I just finished testing your build (the first trait line, 0/30/10/20/10) in dungeons like arah and fractals, I must say, it’s been a lot of fun. I still think LH is the way to go if you have a group that is completely built around it, but I don’t run much with this type of group these days and dagger/focus is a lot more suitable to various situations and doesn’t need anyone in the group to carry it. The DPS felt surprisingly decent in a 3man run of arah (and I would never go full LH build on a 3man).
This definitively feels like the build you should run if you love the class and want to use it without being a dps autospammer carried by the rest of the group through their utilities. It has its moments but the game can get pretty stale when played that way.
At first I naturally traited myself to something close to your furyshare build but I feel it’s dramatically inferior to 0/30/10/20/10.

People who complain about TA UP are also people who complain about having to have a guardian/mes to reflect for them.
You won’t convince them so easy.
No, there are a ton of people who had guards in the group who still complain how hard it is, and range him despite having a guard with new exploity techique such as max ranging with rangers to not aggro anything.

Here’s a 4men with only one guard and zero mes. I’m pretty sure it could be done as five (why does the 5 turn into “kitten”..) men with no guard if the 5th was a class like ele/thief etc with some blind and reflect of their own.
Also, no actual burst dps to speak of beside the poor lone war. No lightning hammer, no fiery greatsword, not really trying much to maximize might etc.
The only way I’d see a group fail this boss in a 5 people party that coordinate a little is to have 5 necro/5war or a mix of both.
Hell, in the videos I linked both the ele and guard wasted the reflect because you should only start casting them when he does his first shake.
This boss doesn’t need a nerf. The only thing it needs is for the fight to restart after a fail. That’s a reasonable demand.
I never had a group made from friendlist that failed this though.

Here’s an example of doing this boss with less bursty dps in a 4 man party with no cheese involved (no fiery greatsword etc).
The group builds were chosen on purpose. The ele wasn’t running lightning hammer either (which is its max dps), instead we went with a more classic dagger/focus build. Just to show that any group with one guard, or any group with 5 people who can cycle some reflection (if you don’t have a guard you can still cycle reflect, ele and engi contributed to it.) even if you don’t have maximized speedclear type group dps, should be able to handle this boss with some coordination, without having to do the extremely long and tiring ranged kite thing.
Also I was running condition engineer.
The guardian btw was new to TA and didn’t really know what he was doing, and wasted a wall of reflection early and got killed by the lifesteal. He’s not to blame, we are for not telling him sooner :>. When I saw the early wall I panicked and messed up my own rotation (should not use blind grenade until the spider adds get close since it doesn’t bring much damage. You should use blinds though when you have adds getting close.).

Just reset your router……? It’s not hard.
I did. Multiple time. I take it my ISP might have switched to permanent ips, or semi permanent ips (there’s even one ISP in France that only gives permanent IPs. No option).
Don’t start thinking the world revolves around you? Some of us aren’t running around with ISP that will swap your IP every 24 hours or when you disconnect / reboot your router.
In my case I’ll pretty much have to deal with the fact that using proxy to be able to post on gw2lfg will be the one way.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
Sigh, still banned from gw2lfg (and no I can’t reset my ip.), I might have to use a proxy whenever I post on gw2lfg all because of a one off path selling.. I have no words for how much I hate a part of this community.
I’m not really a path seller/runner and this isn’t really something I intend to do daily. My buddy had some trouble soloing lupi, I came to watch then at some point we decided to duo it so that he could get some experience in a more comfortable way. In the end we decided to complete and sell the path because there’s no point in not making money out of it, we already ran the path, not doing it is like saying no to a money printer.
As for the price we did go for 5g then 4g but it was the worst time in the day for any sort of dungeon activity so we just wanted to get people in asap.
I just did a duo of path 2 and we felt like selling the remaining 3 spots then my buddy got banned from gw2lfg from too many reports. It was a legit run too. I guess the rage and *hurt must be strong these days.

Why does the minority feel the need to be so vocal and invasive ? there has been many initiatives to try to get people like you to group together for these legendary no skip runs, most of these initiatives died out because nobody gave a kitten. You are a minority among the minorities, get it. The world doesn’t have to cater to your needs.
I do get it, once again, you are not a person worth arguing with. You used to talk on the grawl thread things like “you can’t do grawl with ele it’s terrible blabla” and a video was linked with a group that had 5 ele, and I also linked one randomly found on youtube with 4 showing a group that had ZERO ability to dodge the arrow (which is really cringeworthy) and despite them taking the arrow all the time at 73 they still managed to get through the fractal. Your sole existence on these forums is to whine that elementalist is the worst class ever and how great you feel for playing mesmer. Good for you, but please take that toxicity out of here.
If players who can’t dodge the grawl arrows can still manage to get the run done, what does that say about you if you keep complaining about your poor ele? are you worse than people who never dodge the grawl arrow?
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
people who can t debate insults as Always….
You are an eternal ball of whine. I used to try to somewhat argument with you. There is no argument that will stop the whine. You want to whine and nothing will stop that. Some people are tired of listening to the whining, so I’d rather just shut you down by not arguing with you. At some point being ignored will get old and you will finally get it. Get it.
The only thing you exist for, and do, on these forums, is a constant stream of whining. It gets old. Pretty fast. You should write a letter to anet telling them how much you hate this game, the classes etc instead of polluting this place.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
I don’t intend to answer anything, I already said more than once that I’m not going to feed the resident whiner so that he can whine more. Go ahead and do your monologues, it is falling on deaf ears. Even worse when the whine is about snowblind out of all things. You could have picked a better fractal to whine about. Your own experience is questionable if that particular fractal is a problem for you no matter what group composition you run, the real problem is when people start aggroing everything there.
Although guardians aren’t required, to say that they don’t bring anything to the table other classes can’t also is a bit much. Unless you know another class that can provide reflects, LoW/RoW, perma-prot, on-demand aegis, group cond cleansing, while still providing respectable dps…
Most of these can be split between the members of the group when there’s no guardian. Reflect/absorb can be done by in an efficient manner (as compared to say, the very useless reflect on warrior and ranger) by : thieves, elementalists, engineers, mesmers.
In a group with good dps you only need two reflect to get through most content in a faceroll manner.
Group cond cleanse is actually done better by engineers, they don’t need to waste their traits on cond removal to be able to have strong AoE cond cleanses, unlike guardians, who absolutely need to trait it to make it effective. Guardians can never really be fully dps built like an engi because their cond removal depends on traits lines that aren’t really related to DPS. Turret heal + Elixir gun are godly.
Line of Warding/Ring of Warding are easily replaced by static field, which you can use on both Lightning Hammer and on Staff on elementalist.
Perma protection is not all that useful. There aren’t a lot of speedrun groups that use hammer and you don’t really have perma prot without the hammer. It’s kind of useful in fractals but blind field from a thief or an engineer smoke bomb are a lot more effective at mitigating damage in trash fights, and boss fights are all about avoidance rather than mitigation. You can really feel the difference if you have a competent thief or engi, using their smoke field.
Yes, the usefulness of guardians is overstated. If you have a mixed group with classes like ele/engi etc, you don’t really need guardians. Guardians do bring a lot to a specific type of group that has zero utility : warrior groups. Warrior bring nothing of worth beside their offensive buff so they do benefit a lot from having a guard in the group.
I used to think of guardians as indispensable for a decent group composition, now I think they’re just a crutch for warriors.
Warrior is an incredibly pitiful/carried class in high lvl fractals.

I don’t see those activities much in NA servers and I have looked at LFG website for those like 4 or 5 times. Wrong timing for me or is it a normal thing for EU servers?
The EU player base is.. special. American players who keep complaining about pugs should transfer to EU for a week and see what a terrible pug community actually looks like. Unless it dramatically changed since I transferred to US servers, the average EU pug couldn’t even handle something like AC so the fact that there is a massive spam of arah path selling and a market that can support that many sellers doesn’t surprise me. And that was the AC pre-revamp. I don’t even want to imagine what AC pugs are like post revamp.
And on US servers you don’t get kicked for meleeing lupi.
I pug a lot, it never happens to me. The only times I ever got kicked from a party, were :
1/ During the very early days of fractal, and I wasn’t kicked during the run but at start when joining parties because people hated thieves and my only char at the time was a thief
2/ The only time I’ve been kicked mid run I was kinda asking for it because I complained against one of the party members who was dying all the time doing things like aggroing all the ice elementals and I didn’t know he had a friend in the party.
You know, when I hear about these stories I always think there must be more to it. Like a very, very solid reason for kicking you out.
Quite sincerely, with all the new skins introduced ever since FOTM came out, I don’t really see the appeal of most of them these days except for the whole “I ran fractals until I got it!” thing. I went from “I’d like to see a better way to get them than pure rng” to “I wouldn’t even want them for free”. I actually replaced the fractal skins I had with some of the new skins. As in, destroying the item forever, not just buying another with the same stats.
The build relies a lot on the ability to generate blast finishers every 30s in order to give might and fury. This means that every 30 you will have to switch out of water, so this attunement that is required to deal your damage will be locked for some time.
You’re viewing these builds from the point of view of random parties only. In an LH ele based group you don’t have to provide any sort of fire field beside the first one, after which you immediately swap to water and LH. The guardian(s) provide the fire fields.
Same thing for your comments about the need for CC or reflection. At no point do you have to swap attu to get another fire field again.
Yes, LH ele is pretty much a leech build in that it solely relies on the rest of the group to use their utilities. The dps is well worth it for a lot of content though. Most of the named dungeons, in fact. Whether it’s any good for fractals I can’t really say and would need to test it more there with the typical 2x guardian formations. One of the things that make it work might break on a fractal I haven’t done yet on LH ele, dredge, since.. uh.. you can’t blind the dredge, and they know how to bring a world of hurt.
Pure LH ele builds though are worthless in random parties/pug/group without competent guardians. If you can’t rely on the rest of the group to use their reflection, provide things like aegis, initial blind (before your lh chain starts moving), cc and so on the LH builds are definitively not worth using. That doesn’t mean you can’t use LH but a pure build centered around its use is more pain than gain in a group that is not tailored for it.

This is a good dps increase for any decent group.
Conditions are not a dps increase. They would be if they did more damage than direct damage and there was a need to fill the conditions until you reach the maximum stacks but they don’t. The only condition that is a dps increase is vulnerability, having 25 stacks of that is an actual dps increase.
No need to over react on the numbers since guang already stated that it’s only if you can maintain 3 phantasms, which is not possible in many situations.
Also, mesmers are the worst class in terms of dps for fighting trash mobs for the simple fact that even if you could maintain your phantasms without them dying (which is never gonna happen anyway), they do disappear once your target dies, and in a zerk group there is NEVER enough time for a mesmer to load up on phantasms. Take more than one mesmer for things like the dredge fractal and have fun spending an hour on the trash mobs trying to summon phantasm after phantasm and seeing them die, then having to rely on your incredibly pitiful sword dps. I’ve never felt better for having a mesmer when there are waves after waves of stuff to kill. Also the best phantasm for AoE damage is also the one with the dumbest AI.. as in, I’m not even sure it has an “AI” to speak of. kitten warden.

Discarding my trait setup of 0/10/0/30/30
“Disregarding one of the most important things”.. dude you’d probably do more damage on half pvt (armor) half zerk (full accessories and weapon) with the right damaging trait set up and a Lightning Hammer than being in full zerk but using the wrong stuff (scepter or dagger autoattacks).
I guess I should’ve paid more attention sometimes as to what people are doing during this fight because I’ve seen her summon poison in supposedly melee groups. I’ll start paying more attention and get the votekick ready.
I’m pretty sure it’s working as intended. For example, the spider boss does in ac doesn’t use her poison aoe if everyone is in melee range. It’s not an exploit to utilize that fact and if they didn’t want people utilizing it then why put it in the game?
She doesn’t use poison on people that don’t move. If you’re in melee but still moving even a bit you’ll make her use it.
The spider queen example is not an exploit, though, but alpha’s clearly is. They just didn’t predict people to stick inside alpha’s character model and that disabling “melee attack assist” would become so popular. If you play with the default settings the game won’t allow you to stack into alpha without taking damage. His attack is a frontal cone and the developers, lacking imagination, never envisioned that the players would abuse a quality of life feature, an option in the game settings, to completely render the attack useless by not being in range. If you think you were supposed to be inside anything you’re wrong. The very idea that it was intended for you to stay “inside” the spot where the boss’s body is and not take an attack that was absolutely meant to hit people in melee range who don’t dodge is wishful thinking. It doesn’t even make any sense for us to be able to stay “inside” a boss body to begin with.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
You wouldn’t WANNA stack the Destroyer if he used Firy blast more often….
Actually you’d still very much stack dps in there. This attack can be either dodged or blocked by aegis, and the only reason people get hit is because it’s incredibly rare and unexpected. This boss can be constantly interrupted by the way. Groups with 1 mes / 4 war use mesmer interrupts instead of guard aegis to prevent the tooth attack for example. Making him use the Firy blast more often would only make us take one more interrupt or make the guardian use his elite to refresh aegis for a third one.
The problem with this fight is that he doesn’t have enough HP to make his mechanic matter in any way, shape or form. As long as you have abilities like interrupts and aegis out of cooldown for the fight there is literally nothing that should stop you from non-stop constant dps without even having to care or dodge.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
Some people here are confused about mechanics. There are two things that can be meant by stacking, one is just the whole group being in melee very close together, the other in the case of alpha really means stacking inside of him, which is kind of an exploit to avoid his frontal cone attack. That wasn’t really intended by the developers, and is likely something they overlooked because they provide options like disabling melee attack assist but didn’t test what happens when you use these options to your advantage.
This isn’t intended and it’s unrelated to the simple act of being a melee group. Just the result of the incredible lack of testing in this game.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
Every party that runs CoE or AC alwyas stacks on bosses.
For some reason, stacking removes or nullifies some skills that certain bosses have.
Subjetc Alpha, a true exemple of hard boss, became a walk in a park when we realized that pushing him against a wall and stacking on him makes his attacks negligible.
That only adds to the “zerker” wave on gearm after all, you barely take any dmg that way and can simply dish out as much dmg as possible.
This needs to be adressed.
Actually you’re wrong on all accounts, except for the fact that yes, stacking does nullify some attacks, but your point that it’s letting people run zerk and that they otherwise would not run zerk if stacking wasn’t possible is ridiculous. People were already full meleeing him in zerk before the trend to disable melee assist and stacking inside him became a thing and they either took some of the damage or dodged it (the earth spike attack). He doesn’t live nearly long enough for the spike attack to cause wipes.
Calling him an example of a “hard boss” is a stretch. He has a very predictable attack pattern. Also in path 2 he doesn’t have the spike attack and his other two attacks are not nullified by it, so technically stacking inside doesn’t serve any purpose in that path.
Basically if they removed stacking it’d just make the fight a tad bit slower. Alpha is technically already trivialized by intended game mechanics like the undead tendril that lets you rally when you get downed. You can’t use them while stacking btw most of the time (cause of LoS or downing inside of him will prevent you from hitting tendrils) so you might not have had the opportunity to see that you can in fact come back instantly to the fight after a down on him. “Hard” boss indeed.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
The whole “warrior or guardian or gtfo” attitude has to stop.
Most of the actual good players stopped preaching that long ago. PUGs still need another 4 months or so to catch up.
It’s almost impossible to convince pugs to run decent build, much less respect things like combo fields. Warriors groups will always be the best ones to get in pugs to be honest for the simple reason that even the most idiotic pug can activate For Great Justice and the most idiotic mesmer can use Signet of Inspiration. While I’ve been in decent, not overly great, but decent groups that just couldn’t bring even 1% of the greatness of a LH ele because of the whole combo field mess and nobody paying enough attention to field order.
But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do non-warrior pugs (in fact I hardly play my warrior at all these days.). Just arguing that when it comes to pug, you can’t really beat the smoothness of a war group.
It’s boring and stale though, and I have no interest in doing these anymore.

The thread about the volcanic shaman issues is from 11 hours ago, TAkitten5 days ago, and they are both on TOP of the main page, meaning that you were too lazy to even barely look at ANY of the thread titles on the main page before doing what all the egotistic players do, come on this forum to vent their frustration then leave once they’re done venting about the one issue they felt like bringing up. Like legion of others it’s not about refreshing the page every 5 seconds, instead, you’re just filled with laziness and thought that you were some sort of shiny diamond that deserved his own thread on the main page without a care in the world as to whether there were any on going discussion or not about the same topics.
If you can’t spare 30 seconds to read the main page titles I don’t see why any of us should hold any sort of conversation with you except for telling you to go away. You even implied that giving some sort of thought before kittenting your own thread onto this forum is being a no life.
To be fair the videos on youtube didn’t state the fact that you can’t do anything right in this game without using decent builds.
Your pugs can’t imitate these videos by running rabid gear on a sword warrior.

The current state of the player base in a nutshell (during a portal event).
better solution:
Don’t tie the event to Arah…. Then we know that there won’t be any legitimate progressionists that are completing the event. Easy to tell the griefers from the players that way.
As I said…griefing is griefing. Doesn’t matter which side you’re on.
Completing an event that is intended to be completed is never going to be taken as griefing. Insulting players, however, that are trying to complete the event could get you in trouble.
Griefers like you make the community a very hostile place. I can only hope Anet will see these responses and properly ban those who are harassing farmers for no other reason then trying to make people mad.
I really hope you’re just trolling here, because if you’re serious….you need a reality check.
If you think ANet is going to ban people for completing an event that others are intentionally failing for farming purposes….you’re kidding yourself in a very baffling way.
The fact that they think that people who complete an event and prevent something from being abused could be banned speaks a lot about their sense of entitlement. They are literally entitled to a constant, non stop, flowing source of gold falling from the sky into their hands while not having to spend any sort of effort playing the game whatsoever, just pressing 1111111 on staff guardian until loot appears.
This is a very clear cut case of exploiting a broken mechanic, something that anet is obviously going to fix and you think they are going to ban players who are taking your shiny little spot of abuse away from you considering that everytime this event gets completed on the popular servers you slow down the inane rate of inflation for 2 hours?
Sorry guys, have some reality check. Anet never, and will never intend, for an almost afk autoattack spot to let you get more gold than almost every single other in game activity ever. This is an abused event, and in no way an intended design by anet. You’re not being griefed when we take away that little spot from your hands, you’re being made to actually work if you want the dough. Taking away your spot of abuse is in no way remotely comparable to griefing.

I don’t think you can see how skips are from the eyes of the usual pugs. If p3 had the “hardest skip” then why is p3 pretty much the only path they run ? p1 boss fights are a lot less tedious in low dps groups than the Crusher+Hunter combination. You can’t really trust the pug to cycle enough reflection to prevent the immobilize from Hunter, and in a low dps group you don’t really want to stand in melee inside the poison field either. And sometimes you’ll get a really, really bad pug that will pull them and make the crusher revive the fabulous group of mob at the gate, because that’s exactly what all pug groups need. This fight is a lot harsher in pugs than any of the Path 1 boss.
For path 2 and 3 you can solo every boss legit and don’t need to carry via portals. Also the skips are “easier”.
Well, that’s the point I made. Path 2 doesn’t require much, or a particular class, or the new portal device (no I’m not going to use charged lodestone on that crap) to get pretty much any group going through. And usually most pugs make it to most boss fights. Just the one or two people to carry rather than a whole group.
You obviously can with portals.
I hadn’t even thought of using portals.. but that’s because I hate playing mesmer with great passion.
The lack of waypoint is why pugs don’t do this path more than anything else.
I pug path 2 almost every day again since the patch just like I used to, and it has the very convenience of letting you get waypoints in very convenient spots for the rest of the group when they don’t know/can’t skip or whatever. Usually in pugs there’s often that one guy who absolutely can’t get to the abomination.. well no big deal you three/fourman it or whatever and get the wp.
In path 1 you can’t really carry someone through almost everything the way you do in path 2.
Fix? Did I hear the word fix? They can’t even fix one of the most terrible thing that has ever happened for the in game economy in a timely manner, the g******* cursed shore ember farm, so when it comes to fixing exploits/bugs in dungeons..
If you are skilled, I will take you regardless. I will never take bad dps build players over good players with sub-par builds.
Except that there is no such a thing as being skilled with bad builds and bad gear. Don’t take me wrong, I’m not saying “all zerkers are good”, as could be seen in the day of CoF farming there are ton of terrible zerkers who have a broken dodge key. What I’m saying is that not wearing zerker is an automatic mark of being bad. You can’t be a good player and willfully ignore decent build, ignore the game mechanics and decide that bad builds are good enough for you.
Using bad builds automatically puts you in the bad category, sorry. You’re basically leeching on whoever can output some sort of dps in the group.
The vast majority may only exploit things a few time as they figure it out, or accidentally exploit because they don’t know any better. Our goal is not to punish those people. But in the case of the snowflake fiasco, we had clear evidence of people exploiting it well over 15,000 (fifteen thousand) times before we managed to seal it up. Those are the people we go after – the ones who deliberately exploit with massive potential economic impact.
You better think about what you’re doing if you’ve been getting thousands of gold from exploiting the unintended consequence of failing the ember event. Anet never intended for an event to give you more than basically anything else in the game for repeatedly failing it. Anet is pretty clear on what defines what is an exploit and what is not and it’s based on intent. Intent is obviously not on all the farmer who keep on whining when these event get, gasp, completed. Report people for “griefing” when they do something that was intended, instead of exploiting the unintended, and look at what may happen to you if you were greedy enough to spam this every single day for 5+ hours. Because you can report as much as you want, people who complete the event, whether they just did it to get a rise out of you, or by curiosity for the event, are in the right, and you are the ones who are under the shadow of the banhammer just like it has been for previous massive exploitation of broken systems that have massively affected the economy.
(edited by Nikaido.3457)
This thing is ruining the game economy and inflation is eating at the TP. I applaud all the groups that are working hard at actually completing the event and shutting that dumb thing down. You couldn’t possibly afford anything by playing the game normally if you let these armies of zombies who ask for nothing but a spot where they can mindlessly spend their time pressing 11111 inject new gold into the system by such amounts.
That feel when threatened to be kicked from guild for completing it
Their tears would taste delicious I bet.

The great thing about this though is that you can actively disrupt it and then the Studio Exec Producer will congratulate you for it while 100’s of QQ’ing baddies attempt to report you for Trolling/Botting & a bunch of other falsehoods.
This is beautiful.
Infiltrator strike/shadow return combo on sword main hand can get you out, but it means using a subpar weapon for single target damage.
You almost certainly have to use sword main hand for your sanity and survivability if you are fighting lupi in melee in a group that ranges him (like the typical pug). Keeping a rotation of infiltrator strike / shadow return also gives you a nice way of getting out of the AoE lifesteal.
Notice you said that without mentioning your group composition.
I just did that in a completely non meta group with one pug. Engineer, Guardian, Elementalist, Warrior and the one pug was an ele that was using the classic arcana/water traits so not much dps. We killed the end boss fine.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Fix-the-Twilight-Arbor-Forward-Up-PathIn order to defeat the last boss of TA F/U, the best way to solo carry a horrible pug is to use a guardian and use this OP build, you will literally be able to roll your face on the keyboard and the boss will die along with all spiders.
It is sad that we have to use a broken ridiculously overbuffed set up to deal with this equally broken encounter but until anet fixes it it is the only way for us get the rewards we deserve.
You are doing god’s work, son.
@ Cookie
You’re right, we should play worse party compositions because that’s all the game is about.I wouldn’t call running around with two guardians effective. But i guess that comes down to personal experience.
I would be willing to change my mind, but finding arguments against guardians is going to be pretty hard considering how good their dps can be with a dps build and how much smoother they make high level fractal runs. If it had to be one or the other (dps OR easier run) there’s be room for argument. But this isn’t the game where the support class has to do much worse dps than the average. Unless you go for records where you’re sensitive toward 5 sec differences you’re not actually going to noticeably slow down your runs by bringing two guard, ever while you’re making the runs a lot more consistent as in less prone to human error or insta wipe because of momentarily lag.

At this point I just ignore Byron whining. He actually, sincerely believes that mesmers are more useful than elementalists in fractals. My experience is that I’d take any class, any, including necromancer, over mesmer, when it comes to frac. Mesmers are complete deadweight for most of the fractals (all the trash fighting which is what takes 90% of the time in fractals like dredge).

In the old days of the almighty AH anchor groups he was one of the first I saw saying that AH builds or anchor in general were mostly useless if your group knew the encounters, I remember the initial reaction was something like:
“You need an anchor everywhere” then some months later “You need an anchor for high level content” and finally “Anchor isn’t needed”.Then there was the ranger and engineer viability versus warrior stacking and I’m sure there is more as I was never that active in the other forum.
TL;DR Guang is pretty cool guy.

Pretty much the thread where it all started and some good archaeology to show the paradigm shift that follows from laughing to somewhat adopting his thought process.
But I guess no one really gives a kitten about how crappy someone’s personality is on this game eh
You should know better than to use that type of argument in a thread I started.
lol’d at everyone besides you dying at the end. Think I need to save that link whenever I tell people about “killing a boss before it kills you” when discussing zerker gear.
Plus the fact that what killed them was agony, which is not something you could tank with PVT.
gg obal.
I don’t think the list was meant to be read as in “take one of each from top to fifth” but whatever. And I’m not really speaking in the name of LOD so don’t take my words for the final guild word. There are also two different standards in what we recommend for the casual or teaching runs within the guild and what we’re willing to experiment with, with other teams.
That list doesn’t sound all that ridiculous when you don’t put words in his mouth and read the sentence that precedes the list. It’s not a “Best DPS to lowest dps” list. It balances out overall usefulness and what you can bring to a party between potential group buff (might, vuln stack), overall dps, utility etc. Pugging on engi with pugs that aren’t really well built can be illuminating. I don’t think I ever had as much of a blast joining random meh pug compositions with a class before trying engineer. It’s a very well balanced class and it shows.
@ Dub
gg, let me guess, you used lightning flash.
