I’m throwing greatswords in the Mystic Forge and all I’m getting are precursors! Please, fix this. I MUST HAVE THE KATANA!
Not that I can tell.
It’s a greatsword skin and can be seen in the wardrobe. Plus we have a topic for her sword already.
@Sariel V Yeah, google translate isn’t the best, but it gives me cool looking names and that’s enough for me. No one ever takes ’em either since they are all mistranslated lol.
It’s in the wardrobe next to Iron Greatsword, and is also called Iron Greatsword.
Aerin was evil, Scarlet was evil, Canach was evil… it won’t be long before we wage war on the Sylvari.
I was hoping I could craft this. Looks better than my current ascended greatsword.
Take a phrase you like to name your character after. I liked Greater Flame for my Guardian, so I put it into google translate and tell it to use Latin. Ignis means flame, and Valder means very/powerful/great depending on where you translate it, so I ended up using Valderignis. I followed the “Valder” pattern on my later characters so I ended up with Valder Dolor (Very Smart, for my Asuran mesmer. Also reads as department, sorrow, and pain.), Valder Laminas (Lamina meaning Blade, so great Blade.) Valdermalgus (I think it means very evil, but I’m not 100% sure unfortunately. I made him over a year ago and haven’t touched him since).
i really hope these challenging achievements are actually challenging and not pseudo crap like Liadri
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I would expect the average difficulty to be slightly lower than Liadri at best.
GW2 is a very casual oriented game. They need to make the challenges reflect that. If you alienate too many of your players then you lose your playerbase.
My problem, is many people couldn’t even beat Liadri. If I have to rely on others, I want it to be closer in challenge to, say, the pirate crew. If it is Liadri hard, then it will just be a luck based challenge hoping your pug or people around you know what to do.
It won’t do anything. The Zerker meta is the meta because of how combat works in this game, introducing new stat combos won’t fix it.
I like the idea of the elite achievments, it may give people a use for using non zerker builds to do them!
Or it could be elite like Liadri – Swap to rampagers and you’ll be fine. Builds may change, but it’ll be centered around DPS unless they rework the way combat works in this game.
I’ll wait awhile to see if this is a cool endgame zone like Orr, or if it’s gonna be like Southsun. I’m hoping it’s like the latter, and if it is my thanks too Anet!
“…bonuses to Toughness, Healing, and Vitality.”
It’s nice that they’re focusing on building up healers, but that also makes me a little worried. I’m not exactly the best in this game, so it’s going to take me a while to get these new achievements. Maybe I should focus on a healing build?
No. Still a waste of time in PvE.
It’ll be a waste of time, just like sentinel, but it’ll still sell for a gold or two. Plus the cacti can be used by a chef, so maybe new food will be added.
Actually quite smart. Worth keeping an eye on. It could sell well for a while to the trinity-pusher crowd.
I sold enough Sentinel’s Draconic Helms to get my armorsmith to 500 in about 2 days, plus plenty of profit (I sold as low as possible to get to 500 as fast as possible). All thanks to the trinity pushers. I look forward to new, useless gear combos because I’m always hoping for a repeat of Sentinels. Little practical use, but plenty of profit for me

Nice to see some new crafting mats. Maybe chef is getting a boost to 500?
i would do a dungeon if the token(s) i get is a guaranteed armor piece, within one single run.
Except you can. You get 60 tokens for a run, and a rare chest piece can be purchased with that. Dungeons take 5~20 minutes, and an exotic piece of armor should take more time than that. You don’t deserve an exotic chestpiece for 5 minutes of facerolling.
I liked the Molten Alliance dungeon. I want to see more stuff like that.
I haven’t played Guild Wars 1, so I guess that doesn’t apply to me.
Ikr, I have no idea what he’s talking about. :P
I have a general idea about what he’s talking about. I researched a lot of the lore, so he’s pretty much just calling us traitors because the Charr we’re at war with humans in the first one whereas now they kind of get along.
Odds are they fell into the new zone.
A dragon. A dragon champion. A large dragon minion. A dragon minion. A small dragon minion. A risen thrall could probably do it.
Sounds like more elitist talk,
Except it’s not. Level 80s have one zone. At just about any other level, you have multiple zones at your level. If you aren’t done levelling yet, why do you need more content? You haven’t even played beaten the base game yet.
As late as possible.
If they just gave normal mobs the AI of the class training dummies from PvP then dungeons would be much more fun.
I actually really like the look of illustrious armor… this could take awhile…
I hope this is an actual level 80 zone with no upscaling.
I haven’t played Guild Wars 1, so I guess that doesn’t apply to me.
I sure hope so.
I think the reason you can put them in the forge is because that’s how you upgrade them.
Give them the AI of the PvP trainers for the different classes, buff health by ~50%.
I refuse to open a dungeon out of fear I’ll have leave, disconnect, etc. and my party will get screwed over.
What if a dragon corrupts her and we have to cleanse her from the dragon’s corruption? A massive world event? Imagine all of the people whining in map chat! IT WOULD BE GLORIOUS!
I’m just hoping for new armor. I’ve started trying to 100% the wardrobe, but I’d like armor I’m likely to use.
If you have a Warrior at 80, you may find it easier to beat her in Rabid/Dire greens. I couldn’t beat her as an 80 zerker Guard (Exotic/Ascended) but could with a Krait rune, dire green rifle War.
Well if they plan on “an expansions worth of content” they better plan on adding a new race.
I’d rather it not be accountbound so I can make a profit selling to people too lazy to go out and farm it.
Run dungeons, you make 50g/day. Then just buy out the cores.
Please, why don’t you share what dungeons you run in a day? You’d have to run all of them to get 50 gold.
What if desertification is turning the entire place into a desert? I mean, a lot can happen in 5 years, and it’s been 250. And we only got a quick look at the zone, it could all be there.
I want another dungeon with a new dungeon themed set of armor and weapons!
My guess is we will go to help the Zephyrites after they crash landed and find the Inquest there. Possibly they shot the Zephyrites down to try and prevent them from seeing the construction of a Crucible of Eternity 2 type structure. We will then progress down the structure and find they are trying to use it as a containment device for the new Elder Dragon. It will wake up and destroy the structure godzilla style.
I have yet to join a Zerker party. Will it be a big deal that I run Runes of the Trooper (for the group condi cleanse)?
This is a ~15% DPS loss compared to Scholar or Strength (no joke). That’s quite a bit, and is definitely not worth it. Shake It Off on warrior or Purging Flames on guardian are sufficient for condition cleanse— you don’t need the trooper runes at all.
Is Scholar the absolute top DPS? At 4 gold a piece I’m not about ready to buy all 6, but if there’s a cheaper option I may go for that.
How about they just don’t upscale the events?

I rarely have to use my heal skill, so why not take the passive bonuses?
Shield of the Avenger will force him to go melee. He/She will rely on Pin Down to Hundred Blades you. Don’t let him do that. If he does, use one of your many condi removals. Once he starts hundred blades dodge roll out like it’s the plague.
As someone who ran soldier’s for approx 6 months, I can tell you it has very little DPS. I’d say go with Knight’s simply because it’s still tanky and offers slightly better DPS. Hammer auto attack will offer you almost perma protection allowing you to wear more DPS oriented armor.
What you’re talking about is rebalancing, it’s rebuilding the game from the ground up.
I just pugged CoE. Seemed like a pug alright, but other than that not much harder than usual.
Let me start off by saying I love Greatswords. A giant sword, tall as a man, and does some of the best damage? SIGN ME UP! Except, I’m not a fan of Twilight or Sunrise. I prefer Incinerator and Zap. Unfortunately swords and daggers don’t fit my playstyle. Now, I don’t want a huge Zap, I’d rather have a new legendary entirely. How about we just get new Legendaries all around?
It really depends on you. Were you in it for the skin, or the stat swaps and permanent top tier?
