Having to play janitor on idle siege isn’t exactly thrilling gameplay :/
So much hyperbole.
Factually inaccurate “proof”.
How did this guy get 2 pages of replies?
I figured it out!!

Pistol 236
Grenade 978
Um…. pistols do condition damage over time.
The number that pops up when you hit someone isn’t the total damage they deal.
Why is grenadier underwater so overnerfed and worse than a speargun?

I use grenades underwater for the AOE
Same. They’re good for killing several mobs at once.
Downside is, they tend to pull even more mobs than you’re trying to kill.
Flame thrower should NEVER miss at least on it’s #1 slot ability.
I’ve also noticed another issue lately. When you get hit your character reacts by flinching, which results in your flamestream pointing down and through the map, thus not hitting the enemy. It’s a big problem when facing classes with fast attack speeds or multiple attacks.
It doesn’t seem fair that I can’t hit other players if they’re hitting me.
Using the 3 grenade build you attain 3x most other weapon dps.
Were you an accountant at Enron by any chance?

Yay!
GJ Arenanet.
Ya it’s a burst game
Which is a disappointment.
I found the actual combat in PVP (WvW in my case) to be more fun during the beta weekends when people were level 20ish, had bad gear and few traits.
Who won and lost came down to who played better, not who was quickest on the draw.
(edited by Mif.3471)
A long range, direct targeted weapon.
Preferable one that doesn’t rely on condition damage.
Perhaps it would be best to turn off your commander icon if you don’t want people following you, as the entire point of the icon is to encourage people to follow you.
Saturday 2pm PST / Saturday 9pm GMT / Sunday 7am AEST would of allowed everyone to enjoy the event.
5. Player stacking must become a detriment, not a viable tactic to counter AoE.
Made worse by the fact that in stacks of 40+ players, 10 of them will have retribution up, which means you take more passive damage by attacking them than you deal to them.
If you are experiencing FPS drop, be sure to turn off flash!

If you’re running a 600 series Nvidia, you can use the new EVGA PrecisionX to lock the card in boost mode (EVGA calls it “K-boost”).
The reason why the finished products are currently costing less than they’re worth in terms of materials has to do with other aspects. Everyone is crafting for experience, so there’s a massive supply of finished products to sell.
I think one of the biggest contributing factors is that Trading Post listings never expire. Supply is far exceeding demand, so suppliers (crafters) can’t make a profit.
As much as I love WvW, I’m just about ready to sit out until they stop free transfers.

5820×1080 in beautiful Rata Sum.
Definitely a good change.
This is actually the best solution.
Why not have some fun and make everyone a Quaggan ghost / pirate for the puzzle?
The choice of 12:00 PM Pacific Time/19:00 GMT on Sunday was a very informed, calculated decision.
A calculation that unfortunately didn’t include Oceanic players, specifically that Sunday US = Monday in Oceania, thereby excluding anyone with a job.
Saturday 2pm PST / Saturday 9pm GMT / Sunday 7am AEST would of been a far more inclusive time.
As an Asura fan I know exactly where the OP is coming from. I’ve decided to hold my judgement until we see a few more holidays in case it’s just a Halloween thing.
Does anyone know if this was fixed in the Halloween patch?
Rather surprised they didn’t do anything to our terrible downed state, because it’s utterly useless.
It was 650mb for me
Mesmer portals and thief camp stalling: Why these tactics are important for WvW
in WvW

I know OP would be a Mesmer or a Thief before I even clicked on the thread.
Grenades don’t need to be targetable, they just need to make guns a far more viable ranged weapon.
On a similar note, it’s very tough on Oceanic players.
12 mid-day Sunday US translates to 5am Monday for east coast Australia, which means the vast majority will miss the final event.
Simply moving it to 5pm Saturday US would make it 10am Sunday for east coast Australia and would let oceanic players experience the event.
“Jump to 9 min mark, question is answered by studio technical director Cameron Dunn”
Reread what you posted.
Jorm
The interviewers question, not “OP’s questions”. The podcast has 4 interviewees, I was informing people of who was answering the question.
Remarkably though, you’ve answered your own question of why ArenaNet hasn’t bothered to communicate anything on the forums. If you can turn someone trying to give you a snippet of new info into a keyboard warrior training session, I can only imagine your reaction to an official post.
So what exactly was answered at the 9min mark that you pointed out?
Didn’t say he “answered” anything. I said it was new info.
If you pay attention to what he says, there’s an upcoming design change (as opposed to a technical change) that will allow more people to WvW at the same time.
If you think render lag is bad now, wait and see how bad it is when the server has deal with informing every client about every unique snowflakes dye job.
You guys need to top relying on being spoon fed info and keep your ear to the ground.
For example:

Jump to 9 min mark, question is answered by studio technical director Cameron Dunn
Nobody in WvW likes it
How typical of the to forum QQ squad to think they speak for everyone.
It’s called a water gate.
You not paying attention =/= “blatantly cheating”
Would you like IoJ to email you before we attack a location?
Guilds claiming keeps with no influence bonuses is a huge pet hate of mine. I’m sick of idiots racing to the NPC to display their pretty banner and not caring if they screw over the server in the process.
Simplest solution would be to require a guild influence item to be active for a guild to claim a keep.
It also creates an endless trollfest in /map chat every time a commander is on a map.
This is my Bee Gees build for ah ah ah ah staying alive in WvW:
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcMM9VMLaR0MLaR0x0aGaVkqzoso
30 Explosives for the mandatory grenade spam.
10 Inventions for regeneration at low HP and protection when you’re crit.
20 Alchemy for a free Elixir B, protection proc on disable, and regeneration with a kit.
10 Tools for perma-swiftness when running across the map and on demand when chasing an enemy.
Grenade Kit is your primary damage dealer.
Flamethrower is for cooking people on the other side of doors.
Elixir U is for huge burst damage.
Elite skill is open, because all Engineer elites are pretty useless.
“Knight” gear for power, crit and toughness.
Cherry Pie for health steal on crit (procs very well with Grenadier’s three attacks and Flamethrower’s fast attacks)
Smoke Vent’s radius needs to be more like Smoke Bomb (from Bomb Kit).
Best bet would be to post the info in this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Seeing-map-armors-stuck-weapons-or-other-art-issues/first
The combination of rifle’s terrible range and lag, and grenade’s ground targeting / travel time making it very hard to actually hit anything that doesn’t stand still right next to you.
It also forces you to have to look down at your character which means you can only see the ground and very little horizon, because if you try to look forward it’s very easy to clip the ground or objects with the camera.
Use “Glyphic” pistols.
Asuran style and large.
My playstyle:
When attacking keeps use grenades, and stay back as far as possible so hopefully you can play the “range game” where you can hit them, but they can’t hit you. Try to damage the door, but prioritise keeping enemies attacking from the wall under control. You can usually force them to retreat with some grenade spam. Using poison grenade on a downed player to limit their received healing by 33% makes it harder for enemies to res.
When defending use flamethrower through the door. You can force enemies off flame rams due to damage from skill 1, knock enemies off flame rams (or try to make it safe for people repairing the door) with skill 3, and lay a fire line at a 90 degree angle with skill 4 to hit/scare off enemy players. Once you force them off the door, grenade from the top. When they go back to the door, it’s flamethrower time again.
This is my build:
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#czMM9VMLaRoMLaRox0aGaVkqzoso
Use it with Cherry Pie food (HP steal on crit) and “Knight” gear.

One problem I’ve had, is loot bags despawn too quickly.
For example, when I’m working an arrow cart during a defence, often I’ll see 6 or 7 loot bags at my feet, but by the time the defence is over and it’s safe to get off the arrow cart and pick them up, most of them will of already despawned.
The “Snaff Memorial Lab” would be considered Zojja’s home in-game.
When you say “would be”, do you mean that this IS her home, but she isn’t there?
If she is, where is this located?
I just went and had a quick look, and she isn’t there.
She kinda should be. Looking at you ArenaNet :P
The “Snaff Memorial Lab” would be considered Zojja’s home in-game.
The only answer, is Golemancer
The problem isn’t FoV. That’s a buzzword people have bandwagon’d.
The real issue is the camera looks at the ground too much, which limits your view of the horizon, leading to a claustrophobic feeling.
I have a 3 screen setup in landscape and still get the claustrophobic feeling. The reason why the 3 screen layout that OP linked looks good is that the vertical height due to the portrait layout allows you to see more of the sky.
