Meanwhile, arenanet is allowing glory farm servers, instead reworking the glory rank reward system, they are making it ranks show unskilled and unexperienced players instead what it meant in guild wars 1.
To prevent all this they should just award rank for winning.
P.s: shark finisher better than phoenix. Fix asap.
Also I didn´t talk about temple being 80% appearance in solo q, but I think most players have experienced this issue too.

To start with, I feel good to be able to play solo Q and thank the developers for their time taken to make it, (better late than never).
The problem is, the way it has been implemented.
After 500 games in this new solo Q, I´ve worked hard to be around top 100, going from % ratings to top 1000, having played in every step of the tree.
In this topic I´m going to summarize some of the flaws the system presents with some possible solutions, in hopes some “Red” takes a momment to read it and communicate it to the PvP Team.

1.
Players with 15 / 20 games played without a 90% win rate, in a “10 game test to determine your initial rating (with matches probably not against top players)”, should not belong to the top 100 leaderboard (and in some cases, not to their current rating, I´m talking about lots of people being rank 200-300-400-500 etc, with some balances like 20-15, or so on.
There has to be taken into consideration that lots of those “initial ranking 10 matches” have been against randoms in order to compute their rating, thats not fair to determine you are a top 100 by just winning against random / low ranked players.
This fact is angering a lot of the players I know (and I play with every day) that have 100+ games, being a high amount of them in the top ranked, against top 200 players. The effort the last ones had to put in order to stay on top of the tree, facing every day top teams in order to stand in top rating, is just not comparable to people who completed a few games and stopped there.
Solution: Take in account players who do not play solo Q actively, in order to make them decay in leaderboards. Take in account players who consistently match high ranked players to give them a real rating that shows where their competitive scene stands.
It is easy to realize that someone who is 80 wins above played in top ranked matches, should be higher rating than someone who is just 5 or 10 wins above played in top matches or random (10 games test initial ranking) matches.

At certain time frames, system does not find enough players from a similar rating to fill up 10 spots. Then what it does, is takes any player available to play. It doesn´t matter if you are top 10, you will get rank 900 and % players in your team.
Probably the enemy team will have to compensate this, let´s say, x2 rank´s 300 plus some % guys.
Well, mathematically things may compensate, but in practice, it is not the same that 2 veterans play with 3 news, against 4 medium ranked and 1 new. It is very likely that the medium players will capitalize on the 3 news and therefore you end up losing the match.
The problem with this, is if you lose this matches, your rating will drop hard. But ironically, the thing i´ve experienced is, if you win this kind of unbalanced matches, your rating won´t go up much.
To summarize this hard explanation: It all depends on if the enemy team has at least 1 or more top or higher ranked guy, if you win, you will increase rating, depending on the number or high/similar ranked players in the enemy team.
The funny thing is: if you get paired with low ranked players, and you somehow lose against a low ranked team at the same time, that will punish you a lot, and drop at least 30 rating places. Anyways, if you win, from personal experience, your rating won´t change in this situation, maybe 1-5 higher positions.
Well, personally, I don´t think if this is fair or not, or if I´m supposed to have the build or spec to carry without trusting in a team. I think this matches shouldn´t account for rating.
Solution: Make it so when the system is not allowed to put 10 similar rating players, it pops up an advertise telling that the match won´t affect your current rating, but you are still able to play a solo Q game. (this is not that hard).
3.
A point where most people will coincide with me: Lack of rewards.
It is true that we play for the fun and the competitive matches, and we are hoping for a system who makes us face players from our same skill ceiling and experience.
But there has to be some rewards for climbing the ladder. You reward every effort in pve, why not in pvp?
Solution: This is fairly easy, consumables, dyes, PvP skins, PvP armors, PvP Legendaries? Titles, etc…
There may be some flawss the following responses add, but I feel I have explained the most important ones above.

It has me clueless since solo Q has been released.
It is supposed that you raise your rating when you win, but that doesn´t really happen.
When I was 33 wins I had 190, now that I am 40 wins above, I´m 270, why is this?
Are there other factors to determine rating won, like ratings in enemy team?
There is people who rarely played solo Q, like pve people from my server, with about 14 wins- 5 losses, and they are top 100…
While Forsaker, per example, needed 800 wins / 400 losses to be top 20 or so.
I even heard of some top 200´s talking about personal score in the matches getting you better rating reward…
Anyone knows about this?

Im top 200 solo Q right now and it is the only map i really enjoy and want to play often.
dude it doesnt favor certain classes.
-Engineers have massive cc via bombs, knockbacks, pulls.
-Rangers have n4 longbow, pet fear, lsword knockback.
-mesmers have pulls.
-guardians got launchs stabilities.
-necros got fear.
-wars got launchs too.
-eles also have some launch skills.
it is a really l2p issue wether u want to see it or not.
saying guardian is a lil bit better and necro for that map doesnt change anything
· It is a fun map.
· It is original.
·It allows you to play an special build for that map, instead having to run the horrible meta time over time.
·Cannon is balanced, you can easily see it coming, not like trebuchets (you dont always have the perfect camera position to check treb), and you have enough time to get out of range.
·And yes, smart use of stability, knockbacks, pushes, pulls, launchs, engages and disengages is key for this map.
trebuchet is much harder to see when u are in clocktower and middle of fight, u cant always evade.
in the other hand, cannon u can all the time see the circle and colour and there is more than enough time to get out of there.
for me it is a balanced map
We all know Temple of the silent storm has a very high election rate
also legacy/forest/kyhlo in a lower rate
and finally spirit watch + skyhammer.
please make it so it is completely random, no 90% temple then decreasing percentage depending on map.

the map is pretty good and balanced.
the thing is it just needs special builds with knockbacks pulls launchs and stabilities
this map is really great for pvp diversity it makes you have to run a different build compulsory so its good and very fun.
we need to be able to see where our teammates are at any momment, not by pressing m….

no no, its about developing a rich pvp in game modes, trait synergies, balance, rewards, and all those thing that should´ve been there in reléase.
And out of all these things you listed, the one thing I’d be able to agree upon would be lackluster rewards, granted the game only offers you 1 game mode, but that game mode is also perfectly fine for competitive play, traits could always be worked upon and this holds true for any game where option X locks you out of option Y which is the case with traits, overall however, I’d say the traits are fine.
Balance could not have been present for launch as the game was on the whole, untested, aside from that the vast majority of the complainers regarding balance are simply experiencing someone better than them beating them to a bloody pulp.when a large mass of the population states their disconform with the pvp mode, its because there are wider reasons than "shifting / suiting " The meta to their likes. You can speak to lots of people in the mists and they´ll tell you the same thing, we lack tons of content for a rich pvp.
This is pure speculation, the “large mass” that you talk about is infact an unknown variable, as far as you and I know, it might be less than .1% of the players who are actually being vocal about it.
And you can talk to an equal amount of people who simply loves the PvP the way it is, but they’d like some better rewards or more achievementpoints, regardless; until you present a survey where you question a significant amount of players in the mists, you’re just speculating.Therefore, hype unadecuatly provided, demands unsatisfied for the vast majority of customers. As for your “healthy pvp experience”, that would be simply put: If you enjoy playing it and you can do so without throwing hissy fits, then you’re having a “healthy” pvp experience. I can do that right now even while solo queuing.
If you are somewhat masochist and you like to get stomped hundred times every day 500-5 by premade teams vs pugs, then i can tell you, you´re not a good example of what a healthy pvp experience is for a player.
The majority is out there when you go to the mists, ask people that plays pvp for more than a month, and they´ll tell you all these things need to be adressed.
You dont need any survey to realize what´s most people thinking and demanding about pvp right now.

The only thing that ArenaNet promised anyone was a game to play. And they delivered on that promise.
If you really want to think that, go ahead your thoughts are personal, but that doesn´t mean it is the reality. (And there must be a reason why so many people feels cheated by their promises).
There´s been a lot of talk about e-sports (since the development and after) by arenanet, but i´m not here to demonstrate it to you. You might want to check by yourself.

Bull kitten. The customers have not been betrayed in any way. The egos of the people who play this game might have been slighted because of the shortcomings of PVP, shortcomings which ArenaNet has always been aware of and transparent about, but in what way has any betrayal happened?
This is a video game, Othello, put your strawberry embroidered hankie away, log in, and put up or shut up. The game is what it is, and what you make of it is, largely, irrelevant.
Not for arenanet. Actually arenanet should care a lot about what are the feelings of their customers, and their level of satisfaction, because this is one of the variables that determines a future purchase on their company, and ear-to-ear feedback.
So what customers feel about the game, is indeed, quite relevant.
And right now, feelings in the big majority of population, are neggative. Tho this is not only me, this is what you can see every day, fórums and in game.
If this happened to be my company i´d be non-stop working to add new game modes, real reward system, balance, and stuff like this. But it happens to be only 1 mini-team working in pvp, then you can´t say they care much.

For the money these unuseful custom arenas cost, i´d rather buy any other videogames like final fantasy xiv with 1-2 months subscription
The introduction of the solo arenas wont change now the frustration we´ve got past from fighting full premade teams.
If you really wana save this bad pvp you´ve got to créate excellent new game modes and completely focus on pvp for at least half a year.
otherwise say bye to the population, since its already dead.
