I am on a huge lose streak on soloq too. I am coming up on 10 losses in a row playing over the last two days. I used to float around 55% win ratio until this crap match making. It seems the systems wants to keep you around a 50% win ratio and expects you to carry your whole team if you are higher. If I get a few points higher, I am matched with really bad people until I drop below 50% to between 48-49. Then I can play with players that don’t double stack home at start, chase people across the map, fight off point, or cap points and leave them to be imminently re-caped by the enemy . Until that is until I get around 51% win ratio. Then the cycle starts again. This isn’t fun.

I really enjoy the people I game with on a daily basis and like to think I have made some close friends even though I have never met many of em. It feels a bit odd that I have known some since they started high school and to know them as they become drinking age adults going to college, learning a trade, and starting jobs like I was when I met them. It makes me feel like I’m getting a bit old.

It is my guess that it is because the only new dungeon path they ever made was poorly received. It is really the only dungeon path you have to complete as intended and it is probably the least ran of then all. This is not something developers want to spend thier time making if it is just going to sit unplayed by most of the community. So the team was disbanded.
It is my understanding that dungeons are not a particular enjoyable experiance because of the actual content presented but the rewards derived from it. People take the path of least resistance to farm the rewards. How many people actually kill every mob in a dungeon and do all the fights as presented and not run past them or use the “cheese” way to win the fight? I have yet to see people do this.
So in short. I think they haven’t been making them because the actual content isnt well received compaired to other things they could be working on. Who knows though we might be pleasently surprised and see a dungeon in HOT.

It is important to distinguish max titles from monuments. Alot of these you can earn the monument way way before you max the title. Some monuments don’t have titles.
Like underworld, fow, urgoz, the deep have monuments but not titles.
You can get the monuments for most pvp and faction titles at rank 3 but they will not be maxed until rank 12. Also luck, unlucky and treasure hunter are simular to this.
Your gauge of how many max titles you have should be the in game title panel. Not the HoM calculator.
GWAMM and Champion of the Gods are two seperate achivements. One is 30 max titles the other is 50 HoM points.

I dont think urgoz and the deep had titles.
The easiest 30 max titles will be all the pve titles.
You will need to do.
All missions, easy and hard mode with bonus.
Vanquish all areas
Explorer all of the map
Capture all elite skills
Max both sunspear and light bringer titles
Max all eotn race titles
Get two out of three sweet tooth, drunk, and party consumable titles
Get survivor and the pre searing title
That should get you to 30 titles.
I personally was a gw1 phanatic and had 36 max titles before I stopped playing for gw2. If you have any questions I will answer then the best I can in game on guild wars 2.

It is supposed to be hard to get around the mapp in wvw. Its a battle for territory. If you had easy access to the entire map it would be an endless respawn and run back to the battle.
Sorry you are going to just have to be more sneaky and take the paths less traveled to get to your group or wait for then to return to base. That is the price of death in wvw. You cant just have a unit that poops its own army at all times because you find it inconvient to travel.

Dragon mask looks great and better texture and dye options than what was in guild wars 1.

This has happened to me when I’ve been downed mid air and fell all the way to the the bottom of the map and was able to rally and wp back…. you can actually swim to the maps below you with this bug.

Ascended armor wasn’t put in the game for people to farm out in a few days or even a few weeks. It was always meant to be a long term goal, otherwise it would be just a slightly more expensive version of exotic. That is why you can’t straight up buy ascended gear. There is a reason why they time gated the materials and laurels, to encourage and reward people for playing constantly.
This armor was put in the game for the sole purpose of giving players a long term progression goal even if it is only around a 5% increase.
No, you do not deserve a short cut because you obtained exotic gear before ascended or feel that you shouldn’t have to “wait in line”.
Just because you took a long break and want to catch up now doesn’t entitle you to special treatment and change the game for everyone just because you feel you are behind now. Put in the same time and dedication everyone else had to.

It’s the ultimate way to troll a winning team. I wish they would fix this and think achievements out better. Right now I am not even trying to win a db. I’ve gotten swapped to the losing team so many times. Now I just run around collect health orbs and kick people for the AP so I don’t have a reason to be there for more than 2 games a day.

The achievement system is pretty screwed up as it is…. caps on the daily but no other time sensitive achievement pools does not make any since. Really the daily is the only hope new players had the means to catch up after veteran players stopped logging everyday. Now it’s just fill your caps first and just coast to stay in the lead.
Personally I rather have daily uncapped and repeatable AP changed into tiered completed achievements. After I hit the cap in about a year I still want to continue unlocking AP chests without having to grind out wvw achievements

I doubt u will have missed much and usually daily event points go towards daily cap. People that are not stuck at work are earning points towards that cap that you can later.

The fact of the matter is that stealth remains to be the only mechanic in the game that does not have a counter available to all classes. You can enter all the conjecture and personal opinion on who deserves what kill or what is cheese and what isn’t. With the exception of sic em’ and analyze, stealth does not have a direct counter for 6 out of 8 classes. This is a fact.
No, dropping aoe and using cleaves are not counters. That would be like if condition removal, stun breakers, and stability didn’t exist then proceed to suggest regen, dodging, and interrupts were the counters to thier respective mechanics. A counter is one mechanic specifically designed to neutralize another.
How one would balance this is totally up for debate but I think revealed needs to be made available to all classes just like every other counter in the game.

The only problem I have with stealth is that, with a few exceptions, it’s the only mechanic in the game with out a direct counter. It would be like if stability didn’t exist and you were expected to predict and dodge all knockdown.
I find it a bit ridiculous that the only way you know if you hit a stealthed thief is that your auto attack chain continues or he sets off a trap or mark. A thief should have to avoid your attacks to stay stealthed. Or at least have a better indication that u have hit something.

Roster size is 150. We have about 10-35 online and repping at any given time. I would say the majority of the guild logs on regular basis just not all at the same time. We clear out people that don’t log or observed not repping very often on a monthly basis with the exception of a hand full of people that have been part of the guild for years.

I may have a guild that might interest you. I lead a guild of about 150 that is mostly pve and based in Yaks bend. We might be a bit more casual than what you are looking for as we do have some speed clear people in our guild but also people that play casually and may not use the most effective builds. We do however do dungeons and fractals on nearly a daily basis and get them done in a timely manner while being inclusive to all our members. Other activities we do in pve is world bosses and living story related content. We also host guild missions every Friday with huge turn out.
We do make use of teamspeak and are on there every night. We get started during the evenings US time having a good time, laughing, and making a few inappropriate jokes. Things can also get kindy of salty at times but it is all in good fun. Our runs are far from silent.

Sometimes I wonder if the last 4 number on our accounts is the seed for the random number generator. If that’s the case it’s still random… but we are just stuck with the seed that was randomly generated forever. They might be lucky and unlucky seeds. There is no such thing as a perfect RNG generator. Just equations and theorems that give the appearance of random.

We are well aware of that link. It really wasn’t clear. It said they are merging the caps and that we would be able to continue to work towards the maximum points for the daily achievement system. It doesn’t make it clear that the points earned for the monthly are included in the cap and since they didn’t merge the two pools visually it makes it even more unclear.

Someone from Anet confirmed it’s the merge between daily and monthly. So the cap is now 15k.

Uncapping everything wont work. Some things give a lot easier xp than others. What would you do? Salvaging a few thousand items or craft a 2nd legendary you already owned before for 25 AP? It makes all hard and time consuming achievements useless if you have easy uncapped achievements.
I hope Gaile Gray will come in and tell us wether its a combined cap or if dailies are 15k now + the old monthly AP.
That achievement I would think should have been like thurstslayer track. I probably should have mentioned unlimited repeatables shouldn’t reward AP. I remember when they were uncapped I saw someone with 35k AP lol
But yeah I agree. I hope anet didn’t just gate a bunch of people out of another few thousand AP. As someone that has all permanent AP but hasn’t been here every day or even week to earn all dailies and monthlies this would be a punch in the gut.

The achievement system is pretty screwed up anyway… they added caps to daily but half the AP in the game is temporary, unattainable, and uncapped. The ladder is kind of meaningless if it’s not a matter of competition but being here every day since head start.
Everything needs to have a cap to have a maximum AP obtainable for everyone regardless of start time. Or everything needs to be uncapped to make it a contest of dedication, resources, and time spent. To cap only particular things after a particular date just serves to lock everyone into maximum points possible that is different for nearly every player and makes it easier for people at the top to hold their lead not having to compete after they reach all the caps and having all the AP others missed out on.
There needs to be the same max for everyone at all times regardless of time started or event missed or there needs to be no max at all.

I thought I would try a Minion master build in PvP today. After a few matches and 1 vrs 1 situations I saw that half the situations minions literally sit there and do nothing.

Quality over Quantity Membership:
Here at XHSA we take pride in keeping our roster active and clean. So you can expect that our roster is not inflated with people not active in this guild. We remove people that do not represent often or have become inactive in the game. What you see is what you actually get. While we do take pride in keeping our roster clean. Members returning from inactivity are always welcome back.
This is not an alt “join it and forget it until guild events” guild. New members (Initiates) are expected to represent regularly during the time they spend online. Initiates are checked every month for activity and are removed every month if they have not logged on and represented within the last monthly check, or are seen online and excessively not representing for the vast majority of time they spend online.
We do offer guests invites to nearly all of our events and welcome repeat guests, so please keep this in mind when considering our guild. Collections didn’t make me do dungeons any more than I used to…. PvP tracks are way faster and is what I am doing anyway.

Sorry but most if not all of the living story instances are already fail proof. The bosses in all of these don’t reset when you die. You can die 100 times and pick at the bosses bar until you win. The only way to lose is to quit.
The only people that I have seen have trouble with this are the people that have the “hit start and face roll my skill bar” mentality and refuse to critically think, observe the mechanics of bosses, and read the descriptions of its skills and buffs. The refuse to change their strategy, traits, and skills to adapt to a situation and when they fail call it to hard, give up, and come here to complain.
This game is already slanted to the “everyone is a winner” mentality doesn’t need to be pushed more in that direction. Anet took a huge step in the right direction with the enemies in this living story. I don’t wanna go back to enemies with stupid large health pools that have little chance of killing you while you stack and spank them for 5 minutes.

I have thought about this too.
My idea was more along the lines of the game giving you a indicator buff every 20-25% and at the end reward the appropriate number of upwards scaling bonus chests. Much like tequatl. It is entirely to profitable not to be jumping maps. I have anet makes this adjustment going forward.

Well I wouldn’t be opposed to a token system but I think my “farmed into mediocrity” still applies even if account bound when it comes to motivation of acquisition. One could argue that many people want the account bound skins because of a since of prestige. If everyone and their mom can farm it out in 10 runs people might lose their motivation to even play it. Which I suspect is the rationale Anet is using.
As for gold inflation… it is very hard to land a equilibrium in terms of making it rewarding while keeping the economy intact. Anet can only control the rate of production. We control the actual production. If triple trouble was all of a sudden the most time profitable thing in excess to do, production would explode because people would flock to it exponentially effectively devaluing the rest of the reward in the game. Which is why I think the rewards are more focused on activities that are the most accessible to everyone and what they want players to be doing rather than in terms of time spent.
I don’t really see a net changing their method on triple trouble for these reasons. Like I said before if it was a guild mission type thing that gave a reward once a week… it could have a drastically different reward basis that would be more forfilling. Which is why I feel like they should have done it as one.

I think the only problem with triple trouble is that it really can’t be done without the entire raid on teamspeak, people with the essential builds, and around a hour of prep. The only obvious guild I see organizing this raid is on a regular basis TTS. If it wasn’t for them it would of probably be abandoned by now.
I can appreciate what the devs tried to do here but the raid is simply to complex to be as large as is and be something that’s popular and rewarding. The amount of people that are going to take the time to do all the leading and instructing is few and rare. Maybe if the rewards were better more guilds would be doing it. But drops are only worth as much the rarity of their aquisition according to economics. The rewards would just be farmed back into mediocrity after a month.
The raid is what it is though. The game doesn’t suffer from its existence it’s not just all that popular. A open world of random players that approaches in the game without outside instruction and direction simply has no chance at success. It really doesn’t fit in open world content. This would have been much better as a guild mission format that didn’t require so many ppl to beat.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys the living story and how it gives everyone in my guild something new while keeping us at the same pace. I can’t see how an expansion would hurt anything or how it would be pointless as long as it’s in addition to living story not a replacement.
It will draw people back to the game if even only temporarily. It will renew the game in terms of its timeline. This game is far from perfect. But, how Anet has set out to try to break they WoW molds of MMOs and have had great success compared to other MMOs that have released during the it’s life span.
As a player that doesn’t have hours upon hours a day to keep up with the latest and greatest in other MMOs. This is arguably the best game the MMO genre currently offers right now. Expansion or not, I am very excited on what this announcement could be.

Personally the way I see it more is always better. I am all for an expansion as long as we don’t have to wait 6+ months before we see any new content. I hope this doesn’t mean living story will stop. The game could get stale fast if it went too many months without a content update. If Anet can deliver expansions and living story it would do a lot for the state of the game.
Other than that I don’t have any real concern about what they would add…. it would be kinda silly to up the level cap. It wouldn’t really do anything for the game and they would have to redesign a lot of existing content to balance it. Don’t think they would do that.

I lead a casual guild on Yak’s bend. I believe we have exactly what you are looking for. We are a guild that hovers around 150 members. Our peak times are in the evenings in the U.S. time zones until about midnight. We have about 20 or more online and repping at this time. We have a focus on community and being all inclusive. I do my best to ensure that we are one community and are not just a collection of cliques.
Our guild does many activities together. We get together on a regular basis and do fractals and dungeons. Our biggest activity is Guild missions every Friday. We have been running them every week for almost two years now without fail. We host them publicly and are never short on personnel to get them done. Our main focus though is the living story and the achievements. We are highly effective at getting people their achievements and hosting maps. We also get together on patch days to experience new content together.

I think a new race and class would be totally plausible.
They could totally add a 2nd chapter in the personal story with their own mentor and have that be their arc that can be experienced after a personal intro portion with other races as well. Then have an option to go play the 1st story arc. It would have to pick up somewhere after the personal intro with the disclaimer of “You are experiencing events prior to your arrival in Tyria”. Not to much different than exclusive classes of chapters in Guild Wars 1.
I still think one day Tengu will come out of isolation and we may get a new class and race.

I wish Anet would really do a CDI on legendary weapons.
Currently the only thing remotely required game wise is that you do map completion, get 500 dungeon tokens, and 500 badges.
There should be some kind of accomplishment derived besides monetary accomplishment.
There are so many goals that they could use in the game already like, completing LS2 achievements, dungeon master, PvP champion titles, AP chests, maybe a WvW rank requirement that would be fitting to reward a component of an account bound legendary.
