They need to add more stuff to make crafting more profitable. Such as a 10% chance of a double craft and getting 2 of the item, so if I make 100 orichalcum I’ll get 110 on average. Doubling the XP with it would be a good decision too, so if I craft a Destroyer’s Berserker Greatsword I have a 10% chance of getting a second one for free and getting double XP. There would be a good bit more exotics on the market and the prices of mats would drop some since there’s 10% more. That would be much better than our critical XPs lol.
If there weren’t gold sinks, people would accumulate more and more gold devaluing the currency. Eventually you would be paying gold just for copper ore to start off. If the gold wasn’t removed from the economy, then inflation would be through the roof, which is very unhealthy.
Because, well, maybe it’s not supposed to have as high crit% as zerkers? Just my two cents. As it is, wupwup claymore already has more crit% than Zojja’s.
Back in my day every single item was soulbound, and you couldn’t run past the endgame enemies. You would kill every single trash mob in your way and you liked it! You would then get to the ore node and mine a few measly ore and you would refine it and then thank the gods that you were so blessed. You would then spend an entire weekend farming with the blind hope that one of them might actually bleed. If you were in the lucky 1% that actually got an enemy to bleed, you would poor it into the molten metal and create an infused ingot. You would then take the ingot to a priest who would demand you defeat the Devil himself. If you were lucky, you had a guild to help out. If not, you would spend eternity asking “what if?” If you were lucky, you’d manage to defeat the first trash mob in Satan’s army. Once you finally cleared your way to the Devil himself, you pray to the RNG gods that his attacks would miss. Most of the time, the whole party would wipe and the devil would take your infused ingot starting you over from the beginning. If you managed to make it through, you would HOPE that the he dropped a devil horn, if not, you do it again. If it did drop, you’d take it to the priest who would then bless the ingot with the satanical power from the horn, giving you a satanic ingot. You would then hunt down hordes of angels for their halos. Each one had a 0.1% drop chance. Once you got 10 of them, you’d take the magma from hell to heat your forge where you would melt the metal from the halo together with the power from the horn and create your Omnipotent Ingot. Then, you would repeat the process over and over until you could create your Omnipotent gear making you as powerful as a god, only to have another set come out a week later that was 10 times harder to get. What was the moral of the story again?
1. I would make non-zerker builds more viable.
2. I would make the Ranger’s pet AI waaay smarter (with the ability to dodge!)
3. I would give Thieves more dodge bars so that people wouldn’t complain about their little DPS/Survivability
4. I would make Ascended Weapons/Armor drop in a box that let’s you pick stats AND weapons
5. I would put all of the Ascended equipment up for 10 Pristine Fractal Relics.
6. Dungeon vendors would sell Ascended weapons/armor for 3x the tokens.
7. Make ascended weapons that drop/are crafted sellable on the trading post.
Yowch, 240 gold for such a minor increase? (Ascended Berserker Greatsword has 188 power while Exotic Berseker Greatsword has 179, so 9 additional power.)
If you don’t like farming, please feel free to buy all my mats off of the TP. I’ll be ready to unload them tomorrow.

You can accumulate wealth through normal game play. Farming is a choice, not a requirement.
I had around 10 gold through “normal game play”. Then I started doing Sorrow’s Embrace Path 1 and Path 3, every day and now I have 80 gold. Please share with me your definition of “normal game play”.
If this was a goal I could work towards by playing the aspects of this game I enjoy, then this would be a slight bother.
However, since this requires me to 1 ) join the champ trains for any decent gold earning and 2 ) craft, this is again something that pushes me away from the game and leaves me disinterested in contributing with gem purchases.
The #1 reason I left WoW was the gear grind and this is something that ANet has continually pushed on players here…
You are in no way required to champ farm, nor is it the only way to earn decent gold, nor do you have to purchase materials, you can obtain them yourself. And if crafting leaves u disinterested best not try any other MMO.
Excuses to exclude ascended armor all amount to “but i don’t wanna!”.
Plus it has been mentioned in a interview or preview that ascended armor will drop in fractals at some point.
Wait wait, gather all the mats? To get to 500? How ‘bout you try it out (I sure did, and I got to 425 before I realize how ineffective it is.) and see how long you think it’ll take you. I play the way I want to play (dungeons, dungeons and more dungeons!) and so far I haven’t been able to afford the goldsink to get to 500. Weapons drop in Fractals too y’know. I haven’t heard about anyone getting any of those recently though, so don’t expect armor to drop too easy.

The issue here is not always, that players are not good at movement/dodging. I haven’t done this phase in fractals, but I did it a few times during Sky Pirates of Tyria. The cannon phase always slowed down my Computer, my frame rate went to hell and it really felt like WvW-Mega-Zerg. Under these Condition one simply cannot avoid the circles properly.
And no, I don’t have a computer thats too crappy. But Mais cannon phase is worse than most of the world bosses.
Really? I’m running GW2 on a 2.7GHZ dual core CPU and 2 low end AMD crossfire cards and I’ve had no fps issues during Mai’s cannon phase.
Well, most of the money is spent on getting it up to 500, so the pricing will be pretty close to the same as getting an ascended weapon. I’d much rather have a different, non-pure-goldsink way of getting them. IE 5000 dungeon tokens, 50 fotm relics, etc.
Just remove the “Account bound” status to them and the problem will be solved. FotM-ers will sell them to non-FotM-ers and then there will be better distribution of them, and people will stop whining about not being able to get ascended equipment.
Really guys, this ain’t hard. My pug wiped around 5 times, 2 of them on the first cannon volley. Dodge circles, don’t touch the walls, and don’t res.

Whenever me or my pug touched the walls we were teleported away from them (and right into the AoEs!). Maybe that was a glitch at the time, but I figured it was supposed to be there :/
Warrior if I had to guess(I’m still waaay new). I play mainly a Guardian (in PvP and PvE) but recently I started a Warrior and had maybe 10 kills per death in my first match as a Warrior, lol. I did Sword/Sword and Rifle. Use #4 with Sword for high condition damage, plus lots of bleed stacks.
I didn’t get into PvP until recently, and am only a rank 9. I seriously regret not getting in on these “skyhammer farms” prior so that I could have these awesome finishers
The problem so far with ascended materials is that everyone tends to get a lot of bloodstone dust and either empyreal shards or dragonite ore. People who do big zerg events get lots of dragonite but no empyreal shards, whereas people like me who do lots of dungeons have more than enough empyreal shards but almost 0 dragonite. Solution: Make the darn things trade-able, or have Miyani sell them for coin!
Soooooooo this is another whining thread about how people are left out in this update? The real people who should complain are the PvPers. How long has it been since PvP got a new map?

I thought so at first, but she’s quite different from the joker by now. Unlike him (Who is more Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil), Scarlet feels Chaotic Good.
I seriously think the reveal will be that she’s not actually bad, she’s just taking extreme and morally questionable measures to further an ultimately positive solution to a dragon threat.
That doesn’t really seem to fit with the theme they’ve established for her so far. And Joker from TDK seemed more Chaotic Neutral. Not really a reason for doing anything, but he’s gonna do it anyway :p

Yeah… I kind of want it to be true but not true at the same time. It wouldn’t necessarily be a bad fate for Dessa (she isn’t reliving her death over and over at least) but it is just kind of saddening. Plus I don’t think there’d really ever be a future event that’d let us free her if this was true due to how Fractals seemingly work for now.
Also, on a semi-unrelated note, I think she knows something about the uncatagorized fractal. Wish we could ask her if she knows the crazy cat golem Asura.

She couldn’t bear to watch what had become of him, and that’s why she was silent throughout the fractal, and could only talk long enough to tell you it’s time to leave. They could always update it. Maybe a message scratched into the wall “Dessa can you hear me?” “Dessa can you get me out?”
EDIT: Or better yet we’ll find out that he and Dessa had cat’s with those names.(another EDIT:) Maybe when you walk in, one of the cats will walk over to you. One of the workers will mention something like “Him? Oh that’s just ol’ Tom.” and if you talk to some of the workers they’ll make comments about someone getting stuck in a fractal, or Dessa’s husband going missing. "Careful, don’t get stuck in there like [insert name here]| or “Whatever you do, don’t mention [insert name here] to Dessa. She’s still upset about what happened to him.”

I voted for Evon and I am happy with this fractal. I even like Scarlet (seems like a crime on these forums lol).

What they really need, is better rewards throughout. Right now, I’m running for an ascended backpiece, and due to how boss fractals work, I get around 50 fractal relics from them, but only 7 from other fractals. I get roughly 66 fractal relics per run. Why not give 15 relics per fractal and only 21 at the end of each run?
Pet’s should learn to dodge, not be immune to agony. Since a pet is practically part of you, it should be subject to everything like you are. It makes Agony less of a big deal to Rangers, which isn’t a solution.

Lol, wouldn’t recommend it. The difference here, is they never said they’d release it at 1. 1pm is the standard launch time, but 3pm is around when I’ve seen ’em too.
Why get upset about getting Ascended crafting mats?
Because they’re easy to come by. Up till now we been getting some meaningful rewards like skins and minis. I can get crafting materials anytime I want.
The mini’s I spend a week working for and never use? The skins I store in my bank until I feel comfortable using it? I’ve wanted to use my shatterer wings for awhile now, except I don’t have my ascended back item yet and I want to use it on that (and I can wait a while to save myself the, what, 8 gold to get the gems?)
The 39 instability is enemies explode on death. Anyone with ranged attacks (non-guardians) will be taking extra damage here. The main person this affects is Guardians, as their main ranged abilities are Scepter and Staff.
Source? I was under the impression that they’d be randomized; a bit like a randomly picked Gambit, or an endgame map in PoE.
Did you watch the twitch preview? They directly said each one is set in stone. The 31 one is always the same, the 32 one is always the same, the 33 one is always the same, and the 39 one will always be “Last Laugh” in which the enemy explodes on death.
The reason I voted for Evon is I believed that with him, we could see both Abaddon AND the reactor. Now, we only get a fractal for the reactor. The reactor could’ve gotten it’s own Living Story, but now, it’s left with just a fractal, and odds are we’ll never see Abaddon.

Oh don’t get me wrong, we finished it, it’s just the guy had no idea what he was doing, and started on 10 because his friend told him it was a good idea. If you know what your doing at 35, I think you can make it, but I’d much prefer an exotic’d up 80.
There is no guarantee that said lvl 80 have ever been to the Fractals either though. Just because one is lvl 80 doesn’t mean you have a clue about what you are doing.
Did you read my original statement? It was about how horrible my experiences are with 80s lol. We had an 80 come in with blues equipped saying “yeah, I have no idea what I’m doing. My friend [who was in the pug at this point in time] told me that this was a good place to grind for gear.” If the 35 has spend more time with the game, they’re welcome by all means, but if you’re at 80 w/ exotics odds are you know your way around a little better and you could have some AR.
