That’s what I liked about Guild Wars 1.
90%+ of the content was the real game, the levelling to max process being short and merely serving as a tutorial. You didn’t have to worry about a levelling grind, because at most it took a few hours to max level, opposed to days or weeks in other MMOs. And getting the best gear was incredibly cheap. You could just focus on having fun, rather than grinding to get to max level+gear.
The grind to max level in Guild Wars 2 is way too high. It may be fun the first 1, 2… maybe 3 times, but after that you just want to get to get it over with as fast as possible. I just want to do my dungeons and get maxed out gear on new characters (GL running dungeons with low level characters in subpar gear), but in order to get to that point I first need to spend ages levelling up in the explorable zones I’ve already been through a dozen times.

I haven’t played in ages, but I’ve been working on getting my Crafting up to 500 and was wondering what’s the best thing to make nowadays. I’m guessing Berserker stuff is still the way to go? Also, what Sigil is generally considered best to use? I’m currently using a Sigil of Fire on all of my Thief’s weapons for the AoE explosion.
I’m mainly playing dual Daggers and Shortbow, but also like using dual Pistols and always carry a Sword with me as well. I mostly play solo and dungeons for fun.
I had Queen Jennah miniature for my 1st Birthday gift ages ago, then took a long break from the game. Now I’m returned and I’m not seeing it anywhere. It’s not in my collection either. Anything I could be missing?
That’s so unnecessarily stupid. What’s the point in giving the book when it could be unlocked automatically? Oh well…
I went to the Trait Vendor to buy the Revealed Training trait for my Thief since I don’t want to bother with the event on Orr. But in the Trait Menu it still tells me that I first need to unlock this trait. Rechecking the vendor it doesn’t display the red text “This trait has already been unlocked.” on the trait, but at the same time it doesn’t let me buy it again (tells me I already got it unlocked). Is this a bug or am I missing something?
It’s been like a year since I last played actively. I have all the Gifts required to craft Sunrise but still missing Dawn. I also have close to 200G, but Dawn seems to cost close to 1KG on the trade post now. Is the Mystic Forge still worth a try, or better to save up the cash to buy off the trade post?
OK, thanks for the quick answer.
I’ve just completed Ascalonian Catacombs in Story mode and it said I have unlocked the Ascalonian Catacombs track now. What does this mean?
I haven’t really played in months, and I can’t find info on it on the Wiki.
Looks interesting, but without details it’s hard to comment on it. Looking forward to the patch notes.
Try 100% World completion?
Find and complete all mini-dungeons and jumping puzzles?
Save up for cool looking armour and weapon skins?
Level another character?
Just add him to your block list and tell yourself that he invited a friend instead of the more likely scenario in which you got kicked for being a baddie.
Because it takes 3 complete Fractals to realise someone is so bad that you have to replace him with someone else in order to even stand a chance on finishing Maw. Yeah, that makes totally sense.
Disagree. The game needs less timed limits, not more.
And I don’t even farm Champions.
Luckily, they released the game with Legendaries, which gives the players a big, long term, difficult goal to work towards.
Why do you feel the need to work in a game? Can’t you just find a job in real life and enjoy the longterm grind there?
ROFL, when i see this QQ, I must seriously doubt, that certain people must have never heard something about LONG TERM MOTIVATION
These items and all their required materials are intentionally designed extra therfore, that not every 0815-noob gamer just will have all these items a couple days after the patch release already.
These items are the highest powerful items of the whole game, these items aren’t be made to get extremly quick. These items are designed for partient players which slowly work towards their goals, like working for a legendary weapon, as the ascendant weapons are itentionally designed to be basically the “bridge” between exotic items and legendary items …
31h of gameplay is absolutely not much, this is peanuts..
I would understand this complain, if gettign all these items qould require like a month of gameplay or so, as that would be really too much to get just 1 single character geared fully, as that would be absolutely again a middle finger towards all those people, which play with multiple characters…125 Dungeon runs.. when you make like 2-3 runs a day thats then just 41 days, so a month and nearly 2 weeks, but doing 2-3 dungeon runs a day doesn’t require 24h beign ingame to do that…
What I meant with a month of gameplay is that if something requires you to play a game for like 30*24hours to aqquire something in the game, what would really be too much where I could understand then the complaint.
/After months of grinding finally collected all Ascended weapons for your main.
/Monthly profession nerf— I mean, re-balance, rendering your current build useless.
/Grind again for months to replace your useless Ascended weapons for new Ascended weapons.
/Rinse and repeat.
Welcome to Play-How-You-Want Wars 2.
Which leads us to the next topic I wanted to talk about, which is balancing. The system I’m using for this test is unbelievably complex and naturally that means balancing might be a bit off. I’m watching the results page rather closely and as far as I’m aware there is a general tendency for either Elementalist or Warrior. I’ve done a bit of counting and the probability for both of these results is a little higher than the others considering you answered all alternatives in all question (if that was possible).
Since some of the questions only have 4 or so answers, I assume you have the score count towards 2 different professions on each answer and taking priority on the Elementalist and Warrior during the final calculation (like for example, if someone scores the same amount of points on both Elementalist and Ranger, the test always picks Elementalist as the result).
Instead of nerfing karma income they should have added more attractive rewards to karma so players don’t hoard millions of karma without having anything useful to spend it on.
Some races can also summon minions through racial skills. Like sylvari can summon a sylvan hound to fight at their side.
Did the test and got Elementalist, my favourite profession (if it weren’t for the nerfs).
Warriors don’t wield daggers, therefore the legendary dagger doesn’t need to look cool.
Maybe it’ll return as a craftable item when they release Jewelry 500?
I’ve had an Ascended weapon chest drop from the Maw daily at level 20.

I haven’t played the updated SAB yet, but watched the stream of the devs playing a zone. It’s looking way too difficult for what’s supposed to be zone 2 (out of a planned total of 6?) I did enjoy zone 1, it had that nice old school game feel to it without being unfair or ridiculous. What I got from watching the stream is that it’s going in the direction of having to memorise everything if you want to complete a zone without using a large amount of Continue Coins.
No, thank you very much.
I’ve had an Ascended Weapon Chest drop for me 1 day after the update.
I wish it was possible to turn off footstep effects.
Greens have a much higher chance of dropping luck on salvage.
Yes.

I was at 3/4 with 75% on my final one and it got reset.
Elementalists are ok when attempting the ambient slayer daily.
Got yesterday’s daily on a Scarlet kill at exactly 0 seconds left on the timer.
Gandara.
The monsters ingame will gladly donate gold to you. The best part: you don’t even have to ask them for it. Just give them a bash on the head and they’ll drop it for you.
I use the Windows feature thing called mousekeys, which counts the + key on the right of a keyboard as a double click, and the 5 key as a single click. It doesn’t hurt the finger as much as using the mouse, and it only requires half the amount of clicking when opening stuff like Karma jugs.
Piken Square just got taken again.
They’re all good professions, it comes down to personal preferences as to which you’ll like best.
Guardian = Heavy armour. Decent damage, great survival, lots of group support.
Necromancer = Light armour. Big focus on condition damage.
Ranger = Medium armour. Always has a pet with him.
I got hit by a Warbanner for 8K on my Thief who has 5K or so max HP downscaled in Bloodtide Coast (wearing full Berserker).
There’s been an LFG tool for months, and I’ve used it with no problems. I’m glad there’s finally an LFG tool being added ingame so I don’t have to continuously alt+tab out of my game to check or update my party.
Isn’t that the guy who stacks confusion stacks? Watch those and clean them as soon he applies some.
Same problem with TP for me.
Didnt they already say that precursor would be craftable soon?
The question was brushed off in the Ascended weapon livestream as “we would still like to do that one day…” so, who knows.
Which pretty much translates into “expect to see that in ~5 years.”
Nope.

I’ve had a Scarlet kill on the 0 second mark.
I agree. There is nothing fun about “Destroy”; it feels like it’s put in there as an excuse to give players in PvE the chance to show off their fancy finisher moves.

Personally I find alot of people just want to get the gold, so naturally it’s a choice considering that alot of champs spawn during this event?
So it’ll just come down to greed or selflessness, it’s human nature. Least we can easily identify the farmers to the players. But then again, who doesn’t want all that gold… Maybe ArenaNet is testing us…
Every player is playing for their own selfish reasons. Some play because they want to have fun. Some play because they want to win the event. Some play because they want to have the achievement. Some play because they want to farm gold.
It’s all the same… just selfish wants.
Account bound legendaries? Please...?

Account bound, and non-tradable upon creation.
PTR servers?
And I remember charge attacks being something they had planned when the game was still in development…
I do hope they are going to focus on bigger pieces of content at a slower pace. I guess it’s nice to have something new coming out every 2 weeks, but it’s too time restricted to create anything really large… like things you’d see in an expansion. Such as: a new profession, new weapon sets for professions, a new continent consisting of 10+ zones, a story orc similar to that of the Personal Story etc. I do wonder if we’ll ever get to face any of the other dragons if they do decide not to bring out expansions…
You don’t need to farm anything when you’re just levelling up. Just explore the world. Getting 100% in a zone gives you some cash and guaranteed greens/rares/exotics (depending on the level of the zone). Upgrading gear is cheap, and at your level it should cost less than 50 silver for a full set of green armour.
Really dislike the wings, but the rose is quite nice.
