I don’t know if this will work for you, but you can look into the 3gb switch. I don’t know if this works on 64bit windows. This supposedly allows the program to use more memory.

Getting really sick of this bug.

As a three kit engineer, I need the audio cue to inform me when my kit change has actually happened due to WvW’s kittenty laggy servers preventing me from relying on the keystroke. With the sound effect constantly absent, it’s verging on unplayable.

For the moment only Weaponsmith, Artificer, and Huntsman are being raised to 500.

Is every player going to get [Essence of Magic] to “give you about 20% magic find” regardless of whether we have any magic find gear? Or is it tied in some way to the amount of magic find gear we have currently?

Same problem since the last patch. I didn’t get the siren wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh ! sound bug since a very long time .. but with the last patch im missing some sounds as you described.

I understand that the amount of sound clip played at once is limited but the sound that your character make ( or user : UI/menu sounds ) should have priority over anything else .. i mean why i lose my character footstep/weapon sound but i hear a warrior yelling ‘’ shake it off ’’ far behind me ? after a while or a less crowded area all my sound return .. my sound settings is max quality and low latency ( larger memory used )

they removed the Culling in PvE .. now they have to fix the sound culling

Then it represents a perfect opportunity to take over this sub-forum as claim it as your own GvG forum.

I’m going to quote a post I stumbled upon on another forum yesterday as I thought it was quite clever.

Test it yourself.

1. Go into the nVidia Control Panel.

2. Go to the “Adjust Desktop Size and Position”.

3. Under “Select a scaling mode:” select “Full-Screen”.

4. Under “Perform Scaling On:” select “GPU”.

5. Go to “Change Resolution”.

6. Click the “Customize…” button.

7. Click the “Create Custom Resolution” button.

8. Enter the resolution you are thinking of upgrading to.

9. Click “Test”.
It should now apply that resolution and display it on your monitor, it will likely look like crap because the GPU is scaling the higher resolution down to match your monitor’s native resolution, but it should at least display a picture.

10. Click Ok and it will switch back to your native resolution and save the custom resolution.

You can now select 2560×1440 in most games and test to see what kind of framerates you’ll get if you upgrade to a monitor with that resolution.

I run GW2 with all settings maxed on 3 screen (5ghz 2500k, 8gb 2100mhz ram, GTX680, Win7 64bit, SSD), and I often get ‘out of memory’ crashes, usually in very pc-stressed situations like 100 player WvW fights.

Running the Grenadier trait I should be throwing 3 grenades at once, but on many objects if I throw a grenade at them in an upward trajectory I only throw one grenade.

In the first screenshot, I have targeted the ground, and have thrown three grenades.
In the second, I have targeted high up on the wall, and have only thrown one grenade.

All this change would accomplish would be to discourage people from roaming, thus encouraging them to run with the zerg instead.

Yaks are too easy to kill, but they need increased survivability when being escorted by a player, not a passive or NPC increase.

Simple solution:

Give Golems a permanent AOE condition with 5000 range that affects other golems.
Make that condition reduce damage done by 3%, stacking in intensity, capped at 25 stacks.

That way:
2 golems: 3% damage reduction
5 golems: 12% damage reduction
10 golems: 27% damage reduction
20 golems: 57% damage reduction
26 golems: 75% damage reduction
100 golems: 75% damage reduction

So, in regards to GvG and openfield, I don’t see a lot of “rampant speculation” going on. If nothing else, you chose your words poorly. The complaints about this new system potentially killing the GvG scene is entirely grounded.

This forum and this topic in particular are about WvW. WvW is about sieging and controlling objectives and about open field combat. All our changes are with that totality in mind and will continue to be.

GvG fans need to accept this, and push for a separate GvG mode, instead of trying to have WvW changed into something is isn’t.

The setting adjustments you can make currently will expand beyond just WvW, and simply be a game wide setting you apply for culling rules. For most folks, this means you can adjust the settings to actually improve your performance over current performance if you wish, since fallback models and name-tags are cheaper than full model renders.

If you do want to turn everything up to insane, you also now have that option to see an extremely large number of people in all their graphics glory. The choice is entirely yours!
