This whole thing seems a little backwards to me. Instead of making the other gear better to get it on par with Berserker, they’re just trying to knock Berserker down to the same level as the rest and failing at it. Like @Inimicus said, as long as bosses can one shot you regardless of defense, who will want it? THAT is the real problem, not Berserker stats.

I would have been much happier if the loss of such a major city had a bigger impact. Like a scattering of services. The dungeon vendors all get spread out to their relevant dungeons, the portals go to Vigil, which makes sense, but the forge goes to the Priory. While the Consortium moves to the beach outside the Whispers. The only place to find bank, black lion and crafting now being the other cities. Forcing people to spread out much much more to feel the actual bite of the lose of convenience that LA was.

How ‘bout no? I’m all for the bit on dungeon vendors spreading out, but I’d rather not loose the convenience. Using that stuff in conjunction was a pain in LA, and you want to make it worse?

Just to reinforce my last post.
Red Role: Getting Sohothin in position and detonating it. It will splinter into seperate locations to prevent sylvari from running.
Blue Rule: Clearing out surrounding sylvari and alerting the Tengu to evacuate.

Once the foefire has occured, the remaining ghosts of the army will proceed to execute any sylvari trying to escape and then lay siege to whatever of the grove remains and eventually slay the Pale Tree.

Don’t even think about it, meat sacks we’ll gut you even before you make it any where near the grove

We’ll just shatter Rytlocks sword a couple miles away and wipe out a large area. Then, the sylvari who run will be killed on sight and a siege will be deployed. After that, we’ll simply starve out the Sylvari who remain in the grove.

For all you know we’ve already begun preparations and are tainting the food in the grove as I type.

A zone resets (and nodes change) every time it is unloaded and then loaded again. Now, this always happens when the servers are down for patching/maintenance/whatever, but a lot of people also suspect it happens whenever the zone is completely empty of players. So if a zone has exactly zero players in it, the server unloads it from memory to save resources, and reloads it when a player enters it again.

The sad part of this theory is that it means GW2 is losing a fair amount of players.

You can hold on to your extra blade shards, as the team will be adding something later which will allow you to convert the shards to something of value. Dev will be announcing more on that later. Thanks!

My guess: 100 Blades plus a found heirloom, a bottle of elonian wine, and 10 crystals can be put in the mystic forge giving out 1 Porous Bone.

My theory is that Scarlet will be killed by whatever comes out under the old Lion’s Arch.

I can see it now. The Deep Sea Dragon jumps out, Lion’s Arch is flooded like it used to be and the dragon turns the people into dragon minions. The surrounding zones are flooded too, but to a much lesser extent.

(spoilers) It leads to Cantha, where Scarlet will be stopped! She will then be put in stockades and then for the duration of the update “FINALLY!” we will be able to throw tomatoes, attack, and laugh at Scarlet. After two weeks of the punishment, she will be hung and the players will be able to view the execution.

Unfortunately he lacks the sufficient funding.

Nah Kiel was actually trying, it’s the rest of the council that should be paying for the supplies for the liongaurd and refugees instead of extorting from Evon.

On top of it, all of them were warned by Evon, and they did nothing. Further inaction on the part of Kiel and the rest of the council. They should all be put to death and replaced by people who can get the job done.

Evon is a selfish coward, and in this patch he has proved it. When the Lionguard conscript him to act as a quartermaster in this emergency, he threatens to “pull up stakes” and leave. He’d rather abandon everyone than help. The only reason he stays is the threat of execution. It takes a -death threat- to get that son of a grawl to do his civic duty.

You forget, Kiel did leave. The NPCs say she and Magnus get their own camp in the south. She’s a true leader, abandoning all of her citizens to the Vigil Keep while she get’s a nice little vacation spot? All Gnashblade did was make an empty threat and is now supporting the Lion Guard in retaking Lion’s Arch.

I’m really not following how this is ANet’s fault, nor problem. ANet doesn’t control the market, we do.

Law of supply and demand makes it so the lower supply and higher demand the more it costs. ANet has control over both. They made it super demanded due to Ascended Armor and it doesn’t drop enough to meet demand making the supply go ever lower and driving the price higher and higher.

Furthermore – Anet does control the market. It’s a completely controlled market from top to bottom. We are merely allowed to use it.

Is this person really serious or trolling?

The problem is anet is now made up of islands or communities of departments and suffers from the lack of communication between them. The left hand is not talking with the right hand.

It’s not 100% controlled, we can still set our own prices, but it’s in no way a market economy.

Then don’t read the patch notes. Problem solved. On top of that the patch notes only give a general sense of the story, they don’t go into detail. From the page on Tower of Nightmares:
Some new trouble is growing in Kessex Hills. Carefully hidden by magic, the krait have been working tirelessly on a terror unlike anything seen before in Tyria. Marjory Delaqua and Kasmeer Meade are investigating the illusory curtain that’s cloaking part of Viathan Lake, and they need your help! What secret lies behind the veil?
That’s about what a movie trailer would tell you, wouldn’t you agree? If you still feel that is too much, why not just keep the rewards and gameplay changes? Not a single word of the story will be spoiled, and we’ll still get to see the gameplay.

How have any of the pages actually told you how to beat the content? You can check the release page, but all it does is link to a guide on how to do it. If that is such a big deal, just remove the guide then. Check the page for Super Adventure Box. Nowhere on there does it say how to make the jumps. It gives you the same kind of information that is on the back of a games box.

And on another note, please don’t think I’m one of your “MMO-hoppers”. This is the only MMO I play, and have played around an hour a day since I first logged on. I have never cared for the story, and stopped playing my personal story rather quickly (having never beaten it.) I log on for the dungeons, open world combat, and world bosses. If I want to read update pages like this:

and see what bosses I’ll be fighting, dungeons I’ll be exploring, and rewards I’ll be getting, what’s wrong with that? It “spoils” the same amount of story a movie’s trailer would. If you don’t want that, don’t read them. No one is going to make you.

That is like complaining that a movie trailer didn’t show you the entire plot before you saw the movie. Like actually.

Except, you know, the story of GW2 isn’t the main attraction. The gameplay is. I want to know what I’m playing. How has swapping to trailers boosted people’s hype? All it’s done for me is make me way less excited for the releases. It used to be I’d see what I could play and then the excitement would practically kill me while I was waiting. Now, I watch the trailer on Monday and forget about the update for a week and then log on Wednesday or so to see what I can play.

I haven’t looked forward to any of the updates since they swapped to trailers except for this one, because it seems to have the most potential to change the world out of any LS update. I’ll still log on later today to check what’s happened.

That’s really clutching at straws. There are giant, glowing arrows pointing to the obvious. It is Mordremoth, and it is an Elder Dragon. If I’m wrong, feel free to come back and point fingers. I am absolutely 100% certain of this and nobody will change my mind.

Just as an aside, I didn’t say Sylvari are dragon minions. I said Mordremoth has influence over them that has been shut away purposefully, most likely by the Pale Tree (and I also believe Caithe and Faolain have something to do with this. The “big secret”). That’s different to just being a minion.

Come over to Fort Aspenwood. In an hour or two I got 200 ore from the events (all in one day, not between server resets.) That’s enough for one piece of Ascended per day.

my definition of “significant” differs from yours.

You misunderstand, that 5% difference, is with just the weapon. With all of the armor, it will end up being a lot higher. Say, 10% (a low estimate) in WvW zergs will make a large difference.

For awhile now I’ve gotten mixed numbers on how much of a difference ascended weapons will make, so I decided to calculate it out myself. Using the build found here:

It can be gathered that (at least in WvW) that ascended will make a significant difference. The build used there has all ascended gear in a full berserker format. Changing only the weapon, the damage (on an enemy with 2000 armor) goes from 984 to 1037 (with Strike, the basic #1 attack with a Guardian), which is 53 more damage per attack. Feel free to correct my math, but if it is correct that calculates out to 5% more damage. Just thought I’d share my research here.

To each their own, the shards aren’t as large an issue. (Still an issue) But gold (or silver in this case) is more important to me.

They are equally important to me. I just blew 30 gold buying up more ore for my ascended weapon and now that karma is harder to get it’s gonna be a pain to get all those obsidian shards.

1. We battle for our lives against the giant bosses
2. We defeat them and gain access to Scarlet’s lair, and upon getting in we discover that she is planning an even larger enemy/ she has created a new kind of race
3. We battle the enemy and defeat it/ We kill the only one of the new race and stop her from making more
4. We find out Scarlet was trying to save the world from the elder dragons, but went crazy and started testing her devices designed to save the world on the people inhabiting it.

Don’t think ANet will ever vendorableable so refine them or toss them out. Its takes 100 of the raw mats to make a refined item so they compact pretty quick. Also will have them in hand if anything comes out that you do want to craft (ie precursors if it ever happens).

Not counting the obsidian shards, which can be kind of expensive. 4.2k karma a piece if you can manage to find Balthazar open, or roughly a low level fractal run.

b/ break for insignias (armor, weapon or combine)

A) 22 Mystic Forges with a Greatsword
B) You’d get 89 Greatswords that you could salvage, possibly getting you a pretty penny. Each soldier insignia gets you 3.95 gold, so you could get quite a few gold for it.

Not sure about Necros, but Elementalists already can swap between 4 different attunements, if they could use multiple weapons they’d have waaay more versatility then other classes.
