With the changes we’re making that remove some of the systems that take gold out of the economy, we need to make sure the economy remains balanced in terms of gold input as well. We’ll be reducing the amount of raw gold that comes out of champion loot bags and events in an effort to keep the economy balanced and spread out player activity a bit.
Why do you desire to see “rich” people taxed? Most of the rich people get their money from farms like this. If you tax the TP, it will cut into me crafting for profit (keep in mind I’m not rich, I just hit 100 gold yesterday, so I’m not “rich” by in-game standards) which will result in me going to farming. If that’s what happens to me, it’ll happen to everyone else who crafts for profit, which will only increase the amount of farmers using trains. Why is it that you want everyone to have to use the trains to get their money? Champ trains are the worst thing for the economy, not the “rich” who use the TP.
Exclusive bonuses? Just look at the rage over the heroic edition.
How about we get new reviving animations. Why does everyone just rub the guy when they have healing magic?
A player shouldn’t be penalized or feel that way just because they weren’t online at a certain time.
I hate to say it, but we get penalized for that constantly. Just look at the dye market. By the time I got on (around a half hour after the news) the dyes were up from 20c to 20s.
How about instead of an in-game bonus the friend who gets referred get’s a discount on the game, like $5-10 off.
@mtpelion That’s what I thought, but I was getting a little confused by all the people saying it’ll double the waypoint fee.
@Original Post Waypoint fees were pretty small beforehand, and it won’t cost you twice as much because you’ll be closer. At WORST it will cost you 5 silver at level 80 from Frostgorge to Orr. Not that big of a deal.
I think at 475 crafting professions should start making skins. Then we’ll have something to do besides exotics on our way to ascended AND we’ll get to choose how our ascendeds look.
I thought they meant if the Waypoint could be contested normally, it would appear so unless you were on that map. If every single waypoint in the game appears contested except the ones on your current map I’m leaving this game plain and simple.
@Raine I was told that the reason for bleed limits was to reduce strain on the servers. I think we can all agree that the 25 limit stack on bleeds was, and is, a horrible idea, I was just trying to work around the limitations. It would be easier to just remove the 25 bleed limit, so I agree that would be much better than implementing my shoddy attempt at reworking conditions, or reinventing the wheel.
From what I’ve seen, the problem on bosses in the open world and in dungeons, is a lot of people do conditions. You’ll be lucky to get a stack or two on a world boss, resulting in low DPS all around. My solution for it is make conditions “combine”. Say an enemy gets 25 stacks of bleeding. Currently, that’s it. No more bleeds on him. I think that once he/she hits that 25 bleed stacks all 25 are removed and a new condition is applied. That condition could be called anything, “Double Bleeding”, “Bleeding Overflow”, etc. but it would have the average duration of all those bleed stacks with their damage output all added up.
See what I’m getting at here? If I’m confusing, I apologize. Conditions that stack duration would become “convert” to a new condition after so many seconds (probably a lot in PvP/WvW). For PvE I’d think about 30 seconds would be good. The current condition would be removed and a new condition would be applied. The new condition would deal 3 times the average damage of that stack of Poison/Burning/Torment for 1/3 the time.
These changes would make conditions deal damage a lot faster yes, but it would help raise the ceiling on condition damage without having to apply too many conditions and overload the server.
If you don’t do WvW then I don’t think you deserve a legendary…
Legendary weapons are legendary for a reason, people who make them do everything.
So they should have to transfer if their server doesn’t do WvW? WvW is something that requires more than anything just one player can do. I fail to see why it was a smart idea, especially when world transfers aren’t free.
I’ve noticed some difficulty spike in SE P1 too. Normally I run it with my 80 Guardian, but now that my Warrior is a 65, the dungeon is a lot harder. Maybe it’s because my pugs have lost all their reflects, but I didn’t think I’d be so squishy.
There seems to be a lot of confusion on this one. The way I understand it, is if you are on friends lists, guilds, parties, or on the same homeworld you will play together. Roleplaying will not suffer from this. If anything, it will get better because now you won’t need to guest or join guilds together, just friend the rpers you like to play with and you will play together along with the RPers they friend.
I’m really angry over this, because during the invasion I left my zerg, jumped on the pile of coins and shouted “NO ONE TOUCH THIS IT IS MINE!” and now the guards won’t let me have all the money I claimed.
www.gw2crafts.net/ will serve you better.
Also that’s a pro necro post.
Except those guides are super inefficient (’cept maybe Cooking) because I got 400-500 weaponsmith with little to no loss whereas that guide predicts 120 gold loss. I mean, I took A LOT LONGER, but I think the time was worth 120 gold.
I think it should be exotic Insignia’s instead. While stat swapping gear is nice, it may just be cheaper to go for a legendary then do this lol.
I typically play Human Males in all RPGs, so I guess I’m sexist/racist. I actually made a Warrior Charr and I play him more than my Human Guardian, so I guess I’m just sexist :/
Ferocity being a nerf was the real joke. I point of Ferocity is equal to 1% crit damage. Now Zerkers can solo any dungeon in the game in a couple of seconds.
Right at this moment there are no enemies in LA. The only attacks are verbal attacks from npc’s to sylvari.
Stupid Salads. Blew up our city and don’t even have the nerve to apologize. If it were up to me would put all the dragon minions to death for their crimes against tyria! have the Sylvari fund the rebuilding of Lion’s Arch and refund all the shopkeepers for lost time as well as give the spouses of the dead Lionguard enough money to live on for the rest of their lives.
Because the Asura designed them. It’s their technology and there is a for use fee. And because you are a Bookah.
Evon only has so much money and it’s not like Kiel is helping out with this.
The only reason he is giving us free armor repairs is because Kiel forced him to lol. He is so weak, unfit to be anything other than a trader . . and a coward
‘Because Kiel forced him to" Yup, because she won’t do it herself. She’s gotten power and now refuses to do kitten while Evon does all the work. Giving the Lionguard every weapon he owned and now paying all the repairmen so that players still learning the game won’t have to. What has Kiel done again? Ruined the reactor with Scarlet and given you a temporary discount on waypoints.
While Evon was supplying the Vigil and (now) repairing our armor for free, Kiel was just chillin’ with Magnus while LA was raised to the ground. Yeah, go Kiel…
You have Knight w/ Knight Trinkets, but what about Knight w/ Zerker trinkets? That’s what’s always been recommended to me at least.
3) They put Communal Defence on Valor, and I think it’s useless compared whit Altruistic Healing, but it’s what I think. It’s a good trait, but not the best the can make. One more aegis when block every 20 sec can be good, but if you combine Altruistic healing whit Empowering Might (trait VIII on Honor line) your heal yourself by 360 per second just hitting the enemy, and if you add the staff skill Empower you heal 1/2 or 1/3 of your hp in 2.5 sec.
If you get an all Guardian group all with Communal Defense though… Talk about the elitism that could come from THAT.
It’d be much better if downed players just didn’t scale the event. Then I could laugh at them spamming map chat. If you die during an event, don’t expect a rez or demand one.
It is in the context of them removing armour repairs and the cost of retraiting. Whether it’d result in more gold, less or the same amount in the economy we can’t say yet.
I think it’s gonna reduce the amount of gold in the economy. Repair costs and retraits (at least for me) cost me maybe a gold or two in my lifetime of pugging dungeons. Champ farms however make up a huge part of the economy. On the bright side, this means inflation may slow down a little, though with less outs for money in the economy it could just skyrocket.
Unforunately this take all the risk out of dungeons. Also the effect on the economy…
Risk in dungeons? My worst dungeon run only cost me 10 silver. Your armor still breaks, it just doesn’t cost to repair it.
Looks like when my Warrior takes over as my main (changing to him from my Guardian) he’ll be inheriting quite a bit of ascended trinkets and and Ascended GS. Now he just needs to level Hunstman to 500 so he can get his shiny red Longbow.
5 guardian unscathed contender rawr.
20 second cd so it won’t be up 100% of the time. It will be pretty OP though.
EDIT: Typo, it’s 20 not 5 second CD.

Would someone mind filling me in? When was this new trait announced? EDIT: Nevermind, I found the stream.

I havent done any math (frankly because i dont know how) but it just seems logical that with the nerf to crit dmg semi tanky/semi dps builds will fall even more short
Actually, I dunno if they will (on their own). Like you, I haven’t done the math yet, but since it’s bringing down crit dmg by turning it into Ferocity, Knight hybrids will be staying the same since they never got the bonus crit dmg.
Normally I feel bad for fictional characters with a backstory like Scarlet (Driven insane and now kill people for fun, such as The Governor in TWD) though Scarlet was the exception because she was so annoying.
Race change! Humans and Charr swap, while Asura become Norn, Sylvari become Asura and Norn become Sylvari! For one day, all the little Asura get to stomp on all the bigger people as a giant Norn.
Yes, that appears to be the case. It could be an evil plot to force us into buying more gems to expand our bank slots.
The merchant will be on Havoc’s Heir Airship and require a pass to get there.
I’m hoping for dailies and map completion, but I won’t be too shocked if it’s gem store only.
This seems like a point of view sort of thing (feel free to ignore me, just wanted to point it out).
One way of looking at it is the same way you are. You wasted your money to get dyes on all your alts and now all you get for it is an unidentified dye.
On the other hand, all of your other alts get them for free and you get a couple unidentified dye on top of it.
There have been some wierd glitches lately. For example, people have had several thousand items in their inventory, ranging from Eternities, to Conduits, to unique skins. They are graphical glitches.
Are you sure you have those 1001 gems available?
In order to check, click the gems to gold tab and see if it gives you 1001 gems to convert into gold. If not, it’s a graphical glitch.
I’m (almost) sorry to say that it was just a graphical glitch. After exiting the game and reentering all 1001 disappeared.
So, I logged onto the game today and found I had 1001 gems. I don’t remember buying any gems, so is the game glitchy or have I lost it?
EDIT: Never mind, I relogged and found I was back to 0 gems. Not sure if I should be relieved that I’m not insane (or worse, my account been hacked) or disappointed that I no longer have 1001 gems.

People that spent all their laurels on dyes are going to be mad if Anet adds some very desirable but expensive laurel rewards in the near future.
If they do, I’ll earn more. I had 70 sitting around today and spent 30 on dyes. Unless it’s some game changer, it’ll be hard to get me to regret my decision.
There’s been no downloaded update yet.
It’s all speculation. The thing is, if everyone relists those dyes right now, the supply will gradually increase and profit margins will gradually diminish.
The smart investors will hold onto these until after the feature patch, and either cash in on the increased demand or wait even longer as supply dwindles further.
Unless I read right over it in the article, cooking will still be an option so supply will get smaller, but specific dyes won’t run out.
How will Transmutation Charges work? Will we just buy them on the gemstore like Transmutation Crystals/Stones or is there something different in mind (apart from the conversion of crystals/stones to charges).
I do believe players deserve a 1-time free stat change, especially those who crafted ascended celestial.
How ‘bout those of us who crafted ascended Berserker? At least you guys are getting more survivable, we’re just taking a plain nerf.
When you pug something, your bound to get kicked. No one wants zerker only warrior elitists (Even while playing a Guard I’ve been kicked for being one) in their guilds, and so they resort to LFGs, so there is a higher concentration of them there.
Except if they only have 1 sigil that maxes them out at 2 sigils, while other classes/builds can have 4 (2 2handed weapons). Either way, someone will pay, let that be 2handers vs 1handers, or Guardians vs Elementalists. The REAL solution would be giving Elementalists access to 2 weapon sets, or at the very least reducing some of their cooldown times.
