Will, at the end of living story season 2, all the ghosts in Ascalon disappear(permachange)?!
I think it’ll be like the Zhaitan fight. Technically speaking, the risen are dying off, but in reality they’re just as strong as before Arah story. After the Foefire is lifted, the ghosts will technically be gone, but we will still see them and fight them.
You can also jump up and down from the ledge and it can’t hurt you. Range it from there.
Awesome fight. I don’t remember if it can be critical-ed. If it can’t, just swap to soldiers or berserkers and DPS the statue. Not a hard fight by any means, and the mechanics kept it interesting.
Build Templating
Precursor Crafting
More Skills
Ascended Armor without crafting
More Weapons per class (I won’t rest until my Guardian can dual wield Shields!)
New dungeon paths
Option to buy Potions from Dungeon Vendors in bulk
Fractals aren’t time travels though, they aren’t real. I read an explanation somewhere once, but they only show images of something that happened, it’s not the real thing.
They are images, and occasionally photoshopped images. Rytlock could still show up though, the mists are pretty unpredictable.
Yes I have 1 & 3, but 2 I didn’t get as I was out of town. Question though, I have 2 computers, 2 PC’s both with Guild Wars 2 separate accounts. Can I copy my data file from my PC to theres as mine is up to date with all the episodes?
Both of them have them downloaded, you just aren’t allowed to play the story instances unless you buy it, so copying over the data won’t affect anything.
Luckily none of those options would be implemented as it would make it way too easy to get a precursor causing prices of everything else to skyrocket. I can already imagine all t6 fine mats surpassing 1G each.

Neat find, I didn’t see that. Didn’t expect them to make her a ghost….now I’m kind wondering why they didn’t do that for our Order mentors, or any of the other notable characters who die. Oh well…
It’d have been awesome to see Forgal’s ghost still on Claw Island, fighting off the undead inside, until we retook it, at which point his soul would be at peace and pass into the Mists, or even sometimes have ghosts of the characters that died in your Personal Story “haunting” your Home Instances at night or something.
Kind of reminds me of Harry Potter where you could only come back as a ghost if you chose to do so. Maybe Sieran, Tybalt and Forgal just preferred to move on.
But I miss Forgal… can’t he come back and mentor me some more?
If an MMO’s mechanics are able to comfortably accomodate dozens of players in one event, it’s fine. But if a zerg removes any need for tactics and and thinking, replacing it with mashing autoattack, then the MMO should stick to the mix of moderately large groups and instances.
Have you actually fought any of the Mordem Champions in the Iron Marches? You stand there, stupidly ‘mashing autoattack’ as you say, and the vines that come out of the ground will down you, then a short time later, kill you with zero chance of rallying.
What do you mean? I went through my regular attack rotations in melee (I play a Berserker Guardian, so I went through GS and then Sword/Focus rotation) then popped Shelter to heal when I needed it and then proceeded through attack rotation again. The ample water fields also helped out.
I like timegating. I can make a profit on all the impatient players.
How did you get 119 critical chance? EDIT: Nevermind, apparently a Warrior can build for 119% precision. 98% in Berserker if you squeeze the last bit of stats and don’t ever use a signet.
(edited by Morsus.5106)
The Veteran Mordrem Wolf was annoying. Scruffy didn’t pull aggro and didn’t do any damage, so I just ranged and jumped up and down from the rock so it wouldn’t be able to attack while I did DPS.
Come on guys. It’s not exactly rocket science (except for engineer I guess).
Then why do we need to teach them?
Living story will be paused after the 4th release and guess what time is that… end of august, meaning Guild Wars 2’s anniversary.
Mind sourcing that? I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but I want to see where ANet said it before I start speculating.
It’s only a huge zerg rush because it’s the first day. Of course everyone is gonna be doing the new content on the first day. This was true two years ago, and will continue to be true for as long as the game runs.
If everything is going to be instanced, why even play an MMO? Why not just play Diablo 3 or Torchlight?
Story should be instanced so you don’t miss it and still get credit for it.
I think I saw the horse twitch, continue beating it until we’re sure it’s dead.
I chopped two trees in Dry Top and got one. I’m worried about trying again
I just love that he came in uninvited (well Pale Tree mentioned it to him). The player didn’t even think to involve the group of which he is the Commander and took down a dragon. I mean really?!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Trahearne fan, but why wouldn’t our character think to go to them immediately once it was determined to truly be a dragon influence. As second in command, you’d think we’d have plenty of influence to muster a force to start taking action!
According to the wiki he was planning. He better bring a darn good plan.
can we atleast start having backpacks that make sense?
Like Anton having his crossed back up blades on his back?
Now that’s a not overkill backpack I would wear.
Is Dry Top old news for people already?
Dry Top was old news the day it came out. It’s small and offers no incentive to play on it. I played it during the story releases and went back to my regularly scheduled gaming.
Dry top has a crazy way of letting you jump all over and events that are going on all the time with a races to beat a timer it often is getting to T3 even on the lower OF and on the full its getting to T5. If it was old news it would never get beyond t1 maybe t2 if your lucky.
I’ve never seen it hit Tier 4. I logged onto it last night for the LS and it was at T1 during the dust storm. If I’m just having bad luck with servers, than sorry for the misinformation.
I think the saying is “it sux to sux?” Sry your the one who putting out misinformation badly or your playing at the off times for a lot of ppl or your simply very unlucky and or a leech type where your jumping in at times about when it should be going to T4 or T5 and simply not getting in. A lot of the maps are going to the high tears and ppl are working on pushing each map but though maps are full and you need to be there early in the start of a maps sandstorm reset to get any where. I mean what the point of doing things if your not willing to put the work in?
I’ve “put the work in”, but everyone else is just zerging the events and getting Tier 2 or Tier 3. I log on before the hour to put the work in, but I rarely see another soul doing the events. I’ve logged on various times of the day looking for a populated map, but I’ve still yet to see a Tier 4. I’m not leeching, because I log on before the turn of the hour to find maps where people are going to try for Tier 4 but I’ve yet to find one with enough people to even attempt it. Unfortunately for me, these being events, require more than just me. This is like trying to say that you are a good player because you beat Tequatl. Anyone can beat Teq if the server has enough coordinated players, but if you log on and only have 5 or so players it doesn’t mean you’re bad it means that you are unlucky.
That the thing if ppl are “zerging” the events then its still a very active map its just the groups you play with during your time do not seem to know what they are doing.
So the ten or so people I see zerging mean the map is populated? Good to know that. I guess as long as we have ten people playing the game, we’re all right too? (I’m sorry if I implied it was a big zerg, I meant more like 10 people.)
I hope they troll ppl soo much with him and his voice acting all the hate you guys put on one person is kind of crazy.
I don’t hate him for his voice acting, I hate him because he was the replacement for Forgal. I stopped playing my Personal Story for six months or so after Forgal died.
You know every one had a different person base off your starting races and chose and chose of faction? The fact that you had so much feeling for an person from the PS shows they did it right because death should have meaning and a story needs to have some type of meaning to it and death is one way to show that there a price to pay for what going on. So in a way you failed your Forgal by letting him die in vain because you stopped trying to deal with the dragon.
You realize we killed Zhaitan and avenged Forgal right? Forgal didn’t die in vain either, he gave his life so the rest of us could escape, and so they could make room for Trahearne.
And if you do nothing with that life as in kill zhaitan because you said you gave up on the ps once he die so YOU did not kill zhaitan in your words so yes on your end he die in vain.
I didn’t quit Personal Story, I stopped playing it for a time because without him it was just so boring. I did kill Zhaitan and do Arah Story though.
Sounds like your trying to make an excuse for not liking the PS because a death of some one you liked but if you liked them then it was not boring because he is still part of the PS even after his death because his death gave meaning to the story. To call it boring is to call his death boring.
… I don’t think you understand how stories work. They can have highs and lows, they aren’t just one long stretch of the same quality, and after Forgal died it became one long low point.
Then you did not like him? You do not seem to get what a story is its a set of events that leads up to a high point with no real dip a death is part of a story getting to its high points. If is death means nothing then its pointless to have it there in the first places unless its a logic part of the story. His death was part of the meaning of the story and the story that came after and gave a bit more meaning to the story before.
I really had to /facepalm when you asked me if I liked him or not. I liked him, he was one of the best parts of the story, but without him it suffered because it lacked any likable characters. Deaths can be a good factor, but they cannot make up for the lack of any interesting characters.
He still there in the story though his death becomes a character an element of the story. You do not read pages one of a story and its gone once you read pages two its all part of the same story.
True, except his death is just as bad a character as Trahearne. I liked him as a character, but they removed what was good about him. If the next pages are boring, then there’s nothing the pages before can do to redeem it. If I took the Avengers, killed off all of the likable characters and did seven movies about a humorless, emotionless character, and he/she was the only character in the entire plot, would those seven movies be good just because I liked The Avengers? Absolutely not, and the same principle applies here. If you refuse to see logic, I’m just going to stop arguing with you.
For me time gathering is better than RNG…and you can buy the mats from TP so it doesn’t have to be time gathering at all if you are in the rush and rich.
I don’t think the people who rush in and buy the mats stay rich for long, because the prices often fall off of a cliff after the first few days. It was seven gold this morning for a Foxfire Cluster and now it’s a gold. The rich who buy it probably wait a day or two at the least in, so they don’t “rush in”.
I hope they troll ppl soo much with him and his voice acting all the hate you guys put on one person is kind of crazy.

Is it horrible if Trahearne ends up getting killed?
Only if Forgal is resurrected.
I’ve decided not to use any back items simply because I think they’re all overkill.

DPS down the Mender, run back do 3 or so hits on the statue, the mender will spawn, do three more hits, then DPS down the Mender. My biggest mistake was killing the Mender as soon as he spawned. Another one won’t spawn until he’s dead, so as long as you have decent DPS you can continue attacking the statue ‘till he’s out from under the arch. If you are in Knight’s or Soldier’s I’m not sure if this’ll work since it is heavily focused on DPS, you may need to find a different way.
@Subakusaku Once the shield is up, kill more ghosts to charge Sohothin. Once it’s charged, Rytlock will bring down the shield.
No, no dungeons. They can’t do that stuff right anyways.
Like what the opening post said, if it’s talking to an NPC, finding clues, or going to a place, fine. Otherwise, keep it in the instance.
The Flame & Frost dungeon was actually really fun. After a day or two pugs generally had it down and I farmed it for Sentinel’s gear (that I then sold for a gold. I sooooooo regret that).
Why are you playing a MMO then? Seems not at all logical.
Only thing I long on to do is get this LS out of the way asap and go back to spvp <- reason for kittenin playin a mmo ty. I don’t want to wait hours on end not enjoying my time standing around doing jack kitten waiting for an event to spawn.
Then don’t do the LS, stop moaning and just spvp. It’s really that simple.
“You don’t like how this is handled? WELL GET THE KITTEN OUT!”
If everyone who had a small complaint with the game left, most of the players would leave.
The part where we had to help Eir with the Sons of Svanir was fun when you only had 5 or so people, but when the commander showed up saying he was starting a new train it got too zergy for me
During the aftermath of the final Scarlet eventpeople complained about him not showing up to help protect/reclaim Lion’s Arch. So yeah…
I don’t mind the Lettucehead though, he’s like Kirito of GW2.
I just miss Forgal. Trahearne was no replacement for Forgal, and no one but Forgal can be Forgal!
Some servers are bugged.
No, the server swapping broke the immersion for me.
I’ve had to swap servers after each soldier. It’s getting really old.
Fossils for sandy bags ..
I’m speechless now …..
And only 3 of them.
Per the patch notes:
Gentt now trades Sandy Bags of Gear for Unidentified Fossilized Insects.
Guess that gives some people an alternative…
I understood that as meaning Gentt will take fossils and give you Sandy Bags.
Yup, he takes the fossils and gives Sandy Bags. Thanks ANet.
Well kitten …
I was so hyped up because I thought I might get one.

“This mean that my chance to get a Fossilized Insect is REDUCED "
No it doesn’t. The loot tables may/may not be adjusted to take into account the new items. Let’s wait ’till after the patch before we destroy Anet. (I have my pitchfork and torch at the ready just in case this patch sucks though.)
Yeah, I was just griping about this elsewhere. Arenanet likes to do this thing where they get me excited for a patch and then don’t release it until after I have to go to bed, and that time is quickly creeping upon us already. It’s really frustrating. Some of us work nights, you know.
And then it’s a disappointing patch.
If we ever actually fight Mord, he’ll only be harmed by “fire” type weapons, Ele in fire attunement, Ranger fire trap, and burning. The fight will last longer than Zhaitan’s “fight.”
Since Season 1 finale I always felt that the coolest conclusion for Season 2 (assuming it sees Mord being put down) would be for Prim to get involved. Prim thursts for destruction so what better way to quench his thirst than the destruction of an Elder Dragon who represents nature on roids.
Primordus consumes Mordremoth and then burns The Grove. That would make season 2 a 10/10 season for me.
“Guardians – Run Staff. Staff auto attack is the second highest DPS in the entire game. If you are in Clerics, Knight’s or Soldier’s like every Guardian should, it will allow you to draw the aggro of all the mobs and tank! If you need to focus your fire, swap to Scepter because it has the highest DPS in the game.”
That’s my advice to all the Guardians in the game! Feel free to use it! (Except please don’t, I don’t have a dungeon group I regularly go with, and I live by pugging)
Make it soulbound on acquire. That’s the only way I could get behind this.
