Colin and I were having lunch a short while ago. During lunch we were sharing experiences from Adopt-a-Dev. He started talking about this amazing moment he had while on scouting duty where he spotted an attack on Stone Mist castle that was happening from the inside and was able to call in reinforcements in time to thwart it. Halfway through I stopped him and cursed his name. He was confused at my reaction until I told him that the attack he stopped was the one from my guild, DmD and I was part of that attack. He correctly guessed that we snuck a mesmer into the castle after IOJ took down one of their walls.

We would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for them darned kids scout!

Which part made you laugh? The fact of scouting duty or when they compare the loot gained from their respective activities? Or perhaps just the “freshness” of something routine?

If you see X’s Trebuchet Build Site when everyone’s putting down Flame Rams, you’ll know exactly who’s responsible.

Actually that would help alleviate quite a bit on our server only commander throws siege as well. So people wont ussually build stuff by random players unless they think its the commander who threw it.

I do not know how much this would be possible, as I know it has taken a long time to implement colors for Commander tags due to constraints.

However, what if siege was able to be cancelled for a certain amount of time after placement. Within the first five seconds or something. This would unfortunately cancel any supply that had been put into it making that as a lost amount but at the same time if it was tied to a commander tag, it would give commanders more control.

Perhaps commanders could get a build (f-yellow) button and a destroy (X value-red) button that pops up when they stand over/near seige.

Pro’s-Commander have more control over siege placement to stop a troll or, even to cancel the throwing of a mistaken ram on SM’s wall…

Con’s-Like above there are trolls with commander tags that could tag up just to cancel however that is an obvious action that people will see, the popping of a tag right next to you.

This would help alleviate the problem.

A siege troll can stalk players and cancel their builds before it is finished.

Yep I get that, but the commander will know who it is and can port away leave that player/commander tag behind. Also hence the timer. The window for cancel would be short.

More weather. I absolutely love the sand events in Drytop. I love the snow and rain in EOTM.

Weather that releases unusual events or items is pretty cool in my opinion. I would say that some of the things that have occured (as with kessex hills acid rain makes sense here) would engage some changes that could potentially be alot of fun. Just my two cents.

I would also like to see maybe not so much big landscape changes but maybe some unsteady ground.. that drops you into hidden treasure troves or something of that nature. Like quicksand but with more reward. (maybe you find a roaming group of the dredge fight em and take thier goodies… River currents that drag you under to hidden grottos ect. I know these are pretty advanced ideas but perhaps it suggests some changes that could be made.

My guild and I recently transferred in a solid Night crew/early morning guild who has enjoyed every moment with you. I look forward to seeing this server grow in the future and reach new heights!

I have fun with my friends, and we do crazy wild things sometimes to just blow off the steam. We do naked zergs, and toy zergs and ladies night…

We have fun! Try to think outside the box and look at it as an open environment a giant playground. That said I have found the more fun we have the better our server is doing in the match up!

I am always surprised at how harsh people can be. It makes me feel a bit bad for you guys having to deal with it but I guess we learn to take the bad with the good.

I am on ET, one of the “bronze tier servers”. At the moment, we are doing well in WvW and moving up. However on that note, the thing that excited me the most about EOTM was that I would get a chance to play with other servers! The opportunity to meet new people and fight in a different tier persay, was thrilling to me. I have learned alot of different tactics ect. I know some people are very dedicated to their servers and will hate this aspect. I do love ET but I am not adverse to sharing things with other servers.

However, maybe it could be implemented partially? Not on borderlands but in EB? I dont’ know that’s probably a can of worms that is impossible to deal with but its a thought.

Tournaments is coming up and population imbalance is one of the most cried about things, across the board so something like this, would be great in my opinion.

I LOVE that matches are shorter in EOTM.

Also I love that supply is handled differently and siege is not as important in EOTM. Its not gone, it just takes a back seat. There’s alot more killing.. I like killing.

WvW like many other structures of this game, has become a world full of max damage and lack of liability. People forget that the important thing is that your actually good at what you do.

I will take a ranger who is good at what they do over the top meta build any day.

So some may hate on rangers, but they are welcome to run with me any day.

AKD is very dedicated to WvW. They work hard every night of the week. They also are alot of fun to work with. AKD has great programs for commander training, new to WvW training and are a well coordinated team of players.

They are a premier group here on ET and they definitely know how to get stuff done!

Here Is one of my thoughts in regards to improving the commander functionality in WvW. You can add all sorts of items but if your commanders don’t know how to use them it is difficult to make the time spent worthwhile.

A. In answer to the concern over unknowledgeable commanders, I do not think we should start segregating who is a new commander vs. who is an experienced commander, you would be making it hard for newer commanders (who may be good or bad) to get the experience needed commanding.

However, the point that a commander is unknowledgeable is a good point. There is currently no real guide or training for commanders other then word of mouth. I suggest as a solution this:

Upon acquiring the book which you have spent 100g to become a commander, you can not create a squad until you have completed an instance that shows you how to do certain things within the commander tag. That way as you add more functionality new commanders are brought up to date. Once the instance is done a follow-up mail would be sent congratulating you(perhaps even giving some small reward?), and giving you a brief command overview once more.

Secondly, in regards to tags. Many are asking for colors to identify a specific commander to their group.

B. I would suggest a setting that allows you select one or all of the following: turn invisible to all but squad/Guild/other commanders.

C. I would also suggest a guild/or individual has an option to purchase an upgrade on their commander tags (either thru guild discovery or perhaps a gold/gem option) that actually represents their guild emblem. This would allow other commanders to know who and what guild is on a map.

Tier 2 Unlocks 1 guaranteed Devon post per day.

When I first started playing and I was not aware of the wily thieves I got my kitten kicked often (yeah I used kitten its such a cute word!). Now I am alot more careful and it doesn’t happen much unless I do something silly.

My friend plays a thief I bring her along and play bait so we can surprise them now! Of course that goes awry when theres more then one hiding. My point here is, it happens, make the best of it.

Use it as an opportunity to improve yourself. You know the tactics, be wary Knowledge is power!

I can understand the Zerg frustration as I am on one of the lower tier servers. However, with that said I don’t think that skill/no skill translates equally to work hard/laziness.

Sure in a zerg there are those that stand around and do nothing, skilled and unskilled actually. Then there are those who are new and are working very very hard to learn and be helpful.

I speak from experience on this.

While I respect those that have played a long time now and are experienced and have put in countless hours. I know that in any game, New blood is a vital component to its health and stability.

I dont know how you could possibly weed out those that work hard from those aren’t reward wise. Not in any fair manner.

Only a WvW player starts naming all the Dolyak and coming up with their life’s story because shes been escorting them back and forth for the good of the server.

Only a WvW player suicides herself on a seige weapon because they placed it where it can’t be hit to save the keeps walls…

Yes, but not because you like the new colors.

The colors not appealing to everyones personal taste and maybe being annoying is understandable.

Best solution is probably allow players to set the colors to suit, as they will never make everyone happy, it’s just not possible.

However I don’t really want them pulling away from things like implementing new maps, or more functional commander tags, for personal preference color changes.

I won’t knock other classes and say oh they are easy don’t need any skill…

Truth is every class has people with skill and people who are new and learning. Some are really good at what they do and others aren’t for whatever reason.

Truth is in WvW your best bet is to enjoy what you are doing alot, as the point is to have fun. If you like what you are doing (not doing something because it is popular) You will be all the better at what you do.

In WvW every class is useful to a team. Its more the player that is useful then the class on a team. The presence of a person that can help achieve a goal. Who wants to be there and loves what they are doing. Some classes do damage, some classes skim points off the top of things, some heal, some do all…

At the end of the day, being there, enjoying it and having fun is the best class.

I respect everyones personal taste in disliking the new colors. Personally I don’t care, to busy fighting my toosh off.

However, they are blinding you? You have to quit playing after 20 minutes due to looking at the map?

On a more serious note: I will agree that two color types, blue/green might be a bit easily confused for some players. Though the other blue/green was close as well.

Constructive Suggestion: Pick a color in a very different range, purple or something. Doesnt have to be purple but something totally different from the two you keep.

GUILD WARS 2….. There is zero guild wars that occurs other than player created.

I never played, but from the few hardcore players I know that played gw1 this game is so far astronomically worse when it comes to the actual player vs player mechanics.

It’s unreal how little clue the company has for (a guy said wvw is 1/3 the player base… It’s way more than that) a huge portion of their own game/what they wanted to create in GUILD WARS2….

I have played Guild Wars 1, and the PVP/Alliance battles in it, while fun, were very very limited. Nothing like WvW. There is always room for improvement with any game, however I play the game to have fun, loot is just a bonus to my fun.

I thank anyone who encourages my fun and loot! I generally try to live life in the positive and my hope and patience I realize are greater then most. The Dev’s on this game seem pretty responsive even if I do not always like the answers they give me.

I have played alot of other games, where Devs don’t talk to you at all. While I know its their job to do the things they do, there are always people in every job that go above and beyond.

Is not about my sleep schedule.

By default, every day, you lose ALL your keeps and towers in EB and your BD, BY DEFAULT every night. You lose all your effort during the day by double. And every night, the high asian/oceanic population server win a lot of PPT for FREE vs nothing. They siege a empty building with only npc resistance.

That is just frustrating. Wake up every day and see all your map lose and a lot of point difference because of 5+ hours of free PPT. I dont care lose a good battle, or battle a hard server, there is no battle at all you just lose that points, and if they are 2 servers like that in you current match up you have a secured third place despite what you do or how good you play in the NA/LA prime time.

I’m pretty sure people from other time zones feel the same when they wake up and look at their map totally lost during NA hours.

You can do one of three things.

1) Never post a complaint telling anyone to fix it without a suggestion for improvement. What I’m saying is, don’t expect someone else to know the answer if you dont have one yourself.

2) Do like everyone else and recruit guilds.

3) Transfer

4) Anything else I’ve missed?

Lastly, you never mentioned what server you’re from. Unless you’re from a server at the bottom like Eredon Terrace, you really don’t have much to complaint about.

Hi, I am from Eredon Terrace, I am new to WvW (been playing about two months). Prior to this I played PVE only and finally decided to give WvW a try. When I started playing I had no clue of all the ranks, off hours and on hours etc., and just went out to have fun(imagine playing a game for fun!). Eventually, I realized we were on the bottom server. We WERE..

I certainly feel this pain, ET is always out-manned and during our off hours we have very low coverage, (this week is probably the best match up we have had). To combat this(as best as possible),we just started recruiting, coordinating, working harder… ect.. Due to all this we have become very tactically strong and I work with some amazing folks.

There is no answer to the off hour issue, its just there, but you have to remember that your here to have fun, level up some characters when things are rough,make friends to hang out with, look for a few good fights,(The one hour SM three way battle the other night was so awesome..) and at the end of the day it will pay off…

Oh and most importantly, keep your sense of humor when you run your poor little necro into a large enemy zerg at 1 a.m.
