w vs w seems to be impossible to handle on very high graphic even for the best computer atm in the world
So because your “2.80ghz i7 2630qm / 6770m” laptop can’t run it, it means “the best computer in the world can’t”.
Meanwhile my 5.00ghz i5 2500k / GTX 680 runs WvW with all settings on max at 5820×1080 just fine, and it’s not the “best computer in the world”
Thus why stealth should give 1 second of endure pain when cast. Or at the very least protection…
You’re invisible, not invulnerable.
What’s better than one cute Asura girl?
Two cute Asura girls!
I am a commander on my server and I tell people to not rezz people sub lvl 80 and kick them from my groups.
Exhibit A on why commander tags shouldn’t be obtained with gold.

I propose, only updates with cute asura.
I like this policy!
’scuse the poor graphics, and possibbly poor wvw knowledge… But pls tell me how do they get their arrows to fire inside our Hills base, like this in the picture?
This is done using a triple monitor setup.
No it isn’t. Triples don’t let you see over walls that your camera is lower than.
The screenshot shows someone using a zoom hack.

Apart from whole theoretical discussion – Asuras actually have turrets. Mostly shooting with lightnings and not bullets, but the look is there already. And even if there were not, there’s a plenty of opportunity to make Asuran turrets and fit them into their architecture and tech.
As a wannabe be concept artist (and asuran engi at the same time) I can take the challenge – it’s fun and a great practice. I’ll try to make more polished ones but not at this very moment (you know, it’s 2 AM in here already).
I love that top left. Would make a great Thumper Turret.
WvW matchups are a marathon, not a sprint.
Hey guys,
A bit of background on why a book and not just new slash commands.
Basically Eivene guessed most of it.
1) visual controls are just better than selling a bunch of slash commands with no tangible way to learn them and being limited by typing speed and accuracy.2) We added the invite functionality.
3) It’s extendable … If it’s popular and we add more dances, more books don’t require a lot of command memorization.
Hopefully that clears some things up.
May I suggest making the books “learnable” and having /dance change your bar to dance mode.
Then your dance bar would work by swapping in books like utility skills in 7-8-9 which would change your 1-5 to various dance moves, somewhat like Engineer kits work. Then put invite / group functionality on F1-F4, your standard racial dance on 10, and something fun like a randomized voice emote about dancing (with a cooldown so people don’t spam it) on 6.
A tip for if you’re planning on doing any testing as it always trips people up:
Sigils of Battle give stacks of Might when weapon is switched to during combat.
Thanks everyone who came out it was a lot of fun. Let me know if there is anything I could do improve it next time.
Reroll Asura imo

A floating Asura cube fortress.
Underneath it are the power generators, which you have to destroy in open field combat.
Once you destroy the power generators, the cube crashes down to the ground.
Then you can attack the gate.
It has laser cannons/mortars and the Lord is a golem.
The only major territories we’ve released in so far are US and Europe.
But… then that means…
D:
no, you just didnt get that sentence… he means that only major reagions where GW2 is released are EU and US, it means there are more major regions, but only in 2 of them GW2 is out, got it?
But it is released here in Australia, thus we are official a mere minor territory
That is a beautiful looking map setup right there. Very rare to see the BLs all look like that.
Arrow carts anybody? Pretty much the single worst change to WvWvW
They’re annoying to be sure. I can almost deal with the damage to troops. It’s the damage to siege that is unconscionable.
More or less agree.
I feel the damage to players is fine, although that’s obviously debatable. But the damage arrow carts do to siege is way too much.
As for people complaining that you can’t take Hills because of the arrow cart buff, that’s a Hills map design problem, not an arrow cart problem imo.
According to the official GW2 twitter, there will be a stream tomorrow about “small squad tactics in WvW” @ noon PST on Twitch.

if one race gets unique looking turrets, every race needs to have them
I’ve actually thought the same thing for a while
We already have several (?) Asura turret models in game, but if ArenaNet were to let Asura Engineers use them, the amount of QQ from other races as to why they don’t get their own turret models would be immense.
So in conclusion: blame bookahs.
The only major territories we’ve released in so far are US and Europe.
But… then that means…
D:
1: Stand on Wall
2: Throw grenades at Zerg
3: ???
4: Profit.Bring your friends.
The unfortunate truth…
…one skill to rule them all is the result of a sad and pathetic class implementation….great concept, great design, epic failure on the delivery.
The worst thing is, they’ll nerf grenades until they are as bad as they other kit/weapon, instead of bring them up to Grenade Kit’s level.
Elixir X = the skill you design when you can’t be kittened to design a skill.
Oh look, another thread for [VoTF] to endlessly troll because they haven’t got their way.
Intelligent posts stating your case are too hard right?

So is TC. A lot of people in TC are in college, and are going through their finals, and as such, haven’t been on much as of late.
The rest of us, well most people are running the new dungeon and farming CoF and others for their legendary.
I’m curious as to how these two situations are unique to TC.
Unlike most other (all?) servers TC has a WvW militia culture, not a WvW guild culture.
Case in point: Commander tags for guilds only (i.e. “don’t follow us”) are frowned upon on TC.So when a TC main commander can’t attend, it means TC will either lack coordination on a map, or will be lead by a less experienced commander, which effects performance.
For other servers on the other hand, if a guild commander/leader can’t attend , the guild can generally still remain coordinated and make an impact. Plus it’s only one of many guilds.Personally I think a militia culture is better, as it’s more inclusive and should result in better coverage, but it is very dependent on having good reliable commanders.
Sorry, all this proves is you really have no idea what its like from another servers point of view.
ORLY?
Guess you don’t know I used to play on FA.
Going to take a wild guess and say you’ve never played on TC….

Blatantly stolen from the VoTF QQ Department.
FTFY
People WvW to fight players, not NPCs, or dumb traps.
Speak for yourself.
Not everyone wants WvW to be about zerg vs zerg open field fighting.
The End of Culling
We wiped out culling in World vs. World, and now we’re doing the same in the Living World. By removing the limit on the number of characters you can see, we’re increasing the epic feel of exploring through a fully-populated world.Quick follow up note, sorry about this one folks. Both of the release notes above are still in testing and are NOT including in the May 14th release.
Oh noes!
But since it’s not finalized, any chance of a “Don’t render bookahs” setting instead?
I cant agree more. As an asura player I wish they would make things look more appropriate for us.
Agreed. I don’t want to look like a bookah :’(
We do attack DB when we can, but we don’t often get far with that, they usually have their stuff pretty locked down. So yeah, we attack TC, because when we do, we gain good ground in the time we spend fighting. Would be silly to smash our faces against something that won’t be easy to take when there’s more ppts to be taken elsewhere.
Yeah I guess you have a point. I’m probably looking at things in a too textbook kind of way and not a practical way.
EDIT: Guess mif deleted his post. haha
I deleted it as soon as I made it. I decided I don’t want to lower myself to the level of the forum trolls.
I suggest you take a look at your tactics.
Pot, meet kettle.
Burning oil could use some type of shield… it’s rarely of any value, being burned down long before the first ram falls.
I’m not sure what the solution should be, but I do agree that Burning Oil vats are pretty useless. They only serve to stall the siege by forcing the enemy to stand back and take it out before placing rams.
Perhaps the oil pool could stay down for a few minutes?
That way the oil could be a way for scouts to delay ram deployment, making them fell as if their presence has mattered more.
Only possible downside is it further counters rams, when they’re already in a bad place.
Do you even realize that he wants the same thing as many of you?
i.e. for GvG to have it’s own separate official environment. He wants ANet to either ban the players who are doing it, or announce that it’s “legal.”
We all want GvG arenas though.
It’s true that he’s a bit on the extreme side, but I think people who want GvG would get more value by using him as an example of the issues the lack of GvG is causing WvW, as opposed to responding with insults.
For the more immediate details, we’ll be releasing more info about our first May update here shortly.
Define “shortly” :P
I think the first priority should be Guild commander tags, which can only been see by their respective guild members.
Commanders with a public tag telling people not to follow them ain’t cool.
Furthermore, it would also hopefully help break up the mega-zergs by encouraging more small to medium sized guild groups.
Do you even realize that he wants the same thing as many of you?
i.e. for GvG to have it’s own separate official environment.
define “More technologically advanced” please.
Asura can make what Charr can make.
Charr cannot make what Asura can make. That means sylvari are more advanced than asura. And asura don’t have tanks.
Sylvari can’t make what Asura make, thereby Sylvari can’t be considered more advanced.
And I wouldn’t call tanks a huge technological exclusive.
They’re more or less just a Golem battlesuit on wheels.
I found some sort of plant person. Not sure if you can nom them…
Oooooh there’s soo many adorable asuras here!
Here’s my cutest asura, tiny little Tiikah!
She looks so happy

I really wish FA and TC could learn to put their differences aside and fight DB together for the good of the tier.
It’s sad that people think that Engineers are in a good place in sPvP.
We still have design issues, we still have bugs, we still have a lack of build variety.
All we have is one overpowered, simplistically designed, crutch of a trait: HGH.
I actually felt I was in a good place in WvW until the last patch. I ran Rifle/Grenades with Power/Toughness gear, and felt competitive against most classes. Not uber-powerful, but if I played well I was in with a chance.
Then as always with Engineers, they had to nerf something to the ground.
Now without being able to heal under Elixir S, my survivability is non existent. The aggressive playstyle I used to enjoy is now suicidal, and all I can do is stand at the back of zergs and throw grenades.
I’ve lived with all the previous nerfs, and just tried to play better, but after this latest decimation of the Engineer I really have to force myself to log in, because I just don’t have fun playing anymore.
A demonstration of how this thread is nothing but a vocal minority:
