Yes, and I one conquested the whole Stonemist Castle on my own.
True story.I know it’s hard to admit that you weren’t up to the job, but it does explain quite neatly your antipathy to the game.
Edited so I don’t get infracted. lol
Yes, I admit I wasn’t, I got fed up with everything too fast and In the end I didn’t even care what was going on or whether our server was losing or not. I even started trolling people leading them to the wrong places (which by the way was more entertaining).
As for the GVG and HA, anyone who ever played it seriously will admit that those modes were much more competitive and skill intensive than anything we have currently in GW2, both WvW and sPvP.

Yes, and I one conquested the whole Stonemist Castle on my own.
True story.
And I quit WvW because of the repetitive and boring gameplay.
HA and GvG spvp modes were more skillful and enjoyable for my taste.
No I was Commander.
I’ll give you the best 5 GW2 WvW players out there and match them against 20 mindless zergers and make them fight on a clear field. I wonder which side will win.
WvW is a joke, assuming there are roles in WvW, it doesn’t even matter, the team with the biggest zerg will win anyway.
In PvE, it doesn’t matter what class you play, if you cant deal damage, you’re useless. Damage is everything.
I’d rather have 10 000 unbalanced skills and customization than no customization at all.
Imagine how fun would it be to play WvW suicide squad running in a zerg under Death Nova.
Or holding tanking 20 mindless payers with Shadow Form.
Or play as supportive Imbagon.
Instead we get 8 generic DPS classes.
Pretty much, GW1 was unique, GW2 seems more generic with few “new” renamed things, dynamic events for example.
They lied. Manifesto video was full of lies to get people hyped and to get more attention, potential players.
That being said, some people are completely happy about this game and everything about it, and that’s fine, but this is not the sequel of GW1.
The moment someone releases MMO with GW1 mechanics, I’ll quit this game and never look back.
Or they can just copy paste UW and FoW into GW,
No, never mind, with the current combat mechanics and annoying bosses that wouldn’t work.
Plus, people would cry like back when Clock Tower JP was added, those horrible player who cried… I guess that’s why they have not added anything hard anymore, that and they cant.
“Lies are not lies if the intention of the lies are good. "
They’re still lies hypocrites.
They failed to deliver what they hoped to achieve/what they promised.
That or I played the wrong game.
Devs don’t care.

Calm down people, I watched this trailer for this MMO coming out, and it seems really promising. Can’t wait.

- The core combat mechanics are bad/overly simplified.
- Auto-attacking is sufficient to easily get through 99% of the content.
- Skills are very generic. No choice in skills.
- Most traits are ineffectual and barely change anything.
- The AI is terrible.
If this game required a subscription, it would have died faster than AOC/WAR/SW:TOR.
Indeed. That’s one of the biggest issues for me.
Skin not armor.
Obsidian armor was arguably more easily obtainable than legendary in this game.
I recall doing UWscs for whole 2 weeks (2h daily) to get 400k to buy that big mini kraken thing.
Armor meant nothing? What?
Did your Warrior ever wear level 7 armor doing HM missions or PvP?
As far as I remember the ony 2 builds that used low level armor were 600HP and 55HP.
“Quite easily” I fail to see how 4 hours is on pair with 20+ hours (without crafting).
How come GW1 was less grindy than GW2 and I played it x10 times more for 5 years.
I guess the game wasn’t meant for me, too bad I was too naive and trusted their lies – “Manifesto”.I mean, in GW1, you could easily get max level and armor and weapons in under than 4 hours.
This post has more lies in it than the manifesto does. lol
What exactly?
Cantha, new character→ Rush through the first missions (first island) 2-max 3 hours, rush to EOTN, Go to Brawling Dungeons (Or whatever was it called) buy best XP scrolls, repeat the dungeon few times, and level 20.
As for the armor – you could easily get level 20 armor with a level 2 in Nightfall.
Oh, by all means, I’m just voicing my opinion, the game can stay as it is.
Hey, if people like it, then, that’s great!
I personally feel deeply disappointed. Notice, personally.

Level? 37.
I got bored, bad rewards all the time, It was easier to earn money through the TP.
Plus, even though I had money, I had absolutely nothing I wanted to buy in game.
I agree, I it would be nice if they added bakc HA in GW2, then I would never go back to PvE.
So you done every thing in the game rank 20 in spvp (not sure what the cap is atm) level 100 ish in WvW? level 40 ish in FOTM? Got dungeon master? Have you done all of this? If not you have no idea what is skillful content.
More or less yes – All Dungeons with all paths, FOTM, Full Ascended, Exotic Armor and Weapons, 100% map, etc, in around 350 hours total play time with different alts, however I didn’t play WvW much because quite frankly I don’t like ZvZvZ.
Haven’t played for more than 2 hours in last 2-3 months.
Or have Arena Net mentioned anything about adding real skillful and hard content?
Just how easy can GW2 get?
Arena Net still ignoring this thread, as usual they don’t care about their fan base.
Good gameplay and PvP.
I would have never played one single speed run in Mirror’s Edge for 3+ hours if I knew I would get nothing for it.
How do you display to someone you’re a better player than he is?
For example in GW1, when I started playing Heroes Ascent, my goal was to become as good as the top rated people, I would have never played for hours searching for a team just because of “fun”. It was painfully slow and mind-numbing boring at times but when I reached rank 3 I knew it was worth it and that kept be going up until rank 8.
I’d do that If I’d get rewarded for that with at least a Title that can be displayed over my name and which would actually mean something, or a special /emotion.
Can’t name you which ones they were, it was like 14+ years ago on SEGA.
I can give you other example though. Mirror’s Edge Time Challanges, I’ve played one single level for 3 hours just to get time that was required.then it really should not have taken you that long.
When it comes to Mirror’s Edge time challenges I didn’t see a point in doing them when most of the records seemed to be done by hacking “Finish this challenge under 10 minutes, the fastest record for this is 5 seconds”. Can’t wait for Mirror’s Edge 2 though
It was about 3 years ago, when I got my first Xbox and I wan’t all that great with consoles and controllers.
It was easy if you weren’t aiming (if I remember correctly) for max stars for the achievement, it was if you were.
Imagine trying to achieve 6 minute speed run for 3+ hours, failing and failing and failing and failing all the time, and you keep playing and playing and playing and playing untill you’re really good and then when you finally achieve it – it’s a great feeling. I don’t think you can feel the same in this game, unless if you’re aiming for Legendary.
Back in days I remember playing 2d platformers for 2-3 hours straight just to get pass one level.
Now? Now what do we have?
Games that literally reward you for doing nothing, where people are lazy and want everything to be handled them for free with no work.may I ask what those platformers where? Old games without saving can be completed in 2 hours in total and were 6 hours long max.

It hasn’t
Much.
/thread.
It’s not about the reward, it’s about the """""""""experience"""""""""".
/typicalgw2fanboi
I prefer doing stuff that really takes skill and effort.
It’s dumb that GW2 rewards you literally for everything – talk to NPC +1 Achievement point. Really? Chop down some trees +1.
Hardcore server? Sounds interesting enough.
I was looking through my old GW1 UW screenshots, and I doubt ANet will ever be able to recreate anything similar to in in GW2.
Yes you can argue UW wasn’t all that hard after you mastered it, however, at least there was a learning curve unlike in GW2.
People had to work together, each player had their role and if one player failed, the whole team was kicked out of the instance.
Anyways, that’s just me rambling and being disappointed.
Why aren’t there any challenging dungeon?
Why aren’t there any challenging jumping puzzles?
Why aren’t there any challenging events?
Guild Wars 2 players hate challenge and everything that’s not easily obtainable and time consuming.
This is by no means next generation MMO and there’s no real good innovations either, and no, DEs and hearts are renamed quests.
Here’s another question, why is it so easy.
Its not hard to earn money, its just boring, same as everything else in this game.
“You will not see most dungeons. I’ve never been beyond AC story and I’m pretty sure alot of others haven’t either. "
Yes, dumb down this game even more, make the difficulty “bellow easy”.
GW1 was mostly PvP game when it launched. And after first year we already had Factions.
GW1 was.

What does it matters what we minority, elite, hardcore players want, Arena Net doesn’t care.
More gem items. More RNG.
Guild Wars 2 is losing hype/popularity even faster than Guild Wars 1 did, look at the Google Trends and see how the score has drastically dropped since the release.
(edited by Nick.6972)
I’d rather have Arena Net stop making this boring living story and start making expansion which I would gladly pay for if they added new skills and better PvP modes.
Thank you for correcting me, She is 100% correct. and added a point i was missing. FUN! god i remember when i first started tanking FoW there was a lot of yelling for a res lol, could we have an 11th skill for ressing. This would give so much more depth into what Anet could put out in the way of content.
A lot of people ‘neglect’ the fun factor. Games have turned into jobs these days. Its about how efficient you can be, how fast you can get the shiney (oooo shiney), no longer really about the teamwork or about just having a laugh with random people or just enjoying yourself as you find new things. There have been any number of occasions (in both GW1 and GW2) where the group I was with has completely died and it was FUN. More of a ‘what the heck just happened’ moment then a ‘its so-and-so’s fault’ moment. Pure, simple, and enjoyable. I think we need more of this, things that inspire these types of moments rather than something hard for the sake of being hard.
Oh, and I forgot to add…tanks are so overrated :p I think we did FoW (even in the old days) without a tank 95% of the time. Uber monkage ftw!
Player: -dies- Where’d my bond go?
Monk: I removed it
Player: WHAT? Why?
Monk: Because you’re a moron
Player: Rez me!
Monk: Why?
Player: …Ah, the good old days….
Agree .
What about PvE challenge missions – survive waves of monsters as long as you can.
It would be quite easy to make in my opinion and it would be a good start on improving the end game for those who want it.
Make a leader boards and award the monthly/weekly best team.
Active forum users form less than 1% of the playerbase. even if 99% of the players here on this site don’t want harder content, doesn’t mean all the other people in game thinks the same.
I imagine 2 years from now people will still call this game new, right?
…i’m looking for something that myself and party can expect to fail at, and have to push and plan to achieve success.
Did you try the game of life? You know, finish school, get a job, get married and have kids, try to pay off the mortgage? Given your expectations of failure, you might like the game of life.
Yeah curse those nolifers who play several hours a week and who don’t like easy content and who already have the things you mentioned.
Really? Wasn’t aware of that.
Why make hard content that requires skill, players would enjoy hello kitty minigame more.
