LFGuild that does ANY and ALL dungeons (EU)

I’m looking for a guild that enjoys doing dungeons. Not farming or speedrunning only the easy paths, but a guild that likes to do any and all dungeon paths. Besides dungeons I enjoy any other PvE content, so if your guild is very PvE focused, that’s a plus.
I’m on Gandara server, but I don’t mind if your guild is on another EU server, because dungeons have cross-server entrances.
I play an Elementalist main with Dungeon Master title. I’m currently leveling a Guardian, and plan on getting 1 of each profession up to level 80.

Please post here if your guild is what I’m looking for.

One word. Achievement

add an achievement called “Hardcore Dungeon Master” where you have to defeat every dungeon and every path without a party death, you get a title. Then make the title alter you name so instead of “Arrogoth” its “Arrogoth the Hardcore” or something that really stands out like legendary weapons…OMG EVEN BETTER give them “Hardcore gifts of the Dungeon Master” or something that you can make a baddass weapon. There are so many things you could do.

That would be great. Having people drop out of dungeon parties because they died once and want the achievement. These kind of people are also the ones to always curse and swear and blame everyone else in the party for their own mistakes… That’s just what we need more of in this game.

2. Depends on the path. Not sure, cause I haven’t done it much. I’d guess 30 minutes to 1 hour.

You have to do it again for the personal story if the first time you do the dungeon is before your personal story has reached that point.

The thing with story-mode is that it’s really not that hard compared to explorables, both at level 80, but it is hard compared to explorables at 80 and story at the minimum level.

Yup. Difficulty and time are almost polar opposite for a majority of SM/EM dungeons.

Said it before and will say it again: Revamp SM to be solo dungeons. It will only get harder and harder for new players as time goes on and on.

What story needs is for people to return there again. Some sort of incentive. Maybe daily tokens for completing it or so. Now it’s just throw-away content that you do once and never again. That’s a huge waste of resources, considering the story-mode dungeons are pretty well designed generally.

Hello Simin T_T It’s so difficult to get a team scheduled up to actually go and kill that kitten. This is really the one and only path to stand in my way of the Dungeon Master achievement. But oh well, soon we’ll have it done.

Btw, what’s the deal with the Hobby Dungeon Explorer title? What’s required for that?

It’s a repeatable achievement after Dungeon Master. Kinda like the salvage achievement you can get over again.
And yes, Simin is the biggest kitten in this game…-__- Good luck with her.

I didn’t mind him so much at first, but I agree he shouldn’t have been in the foreground for the rest of the story. He basically took away the focus of the story from our character to him till the end of the story, and that kinda sucks.
I really do miss my mentor from the Vigil. That guy was actually fun and cool… why did he have to die?

Apparently they’re planning to put in a token system to let you pick a reward a la gw1. Still, I couldn’t help imagining the npcs saying “Hey, thanks for saving us! Since you’re not doing anything anymore, you could throw this junk away on your way out?”

So I know I’m a bit late with this thread, but somehow it’s just started to bug me a lot lately. I’ve beaten Zhaitan and finished my story-line, yet I’ve got nothing to show for it.
At the end of the final story dungeon we get a rare hat, which is utterly useless, because by the time you do the dungeon you’ll either have a better hat already, or saving up for a better one. Neither does it have an unique skin that makes it worth keeping. At the end of the final story we get some loot bags with random greens that go straight to the vendor.

I don’t understand this… in Guild Wars 1 you did so much to make the story worthwhile (to people who don’t necessarily played for the story only). We got titles and tokens for unique weapon skins.
In Guild Wars 2 we don’t even get a title to put underneath our name.

Suggestions for final story quest rewards:
-A title (Slayer of Zhaitan // Saviour of Tyria // Champion of Orr)
-Let us choose from 1 unique skinned item that we can only get through completing the story. Let them be tradable, so if I don’t like it I can place it on the trade post and let someone else who wants it have it.
-Let us choose from any 1 level 80 Exotic weapon that our profession can use. Upon selection of weapon type, give us the option to choose what stats we want on the weapon.
-Let us choose from any 1 legendary pre-cursor that our profession can use (untradable (one can hope, right?)).
-Give us a unique town outfit that can only be obtained by completing the final story quest. Hell, make it a t-shirt, so I can at least say “I just killed Zhaitan and all I got is this lousy t-shirt”

With any of these rewards I can at least be reminded of my victory over Zhaitan. It’d give me something that I can actually use as a max geared character or to be proud of (lol).

While I agree there are a few story quests that are overtuned (like way harder than any of the missions that happened before or happen after), I think the personal story is somewhat meant as a way to teach players how to play (besides telling the story).

You’re not supposed to die lots, if you do, think of what went wrong, and what you could do to prevent it on the next attempt. Try different weapon sets, or utility skills, or different ways to approach the encounter.

Like the insipid fight to defend the queen using that piece of crap Priory gun? Where you purposefully made the allies weak, and outnumbered, and an obnoxious amount of enemies, most people can’t defeat unless they outlevel the quest, or pull them into a corner one at a time, while the allies all lie dead after ten seconds.

Battle of Claw Island? Did you honestly believe this was fun?

The defending the Queen mission isn’t really hard if you took the time to read what the weapon exactly does. One of the skills heals you fully back, one other skill kills off an undead in like 1 attack. I’ll admit, it’s not the easiest quest out there, but it certainly isn’t overtuned.

Battle of Claw Island? Is that the one where you have to kill the dragon at the end? I had someone stuck on that quest last week, and helped him with it. When asking what part he was unable to finish, he said the dragon. Apparently he never tried using ranged on it.
Just one simple change to his approach would’ve made it perfectly do-able for him. Yet, so many people refuse to use their brains and read skill descriptions or think of how to overcome a challenge.

I felt the entire dungeon journey was a journey of bonding with my guild members and it truly enriched the experience for me (And I’m pretty sure they had more fun as well). You talk about all sorts of things in between fights not just tactics.

Not to mention that you don’t learn each others playstyles well and communication/coordination can be pretty abysmal. When you do a lot of dungeons with the same people regularly you all settle into different roles, you learn each others strengths/weaknesses and assign people to tasks according to what they are best at.

The way I see it is that PUGs make each dungeon run unique. You don’t know what you’re getting. And sometimes you get a bad group, but sometimes you get an amazing group. I’d think that if I always only did dungeons with the same people over again, you’d fall into a routine and it wouldn’t feel interesting to do anymore.
On the other hand, it would be nice to have a group of people you can rely on, and to do everything the game has to offer together with. Both sides have their special ways.

If you didn’t research it before spending your money, you’re either extremely naive or didn’t care about the money, so what’s the point? Lesson learned, and move on.
If you liked heroes that much, there’s still always Guild Wars 1 for you to play.

Don’t settle for PuG’s because you ruin half the fun from doing the content (The company of good friends).

Nice and all, but what if you have friends who aren’t into dungeons, and have a guild that doesn’t want to do the difficult paths?

Arah Seer Path, winning strategies?

Ok, what I did after many hours trying to kill this thing:
Gather tears just outside the cave. Have one big pile for a designated tear thrower. Another pile of tears on the spot where your melee DPS will be hurting her.
Your tear thrower’s job is to unstone any melee DPS. Have him watch the status bars of your team, before a players gets petrified, they have a unique debuff on them so you can tell when they get petrified. The tear thrower can throw in a few ranged attacks sometimes as well, but don’t make it his focus.
When Simin stealths, have the tear thrower gather up the 3 sparks near the cave entrance, while your 3 DPS melee continue to hit the spot where she stealthed at (to slow down her regen).
Then you have 1 other guy who gathers the other 2 tears in the back of the cave. The guy in the back can come for some DPS, but make sure he gets back to the cave in time before she stealths again.
When the sparks appear, your 3 DPSers will have to unstone each other with their pile of tears, because tear thrower will be away at that time.

If you do this right, with enough DPS and fast enough spark runs, you should be able to make it.

I finished path 2 a few hours ago. Is it just me or is alpha’s attacks worse in path 2 compared to 1? His ice bursts look like they have 2 circles: the actual hit radius, and a larger radius which does nothing. That’s really confusing when you run through it the first time.

Also, his earth spike rings aren’t so bad. It’s the ice bursts that I found annoying. I think I might not want to do path 3 now.

I find him on path 1 much more annoying, because you can’t really see the earth spikes coming. On path 2 it’s easy to dodge everything he throws at you once you get the timing right.

Some enemies were hitting me, my HP dropped, to zero, then I.. died completely – no down state! o_o

Btw, it would be really nice if the combat log showed more useful information like in other MMOs.

If you get downed 3 times within a minute, then go down again, you’re instantly defeated.

In addition to the above, ressing downed players is generally top priority, unless it gets you killed yourself. If the team does resses whenever possible you’ll die a lot less, and keeps morale up.

I’d say, make sure you have at least 1-2 hours free to play. If you end up in a bad group, it can take quite long in some instances…

You can lure out the silver mobs in the next part so you only fight 2-3 at a time. Or choose to let the Inquest die to skip that part.

Yeah, the disconnect system is really a pain. It’s not a reason not to change the respawn thing, but a reason to change the disconnect thing. Sure, the change wouldn’t make the dungeons harder (at least for people who don’t die on every encounter), they would just feel harder.

This is the thing. If you’re in a decent party, it won’t make much of a difference. However, a lot of people are PUG’ing these. Yeah, I like PUGs, and my 2 guilds are afraid of the harder/longer paths in dungeons, so I’m forced to PUG if I wanna do these…
And in a PUG it would make a difference. It would pretty much kill PUG’ing because in a lot of the instances you’ll have some idiot (including myself, sometimes) mess up things for you, or something. I don’t care if you hate PUG’ing, but for many people it’s the only way they’re going to see these dungeons.
The current way dungeons work is PUG-friendly, while also offering something for the organised group.

The lack of challenge doesn’t come from the ability to graverush dungeons, but due to the lack of interesting dungeon / boss mechanics.

Now if the party fails to kill a boss they’ll pay with it with repair costs. That’s it. It allows the party to continue playing, and zerg down a boss. If that’s what they call a success, that’s good for them. A good team will do it way faster and without repair costs, that’s the reward for playing well, and in my opinion that’s good..

Thanks for you opinion. Well, the matter is more on the parties succeed to kill the boss without understanding it. They don’t enjoy is at it fullest because they did not understand the boss design, they think that dying is part of the intended strategies, they are disappointed of the repair system, they think some abilities are unavoidable (lack of understanding the boss mechanics, remember? I haven’t yet seen any and have done most of the exp paths), and the only thing standing between good and bad players is some silver coins. My opinion is that dungeon designs are overlooked by too many players and good players feels poorly rewarded for understanding those, build strategies and play as a group. This is one of the reasons why the those ask for more chanlenging/end-game dungeons.

While that’s true, the enjoyment for them comes once they figure out the actual boss mechanics and learn to kill it like a pro. I used to think it was ok to finish a dungeon even with a lot of deaths, but since then I have been enjoying finding out ways to get me through without dying (as much).
In my opinion that’s reward enough. Sure, harder bosses would be nice, but none of the bosses would actually be really harder without the ability to graverush them. It’d just make them more tedious and frustrating, because most boss fights are way too shallow. Hacking on a beast using the same attack over again for 10 minutes, and then get kicked out of an instance because of a simple mess-up (even for something as simple like a disconnect…) wouldn’t be fun, nor would it make the dungeon harder.

Harder content is good, as long as it brings interesting boss mechanics with it, that put player skill to the test. Giganticus is a good example, because he actually has several different phases with different attacks and mechanics going on. And even though your party can return to the fight, it isn’t a very short run (depending on the path), it’s still easy for an unorganised party to wipe during that time.

This area was supposed to be hooked up before launch but we got swamped and the script I wrote didn’t get submitted to localization in time. It WILL get hooked up and operational at some point. (Though everyone is actually MORE swamped with post launch content than before we shipped, it seems) What really sucks is that it can be seen from outside, which really ruins the effect. It’s not supposed to look like UFOs or be reminiscent of anything alien. and Ceiling Cat was going to be a super secret Easter egg that only a very few would ever see. What sucks more is that this is one of those projects I did almost entirely on my free time (as is the fragmented garden statue of Caudicus and the Lion’s Arch Lion sculpture) and it’s getting out there in a completely stupid ugly way. I’m not blaming anyone but us. It’s totally natural and healthy for fans to poke at every corner to find this kind of stuff. Just makes me sad that something that was supposed to have a very specific mood is ruined for a lot of people now. anyway, I appreciate you guys bringing it to our attention.

That’s sad. You should ask if they could put this on higher priority so it makes it into the game?^^ I just went here earlier today, and it looks really creepy (in an awesome way)… I want to know what the real story is behind this place.

The big golems don’t respawn, so if the team isn’t able to hack the console with the big golems in the room, you can go kill them safely outside the hacking room.

Found that secret and another in cursed shore too. My quick guess it will be a future event or even secret event. And if you gone to the house besides that ufo thing you will realize it exist a door which is closed so it could be that this door exactly leads to this ufo thing.

Personally I don’t mind the current way dungeons are done. I didn’t like the Guild Wars 1 system where the whole party got kicked from the instance upon a party wipe, it’s just a massive time sink. A bad motivator for a lot of people to get back to dungeons, because they know they’ll likely waste their time if the party gets wiped again.

Now if the party fails to kill a boss they’ll pay with it with repair costs. That’s it. It allows the party to continue playing, and zerg down a boss. If that’s what they call a success, that’s good for them. A good team will do it way faster and without repair costs, that’s the reward for playing well, and in my opinion that’s good.

If they’d make dungeons like the old Guild Wars 1 instances, barely anyone would run them anymore. How do I know? Just look at Guild Wars 1 where the only people running them are cookie-cutters and speedclearers. People are so afraid to try anything different in the elite instances, because all of their time is wasted if they mess up once in them.
The Guild Wars 2 dungeon design allows people to try different things, to experiment, and still reward people for it at the end.

Path 1 is ok, but agree on path 2 and 3.
Honor of the Waves feels very bland and uninspired. Mobs aren’t challenging or interesting whatsoever, but have tons of HP. Like on path 2 when you fight two of the same bosses (but with different attacks) in a row, and they have a kittenload of HP on them. Both fights are incredibly easy and shallow, but take so long to down. The underwater parts are just as bad, with a ton of mobs with high HP.

Indeed, I’m in Alpha’s face fulltime as an Elementalist with dual daggers, and only go down if I accidently dodge at the wrong times. I don’t see how you can tank Alpha, because he targets people constantly at random.
