When a dog humps your leg, it is not trying to hump a human – it is trying to hump another dog in it’s pack because that’s how a family pet sees the human members. It is not trying to create a halfbreed or anything.

I’ve never seen any branded Asura or Norn either whats up with that?
They’re not native to the region.

Doesn’t have to be white, blues work aswell.
No, blues do not work – the end result will be Soulbound.
Do you even lift, bro?
Yup. As long as the the item you keep the base stats of is of white quality it ends up being Account Bound rather than Soulbound. That’s how some people, for example, are able to get the Thief starter hood on their Ranger.
Do you even lift, bro?
I wouldn’t exactly call the other two selfish either.
No, of course not… but Seiran, being young and full of life offers a much greater sacrifice.
Debatable.
Sylvari seems to have an easier time throwing their life away in my eyes. They’ll just say it is their Wyld Hunt and go banzai.

Just because they don’t exist as in-game mobs doesn’t mean they don’t exist lore-wise.
Do you even lift, bro?
Level up another character and join the Order of Whispers.
Buy the hood.
Transmute it onto a white quality light helmet – very important that it is white.
The resulting item, with the stats of the crappy helmet and appearance of the TOoW hood, will be account bound so you can chuck it in your bank and pick it up for future transmuting on your main.

Personally, I love it.

Conditions are a nice bonus on the side for a Warrior, but they should not be used as your main form of damage. Power and Precision are a lot more viable.
Do you even lift, bro?
Oooo Greataxe.
That’d be orgasmic.
Always bugged me it wasn’t in the game; the Warrior on the website class preview is wielding one!
Do you even lift, bro?
Well, I disagree.

As I said, Warriors main feature is melee.
Range is a backup option for those situations where you just can’t melee.

Condition damage. Specced right, the Scepter is a devastating weapon for Necromancers… as long as they aren’t hitting Structures or things otherwise immune to Conditions.

Well done.
I’ve always been in favor of slugging it out as well, but naturally I get shot down by everyone else.

As it turns out, the Warrior scales incredibly well with Precision and has a ton of base health. Since it is incredibly difficult to gear for Precision and Vitality simultaneously, there’s every reason to go all-in on the Precision side. Traits and Runes are more than sufficient to meet your needs for Vitality; anything more than that, and you’re cutting important stats for a low priority one.
Bingo! Vitality isn’t a bad stat, but you’d have to sacrifice even better stats for it.
Do you even lift, bro?
The Longbow is a good backup weapon for the Warrior, but it doesn’t make a great main weapon.
Warriors are all about melee.

Point made. However, currently there is no reason to pick rifle over GS. I want range to be on equal footing with melee. How you achieve that is what I’m trying to get at with this thread.
And that’s where you go wrong. Range is not supposed to be on equal footing with melee.

The thing that tips the scales in Greatsword’s favor is Forceful Greatsword.
You’ll have 20-25 stacks of Might constantly.
And the reason why Greatsword is mobile is Whirlwind Attack (Which also counts as an Evade. Just sayin’) and Rush.
Since when does constantly mean “sometimes”?
Constantly

Legendary weapons are no longer the product of hard work and due diligence, just who has money.
Hah! It never was.
All about luck with the RNG.

Just because you enjoy PvP doesn’t mean everyone does.
that wasn’t exactly what i was implying. i’m merely going on what every other game is like that i’ve played.
That’s sorta how it came out though. If you only see PvE as a “grind to gear up for PvP”, you’re not going to be able to enjoy it. If, however, you see it as a fun challenge and you enjoy exploring the in-game world and lore…

Read the salvage kit descriptions. Its % chance of “RARER” materials, not “RARE”. It affects the metal/leather/cloth tier returned.
Exactly. All it affects is your chance to get Oricalchum rather than Mithril and so on. Personally I just used my Mystic Forgestones and threw together a Mystic Salvage Kit. That beauty gives lots of Ectoplasms and have 250(!) total uses.

It has grind to a halt for me. I am wearing full Exotics, 100% World Completion. Going after a Legendary is too much of RNG nightmare for me to attempt it. I can’t stand Fractals, which sadly is the only way to progress further.
Only reason why I log in is the occasional dungeon and to chat with my mates. I spend most of my time standing around Lion’s Arch…

Because unforunately Rangers in GW2 are the lame Legolas-kind of Ranger, not the cool Survivalist/Frontierman-type of Ranger.
The only difference between the two concepts is related to historical periods. Tyria is still mostly pre-industrial and also magical, so thematically it’s likely that guns aren’t supposed to be so prevalent that every primitive rugged survivalist walks around with one.
Pre-industrial?
I beg to differ.
Rifles are everywhere. Look at all the Bandits. Even the friggin’ Centaurs have their own rifles!

Do you know that we know more about outer space than we do about that truly lurks down in the depths of our oceans? That’s a scary thought, really.
The terrors of the deep is just as Lovecraftian as the terror from outer space. You have Innsmouth and the Deep Ones. Mother Dagon and Father Hydra. Cthulhu and the sunken city of R’yleh.
Also, Lovecraft wasn’t really racist in the sense that he merely held views the default for his time. Not like actual racists today who live in this enlightenment time yet still cling to such stupid notions.

An alien-looking thing rising up from the unexplored depths could very well be the definition of Lovecraftian.
It isn’t, but well.. y’know…

All squig herders must kittening die.
Agreed!

Problem with Whirling Axe is that the DPS is too low; you would’ve done a lot more damage if you just kept on trucking with the auto-attacks.
Do you even lift, bro?
I said nothing of the sort. I said:
1. The Karka might possibly be immune to corruption.
2. They’re said to be a really ancient species and are also very alien and Lovecraftian.
3. Creatures being immune to corruption is not unheard of as it has happened before in the game with the Sylvari.
Do you even lift, bro?
Anyone else played WAR? Anyhow, the Squig Herder class is pretty much the same as the Ranger; long-range class with a pet.
HOWEVER
As a Squig Herder you can spec to not use your pets. There’s a “trait” that gives you a rather significant damage boost (20-25% if I remember correctly) if you opt to not have you Squig with you.
Wouldn’t it be sorta swell if there was a Trait-line in GW2 for the Ranger that gave you bonuses as long as you didn’t use your pet?
Do you even lift, bro?

What exactly makes the greatsword mobile? If i think of mobile, i think of the sword.
Mobile Strikes is what makes it so mobile, both movement attacks break CC.
When i think of mobile, i think of skills like leap on sword every 8 seconds, and the ability to attack and freely move at the same time.
Put an axe in your main hand and you do the most potential damage possible while freely moving around the area. A greatsword needs 100blades to do the most potential damage since it’s auto attack is as slow as a mace’s. But GS nails you to the ground, I can’t call that mobile.
Every weapon has it’s ups and downs, and obviously they are all either situational or specific to the role you want to play. I won’t say that greatsword’s damage isn’t great, but the axe is pretty much on par with the damage. So why people say that greatsword is by far the best is quite silly in my book.

Asura Guardians are so cliché.
Just like Gnome Warriors/Paladins in WoW, they’re everywhere because people think they’re being unique and clever by tanking with such a little character.
