It sounds like you will get different materials in different amounts from ascended armor and weapons, but all will have a chance at dark matter, and it sounds like matrices will be exclusive to ascended rings.
Atleast thats how I read it.

I am glad they didnt add heroes in this game. After the addition of heroes in GW1 people just stopped playing together. It wouldn’t be suitable to have them in a MMO. The game is supposed to incite or even mandate cooperation with others.

http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Well it just got that much harder to move guild members in other servers into Yak’s Bend that want to experience WvW with their friends. Give people another reason not to want to WvW.
Anet seems to have tunnel vision when it comes to metrics. Yeah this might make since on paper but people forget that people have a choice not to play WvW and are more likely not to play if they can’t play with their friends. Moving servers and the cost of moving servers is a huge barrier to this mode.
I see some players constantly posting how to make WvW more popular. Making it harder to get your friends together to play this mode is going to make it less popular. They will play another mode or a game they can play together.
Its just another reason highlighting how fundamentally WvW and the server system is broken and Anet has no idea how to fix it. Anet is leaving it to the player base to achieve balance. When has that ever worked?
They really need to somehow invent a guild WvW rating/reward/leader-board system and assign guilds to tiered worlds seasonally.

Looking for a guild that is large enough to get things done but small enough that people know your name, that appreciate your contributions, and that has the opportunity to make some friends that play regularly?
Xunlai Heroic Service Agents [XHSA] is looking for quality members of any experience that are not just looking to be another name on the roster but looking for a community to establish friendships with their fellow members.
In addition to our already strong end game PvE presence, below is a link to our reddit recruitment page with our current initiatives as well as our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming, website for basic guild information.
http://pandorumgaming.net/clan/guild-wars-2/
For a quick Summary.
XHSA has been a Guild Wars guild for over a decade now and is based in Yak’s Bend, but we accept PvE and PvP members from anywhere. We participate in all areas of the game, but focus on building community and making new members feel welcome.
This guild is a socially focused guild that holds the objective of building community above all other things. This guild was not founded by some clique of friends you never seem to be on the level with. Everyone was complete strangers when they came in and together we formed a community by reaching out to each other and trying to include everyone.
We exercise the philosophy that a guild should focus on the quality of their membership over the quantity on the roster. It is NOT our goal to pack as many people in our guild as it can hold to serve the egos of the leadership. Our goal as the leadership is to attract quality members to build a positive community and to serve the interests of all our members. Our guild keeps the roster count between 150-250 and we clear out our inactive and non-representing players every month.
If you have any questions about the guild or would like an invite, please feel free to contact me in game on Mireles Lore.5942

I have gotten 7 armor chests from various dungeon reward tracks. Its probably the best way to get them. Just horde your boxes and then one day stack all the magic find u can on you and open them.

They are very well capable of having a mechanic that “turns” players.
Those that were around for the end of the first beta weekend will tell you so.
The branded zombie apocalypse in Plains of Ashford was the most epic event GW2 ever had. Branded invaded the area. If you were killed by branded you re-spawned as a branded and attacked other players and turned them too.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
After our monthly removal of inactive and non-participant members we are looking for a handful of people looking for a community to restore or usual numbers. Come join us for the fun.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Been doing this guild leader thing for about 10 years. I too feel your pain. Many of us that perfered the living story format as it kept people logging in did not want this kinda pick it up burn the content up and drop it until the next expansion format.
Many guilds are experiencing this. My regulars that I have seen nearly everyday for 2 and a half years have also stopped logging in. I am clearing out 40-60 inactives a month as before it was 20-40. I have seen droughts like these many times before, but with this game it seems specifically severe because of the lack of end game. And with no light at the end of the tunnel that would be a release date it is only set to get worse. The living story and regular updates was what kept people coming back. GW2 has already lost so many players confidence and attention. If this expansion flops it could very well be the end of GW2.
What I have and usually resort to is turning my focus my goals to that of newer players and cranking up the effort to recruit them. I know you stated you aren’t interested in assisting new players but if you run a veteran’s guild it will go the way veteran’s are going now, inactive. There are alot of new and returning players looking for a community that is willing to take them in and teach them, not so many willing to do so.
Currently, my guild is more active than its ever been. It is a bitter sweet taste though as my roster looks nothing like it did in February. The bitter, I have removed alot of people I did not want to see go, but left them a mail in hopes when they return they will come home. The sweet, I have met many new and wonderful people, seen friendships and bonds form out of what used to be total strangers that brought new life into the guild and our teamspeak. It is always exhilarating to see your guild reborn.
I guess what I am trying to say to my fellow leaders is dont give up. Remember its not just the content that makes the game fun its also the people you play it with. Reach out to new and returning players even if you have nothing to gain game wise from it. Make a point to reach out to someone that doesn’t have friends in this game and be thier friend, recruit them, and watch your circle grow. You have everything to gain to have a strong guild for your veterans to return to when the expansion hits.
Good luck out there.

Sorry Sephiroth I am just seeing this message as I was out for the 4th of July weekend on vacation. I will be sure to reach out to you in-game tonight see if you are still interested.
We are still taking recruits in this month for anyone that are interested.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Thats cute.
Try 7000+ hours. No precursor drop.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Alot of steady growth. We almost have over 200 active members now, even after clearing out 40 in last months activity check. We are looking for a few more before we stop recruiting to let people get to know each other before we grow some more.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Info for the 3rd.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Thats what I figure until they announce the first beta weekend we are well over 3 months until release happens. Heck they are just now getting around to a closed WvW beta.
I fully believe that they throw out “stress tests” (not even betas) whenever they need to kill time. I can guarantee next week will be another week with no new info, why? Cause man oh man, it is gonna take the entire team to handle this “stress test” which not everyone will be able to play, but lets alienate everyone with no new info ;-)
They clearly have nothing new to show and it alarms me. This game, I feel, is far from being done, just makes me sad, I can’t continue to let myself hold out hope for this game anymore. Currently looking at other MMO’s I can sink my time into.
Exactly why I havent prepurchased. They way the are handling the content gap, news, and the lack of release date is absolutely alarming. They are selling something strictly based on hype and some info on features with no release date.
Who does that? How do we know that its still not a year off and will still be interested when it does come. If this was really something to be worth the wait and the price. I’d think they would have something more to show us.
If this was being described to me without names and titles. Id say this is what EA games does before the release a crap game with a favorite classic title slapped on it.

This is the result of giving the people what they wanted. I preferred the LS route, it was a change, but you (not you OP) people wanted an expansion because this mystic expansion. Supposedly, was going to make all your dreams come true and turn gw2 into the MMO you dreamt off.
Well, this is what it is. The ls was the best thing about this game and you people have ruined it for me anyways.
I agree. Anet gave into a bunch of players that were not even playing the game and are still not until the expansion comes out. Then when the content drys up. Won’t be playing again. ArenaNet has pretty much taken a crap on its loyal following for hyped up quick sales.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
The game is in a sad state for sure. This is exactly what I didnt want to see. Long periods without content updates. Though living world and event udates were small they kept my guild logging in.
My guild, my friends list, If I showed these things to my former self back in Febuary, there would be little that would be familiar. Though larger and more active than it was then I would not know anyone I know today than back then.
It is now a constant cycle of receuiting new and returning players coming in. Then getting to level 80 or checking out whats new then dropping off the game from lack of content. Many long time consistant players have gotten tired of waiting and moved on. I thought the LA patch would bring many of them back, but nope.
The game has lost more veterians than some people would like to believe and those are the people that woukd have stuck around after the expansion loses its initial “new” factor. Expansions don’t retain players. They drive then away until it comes out, brings them back for awhile, then they are gone again. You would think with the genstore model arena net woukd want to retain players.

Hello aophts,
I have seen your recruitment posts and as a guild leader that has lead a guild compromised of people that were once complete strangers I just want to offer some advice. I see alot of people that are in your shoes that try to market thenselves in a simular manner.
One of the reasons I choose not to reach out to you as a leader is because how your posts are worded. Very specific and very demanding. It doesn’t seem like you are looking for a community to be a part of but instead are looking for personal party fillers. In one of your seeking posts you even listed a requirement that the guild should run with you everyday.
In my experience people that try to sell themselves in this way have joined many guilds and leave within 48 hours, because they expect instant gradification of what they are looking for and red carpet treatment. And if at any given moment they are not getting exactly what they want and personally invited to runs, there gone. These people are not worth a leaders time.
If this sounds at all familiar to you may need to adjust your expectations, if not I apologize if I offended you. “Friendly” guilds can only meet people half way its up to you to go the other half. You may have a little bit more patience with a new guild and not leave because they arnt engaging you right at that moment. Volunteer for runs even if there are not part of your goals instead of waiting to be personally invited. Engage people in conversation in guild chat or voice server.
Friendship often doesn’t fall in your lap by hitting the join button it takes time and effort in all parties involved. I hope you find this advice helpful. I wish you the best of luck.

http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
I just want to say we had alot of quality people join this week. Everyone has been more than willing to integrate into the community, form new friendships, and participate in teamspeak.
The Lions Arch event we held this week really brought everyone new and old together. I look forward to continuing to put in the effort to make XHSA a fun and successful environment in the years to come. Can’t do it without people like y’all. Come join the fun.
Welcome to the guild. It is a privilege to have you with us.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Gawd forbid a MMO have OPTIONAL content that encourages people to reach outside thier small circle of friends and include, communicate, coordinate with other people.
Arena Net isnt alienating anyone. The vast majority of pve content is aimed towards 5 player parties. Its absolutely your choice not to grow your guild membership or reach out to others that limits you. You exlude yourself from large scale content by refusing the effort to become large scale. Thats fine stick to dungeons, fractals, and living story. Thats your small “guild” content.
Now people want to make sure its not large scale and demanding that you are able 3-5 man it? Thats just selfish. Why even go large scale if u can just 5 man it like everything else? Guilds that actually reach out to people that don’t have spouses and pre-established friends in this game and built a community need goals to band together for that can include everyone at once. We dont have that beyond the the handful of stale over 2 year old guild missions.
The only thing stopping people from guild content is themselves. The choice is there to grow your guild or join another for everyone. Just because you refuse the choice doesnt mean Arena net is alienating you or should cater the content to your choice.
I really hope the devs are not taking this thread seriously. Guilds need large scale content that actually require large scale coordination.

This information is also posted on reddit. On that page you can read some comments some members have posted about the time they have spent with XHSA.
Intro.
Xunlai Heroic Service Agents [XHSA] is undergoing several recruitment initiatives in preparation for the upcoming expansion and its content. We are a decade old guild since the days of Guild Wars 1. We have a high focus of putting people and community first and hold this value most important over all other objectives. In this guild you will not only find people to play with but a community to belong to. Our guild strives to be fully inclusive of all members to whether or not you been here several years or a few days. We welcome all players regardless of experience, class, or skill levels to join us for the fun and the challenges the expansion will being us. Below are our recruitment initiatives, feel free to become a part of any or all that interest you.
Primary Initiative.
XHSA is a socially focused guild. We try to seek out players not only interested in a particular game mode but also interested in being a part of a community and make some friends. This guild was not founded by some clique of friends you never seem to be on the level with. Everyone here were complete strangers when they came in and together we formed a community by reaching out to each other and trying to include everyone. So if you are looking for not only just another guild to join, but looking to be part of something and make some friends. We welcome you to join us.
New Player Initiative.
XHSA is and has been seeking out players new to the game to join our ranks. Here you will find people make friends and grow with. It is our objective to build rapport and loyalty with new members by offering advice, offering assistance, to overall help you reach your goals, and include you on our dungeon/fractal runs so that you may feel comfortable joining other or starting your own runs. We feel that the influx of new players to the game is the perfect opportunity to solidify our base loyalty members. If you join us an honest effort will be made to include you in game and within our community.
PvP Initiative.
XHSA is looking for people interested in being a part of team sPvP. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of previous experience. We has always been casual when it comes to the PvP Scene and have a wide range of ranked players. Many of our members have gotten into PvP the last few months and teams will be formed soon according to rank and skill level. Currently 3 teams are being planned but more will be formed based on participation.
Guild Hall/Content Initiative.
XHSA is seeking people interested in the new guild content. We currently have 1.2 million influence to convert to the new system and have done guild missions every week since their release without fail. We are looking for people that wish to help take our hall from the enemy, build, decorate, scribe, battle, complete guild missions every Friday, and other objectives that will be set to improve our hall.
WvW Initiative.
XHSA has been out of the rotation for WvW for a long time, but now that the mode is getting love after years we are looking to get back in. We are looking for players interested in small group runs. Most of us are based in Yak’s Bend you will need to be on this world to participate. Our WvW nights are currently being scheduled for Mon. and Wed. We have 5-10 people participating on these nights. If roaming/raiding parties are something that interest you, now is a great time to join.
Interested?
If these things interest you I strongly encourage you check our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming website. Here will find information on our rep policy (full rep not required), philosophy, ranks, and other helpful information.

Hello Xehanort,
I lead a guild in Yak’s Bend that may interest you. We are a community focused guild that dabbles in just about everything. Our roster is about 190 right now and we are most active at 8-12pm in your time zone.
Dungeons and Fractals are one of these things that are ran on nearly a daily basis. We don’t really care much for the dungeon meta as they don’t really call for extremes like that unless you are speed clearing or farming. That is not us. We run them strictly for the fun of having something to do as a guild.
We do have a teamspeak channel in our sponsor’s teamspeak server that we use on a regular basis every evening in the US time zone for guild runs or to just socialize.
Currently our guild missions are ran every Friday 1 hour after reset. We usually have 20-30 people show up for these and is the guilds most active night.
To read more about us you can visit our most recent recruitment post where you can read about our initiatives we are recruiting for as well as some comments from some of our members.
Also, you can view our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming, website for information about our philosophy, rep policy, ranks, and other details.

This is for weapon and armor currently – weapons use the same recipe as armor to stat change except they use inscriptions to allow you to change instead of insignias.
Alas yes it does destroy the runes and sigils in the item, the mystic forge doesn’t currently have a way to allow us to do this kind of stat changing without it working that way.
Also: Shout out to Matt P and Linsey who did all the hard work to make this possible
Thanks for that clarification. I will be anxiously anticipating a sale on upgraxe extractors to get my 250 T6 material infusions out.
Great change, makes transition easier for those of us with alot invested in our gear.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
I wonder if this is via the mystic forge or what. I do have so very expensive infusions in my gear would hate to lose them.
http://xunlaiheroes.wix.com/xhsa
Legendary Gear will remain the gear that can freely change stats any time.
So would it be unreasonable to assume ledgendary armor and trinkets are coming? ::nudge nudge, wink wink::

All this fuss over pricing is getting ridiculous. It has turned into “I AM ENTITLED TO FREE STUFF!!!! Raagh ANET IS GREEDY!!!!”
This whole thing reminds me of when my nephew threw a fit that his mom wouldnt buy him candy at the check out line when he saw another kids mom buy her son something…. but you know… with adults instead.
I don’t think you get it. “The core game is free.”
Cool where is my extra account?
“You already bought the game so you don’t get one.”
Wait what?
“We will reward your loyalty by letting you pay the same price!”How is this not a slap in the face?
I guess I dont feel entitled to free stuff simply because they are offering something I already own for free. Why should I? Because little jimmy at the check out got candy and I didnt?
I think its good that new players can get the full game for the price of the expansion, it keeps the community from fracturing, everyone new will have the same access. As a guild leader I dont have to worry about incoming players not being able to join us in the expansion.
Only people this is a slap in the face for are people with a entitled attitude, you are at no disadvantage by other ppll getting the core game for free.
Let’s say you are little Jimmy’s mom and decide to buy little Jimmy a bar of candy at the checkout. You look at the price and it is $5. You don’t believe that an ordinary bar of candy is worth $5 and decide not to buy it if that price doesn’t include something more than just a simple bar of candy. Is this an entitled attitude in your eyes? If so, then I’m afraid we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Because in my eyes it is simply economics.
Then what you do is don’t buy it and take your business elsewhere. Not throw a fit and tell the vendor that this is a slap in the face because you feel entitled to something more. The vendor owes us nothing.
If you dont feel that the price of the expansion is worth it, wait for the price to go down. I promise you it will.
But to call a free offer a slap in the face simply because it doesn’t benifit you then feel entitled to something else and demand the vendor compensate you, thats what I find ludicrous about whats going on in this community today.

Wow the entitlement and selfishness on this thread is strong. Think people need a little bit of perspective.
Oh so you spent 60 bucks when it came out and feel cheated because new players get the core game for free? Plz. Your 60 bucks purchased way more for you than what new players will get from the core game. You got content that new players will never experiance. You got the entiery living story 1 that was over a year of regular updates. New players will never see that. In edition to that you got living story 2 for free. Something that new players will have to purchase. If you took advantage of what you paid for was totally up to you, but your 50 bucks paid for way more than what new players are getting for free.
Offering the core game with the expansion make since. If you want to sell as many copies as you can, which Anet does, you don’t want sales restricted or discounted to people that already have the game. One product for all people. Majority of people will pay the 50 bucks for the expansion reguardless. This is anet targeting a broader market.
The price of the expansion is just that for the expansion. Its like people here want new players to be charged more or bring down the price of the expansion just because. That makes no since. You want to be inclusive to a wider market not just current players. I have never seen such an entitled and one sided community. We seem to want it all right now for insanely cheap.
Only this community can rage so hard over something being given away for free.

Depending on when the patch goes live…
Xunlai Heroic Service Agents [XHSA], sponsored by Pandorum Gaming, will be gathering around where the lion statue fountain used to be on the Lion’s Court POI around 8PM Central time (hour after reset) the day of the patch (23rd?). We are on Yak’s Bend [NA].
There will likely be Kegs, Feasts, Boxes o Fun, particle effects, drunk people, and compromising screen shots. We are very excited to see and explore Lions Arch restored after being there for the invasion over a year ago.

They need to add a legendary tier armor to be consistent with the gear tiers. They could use ascended as a precursor for it.

What kind of proposal is this?
I lead a guild wars that is vastly PvE with some members that are just starting to get into PvP. I am rank 80 myself and would love some more pvp memebers to pull more players into the mode.
If you are part of a pvp group looking for an established PvE guild that does regular dungeon, fractal, and guild mission runs we can oblige. Right now our roster is about 190, have 1.2 million influence, and have been a guild for a decade since GW1 release.
You can read about us on our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming, website.

I am finding the information about the change to leveling and related items a bit lacking.
It was said that level 80 characters don’t get skill point when leveling up and will loot spirit shards. I assume that this is going to be related to mastery when you level. But what will happen when a player maxes all masterys? Does exp then become useless to that player? Will mastery points pool or will there be simply nothing to gain once u get to the max exp pool?
I find it a bit odd that you would reward all these tomes and writs only to be made ineffective to people that are level 80 that were hoping to use these towards mastery. Unless the Mystic Forge vender is getting a revamp these shards are going to be just as usless as or tedious as to extract wealth from as skill points.

Stacking is a result of pve being to easy.
If they had mobs that were deadly, hit hard enough, or had aoe attacks that were more sophisticated like causing blind to the point that you had to avoid them. Stacking wouldnt work.
As it stands right now, you can ne wearing gear that offers no defensive stats and your party doesnt have to move out of a stack.

Hello Megadeth,
I lead a guild based in Yak’s Bend called [XHSA]. We are currently focusing our recruitment on players such as yourself looking for a guild to help them become effective at reaching their goals.
[XHSA] is a 10 year old guild that has existed since Guild Wars 1. With currently over 1.2 million influence, you can be certain this guild would make a solid home for however long you play Guild Wars.

Hello Aophts.
I lead a guild based in Yak’s Bend that might interest you. We are [XHSA] and have been a guild for a decade now since Guild Wars 1 release. Our roster size hovers between 150-200 members as we have a “Quality over Quantity” philosophy on membership. We are most active in the evenings US time with 20-30 people on every night.
[XHSA] has a heavy presense in PvE that you are looking for but we also sPvP if there ever comes a time you would like to get into that. We do dungeons on a regular basis and do not mind taking the time to teach you whatever run we happen to be doing that night. Our goal is to build confidence of our members in doing this runs so more will be ran. We also do fractals if these interest you and members are always doing world bosses.
We also make use of teamspeak 3 and welcome you to come join us on it.
If this interests you, you can read more about us on our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming, website.

Hello Chesh,
I lead a casual guild based in Yak’s Bend that may be of interest to you. Our roster of 150 might be a little bigger than what you are looking for, but we have a focus on community and making everyone feel welcome and provide members with the opportunity to make friends. We are most active in the late evening hours US time. If you are looking for a group to belong to and grow with we are always happy to provide a learning environment for newer players. I think you will find what you are looking for here and your boyfriend and roommate are also welcome to join us if you wish.
The guild regularly runs dungeons, fractals, and sPvP teams. We are always willing to take on players new to these activities and offer advice on how to play these areas. Runs are on a first come first serve basis. We also run guild missions every week, currently on Friday nights. Also, we have a sizeable monthly raffle for members to try their luck and win some prizes.
The guild does make use of teamspeak every evening to socialize. Although we do not require members to log onto it when they are on the game, you will be expected to have it available to use (listen) when on dungeon, fractal, and spvp runs. We will not obligate you to speak unless you find it comfortable to do so.
If this interests you I encourage you to visit our clan page on our sponsor’s, Pandorum Gaming, website. Here you will find information on our philosophy, focus, policies, and ranks.

Very happy to have the people that have joined us these past few weeks. I have found y’all to be very socially engaged and a great addition to the guild.
Our recruitment is still open for those looking for a community to belong to. We are very prepared for the expansion ahead with 1.2 million influence saved up for guild content, are getting new players up to speed to join in on end game content, and building a group mentality to go into the expansion with together ad a guild.
Come join us for the fun.

It really just isnt fun for anyone queuing solo went from a 54% ratio to under 40% because the majority of the time im facing teams. I just don’t understand why someone would think it was smart to eliminate the arena casuals play in favor of teams having lesser groups to face and have ranked and unranked instead of solo and team arena.
I have tried to come back to pvp 3 times now after taking weeks off after having 7-10 game lose streaks with only a few wins in-between. PvP is just not fun anymore most are blow out matches and a waste of my time.

I got to say the no new content has left a really bad taste In my mouth. Never has this game seen a content dry spell this massive. No Queens Pavilion, Festival of the Four winds, No WvW tourney like we saw between seasons 1 and 2. The announcement of the xpac has brought about what I always feared. A burn it and drop it content style MMO just like all the others.
Anet gave into all those people the demanded an expansion but were not actively playing the game and has turned its back on the players looking to stay engaged and build communities the last few months. The change in players activity is undeniable. The majority of the players now are players that just purchased the game.
It seems like Anet has lost the objective of making a quality product that keeps people engaged in the game and is now focused on features, monetization, and keeping thier log on and sales metrics looking good without putting in the effort to keep players engaged. When it was implied that developing content was to much work for not enough pay off I took this as a really bad sign.
They hype has gone down for me and it seems like many others. This expansion has gone from a pleasant bonus to something that is either going to meet players expectations and make this dry spell worth it or be a flop that can hurt the active base of the game. The longer it takes before anything new the higher people’s expectations are going to get.
For the first time in the 10 years I have been playing this franchise I am starting to wonder if I should start looking to another franchise to dedicate my time and effort building a community in. Currently half my guild logs in regularly if not daily, but its just for the log in reward or the 20 min of daily completion. There is nothing new to engage communities into something to accomplish together.
New and returning plays ask me how the end game doing in the game currently/whats new? I just kinda shrug and tell them the things that have been around and unchanged for years, and oh, you can also pay for living story episode 2. What happened to 1? You wont be able to experiance that entire year and a half of the game. Even alot of the people recruited the first sale got to 80, did a few dungeons, fractals, pvp and found the game has little to offer without regular updates and have stopped logging in.
I really hope Anet delivers. I hope that there are more maps they are letting on. More content to do together. Something more than what they currently showed us. All we can do is wait and see.
