What I don’t understand is why they ever gave us LS in the FIRST PLACE if they were just going to make it worthless…
It was worthless in the first place, then it was viable, now it’s worthless again. 1 boon is not enough at the rate they are pumped out.
Our job is to backcap and apparently that’s it. We are viable in WvW… because it’s a bunch of scrubs that have no clue.

It is the truth, instead of listening to players Anet goes and does something completely off the grid and breaks things in the process. They are still in the testing stage of balance and the past months of atrocious spvp can attest to that.
We wait what.. 4 months? for some ridiculous patch that hardly touches on any of the pvp balance issues, ruins all thief stuns, hilariously keeps warriors OP which was their entire intention of fixing in the first place, and condi meta untouched.
It only pains me that they ignore all of the feedback in spvp forums and wave their hands going “Whateva! Whateva! I do what I want!”
There is a reason spvp is dead and e-sports didn’t take off, and probably never will. They can’t even implement a half decent match making system because there aren’t enough teams playing the queue’s would take ages… rofl.

Even the simplest of issues like last refuge giving a free revealed didn’t get touched, complained about since its inception. Sooooo sad… any other gaming company would have woke up by now and listened to its community outcry. What sucks even more is Anet wasn’t always like this, and we actually had player testing in GW1.
How about me? Not quitting Thief, that’s what. My identity as a player isn’t wrapped up in incremental changes to whatever the latest abuse is. I’ve changed my build a dozen times since I started playing this game in beta. When they nerf what I’m running today, I’ll change it to something else tomorrow.
Things are a lot different when you’re a competitive player. Right now, pretty much only viable build for thief in tpvp is venom share which admittedly is pretty good and great support although what if I don’t like that play style or enjoy it?
It’s unfortunate that my main build S/P took a huge blow because warrior stuns were and still are too OP. ANet has no clue how to balance, and for some reason thief always gets it in the back end whether intentional or not.
May as well switch to a profession that isn’t getting screwed 24/7. I’ve played thief main since beta, I’m not a flavor of the month kind of guy that switches classes constantly but I can only take so much of this bull.
I have had to switch builds and play things that I don’t even like just to stay in the game.
It’s time to bite the bullet and just main my guardian until ANet figures out just what the hell it is they want thieves to be good at.
I guess our only option now is venom support medic. If you like that, well good enjoy not having any stun breaks and spamming infiltrators strike because venoms are terrible by themselves. Enjoy being useless unless you’ve got a team mate near you..

Basilisk venom is a 1 sec stun on a 45sec CD not 1,5 sec.
The stone duration is 1.5s unless the patch screwed this up too, idk haven’t played since pistol whip was ruined.
1 of the better balanced elites imo, all should be like this and less like the eng loliwin elite. Another good balanced elite is mesmer aoe stealth.
They should be small advantages not some insane OP crap.

Guardian dps or elementalist is the right choice
Guardian DPS can be really fun I agree, and they always have a need in pve and pvp. What team runs without one? .. bunker is so incredibly boring though.

Stealth change: now a permanent buff that is removed upon taking damage and not usable in combat, exceptions are utilities such as blinding powder which gives you an immunity to breaking stealth from damage for 3s.
I’d like to see more assassin-esque combat with shadowsteps and evades rather than stealth spam. Stealth should only be a tactical opener or get away mechanic imo, basically just copy the system other MMOs have used for years which works and is a lot less annoying and more skill involved.
Warrior: simply add the hamstorm build from my GW1 box set, too pro.
Guardian: paragon spear (land) and imbagon build ;p
Ranger: stow pet replaced with prep skills from GW1. Anyone not familiar, these added things such as bleeding, burning, raw damage etc. to your attacks and you weren’t forced to use a pet.
Necro: consume corpse lol
Mesmer: less clone spam more hex plox, bring back the support denial class.
Ele: brg back real conjures that can be cast on allies for armor ignoring damage.
Eng: nuka grenade from fallout

lol if your a mesmer struggling against thiefs you need to l2p mesmer have an advantage in a duel against thiefs (learn to manage your clones if vsing a x/d thief) you can add mesmer to the no pile.
Mesmers are nothing vs shortbow. If they can’t get a shatter off, you win. Their burst is also incredibly obvious and easy to avoid, hurr immobilize shatter… between double stunbreak and withdraw I don’t think I’ve lose a 1v1 vs them in months.
If we’re talking phant build, well, just main SB the entire time and laugh in the mesmers face for not being able to play the class themselves.

Just look at league of legends. They have done amazing work on this kind of stuff, and while I realize not all of it could translate perfectly it would help a lot.

I know the damage is already done with the ascended crafting materials and raising the crafting level cap, but I feel like ascended armor should be a reward from a questline.
Expand further on the background story of ascension and how it relates to fractals. This is the perfect opportunity to give what most GW1 players want to see, a return of familiar lore and possibly enemies.

Biggest mistake i ever made was kitten ing away laurels on my thief. I PROBABLY would still be playing if I spent them on gear for (surprise, surprise) my warrior.
I feel the same way but for my Guardian.
Since ANet ruined S/P all the constant nerfs what is the point. I get frustrated every single patch, not worth it.
I’m never one to complain much about nerfs but thief is such a sloppy design at this point it’s quite sad. Play any other character and they just feel more complete.
Thief is still my main because we all know how we aren’t allowed to gear multiple characters with ascended… but I am playing less and less, didn’t play at all last week.
Don’t care about halloween or anything else if I can’t enjoy my character the way I want to, so I’m just going to stay logged out until pistol whip stun is corrected.
If never, so be it. I’m really curious if any devs even play thief, never seen one on their streams or anything really. I love how 90% of my damage can be dodged now before my first strike even lands… these devs are clueless. It’s almost as if they’re trying to force immob venom, wink wink.

I bought mine for guild events and such, I only command with guildies and we’re always in vent. If a cmd is completely silent and doing his own thing, chances are he/she forgot it’s on, I do this ALL the time unfortunately.
The developers of this game love one shot kill annoyances so learn to identify and dodge them.
No one does regular events because they don’t reward anything worth our time so you will see a lot of dead over run waypoints and such.
Few exceptions, one of them being Queensdale a beginner zone with a train of champion mob spawns that drop useless bags of loot to salvage.
GW2 can be very frustrating and indeed I would expect it to be for any newcomer, especially with certain professions.
Pretty steep learning curve compared to most MMO but once you get used to it, it’s a cake walk and you will be begging for a challenge.
GW1 dervish was definitely not slow with scythe as they incorporate the dance form into combat attacks and whirl with high speed. A very fun profession to play.
In comparison to what I pay for WoW which is 15 a month, GW2 is much much more expensive with its gem store prices. This is why I never spend a dime on GW2, I prefer a flat monthly rate while everything in-game is free.
But like someone said, they make more money off gem store than monthly fee by a long shot because there are crazies that spend thousands.

I remember when games were difficult by default and we didn’t have the option of crying to the devs for nerfs.
I’m also having difficulty targeting the nearest enemy. I noticed it in the CM dungeon when I was trying to target the closest bandit (literally in front of me), but I kept targeting the boss who was behind me and far away. Because of this new function, I keep missing my intended target. If the new targeting system was intended to target legendaries, could you please make that a different option instead “target nearest enemy”

1: Balance Philosophy – big one, since I can’t fathom some things you do and it would be nice to get some perspective.
2: Game Modes – obviously this is important.
3: Rewards and Progression – anything short of gold or gems is meaningless to me but I can’t think of anything else.
Apparently ‘top level’ guardians are weaker.

Yeah… no thanks. How about they keep underwater mostly how it is but with added combo fields and finishers.
Simple fix, add offhands for underwater. Thief needs stealth? Cloak and Dagger. If I can wield a spear in 1h, I can also wield a dagger.
Underwater feels unfinished, it has a lot of potential but instead of ANet slapping a “it’s ‘difficult’ now aka frustrating as hell 1hit kills” sticker on it I’d rather just keep it how it is unless it’s done right.
Remember underwater in Orr… terrible, absolutely terrible. I don’t even know if it’s still that bad, haven’t been in water other than fractals since maybe a year ago.
All I know is I’m scarred for life and don’t plan on ever returning to the deeps unless some major changes are put in.
