Mine reset last week or so. Kinda strange.

I don’t know about PvP, but for PvE (endgame) I find it a good and enjoyable class to play. Lots of fun to play, can’t complain.

Will removing the custom playlists make the launcher download the old music files again?

If you take the custom playlists out of the music folder it’ll revert back to the original game music.

If a weapon doesn’t have the name of the sigil in its description, can I replace it with a sigil, or is it a hard upgrade?

I play on Gandara and see plenty of people except in the mornings.

No one on Gandara is able to enter Arah story or explorable. It’s completely bugged.

I did that one yesterday, and it must’ve been one of the most tedious boss fights so far. So basically you have to sync the lasers with 3 people to bring down the shield. Then everyone has to get down on that platform, gets a few seconds to bash on the Destroyer or maybe get 1 Meteor Shower down before the shield is back up and repeat the process.
I don’t know, it just seemed like a boss that could’ve been interesting, but ended up being a total bore.

Meanwhile the regular players get hurt because of farmers as well.

They are environmental weapons, so they are limited to the restrictions of all environmental weapons.
They could act like secondary weapon swaps, considering they solve the range problems we have, and it would be really fun for us to swap to burning greatswords or lightning hammers on the fly for combo fields/ finishers, etc;!

I like this idea.
This could be added in various different ways, but it’s an interesting thought.

The Fiery Greatsword looks awesome, but it’s not really all that great, and it limits the Elementalist extremely, because it gives us only 1 skillbar to play with. And that 1 skillbar doesn’t give us much survivability.

What the Greatsword needs is to let the user change elements, like I can do with my regular weapons. The different elements of course should give it unique skillsets.
All of these attacks can borrow animations of already existing skills, the only thing it needs is different weapon skins for the elements.

Water:
1. Slash. Basic auto-attack, can have the same animation as the Fiery version, but slings Water projectiles (similar to those of dagger auto-attack, but without the returning). Sling like 3 projectiles for AoE, or have them heal nearby allies.
2. Make it like Fiery Greatsword skill #2, but have a big ice stalagmite appear from the ground to deal AoE damage.
3. Skill 3 would be like the Guardian Greatsword skill #3, but with different functionality. Sling projectiles around that heal allies, and creates a shield around the user that deflects projectiles (similar to Swirling Winds from Elementalist skill #4 on Focus).
4. This would be a charge skill, similar to the Fiery version, but leaves a path of icy stalagmites behind that damages and chills foes.
5. Skill 5 would be similar to the Fiery version, but calls down a Healing Rain instead.

Air:
1. A melee range attack that has a chance to stun enemies on hit.
2. Block the next attack. If blocked, teleport behind your opponent and stun him.
3. A aura similar to Shocking Aura on dagger skill #3, but instead reflects damage done to the wielder back to its source.
4. A charge attack similar to Ride the Lightning, but knocks back adjacent enemies when it ends.
5. Holds the sword up and have a lightningbolt strike it the tip of the sword. Then have lightning come off the wielder and spread out for an AoE effect. Adjacent enemies get hit hard and get stunned. Nearby enemies get hit less.

Earth:
1. Slash. Basic melee range attack that applies bleed on hit.
2. Rams the sword into the ground, and raises a wall of stone in front of you that enemies cannot pass and blocks any projectiles.
3. Magnetic repulsion, works similar to Updraft from Dagger skill #5.
4. Creates an eruption at target enemy location that knocks down and deals AoE damage.
5. Similar to Ice storm, but with stalagmites instead that bleed on hit.

This makes Fire and Water clearly the choice for ranged combat. Air and Earth are mostly for close range. Water still offers some support, and Earth still offers some defence, while staying true to the more offensive capabilities of the Greatsword as a weapon.

Disappointed with the Elementalist elites.
Tornado is nice and all, but the knockback won’t work on champions. Using it on a group is nice, but leaves you completely defenceless and you get chopped to pieces anyway. I guess it would work in situations when the aggro is on other people.
Fiery Greatsword looks friggin’ awesome, and is pretty nice damage. But once again, it lacks any sort of defence, so I’d rather be swapping between my attunements to keep myself alive. It’s a fun skill, but not useful at all.
Glyph of Elementals is the only elite skill I find somewhat useful. The Earth elemental can usually tank a boss for a while before going down. But other than that it doesn’t have much use, and the cooldown is so long I often just save it for “later” (whenever that may come). Besides it being somewhat useful sometimes, it’s not really a fun skill. Press the button and that’s it. Doesn’t make me feel like a badkitten, or more powerful.

If I had a suggestion for the Elementalist elite is to change the Fiery Greatsword to Elemental Greatsword, and have different skills on it for each element. That way I can continue playing as an Elementalist (with the whole element swapping) and still be effective.

They disabled loot on them because people were farming them.

That’s pathetic.=/
Oh well I’m just going to re-create this thread every day until a dev will finally acknowledge the issue and maybe does something about it.

I guess I’ll just have to keep recreating this thread every time it’s ignored by a dev since bumping it is apparantly asking for deletion.
So once again I’m here to ask/demand my 1K points for the non-functional Tome of Influence (from pre-purchasing the CE) I used on my guild on the first day of the headstart. I sent a ticket to support weeks ago, and still haven’t received an answer on this issue… I’m getting (censor) impatient.

The Golem boss in Crucible of Eternity (with the 4 crystals around him) tends to kill me in a single combo, and I don’t what actually hits me when it happens. First hit stuns me, then the second and third hit kill me before I can move again. Any tips?
Playing as Elementalist.

I’d be going for a combination of both toughness and vitality.
Reason:
If you have a ton of HP, but no toughness, you still get hit hard and high HP won’t be all that great except for the initial spike.
If you have a ton of toughness but no extra vitality, you may get hit less, but have a lot less HP to go with. Less HP also means being weaker to conditions.

I actually like how the sets don’t offer the same stats on all pieces. It helps me to build a better balanced character. Got 5/6 of the Dwayna set so far.8)

Not really. The only time I get refused is when it’s the typically “need guardian plzplzplz” (which I wouldn’t want to join anyway), other times (which is most of the time) I get in parties without problems.

My Storm Eye disappeared after transmuting it with Arcon Mask. It’s completely invisible now. Playing human male Elementalist.

I hope they don’t nerf him. He’s one of the best dungeon bosses I’ve fought. He’s supposed to not be a pushover.

Pretty much afflaq said, but yeah, first time dungeon can be pretty tough.
Gear isn’t the key thing, better gear helps, but it certainly doesn’t help you win an instance. However, keep in mind that if you spec in offensive abilities only you’ll die a lot easier than you do with a more balanced or defensive spec on gear. Wouldn’t recommend going “glasscannon” in dungeons at all, unless you know what you’re doing and run with a decent group.

It’s important to know what your skills do. All of their effects. Analyse what you have available on your weapons, and what could be useful in what situations. Second, choose your utilities wisely. Go for whatever compliments your build, playstyle and anything that can support the team always helps.

Third, know your enemies. Know which enemy does what. Use your skills accordingly to minimise their damage/effects. Dodge roll out of attacks (powerful attacks usually show a charge animation).

Four, always try to res a downed (not a dead one) teammate if you get the chance to. Teams who don’t, usually fail, and results in low morale, quitters or selfish gameplay which is all things you don’t want in a dungeon group.

There’s many more factors to play dungeons effectively, including how your party members perform (requires some luck to get a decent PUG). Point is, you don’t just jump into a dungeon and expect to kick butt based on your experience on games that are completely different.

It’s not really a grind with the new dungeon token rewards. You get 60 tokens for a path. Run all 3 paths, get 180 tokens. Enough for at least 1 piece. Do that once every day and you will have a full set in a week.

I play an elementalist. Extremely fun profession, but squishy. So I will, never, ever, ever get this achievement. Even while crafting, my elementalist got her glove caught in one of the looms, cut herself, and died. So not even that way.

I play Elementalist too, and it’s really by far the easiest achievement to get. In PvE you do a few event chains and there you go.

Hehe, I agree with this. I want Guardian as my secondary main, but it’s so easy to play. I jump into a group of enemies, spam skill 3 on Greatsword and stuff dies. There’s no challenge whatsoever. Elementalist gameplay keeps me on my toes and promotes action-y combat.8)

I like to balance out everything pretty well, although Power peaks out for me. Precision and Toughness are pretty even, HP a little lower. I also have some Healing power on me and 6/6 Dwayna on my gear.
Like others have said, it depends a lot on your playing style. I like to do a bit of everything, which is why I chose to go with a fairly balanced setup.

I do most of AC playing dual dagger Elementalist, which works pretty well. The thing to remember is to element swap a lot, which gives you a boon each time you swap (I think it might require a trait in Arcane line, though), so when swapping to Earth you gain Protection, to Water you gain Regen etc. These boons are also given to nearby allies, so you can offer good support just by element swapping if you have some other melee in your team as well and you play dual daggers.
I also use the trait that casts a spell upon dodge. So if I dodge while in Water attunement, I heal myself and nearby allies, gotta love that one.xD
But generally I’d recommend going staff in dungeons, unless you know the mobs well enough to know how to survive them at close range. But even using staff remember to element swap a lot, it helps you and your team lots.=P

For PvE I go with dual daggers for almost everything, is lots of fun to play.8) I only switch to staff in most dungeon encounters and world bosses.

How do achievement points matter anyway? They’re completely useless.

I don’t know if it’s me, but a lot of times I’m unable to right-click name of player in chat and invite them to party. Sometimes even typing their name in chat does not work (nothing happens).

One more thing ruined thanks to exploiters. Thanks a lot guys.
I never farmed these things, but the few times I did fight a giant in Orr I liked getting the extra loot from the grubs. Well, there goes that…
If only people could be less selfish, the game would be a much better place…

1. Might be hard to see what fields are going on to combo with.
2. Players might not be in the right position to combo with them.
3. Their skill to combo with might be on cooldown.
4. The combo field doesn’t last long enough for players to react.
5. They don’t know about it.

If it bothers you, why not tell them what you want and how they need to use it?
And how can you blame people not knowing about a combo field with a profession they never played or experimented combo fields with?
I’ve only played 2 professions so far, and I wouldn’t know what to combo with a Necromancer…

Instead of being content to remain ignorant, you should learn to use google. And failing that, asking somebody in-game for information.

I agree that there should be some sort of in-game tutorial for this sort of thing, but the information is still easily attainable.

No, it should be available for testing and experimenting ingame. We shouldn’t have to go to some website to read up on them…

Game is about aesthetics, not higher numbers.
But I believe Legendaries have like +5 more than Exotics, which is practically nothing, but I guess it makes your kind happy.

So on the first day of headstart I made a guild, and used my tome of influence I got from pre-purchasing my CE. I didn’t receive any influence from the tome, though.
I have sent in a ticket to support, but after replying to a few copy/paste messages I haven’t heard any more from them, and I still haven’t received the influence from the broken tome of influence.

So how long am I going to wait for this…?

Nope, but if you know you’re going to spend a while in Orr, why not use that song when you’re there, and take it away when you go elsewhere?

How hard can it be to fix a single skillpoint?

I’m looking for an English speaking guild on Gandara that likes to do dungeon regularly. A guild that’s not afraid to back off from a challenge and resorts to farming or speedrunning the fastest and easiest paths only. I’m interested in a guild that likes to organise runs to any dungeon, and any path, and plays for the fun, challenge and teamplay aspect, rather than farming rewards.
Besides dungeons I love general PvE play, just running around zones and doing events (not farming, though). So if your guild likes to do that as well that’s a plus. Not really interested in the WvWvW / PvP aspect.

My current main character is a level 80 Elementalist that I love to play, and I have 7 other alts planned to play, including a Guardian main.
I’m a pretty active player, and generally play at least a few hours every day. Evenings are when I usually have most time for dungeons.

I agree, it seems to go against what ArenaNet has been trying to do with their game. It’s a selfish way of playing, sacrificing your ability to perform better for your party or people around you only for a little more shinies.
