Because success in WvW is determined by two things:
1) Timezone coverage
2) Having more players than the opposition

Those that don’t have that now, will never have it once a financial barrier is put infront of server recruiting.

All this change does is close the gate after the horse has bolted.

With the way things are looking, maybe it’s time FA and IoJ teamed up to keep both servers in T3?

FA focuses IoJ non stop from reset, largely ignoring CD
IoJ is forced to defend against FA and doesn’t have the manpower to pressure CD
CD romps off to a huge points lead

If you want to improve your glicko rating, you need to limit the highest ranked servers points.

This is why you always play for first.

It’s been there since BWE3.

CD have taken a 45k lead already, looks like this tiers getting to easy for us. Things may change if dragonbrand come up.

I think you’ll find that CD’s quick point lead is due to FA playing for second place ever since reset.

We had a player in WvW tonight who knowingly stole a golem and destroyed it by deliberately jumping it off a cliff, and then immediately stole a second one.

What is the correct method to report such griefing?

Server population =/= active WvW community population

WvW should always be full.
If it isn’t full the largest zerg wins be default.

If only IoJ and FA would be intelligent enough to go after CD….

ArenaNet should be encouraging people to use siege equipment, and 30 minute despawn does the opposite.

I totally agree. That’s why I found the video so amusing after some people from IoJ were talking about their “battle hardened warriors” , etc., blah and stuff. I think server pride is great, but it’s silly to pretend only one server has good players or suffered some purge of bads. And since that was the lingering thread direction I felt the need to chime in with a bit of supporting evidence to the contrary.

Perhaps if you bothered read the post instead of assuming it’s content, you’d see it had nothing to do with player skill, and that it was about “fair weather” players. No one claimed commitment and skill went hand in hand.

The Asura consider the Human Gods, as well as the Norn Spirits and other racial deities, to be a part of the Eternal Alchemy. That’s not to say they are held above anything else. They are just another cog in the machine.

Since weekly WvW matches started on the 15th of September, IoJ has won 2 matches. One was a blowout against an imploding ET, and the other was the first week of our current matchup.

As a result, all the fair weather players left IoJ months ago.

The IoJ players that remain do not give up if they’re not leading, nor do they care if they’re outmanned. I doubt most even care if they win. They’re battle hardened and they fight for every last keep, every last dolyak.

Many servers like to say they never give up. None have proven it like IoJ has.

I thought I had seen every stupidity imaginable in WvW until I saw AoN, a guild from FA, in CD’s borderlands.

They had 15+ players that didn’t cap or own a single thing on the map, and just zerged to anything with swords. In effect they did nothing but defend CD’s towers and keeps for hours on end.

IoJ has never had a large WvW community. It just has very committed players that work very hard. The reason you’re seeing less players now, is the excitement of being in a new tier has worn off and people aren’t putting in extra hours anymore.

So a bunch of players, with clearly no WvW experience, decided they were going to buy some golems, thinking that would give them god mode. The inevitable happened and they failed miserably.

And you take that as an opportunity to sling mud at IoJ’s dedicated WvW playerbase?

Is a bit of respect and sportsmanship too much to ask?

Make commander a title that is earned, not just a toy for egomaniacal trading post heroes.

Guild commander icons that can only be seem by the respective guild.

Remove or reduce aoe caps and retaliation to prevent stacking.

45% higher crit chance when attacking bookahs, because they’re large and easy to hit :P

We see this in GW1 EotN when Vekk scatters Gadd’s ashes, and in the book Edge of Destiny when Zojja angrily orders Eir to put down Snaff’s body so she can cremate him.

Did you even stop to wonder how IoJ stayed in T2 for so long despite being outmatched?

I’ll give you the answer: IoJ understands the Glicko rating system and tried to reduce BG’s overall weekly points so IoJ would either gain rating or minimize the loss.

In fact the only time IoJ actively targeted SoR on any notable scale was the week IoJ beat SoR.
