Condis not scaling on the underground facility bosses is a bug which was supposed to be fixed on HoT release, but it never really went through. That has to be changed, yes. Also allowing conditions on other structures like the Thermal Core would be really nice.

I think Ill try a fps to change a little. I was messing with da inquistion and I coudnt stand the controls. Where is the dodge button???

Can agree with Taku that Warframe is pretty fun, but it can turn into a huge grind if you make it one. Weapon/frame modding is extremely fun though and you can end up with some really, really ridiculous gear.

Berserker/Assassins is still completely fine, everyone who’s telling you otherwise just… well, sucks.
That being said, yes, condi is really on the rise; however not every class has effective condi builds or they’re not effective in every situation.
Fractal mobs hit weaker than before, even on scale 100 and the toughness on 51+ now got nerfed too, so that should really not be much of an issue. The instability on 41-50 is usually done once and then never touched again because it’s such a bad one, and even then you’re better off just powering through.

GS and D/F is what I pretty much always run (PvE). Keeping some other weapons like Warhorn handy if there’s ever the need for them is recommended though.

How is lag not your fault? Considering it’s usually caused by a bad connection.

Or not living in EU/US. Yeah, that’s definitely players’ fault. If they were serious about this game, they would have relocated right away.[/sarcasm]

I dunno, I know a bunch of players in asia and australia who never complained about connection issues and played just fine.

I mean I agree that ANet should get servers for those regions and support them better, but often there’s a way to at least reduce lag.

Are you seriously asking me to justify the value of stunbreakers?

No, I’m just asking where in PvE, besides when trying to get past mobs, having a stunbreak like FitG is such a better choice than taking other traits/another line. Can’t exactly see the major advantage that would make me take it in PvE combat situations most of the time because most stuns are telegraphed well or you can just use RS#3 in advance.

Dungeons are dead, mate. You can post as many forum posts as you want, they won’t turn back on dungeons ever again as long there aren’t gamebreaking bugs that need to disappear and are simultaneously linked between open world and dungeon content.

I really hope you’re wrong. They gonna have to do something. I looked again at lfg last night and not 1 not a single group for any of the dungeons. This is really depressing as i need tokens from several dungeons and haven’t finished my dungeon exploration as yet. Perhaps as some suggested in the past, gw1 style mercenary system should be implemented for dungeons, or the solo mode as i suggested.

They wanted to disincentivize dungeons, they did it. Anet succeeded in what they wanted to do, why would they turn back?

They daily ones have indeed increased rewards; got 5 chests (3 armor, 2 weapon) from 22 daily chests each; someone else in my guild got 10 chests total from 44 daily chests each.

The reward increase is pretty good overall.

No, but we have confirmation that the Patch will be next tuesday and that the fractal team was recently expanded with the intent of addressing the instabilities and adding new fractals. I would consider that post by Colin very welcome by the Fractal Community.

I would welcome dungeon polishing. AKA exploit fixes and different rewards on dungeons based on MEDIAN COMPLETION TIME for the PAST 30 DAYS (continuously updating). That would include greater gold, tokens (though a baseline minimum of tokens of some value), %MF for final gear rewards and ascended chests….

Fractals and raids aren’t the only group content. :< If

That would actually be very bad. Variable times for finishing the different fractals means people can’t commit if they don’t know how much time they have to spend. Regardless if anyone likes it or not, making the fractals we play predictable was a much needed change.

I’ll be honest, I think both the single island and the fixed fractal changes suck, so does the fact there’s no high level recommended daily and no daily for 76-100. Even with pugs, you could take pretty safe guesses on how long you’re going to spend inside fractals, besides very extreme cases.
It would’ve been much better if they simply reworked the system so that you start off with a short fractal, then get a medium length fractal followed by a long one and finally the boss, which could actually be fixed instead of random.

Someone said they wanted new fractal maps, i just wanted to chime in to say that i don’t think they can really add new fractal maps anymore because of the static schedule. One of the things they talked about with that schedule is how helpful it would be for speedrunners and record keeping but adding any new maps would completely disrupt that entire system. And i honestly think they did that on purpose as an excuse to not have to make any new fractal maps.

It is a matter of redoing the schedule is about all. I don’t see why they couldn’t fit another 1-2 fractals in the rotation. If this is a reason given for not adding fractals then it is an excuse plan and simple. However I’m not convinced they won’t add some. They have said in interviews they would like to add more, especially some former events like Marrionet if they could figure out how to scale it for a group of 5 (that was my all time favorite GW2 event btw).

They could also just give us random fractals back, which would be really great.

Anyone who can’t get past Vale Guardian in full exotic gear is just bad and should shut the kitten up.
Sabetha is a bit harder, yet, still doable in exotics.
Gorseval is the only boss requiring ascended, since its a pretty big DPS check.
1 boss out of 3 requiring ascended gear DOES NOT MEAN YOU NEED ASCENDED FOR THE RAID. Okay. You got 2 other encounters. Chances are, you’ll get
ascended pieces off boss 1 and 3 anyway.
Raids aren’t entirely a gear check(just said 66% of the raid isn’t one), it’s just that people try to justify their lack of skill as a gear check.

Gors doesn’t require ascended either. lol

I don’t think that’s it their fault, that you do only swamp and molten boss fractals. You have a choice now, you just choose todo these. When I’m doing my daily fractals I tend to choose different fractals on all tiers unless I want todo them real quick.

It’s their fault that the other scales aren’t rewarding enough to run them.

Again, ascended gear is just recommended, not required. Get trinkets which almost cost nothing and maybe weapons and you’ll be fine. Then get your ascended armor from raids themselves.
Ascended crafting prices are kittened up not due to needing low level mats, but due to the fact ANet decided to take every material in the game and make it necessary in ridiculous amounts for new items, guild expansion etc. – while not giving us any new ways to get those mats, of course.

Anyone can participate in raids, idk what some people are talking about here.
Get your guild, go in there for a hour a day and practice and at some point you’ll have it cleared. Will it take time? Yes. Are you excluded from the content by default? No, so stop saying you are, it’s not true.

What’s gear for to do with it? Or is it because raiders don’t just want raids to be about skill, but also something with a high bar entry point to deny most at the chance to raid?

Well for once it would have to be balanced around base stats, which means you couldn’t do any condi/direct damage mechanics, you couldn’t use any other stats for mechanics (like the one with the highest toughness getting aggro) etc.

Also you can do raids in full exotics, so I don’t see how the entry bar is too high. Besides, getting asc. trinkets is really easy as has been said…

It work with only one, there is no magical number where this is bad or good. That said, if you only have one, you should have like 1-2 other condition build like Engie or Warrior to keep burn and bleed at 25 to maximize the Epidemic.

Let me put it another way then: It works most efficently with 2+ reapers as the first epidemic can be used to throw conditions onto the trash and every subsequent epidemic can be used to throw them back to the boss.

@OP: Herald is probably the best class for VG and Sabetha, for Gorseval the best class is condi warrior.

Raids aren’t designed for people who’re satisfied with the normal standards. Raids are for those who want to face the challenges. And those are the people who actually work to improve themselves, and their gears.

Agreed, raids need to be a challenge. I just don’t see why getting gear for raids should also be a challenge.

Actually, getting gear for raid is not a challenge. Yes, if you look at it, making ascended is really complicated, but once you start working toward it bit by bit, it’s simple.

There are 2 things that make crafting ascended stuff seems complicated.

  • The crafting system in this game looks confusing. Instead of getting the mats and craft the armor straight up, you have to get the mats, craft it into other mats, which is used to craft another component for the armor. So while it looks confusing, it’s actually not if you just see what material are needed and write them down somewhere.
  • The people who look at it and thought it’s complicated then go and tell others how complicated it is. After that, the idea just spread like wild fire.

Who has ever said the confusing crafting system is the problem? The ridiculous amount of mats needed is.

I wouldn’t even say the amount of mats is the problem. The actual problem is that ANet decided to use those mats for basically everything in HoT, creating huge demand while taking so many gold sources out of the game. Now we’re looking at prices so much higher than before while overall earning less gold.

My tip: Get asc trinkets, craft asc weapons, exo armor, do raids and hope for drops/buy with shards. If you have trinkets and weapons you’re set, armor is a rather small increase in damage and the timers are lax enough if your squad doesn’t play “roll my face on keyboard”-style.

Frankly I think some type of timer is needed.

The existing timers could be slightly lengthened however.

Or perhaps they could make the first enrage after the timer runs out a soft enrage with another more powerful one coming after.

The timers are forgiving enough and there are no hard enrages as in party wipe once the timer runs out. The true hard “enrages” (i.e. instant wipes) are hidden behind mechanics.

But honestly, how do you expect arenanet to develope challenging content for players who have not even tried to prepare for said content in 3 years?

What about the months of pre-HoT news and previews did not sufficiently prepare you to get ready, especially on a 3 year old account?

Ideally though, yes more events like the Queens gauntletwould be nice. Pure solo challenging content which was fun.

Not everyone has been playing the game since launch.

There are lots of new players that are locked out of raids because they don´t have fully ascended gear.

They are not locked out because, according to the devs, VG is tuned to full exotic gear and you can do Gors and Sabetha in pure exo too; trinkets aren’t difficult to get, so that can be expected before you go raids. Crafting weapons isn’t that bad either.
If there’s people who require full asc in their pugs, don’t join, create you own or even better, go find a godkitten guild and raid properly.

Necro can have his spot about raids. Thief apparently is decent as venomshare or staff DD but I haven’t seen either in action so I can’t really confirm that. Also you’re probably talking about pugs and you don’t want to raid with them in the first place.

Good players are more likely to have ascended armor. The correlation goes the other way around. I have found this correlation to be very noticeable.

Also someone with ascended armor is more likely to have good sigils, food.

Buying gems on the gemstore does not make someone a good player. And frankly there’s not really any other way to earn the gold needed to get Ascended Armor.

I’m pretty sure running around and chopping trees/mining nodes/converting karma isn’t buying from gemstore, as is running fractals or just playing the game. Just because you don’t get much raw gold doesn’t mean you don’t get much gold hidden in materials.

I still agree that overall, ascended gear prices are too high currently though.

Let’s say they assumed we would only get 1 journal side per day (because they failed at calculations or whatever) since this is the only timegated thing I remember.
If they really said that it will be available when the first T3 backpacks are finished, the last plausible date for adding the other 2 gifts would be 19th January 2016.
If they calculated with an average of 2 sides per day, they need to finish it til 9th December…

I have to agree with this estimate.

Very likely arenanet did not expect people to cap fractal mastery by the evening of day 1. Who would have guessed players would mindlessly farm CoF1 for hours on end without loot rewards just to get ahead slightly faster?

With 1-2 weeks of only 1 page per day, people would still need a couple more days until they had reached the cap. If everything goes as planed, my guess is the backpiece will get added with the fractal patch.

Even without CoF farm, the first tier of fractal mastery isn’t exactly difficult to unlock. It would’ve never taken more than 2-3 days for those interested in fractals to get that one.

No, you’re supposed to be able to run the raids again for a reward while helping/joining people who didn’t get their kills that week. This is a good thing.

*Ascended gear arent that hard to get. I got my full ascended gear (minus amulet cuz no laurel) in just over a month as a f2p player by just doing normal gameplay. I dont flip AH, I dont use gem, I dont specifically farm gold, all I did was running around doin events.

Berserker with Scholar is still the best way to go. Sigils are usually Force + Air, though there are some other options that can possibly be taken into consideration, albeit usually not as good if you’re looking for more damage. Not sure how Hydromancy compares against Air on Nec, though I assume it loses out.
Valkyrie/Cavalier… are more dependant on party buffs and actually keeping up 25 stacks of vuln (which really isn’t an issue in organized groups, but well, pugs.) Also, keeping Berserker-gear gives you the advantage of swapping it around to other chars if necessary once you have ascended.

Every class can do good enough in raids.
Depends on what kind of roles you want to fulfill and what boss you’re looking at, as each boss has different kinds of builds/group comps that work better on them (in regard to raids)

Rev, War and Engi are rather safe bets though. Druids are wanted too because they have a whole lot of buffs only they can bring.

Just curious, but for those that have leveled to 100, what were some of the least fun Fractals you have played? For me it was 64, 74 and 91 .

Basically all Thaumanova-scales starting at 64 were the most boring ones.
