This. None of the sweeping weakness nerfs went through—not even the one to weakness itself. Same 50% chance it’s always been, now applies to crits too.

That’s far more interesting actually.

I guess they found that buffing Weakness doesn’t do much if you nerf all Weakness skills lol

It’s a handy buff, but I don’t like skills that have a secondary use that’s more powerful than their primary use.

When you can’t use it as a small heal because you’ll throw the MUCH more powerful stunbreak on cooldown, you have a tree falling in the woods kinda deal.

I fail to see how Juggernaut is a good thing. It suffers the same design issue as Grenadier, in that having traits specifically tailored to make a kit more viable only leads to kits being unviable without the trait.

And that’s the opposite of our “Class balance philosophy”:

The Engineer is a highly versatile class. While it doesn’t have the long range capabilities of the Ranger, or the melee capabilities of the Warrior or Guardian, they are comfortable at medium ranges in most fights. They have a lot of control, and use their boons to keep themselves (and allies) alive in a fight. They can use different kits based on the situation, but this extreme versatility comes at a cost in damage on their main hand weapons.

Requiring mandatory traits for a kit to be viable kills off multi-kit builds, limits versatility, and reduces build variety.

I still do not see why the Inquest would want or need assistance from other races.

It even contradicts GW2’s original over-reaching story of the good guys cooperating and putting differences aside to work together, and the bad guys being opposed to such collaboration.

I assume this has something to do with the sky pirates thing?

Which in that case, it doesn’t really seem to fit with lore that the Inquest would help or involve other races with plans of world dominance.

Nerfing a downed skill of the class with the worst downed skills game, while doing nothing to improve it?

Sounds exactly like something they’d do. Especially to Engineers.

The problem is, the amount of effort needed to upgrade a tower is infinity higher than the amount of effort needed to capture it.

And to make matters worse, upgrading isn’t rewarded (when you consider the upgrade costs, it’s actually penalized), while capturing is rewarded.

Sad to see GW2 sink to the same level as last generation grinder MMOs.

That’s a different issue, which also needs to be addressed.

Upgrade paths need choices removed and made linear, and supply depots holdings need to be separated for players and upgrades.

My Engineer can get up to 2 minutes of swiftness duration on a yak during a long escort

Not directly, I looked at his past posts and saw that he referred to him self being and TC. I asked him if he is still on TC and he didn’t respond. Neither him or myself called out a server. Just because I asked a question with “TC” in it you assume that’s the correct answer and the server hes referring to.

Unfortunately Engineer is very much a one trick pony..

Yep right now they messed up the traits in the engineer tree. It’s nowhere near what the ranger and thief enjoy in terms of multiple ways of building might fury and other boons. It’s all just elixirs or the FT traits.

They have us so pigeonholed we don’t really have a choice. The same goes for speed. Every single build out there uses 10 points in the last line because we have 0 options for speed boosts while out of combat unlike the other two adventurer classes.

The worst thing is, they’re nerfing other traits/skills with an assumption that every Engineer has HGH traited. So instead of fixing the real problem (HGH being lolOP), they’re just destroying build diversity.

Personally, I used to love playing my Rifle/Grenade/Bunker build in WvW, but now it’s just trash thanks to the nerfs. Yet meanwhile in the sPvP forum, posters profess Engineers to be a T1 class.

The motto very much seems to be spec “HGH or GTFO”.

How about instead of asking for WvW to be destroyed so you can GvG, ask for a seperate GvG mode?

Some of us actually like playing WvW as it was intended….

In that case: I’d love to see the next chapter of personal story continue on semi-regular basis.

I think it would be nice to handle, for example the next dragon, with slow steady progress, then by just dumping it all on us at once and people racing through it all in 2-3 days.

It would also have a nifty effect where everyone would be up to the same point in the story at any given month, so you could freely discuss the story with others instead of worrying about spoilers.

Very impressive by TC and FA right now. SOS has 5 people in EB so what do TC and FA do? They each attack SOS and take towers that are undefended rather then fight each other. This area could use some work.

It seems every server has problems with guilds claiming holdings despite having no active bonuses. It’s made worse by the fact that it often prevents guilds, who actually have bonuses to apply, from claiming the holding and benefiting the server.

IMO it’s just common sense that a guild should only be able to claim a holding if they have active bonuses, and that the claim should drop when the bonus timer runs out
