Healing the Lord and the other guys back to full after a successful defense might decide if you win or lose the battle.
It was technically possible already with Water Elementalists or Ventari Revenants but that took quite some time. Guardians could do that instantly but only every 3 Minutes and they had to dedicate their Elite Slot for that.
With the arrival of the Druid, THE Healer, do you think that we will see at least one of them in every single Match to defend the Lord and take the “base race pressure” from your Team?
Stronghold is definately one of the places i will test the Druid this Weekend, the other one would be Fractals to check how the Projectile -> Healing Barrier interacts with the Special Projectiles there. I am not sure if i want to spoil the first Raid Wing for myself this Weekend.

It is not hard to reflect an arced Projectile with WoR (you still see it’s red circle) so it won’t be hard to hit an arced Projectile with SC either. If their comment means that the Projectile stays in it’s arc and not magically changing the direction, i am fine with it.
- Green Arrow how i would have no Problem with arced Projectiles, Red Arrow how it would make no sense.

My Ranger has more mobility than anything besides — maybe — a warrior.
Until HoT arrives, then Dare Devils will be the undisputed Kings of Mobility, even without Shortbow. :-)
But i will stick with Druid i guess, because Natural Stride is the most convenient Speed Boost in the whole game, closely followed by Facet of Elements.
I would wager a guess that it works the same as Wall of Reflection aside from converting, rather than reflecting, them with the same catalog of applicable projectiles.
That’s for the Visuals, but the difference between SC and WoR is: with SC the Projectiles still hit you while with WoR they never touch you at all.
There are a few Options for you:
- Take Signet of the Hunt for +25%
- (after HoT Launch)Take Druid and Natural Stride for +33%
- Take Rune of Speed or Traveller
- Use Warhorn
- Trait Resounding Timbre and and spam low CD Shouts
So I have a few questions about Sublime Conversion and certain Projectiles. First the Fact that we know for sure or that is 99% likely:
• It will only work on Projectiles that are not unblockable
That is fine and dandy, but there are quite a lot special Projectiles that are blockable and here are my Questions:
• What happens to the Fire Tornadoes/Big Fireballs in the Molten Facility Weapontest? Will they turn into tiny healing darts upon entering the Wall or do they go through as is, only healing instead of applying damage? What happens to the Fire Field of the Fireballs or the Launch of the Tornadoes on impact?
• Mai Trin’s Teleport Shot, is it still considered her skill and teleports her to you after you are healed?
• Harpies in Asura Fractal. Everyone loves their Balls of Frustration (at least I find them funny). Will they have mercy with you and heal you before they throw you down or will their Launch just fizzle?
• The Electric Pong Bars on the Stairs in the Asura Fractal, now that I think about it, it should be pretty clear at least in this case, no question, just an honorable mention
• What about all the Agony inflicting Projectiles in Fractals, will they still apply Agony or is the Trigger for that the Damage and not the Hit itself?

Technically, that is the right Order. There is not much overlap between the Campaigns. but there is some, so if you want to live the Story 100% in Order, you should go by that.
Mhenlo was one of the examples, if you play Prophecies before Factions, you will have an “oh cool” Moment when you meet him in Cantha because you know him already, otherwise he is just a generic NPC you know nothing about. Another one is Gwen. If you never played Prophecies, she is just a random Mesmer you meet in EOTN. Another Example is Nightfall, i don’t want to spoil too much, but you will meet important Characters from Prophecies and Factions in Nightfall. If you play just Nightfall, that would be nothing special for you but if you played the other two beforehand you would have another of those “oh cool Nostalgia” Moments.
No Mesmers were the new Thieves. Now they’re the current Thieves.
So if Engineers are the new Thieves, and Mesmers are the current Thieves, that means that Engineers are the new Mesmers?
EDIT: Ok, your Point was about the current Situation where DD does not exist, but with a look at HoT, Thieves who are willing to take DD will be unrivaled when it comes to Mobility, even if you drop Shortbow.

Thief is a +1/decapper. How can it do this? Exclusively because of Shortbow 5. Have you ever tried to get around the map without a shortbow? It’s so abysmally slow that I wouldn’t even say the class is worthy of the name “Thief” anymore.
Yeah. It’s not the most mobile profession. It’s the profession with access to the most mobile weapon set. Without Shortbox cemented into our second weapon set slot, we’re not a better decapper than anyone with a ranged blink. Especially since ours is the longest cooldown of all professions.
Distance traveled with a single rotation:
• 2x 900 Units from Inf. Arrow or 3x 600 Units from Vault
• 1200 Units from Shadow Step
• Up to 6x 450 Units with Dash (3x Base, 2x from SoA, 1x from Channeled Vigor)

Sure it is not optimal, but claiming that other Professions are more mobile than Dare Devil without SB is just false. If we want to dedicate our build to it, no one holds water against the Mobility of a Dare Devil. Even if we remove Inf. Arrow from that Equation, we still end up with 5700 Units because 3 Vaults equal 2 Inf. Arrows.
For some people, Mobility might not be a selling point, but when it comes to Mobility Thief/Dare Devil are miles ahead of the rest.
EDIT: Ok, your Point was about the current Situation where DD does not exist, but with a look at HoT, Thieves who are willing to take DD will be unrivaled when it comes to Mobility, even if you drop Shortbow.

That Race, i see.
The story, from what little I played in the betas, is pretty good. I like the way it’s being handled. It feels darker than previous stories, which I like.
Darker than your companion’s sibling getting killed in front of your eyes?
Darker than watching as your race’s leadership tacitly condones the slaughter of another race because he believes yours to be superior?
Darker than having to participate in the slaughter of friendly Centaurs, even knowing that your “love” attacked first and her violent obsession will drive your entire race into ruin?
- The Belinda part was not very dark for me. She was just a “Hi Sister, Bye Sister”-Character, i had no Connection to her.

- The Centaur part felt awful for me. I would have prefered to not fight at all, but i had to kill the Centaurs to progress. Even leaving my Mentor to die on the Claw Island was not as heartbreaking as killing those Centaurs…
Pistol has 1050 with Ankle Shots.
As it is not even written on the Ankle Shot trait tooltip that there is a range increase, one could say it is not supposed to be 1050 (or 1200 for shadow shot), but 900 indeed.
The Range increase was there from release, (maybe not on Ankle Shots) so technically Pistols always had 1050 if you were willing to trait for it.
To say that voice actors don’t make a difference to the quality of the title is nuts. Did you guys play GW1 Factions? The voice acting was awful, and it definitely impacted the game. Voice actors deserve to be reasonably paid. Games that sell 2mil copies can afford it.
What? Factions had awesome voice work (at least the German Version). We had Shredder from the 90s Turtles Cartoon as Shiro and Arthur Spooner as the Oracle of the Mists. The GW2 Shiro feels meh because it is another voice actor and Shredder fitted Shiro perfectly.
Stick a Sylvari NPC in the story who can talk to non-sylvari players to give them an idea of what’s going on.

Oh and our ranged weapon(s) has a maximum range of 900 as far as I’m aware.
(Well 900+240 – so 1340 – if done perfectly on a cluster bomb, just hope they don’t move…)

The Stomping Stylepoints already go to DareDevil and Impact Strike.
The Stealth Gyro is great against Nika and absolutely mega awesome WITH Nika.
The Gyro gives Stealth to Nika which removes her from the Minimap, while Nika gives Stealth to the Gyro, removing it from the field of view.
I think it’s a fantastic idea because it makes sense.
Do you really think the plant dragon that has 0 control over any other should be called to it to be it’s minion? It’s a great idea what they are doing. So I have been thinking lately how with the recent Tweet from ANet which more or less suggests that we will be getting 500 cooking with HoT, will this “ascended” cooking give us something similar to consumable sets (consets) from GW1?

If you read the Gamespot Article about the Voice Acting, the Tweet was referring to a cooking Show with a GW2 Theme at Twitchcon, not necessary about Cooking 500.
Roll a sylvari, or better yet just wait a week and people will post the vids on youtube. I see nothing wrong with a race being unique, and seeing as it fits the dragon/plot in this case I say good job ANet.

Last prediction: Aspects will be seasonal and Druids will be walking Nature Rituals that pulse effects/environmental changes in a ~1200 range, which would very easily change the “pvp landscape”.

As far as I know, Spirits are treated the same way as Turrets, in which they scale from the player’s Condition Damage, Condition Duration, Boon Duration, Healing Power and considered a separate entity. The exception is Spirit of Nature, but that’s currently bugged and is supposed to scale with the player’s Healing Power.
I don’t think Anet would allow Moment of Clarity to work with Storm Spirit unless they shortened the duration of the active Daze. Would possibly be worried if it were to happen, seeing how they balance things out, they might chainsaw the initial daze just so it can have a 3s daze with MoC slotted.
they have not chainsawed Technobabble (6s Daze with MoC) which is easier to hit than Storm Spirit (not AoE, I give you that)

Sorry, but how did the changes to Mallyx have anything to do with it? you always were able to cap Torment Duration with 45% from Runes, the 33% from the Trait and Food/whatever.

I think I meant that the effectiveness (end power result) of it will be more or less better due to increases in torment duration (base ones) across the board for mallyx.
That or I simply worded that part of post poorly.
If you were thinking “Well Mallyx can now throw even more Torment around than before” then i agree.
The Changes to #9 and #0 are awesome for Torment application. But that is the Problem i now have with the Revenant. Before those changes, Mallyx was not needed for Torment application, all you needed was Corruption and Mace. I was happy that i could throw around Torment with Mace/Shield + Staff and Ventari/Glint without gimping myself by not using Mallyx.
Now, it would be foolish to not take Mallyx for a Torment Focus, but then i would either have to drop Ventari (I use Healing/Condi Hybrid Gear) OR I have to drop Glint, which will remove 20% Crit Chance and Perma Swiftness so i would crawl around Tyria with Ventari/Mallyx.
We can now at least easily cap Torment duration with Runes of Tormenting + our passive and any food :>

You remember how they balanced Invincible Spirit Weapons? By removing the “Invincible”.
That is why they have a Fuel System.
Fuel limits how long the drones can be used which serve as their HP.
While they can’t be destroyed they have a limited amount of time to remain active.
Like the 20s Duration on Spirit Weapons, they are not different. Face it, if they make Drones invulnerable at Launch, they will soon lose that Feature and get a health bar like the Spirit Weapons.

at least Kämpfer und Schläger would fit the Draufgänger we already have with the DareDevil.
What i miss from GW1 spirits is their game changing nature. They applied their effects to everyone, friend or foe, changing the rules of the fight for everyone. I bet we’d be more in demand in wvw if we had access to a Frozen Soil spirit that prevented rezzes or made anyone die when downed (including allies, of course).
The current GW2 spirits are just self-destructible banners that you can’t pick up.

from what was datamined it sounds like Drone’s can’t be destroyed nor harmed.
However, to balance these invincible Drones they use a Fuel system so Drones can only remain active as long there is enough fuel.
Looks like Scrapper may be a resource management system type profession being fuel as the Scrapper’s resource.
You remember how they balanced Invincible Spirit Weapons? By removing the “Invincible”.
I remember something from A-Net along the lines of “Engineers will get a Steam mechanic that has to be built up”.
Think about it like Lifeforce, you build it up with your Hammer and the Drones drain it slowly while active.
Another simpler Options: Which other AI do we know that has “limited fuel”? Ding Ding Ding, Guardians Spirit Weapons only last a few seconds!
On the positive side, the last word from Arena Net was “There will be no Wipe between BWE1 and BWE2”. They never said that there will be no wipe between BWE1 and Final BWE.

A legendary mawdrey would be great IF I could change its color, I simply never use mine because it it currently purple, I’m getting a bit tired of all these girly themed items, purples, pinks etc, this game needs more fierce looking stuff….
One insecure Guy detected. There is nothing girly about the Color Purple, and back in the Days (at least in Germany), Pink was considered the Boy Color until someone decided: “Meh, thats pretty girly”.
It’ was also interesting to see the names of the enemy’s attacks, there was always a couple ones with funny or amusing names in GW1 that if the same was done in GW2 you’d never know that what they were.
Let them hit you and check the Log afterwards :-P

Totally not! There was not much I did not like about OOT, but the HEY! LISTEN! Spam was definately one of them.
I was more often in the OS when it was still part of the EB. Whenever i am there now (normally i don’t have a reason to be) there is noone there, not a single Person. Stealth might be a Problem, but you can bring Rangers and Engineers to reveal them. It is quite a corridor to the Arena IIRC so it is hard to avoid the revealing AoE-Spam from the Engineer.
So you have to bring people for the GvG and you have to organize guards plus you can´t control the trolls of your own server because you can´t do anything about them. Seriously ?
You still have the Option to move to EotM and look for a nice GvG Place, there noone cares about the Points.
GvG´s is something you don´t look for mate, it´s something you organize with your opponents so it does not happen “by accident” which pretty much rules EOTM out.
About your right to play how you want: Sure you GvGers can play how you want, AS LONG as you don’t disturb the flow of the WvW and not handicap your Server.
You can hate GvG´ers all day if you want, they are part of the WvW community as you are whether you accept that or not. And the argument that they handicap the server is a bit flawed to be honest. GvG´s if not perma disturbed by trolls last 1h to 1,5h after that most guilds participate in WvW if not by siegeing then in wiping out enemy zergs.
And by the way, what is more likely? That a Troll disturbs your GvG in Obs into unplayability or that a Zerg comes by your GvG at Stonemist and mows you all down?
To be honest that trolls disturb you GvG in OBS is a gurantee. I am not sure about stonemist because i think nobody is that kittened to do a GvG there. The GvG´s i participated in used to be on the regular borderlands where the windmill is.
Of course you can do things against the Trolls on your Server, you have an Enemy in that GvG, let them organize Guards aswell. Yours take care of their Trolls and their Guards take care of your Trolls. It might suck but that is a price you have to pay to organize something that is not supported by the Developers.
If it is your right to misuse the WvW Map for GvG that doesn’t contribute in the slightest to the WvW Matchup, i guess it is the right of every single WvW Player to jump in and attack all the Red Names, because they are Enemies and killing them is an objective in WvW. I mean if you insist on sitting on the WvW map and refuse to go to places where you don’t handicap the Server, you have to expect being hit by a Treb every now and then, or being attacked by the other Servers. They are not Trolls, they are playing how WvW is meant to be played.
