GW2 Female Armour [Poll]

I think wearing skimpy armor in combat is a serious logic fail. “I’m fighting for my life, so I’ll take all my armor off!” I mean come on, when the other guys are shooting arrows and swinging swords you’ll want to be as covered as possible. Just my thought process.

Please.. Account-bound Crafting

Recipes should be account bound even if crafting profession is not. You could level up your characters with the crafting but at least have access to all the recipes you have encountered on your travels. You will still have to level up to be able use those recipes.

Are recipes not account bound at the moment? If not I’ve made the wrong assumption! I’ve been buying the recipes from Karma merchants on my main for all the crafting disciplines as the items say they are account bound. If the recipe only unlock for the character that consumes it then that’s a disappointment, I thought it’s unlock the recipe for all chars on my account.

The recipe sheet can be traded, but once it’s used it’s on that one character only.

Bit of a bump, but I wanted to ask for clarification:

Are you having trouble locating or getting to the meat hunks?

If the former, holding left ctrl will show the nameplate for any interactibles in the area.

I beat the figt a day or two ago by using Shield of the Avenger after being lucky and grabbing the meat. The problem was locating the meat like you said. Thanks for the help.

I switched to my warrior for this.
Did it with full green stuff, the key point being that I used a sword to permanently cripple the chomper.

Guardian doesn’t really have acces to cripples sadly, so you’re relying on teleports/knockbacks/line of warding or the likes.

Ok, maybe I’m best off swapping to my Warrior then.

I’ve worked my way through the gauntlet and now I can’t seem to beat Strugar and Chomper. I just can’t get to the meat first. Half the time, I don’t even see it on the ground, I just see Chomper run off to an invisible spot. The times it does appear, it’s thrown right to Chomper and he gobbles it up before I can get there. I’m a Guardian, so my immobilizes don’t work here. When the meat hunks do load, I might be able to grab one or two, but by then Chomper has more than me or the fight is nearing completion. The one time I had enough meat to finish off Strugar and get Chomper down to ~25% HP, the timer ran out. I’m running Save Yourselves and Retreat for swiftness and Bane signet for knockdown. What am I doing wrong?

I don’t like that they took away almost every champion from QD, but I can see why they did it. There was a bunch of controversy and silly arguments whenever someone killed a champion early and whatnot.

Also, Frostgorge Sound’s train is still up and running, so everyone can still farm without any major problems.

@Rouven I think masterwork crafter is still there actually, so ingots wouldn’t work but some of the chef recipes would. EDIT: Some of the trays cost as little as 30 copper to make and then they are masterworks, so what’s to stop me from making a stack of trays, get my 50 silver from monthly, and then sell the trays (which are already a profit)? At 30 copper each, that’s 75 silver, but I also get laurels, luck, mystic coins, and then I get profit on the trays, so pretty much a free monthly for me.

Morsus.5106

my guess is it’s an oversight, and they don’t change things just because they should be differently, but only when something is needed. If they release an item that requires azurite orbs and azurite orbs go to like 10g, they will add that promotion option or an alternative so that their new item is used. It makes a bit of sense – if you fix every little thing, you’ll spend all your time tinkering with little stuff. also, most things work themselves out and only the price of azurite orbs would be affected. if they tinker, then everyone that invested in azurite orbs lose big and they get mad.

The best solution would be not to mess it up in the first place.

How to handle staff guardians?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

When I pug and get a guardian in a group, chances are he’s with staff. Actually, I haven’t seen a non-staff guardian in ages (except mine and newbies who are like “dis my hammer, love my hammer”, good at least you have a weapon that can provide real utility inside the battle).

So, how to tell a guardian that he just should give up on staff for dungeons like CoE, AC, CoF!, etc. and that staff is more of a situational weapon. I want to be able to tell him and still finish the dungeon. So far everytime I mention the topic, I’m seen as a berserker scumbag (yet the lfg said zerker only). But also, I don’t want to shut up because they can’t play. I know I can’t educate people against their will, but I wanna try anyways.

Just play with me. I’m a Zerker/Knight with an Ascended Greatsword and exotic Scepter/Focus. I haven’t seen a staff guard in a long time acutally.

Yes to legendary armor with ascended stats that can be swapped. Make it 10 times as hard to get legendary armor than it is to get ascended. To those complaining about grind, remember you can simply choose to NOT go for legendary items since they would have the same stats as ascended. Sounds like a win-win to me.

@ArenaNet
Make it happen.

How about you can mystic forge 2 ascended armors of the same type, Zojja’s Visage and WupWup Visage for example, and then you get back a Zojja’s Visage that can swap to Wupwup Visage when you are out of combat.

Sellable ascended gear has been asked for so many times it’s not even funny. And it’ll be expensive too, considering insignias are going for around 40 gold, so expect around 130 gold per piece of armor. IMO ascended mats have been introduced slowly enough now, so bump the refine limit to 3 a day (and in a month remove timegating completely) and make armor tradeable. It shouldn’t shock the market too much IMO.

Just because you got yours and you don’t need it anymore doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be available for people leveling now.

No, ANet doesn’t need to do anything. It’s fine the way it is.

Maybe we could choose to get retroactive XP for the crafting levels we have. Then we get cooking to 400 once and then get 8 levels on all of our characters.

Yay, I can now go from 1 to 80 compltely freely for completely no reason.

Better than removing crafting XP completely. Making it just account bound is a horrible decision, but XP based off of the item crafted instead of getting XP for levelling up isn’t a half bad idea.

In reality there is nothing hardcore about using a computer. Kids these days.

It is if you built your computer from scratch, using nothing but parts scavenged from Walkmans, HAM radios, and Teddy Ruxbin dolls. :P

You guys need to get on my level. I gnawed trees down into usable wood which I used to form a crude pickaxe. I then used my crude pickaxe to mine enough metal for a computer. I then built a small fire with nothing but twigs and sheer force of will, which I used to melt the metal. I used my bare hands to shape it into the correct form. It has 128 gigabytes of RAM and over 500 terabytes of memory, on top of 12 gigs of Vram and a 16 core processor that has speeds of 10 ghz.

Jewelcrafting and Cooking 500 ?

Hey I always have an idea on 500 cooking:

At 500 cooking, you should be able to make a ascended replenish-able food of your choosing. And its power should equal to the lvl 80 food you get currently.

Basically once made you can get the convenience of not having to buy your food anymore.

What do you guys think?

That would destroy the market for cooking.

What if zerk was really nerfed in PvE?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Morsus.5106

Morsus.5106

I think it would make the game worse. I enjoy the action oriented combat, and imo Zerker being to powerful isn’t the problem, it’s the other sets not being worthwhile. I ran Knight’s for a good 8 months, but I found I was at almost full HP the whole time and since it didn’t do me any good to have full HP, I started cycling in Zerker gear. I originally believed I was drawing more Aggro, but now since I have full Zerker I’m still drawing the same amount of Aggro, if not more. Until Toughness draws more Aggro than DPS, and a certain portion of damage is undodgeable (I think 90% of the damage should be mitigated by dodging, but 10% should still be done), Zerker will remain on top not because it’s just too powerful, but because the others are pretty redundant.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Morsus.5106

On average boss fights lasted about 0-10% longer. On fotm49 things went faster than usual because I gearchecked the group to make sure they were all zerkers. Usually I can carry some slackers, but I don’t risk it anymore.

And this ladies and gents, is why nerfing zerker was a bad idea.

Why? People shouldn’t get carried by good players while they’re in PVT. They should gear properly and learn. Of course there is no issue with taking 3 defensive pieces and 3 zerker pieces for getting started.

Yeah, but the idea behind the nerf was to make PVT/Knights/Clerics/etc more valuable in dungeon runs, now people are doing more gear checks, so it backfired.
