almost anything the ele does the war can easy mode with one hand on its back. THATS a big kittening balance gap between the classes….
You can get 100% duration in WvW with a mix of +10% runes, Giver’s weapons, food, and traits. I think necro has enough conditions, damaging and otherwise, that you’d be justified in going for duration over damage. This is especially true since necro relies on control conditions like cripple/chill for defense to a certain extent.
If that is the case, give me 1500 hp, 150 toughness, 150 power, healing power, condition damage and around 7% crit chance (precision). It’s not as little as you think.

Let’s not forget that the reason they took out the orb buff is because they were unable to deal with the blatant hacking, not because they thought it was unbalanced or made the mode less competitive.
WvW is nowhere near competitive to begin with. It’s the accessible and easy PvPvE mode for people who take PvP more casually.
Most of the people you’re killing are probably not 80, not in Ascended, and running a PvE build to begin with. It’s not like more stats is tipping the scales.
I don’t think they have any qualms about letting a class float to the bottom of the meta for a while until they figure out a long-term plan. They’ve done it with other classes before, and there’s always the argument that thief will still have D/P.
Additional questions to be answered in case a Dev puts some input here:
Is there a min level requirement of the exotic salvaged to obtain this new T7 mat
or does it apply to all exotics? Do higher level exotics have higher chances or better
salvaging rates?
Problem is as others pointed out is at the most basic level your system is just to old. Asking what to upgrade in a socket AM2 system is like asking to upgrade an Intel socket 775.
AM2 means it uses DDR2 memory (I seem to remember a few AM2+ MBs that had DDR2 and DDR3 memory slots but since you didn’t go into detail I’ll assume the most common denominator.
- So socket AM3 or AM3+ motherboards are not compatible to Socket AM2 CPUs.
- DDR2 memory is not compatible to socket AM3 or AM3+ motherboards.
So if you are going to do an upgrade you will need to change out the entire core of the system. That brings up other potential problems as well such as PATA based drives, which are no longer supported on most motherboards. Then there’s the shift in power supply requirements where 12 volt amperage is the most important.
Due to the age something as simple as a memory upgrade will cost more (50-60%) relative to current memory prices due to the reduced production now. The only quad cores available for that socket was the 1st generation Phenoms and they weren’t fast.
I guess you could get a more modern video card since that’s independent of the core 3 components and thus reusable in a future system. But power supply requirements could come into play.
Basically we your options are very limited if you want to go piecemeal and we would need a bit more information to help with our recommendations.
You could get something like an AMD FX-4350 CPU, 2×4GB sticks of ram, and a Radeon HD 7750 (or a 7770 GHz if your PSU has PCI-e power connectors) for ~$280. That’s a considerable upgrade from what you have now and a safe bet as far as being able to use the components you already have.
Nobody can help you if you don’t post how much you’re willing to spend. If you’re looking for something on the cheaper end you’re going to be spending at least $200 to upgrade your processor.
1380×1024 is also a weird resolution. Are you using a laptop?
It was me and I was definitely hacking. The OP and his guildies are reasonably good (they said so themselves) so they would have been able to kill me if I wasn’t hacking.
It’s really pretty clear-cut when you think about it.
Some guild members were saying there were rumors of people getting knocked by Anet’s auto-ban program for doing one of the jumping puzzles, but I can’t remember which one. It had a teleporter or something, which was the root of the problem.

I also noticed that the seige operators of Magumma tend to be unerring accurate in range and position. Either you got superb skills or have running some program.

I threw together a video for a PvE build using double Axe mainhand and the new Discipline trait, Burst Mastery. The build focuses on doing high DPS through spamming your F1 while giving decent access to party-wide support through shouts, warhorn, and a banner.

the guardians being immortal , I decided to target only the other ones , starting by the engi , we fought him 2v1 he died and I had like 8k hp left , But his 20 sec ++ poison downed me near the flag and then came the warr to finish me off…
How can a class have a 20 sec poison ? this is unfair , its like he has enough time to be killed and come back finish you off while you’re downed…
also how can Guardians be immortals while doing tons of dmg ? I remember we were 3 guys hitting those guardians , they seemed to be full hp the entire fight while we were dying so fast
I just don’t understand all of this…I bought gw2 cuz I thought PvP would be fun , competitive and balanced , but its none of the above ! its not fun anymore seeing only 4 classes / 8 being played , its not fun fight OP classes (usually when one goes for defence , he sacrifices his offensive power but its not happening in this game with those guardians…) not to mention D/D Ele who can kill pretty fast too while having tons of heals/immunity spells
Does the ‘Flame and Frost’ event end at some point? Having it be there permanently would be rather annoying since I haven’t done any of the content on any of my characters.
