Just a QoL change.
It would halve the amount of work I have to do each time I log on
Maybe, next time, crop the character so we don’t have to wait for a fullscreen ss to load
Actually that’s cropped down from 5810×1080.
Maybe, next time, get better internet. This isn’t 2004, there will be no 56k warning.
Engineers need sunglasses!
Make it happen ArenaNet <3
With help of photoshop:
I was all excited today with news of my autoattacking flamethrower, so I went in to WvW to melt a few faces.
First fight I found I popped flamethrower and toasted them….. and toasted them…. and toasted them. When they got to 30% health, they turned around and downed me from 100% before I even had a chance to reach for my heal key.
I love this class, but kitten it needs work.

w00t for the fixed chatbox!!!
Cutscenes work on middle screen now too. Not perfect (more or less 4:3 on a 16:9 screen), but at least I can watch them now.
Thanks for the fixes ArenaNet
I used to love grenades until I realised how pigeon-holed we are into using them.
It’s neither. A rifle or a shotgun can actually kill something.
They should call it “the thing I accidentally use for 2 attacks when my grenade kit drops for no reason”.

An update.
I’ve found the reason for all the downward shooting is related to camera angle. It seems that the game locks your firing angle to your camera angle when you run (and it stay there when you become stationary).
Since Asura characters are smaller, you are always looking down on them with you camera, so the rifle always shoots through the floor. If you are to move your camera behind your character, where you can’t see anything, it will shoot at the correct angle like other races.
Run.
Seriously.
Run for your life.
I’m wondering if it’s just our server, each time ET would be around I could start feeling that tiny skill delay.
I didn’t want to be the one to point the blame finger at ET’s massive zerging, so I’ll point it at RUINs massive zerging instead.
IoJ = It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
It’s been absolutely atrocious in EB.
Just now our 40 player SM attack wiped to 5 viable attackers, and our earlier ET keep attack failed on the lord when lag was so bad that I was spamming my heal button for 40 seconds with no effect.
Thank you ArenaNet for not listening to the self-entitled QQ’ers
I think GW2 makes a point of rewarding organization. They want guilds to pick-up the slack.
If arenanet implemented your plan, kitten would get built almost all of the time regardless of organization.
So you’re effectively proposing that only large WvW guilds should be able to upgrade keeps.
/mind boggles
Having a single player pay 1g 50s for a waypoint, or 2g for fortification on Stonemist Castle is asking way too much of a single player.
A few times I’ve had to do donation drives in /map asking for 10s donations for upgrades of SM/keeps/towers etc, and it always leads to a conversation with people agreeing that being able to donate a partial amount of money instead of asking one player to pay it all would be a great feature.
How I would handle it:
- Require a player to pay a percentage, from 5% to 20% depending on the overall price, to start the donation drive.
- That then starts an event that announces the donation drive and tracks progress.
- Have NPCs asking for donations (VO would be neat).
Furthermore, I think it would also have a positive side effect that people would feel more personally invested in a location if they helped upgrade it (I know I do when I’m paying!), and it would encourage people to defend locations with greater vigor.
On a similar note, I’d like it if commander icon wouldn’t appear on the map in PVE zones, because I’m sick and tired of the endless /map trollfest every time a commander is in town.
Engineer Rifle just flat out needs more damage. It’s only useful for control. If you want to kill anyone you need a kit (which funnily enough provide damage and control).
Net shot needs to do damage. I don’t mean a condition either, because rifle = power.
Blunderbuss needs to more range, and get rid of the cast time that makes it way to easy for it to miss on a mobile opponent.
Overcharged shot needs not knock the Engineer down. Why should my own skill punish me?
Jump Shot needs to stop being so slow so you can actually hit someone that’s not immobilised.
I really wish Rifle was viable, because I am getting very sick of doing nothing but spamming grenades.

Quality post
I fail to see how using anti-player mechanics as intended by ArenaNet is greifing.
Even worse with an international ping :/
Ruin is Ruin. The less attention they get, the better.
I was more disappointed by Team “we’re about community building” Legacy getting in to bed with a guild know for being such a negative force against in-game civility.
No.
You need 3 servers for WvW, and considering the oceanic population is barely big enough for 3 servers it would be the same 3 servers fighting each other week after week.
Then there is the problem that inevitably one server would attract all the hardcore PVP’ers, it would become dominant and leave the other two disinterested in WvW.
Bookahs gotta be bookahs
Asura are the only race without a unique starter pet for Rangers.
Anet dropped the ball big time imo.
Pfft… siege golems. They should just allow we sura to ride on Norn’s shoulders.
Their brawn combined with our brains would make us an unstoppable killing machine
Personal tip since this happens to me a lot. I lose my target a lot because I am ground targeting and click a bunch of times to fire it off, after the skill has fired, the subsequent left clicks end up deselecting. I have started using my mouse to aim, but double tapping any ground target skills on the keyboard which has mitigated a lot of my issues.
Jon
Grenades?
Here we are:
Wartower: Where I personally had a problem with the blog post was that the Asura wanted to eradicate the whole race and that is pretty extreme, I think.
Jeff Grubb (GW2 loremaster): That is extreme. That is extreme. I think we may have gone too far at that point. I think the idea that they are a danger to the Asura and the Asura are very concerned about them is definitely there. Eradicate? Maybe too tough.
Didn’t the Asura also try to commit genocide on the Skritt?
They retconned that, admitting it went to far.
“My most useful tool is my ____”
Dirty great big rifle :P
using any kind of AOE is a good way
Not really thanks to retaliation.
I’m kinda sick of seeing 40 people melee’ing a door, and if I throw one grenade at them I instantly lose half my health thanks to the half a dozen players with retaliation up. Standing in a pile shouldn’t be a viable strategy…
Unfortunately OP, since I’ve only posted once in this thread, that means you should only be allowed to post three times.
But since you’ve already posted 14 times, you’ll have to wait until I reach my 5th post until you can post again.
Personally I don’t see how limiting people based on the participation of others is fair, but it is by your logic so I guess you’ll understand.
p.s. proud to be an asuran racist seeking for world domination. Join my passion!
Excelsior!
While the 9/17 patch fixed the previously reported issue with Flamethrower and Fumigate aiming through the ground, I’ve found that there are still issues with the attack angle of a lot of rifle animations for Asura.
I believe the issue may revolve around how the rifle lifts to the correct angle too slowly. Looking at the animation for Elixir Gun skill 3 Fumigate (shown in the last two attached files), you can see it initially points downward, and then lifts to the correct angle. Because the non “channeled” skills are instant it doesn’t give the animation time to rise to the correct angle.

ArenaNet needs to do something about these Americans capping stuff while I sleep.
It’s ruining WvW.
Sure are a lot of sore losers in here.
Have you tried with the same hairstyle and face?
~ Dual pistols should fire out of both pistols: It’s kind of stupid to hold two good looking guns and only fire out of the right hand one while the other one sits limply at your side until you use a specific skill. They should both fire like any other dual pistol. .
Skills 1, 2 and 3 are main hand, skills 4 and 5 are off hand.
This is the same for every class.

I deleted my items with along with my hastily made name reserve character on day one, but I haven’t bothered to ticket it yet because you guys already have a big enough workload at the moment. So my question is, is there going to be a cutoff time to claim lost items?
I agree with OP
I’m so sick of all these Americans capping stuff while I sleep.
The thing that makes this really pathetic, is he’s not just some misbehaving guildie, he’s the guild leader.
Engineer works just fine for Asura, if you don’t mind smaller looking pistols
Or just use proper Asuran “Glyphic” pistols :P
“Old interviews” ?
It was last month!

I think it’s telling that a non-trivial chunk of the charr content deals with the Flame Legion trying to sabotage the incredibly effective Iron Legion, whereas a non-trivial chunk of the asura content deals with experiments gone wrong. Due to the self-sobtage that ineptitude tends to cause. (It’ll be perfect this time, honest! Those bumblers.)
Do you realise Asura storyline elements such as defective golems attacking, and lab explosions creating fire elementals are due to the Inquest, which are the Asuran racial bad guys, basically the Asuran version of the Flame Legion. Because you seem to point to everything the Inquest does as proof of Asuran “failure”, while at the same time defending Charr failures by saying claiming it doesn’t count because it’s the Flame Legion, not the Charr. Way to have your cake and eat it too.
The fact is, all you can offer is half truths and calling anyone who proves you wrong (with solid facts no less) a “troll”.

My Asura Engineer-Globiddle
Such a cutie, and an awesome pic
This is how awesome I would look if I could transmute my sunglasses to my normal armor
No fixes to the current bugs
They fixed flamethrower for Asura.
- Almost every asura invention is a massive failure, and tends to either explode or go horribly awry.
And that’s from a lore nerd
Well “lore nerd” you’re contradicting the GW2 lore masters.

If you can’t tell the difference between GW2 lore and, lets be honest – Wow lore, then I fail to see how anyone can treat your list of “facts” with anything but extreme mirth.
Dynamics deals with golems.
The other day I updated my graphics drivers as suggested for the NVidia GTX 560ti, first to the beta drivers, then to the full actual release drivers which just came out from NVidia. And ever since Rata Sum has been Doing the following: (Note, I’ve re-installed the drivers already twice.)
Logged in to find that it’s actually the entire world doing this.
This is caused by buggy “Ambient Occlusion”.
Disable it in the Nvidia control panel and the problem will go away.
