Trending on twitter, Players who want more for their skill and less RNG.
Dumb luck should not be the barrier between endgame.
Pretty sure every other MMORPG out there has similar things. You do a dungeon and the bosses have a miniscule percentage of dropping the best gear. Or maybe the bosses drop tokens that you need an abysmal amount to trade in for a piece of gear.
The reason the “RNG” is disliked in GW2 has nothing to do with RNG itself, which is in every single kitten RPG ever. It’s that it’s not tied to anything.
Queens gauntlet is a step in the right direction but who wants more?
No it wasn’t. You were massively rewarded for using Gambits, but you got the same reward whether you used them on Liadri or Deadeye Dunwell. And we all know which one people were busy doing.
Hell, you got ridiculous rewards even if you did some of the lower tier bosses. Tyre Ragemaw was cake and you ended up with like 32 silver after the fight.
The original design intentions was a Skill based action MMO, lets help make the community stronger, and more skilled! Lets then reward the players for their skill and a complishments through REAL tests!! Help A-net find our ideas so we can grow, and break some of this RNG.
Combat is a massive part of an MMORPG. Some would argue that it’s right up there with the RPG world itself in terms of importance. And the combat in GW2 requires a lot more skill than most other MMORPGs.
Holy crap, that’s a lot of commas.
Might wanna look into that.
And having information like that up might not even be plausible.
After all, the living story event can end while you’re porting in. Or it can end while the confirmation is on the screen. Or the map could change from not needing overflows with a similar timing.
And then we would just have people complaining about those instead.
… And you didn’t stop to consider that they might do exactly that in the future?
So wait… you’re playing a Thief, a class notorious for being able to cleanse conditions at an alarming rate, and you come here talking about how Condition Warriors, a build notorious for not having a high output of conditions in the first place, is easy?
Yeah…
You can still open them and trade in for the rewards to recoup some of the money you put into it.
And that’s essentially all that they have told us.
Well, I honestly don’t know what to think of this.
On one hand, I have most of the dyes on my main unlocked, so that would be a lot of colours for the rest of my guys,
On the other, what it would mean is that everyone who has alts, which is probably a good majority of the player base, would suddenly not need to use so many dyes. I fear that this added to the fact that dyes don’t have a minimum NPC price would result in at least the Common variety of dyes being absolutely worthless.
Of course, if they did something about the dyes not being NPCable, that might avert the issue. Something like 50 copper for Common (aka Fine), 1 Silver for Uncommon (aka Masterwork) and 10 Silver for Rare (aka Rare).
Part of the problem I’ve noticed recently is actually more to do with other players attitudes than the commanders themselves.
For example the other day in the Pavilion a commander and presumably a group of other players were farming destroyers when the two boss events started up. Some people wanted to go and fight the bosses while others wanted to keep farming.
Normally this shouldn’t be an issue at all, there were more than enough people on the map to do both. But some people seemed to have it fixed in their head that they couldn’t go and do the bosses unless and until the commander did, or another commander came on and started doing them.
So instead of just coming to join those of us making our way to the boss they sat in the ring in the middle demanding, in increasingly abusive language, that the commander stop doing what she wanted and do what they wanted to do…so that they would be able to follow.
Hopefully that’s an isolated incident but I have seen similar things in other situations, people having unrealistic expectations of commanders, like assuming if they’re near a dungeon entrance then it will be open soon and they are personally responsible for making this happen, no matter what they’re actually doing there.
Of course I’ve also seen some really bad commanders, either doing the opposite of that and demanding that everyone on the map does as they’re told just because they switched their icon on, or just doing a bad job of leading people through whatever they’re doing. But I think there’s definitely 2 sides to the issue.
You can lead a horse to water, people are idiots.
That’s actually kinda poetic.
None of the +karma% stuff work on the consumable items.
Most of those sound pretty OP.
Well, that’s another big bank space taker taken care of.
Now if only they did something about the by products of crafting.
I’m getting relatively poorer every second skilled players farm embers and less skilled players farm gauntlet. Please hotfix.
I had no idea that zerging an event required “skill”.
Please explain.
The thing is, majority of the topics that deal with not being able to complete content boils down to people asking for stuff to be made easier. A lot of times it’s not even directly stating that, but rather complaining about how difficult it is and how they should be able to complete it.
And in a lot of those cases, the people who are having trouble are completely unwilling to adapt. On the first day of Queen’s Jubilee, there were tons of posts complaining about the 2 minute time limit for the Gauntlet matches. There were also complaints about how it supposedly favors zerking. And there were complaints about how people were unable to beat it with their current gear/trait lineup.
Warriors are meant to be weak in supporting teams with heals.
In fact, the same is true of every profession that is not Elementalist or Guardian.
The support for a Warrior lies in increasing the damage of your party with Fury and Might. We can also provide Swiftness and Vigor if you pick up a Warhorn.
And personally I feel that the reason why the banner regen trait and the shout heal are in the same slot is because the banner regen does not get any better with increased banners. The sacrifice for grabbing a banner to get access to that permanent Regeneration boon would be too little. After all, most warriors in dungeons already carry For Great Justice, On My Mark and Banner of Discipline.
And of course, banner regen, healing shout and healing signet would be very powerful for the warrior himself. We’re talking 609 hp/s base, with a scaling of 0.23 hp/s per point of Healing Power. Throw in Adrenal Health and we’re talking 729 hp/s with a scaling of 0.38. 1500 Healing Power into that and you’re clocking out at 1299 hp/s.

Thanks for reading.
“First of all we should get out there that we want change. Then we can work out skill cast times, cooldown and how sexy we want the animation to be.”
So I never stated that these would be on a 10s base cooldown.
Yeop my bad, should state that those numbers are based off the same scaling as Eviscerate from axe.
The thing is, ignoring Toughness is very overpowered. Eviscerate with this build while ignoring Toughness against a heavy armor would deal somewhere in the ballpark of 18,000 damage. And that’s a hybrid spec with a ton of defensive gear. This full zerker spec would be dealing in the ballpark of 26,000 damage. And that’s against heavy armor, so we’re talking oneshotting a bunker guardian. From 1200 range.
Of course, those numbers are crits, but it’s not exactly hard to get 90%+ crit rate with a Warrior.
The reason why ignoring Toughness is so overpowered is because of the damage formula:
- (Power x Weapon Damage x Coefficient) / (Armor + Toughness)
Armor for a level 80 character in exotics is 920-1,211, depending on which armor type you’re talking about. Every character also has at least 916 Toughness. So even at the very edge of the spec, Toughness contributes almost half of your defenses. Thus, the ability to bypass toughness means doubling your damage. In the worst scenarios (light armor full toughness), we’re talking tripling your damage.

If your anniversary present is a new car, I don’t think that box will be big enough.
If your anniversary present is diamond earrings, I think that box is way too big.
=)
And if your anniversary present is a footlong sandwich, your box is perfect.
If the gauntlet awarded cogs or nothing instead of money, nobody would do it. Maybe a few completionist for the achievements, but once and no more. Why would you make an effort to beat some of the hardest bosses in this game if you don’t get a reward? For fun? No, man, for fun I would do dungeons and such (and I still do, I’m not farming the whole day you know).
And there lies the problem.
They are supposed to be hard. That’s why the rewards are in place. And yet you can easily beat Deadeye in a matter of seconds. I watched a thief beat Deadeye in the amount of time it took me to select my gambits and opponent.
I myself decided to try Tyre Ragemaw just to see how much the money actually is. I think I ended up with about 6g and a bunch of cogs after 25 minutes.
I have to say that I do think the rewards are a bit too good and some of the mechanics a bit too easy to abuse. Deadeye is only a threat because of his Kill Shot and teleportation, both of which can be taken care of with a little trickery. On the other hand, the Warrior favorite Tyre Ragemaw has high damage, which can be circumvented by using the massive uptime for Daze and Stun on Mace/Shield.
For me personally, fighting Tyre Ragemaw with Mace/Shield and a GS is much more of a challenge than going with the zerg train for the bosses. Other than that, fighting in the Gauntlet has a higher yield of Watchwork Sprockets, which I like to spend on the weapon boxes.
You’re doing this again?
Yeah, Omnomberry Pie got an ICD for a reason: it gave zerkers ridiculous ability to heal. And your 3 times per second isn’t much better than what it was before. That’s still 975 hp/s, which is far more than any healing skill in the game.
The reason Leg Specialist got an ICD was because Hamstring got moved to Sword autoattack. Not having an ICD would be insane. Three times in 5 seconds? Yeah, that would be about the same as not having an ICD at all. And the reason it would be bad is simple: we’re talking near permanent Immobilize. That’s ridiculous. Leg Specialist is already used with Opportunist to provide Sword MH permanent Fury.
I did some Indestructible Golem testing last night. 30/0/0/10/30 does around the same kind of damage, at much lower might stacks. But…it also has a 2 weapon slot rotation where the latter you only focus on one weapon…so you have a slot free.
Yeah, but the 30/0/0/10/30 is more of an organized team spec, where you can expect there to be other team mates (possibly more warriors or a mesmer) to provide you with high might stacks.
Also, I don’t see how 30/0/0/10/30 supposedly differs from 30/25/0/0/15 for swapping weapons. Heck, I run 0/30/20/0/20 and I swap whenever my swap is out of cooldown.
With that out of the way… I think that the OP is mistaking two different things. On one hand, “casual” is used to refer to people who play infrequently and/or for short durations. On the other, “casual” is used to refer to people who don’t care/want the typical MMORPG endgame grinding.
Personally, I haven’t seen that many complaints about the personal story. Some parts have been unintentionally made harder with difficulty changes to veterans and champions in the open world carrying over to Personal Story.
Fractals were something that was given to the people who were saying that there was no endgame dungeons. That would, in a sense, be one facet of the “hardcore” crowd.
On the other hand, Liadri was something that was given to the other facet of “hardcore” players: the ones that were complaining that the boss encounters were filled with OHKO mechanics and weren’t actually hard.
I don’t think that ANet is trying to market their game to one crowd over the other. The thing with “hardcore” content is that it’s not something you should primarily develop, as the audiences have shifted from being primarily “hardcore” to a point where the “hardcore” as the minority. And of course, the “hardcore” players put in much more hours in a shorter timespan, so even if you do give them content, they devour it much faster than the “non-hardcore” crowd goes through whatever you give them.
If there’s one segment of the game that hasn’t been getting loads of love, it would have to be WvW.
Forceful Greatsword kinda sucks if you have a group with multiple warriors, as your lengthy might stacks from For Great Justice are going to be replaced with the short ones from Forceful Greatsword.
Also, the 30/0/0/10/30 setup offers 150 power to your whole group. And naturally, if there are multiple people, you can use something like Empowered instead.
In general, you want to go 30/25/0/0/15 for pugs and 30/0/0/10/30 for organized groups.
Who are you to say that “spying” in WvW is not a legitimate tactic?
actually yes it is a tactic, but a pretty lame one.imo
Yeah well golem rushing is also often considered a lame tactic. Wanna implement a counter that prevents any server from having more than X golems spawned on any WvW map at the same time?
Oh and using tons of ACs is also considered a lame tactic. Wanna limit the amount of ACs? What about using ACs outside of towers/keeps/SM?
Who are you to say that “spying” in WvW is not a legitimate tactic?
Treated on the same level? How is it the same when a female is being called an emperor, a male title, when there actually is a word for that same female emperor and that is the empress. It was made for a reason.
Yeah, the difference is that one word means “male monarch” and the other “female monarch”. The point that people are trying to get across to you is that in modern day, making such distinctions between the two genders is sexist.
And yes, if both are referred to with the same title, that is equality. After all, you cannot say that “Emperor” would be a male title since it can obviously refer to a female in this world. And it can also obviously refer to a male as well. Thus, it is equal.
Would you like if, for example, your male character had the title “The Queen”? Would you rather be the king, instead, if there were such a title.
Actually no, I would like to be called The Supreme Ruler. But maybe that’s just me.
When I said sexist, i thought of this “Most female counterwords aren’t even necessary.” which, by all means, is sexist.
How is that treating everyone the same? Saying that female counter words aren’t necessary? Why were they made then?
… I could go all linguistic philosophy on you, but I’d rather not do that.
Just because a word exists does not mean that it should be used. In fact, there are multiple work titles, such as “stewardess” that have recently fallen out of use in favor of unisex titles such as “flight attendant”.
Queen Elizabeth is called The Queen. Not the king. Just saying. Just an example. Think about that.
Well actually, in the case of most royal families, it makes sense to have the titles be separate, since often they have both a King and a Queen and it wouldn’t be possible to refer to them with the same title. Same is true of chess pieces, by the way.
even if italian is talked only in italy, we are still part of europe and have the same language rights i guess…
coming out that we are sons of a lesser god because we are not born in the country of the chosen ones is stupid!
i don’t care, i can understand english perfectly fine even if i don’t speak it that much, but nobody is asking for voice over, they were asking for just translation.
There’s a total of 24 official languages in the European Union. Out of those, only four are options in Guild Wars 2.
Your argument could be used for all the other 19 languages. Heck, some of them have even better arguments than Italian, as they use a different alphabet.
also i hate assumption that imply other language other than english, french, german and spanish are a waste of time for the rest of the world (since the rest of the world likes to spend so much time in italy anyway)
That’s an assumption that you are making. No one else is making that assumption. It just happens that English, French, German and Spanish are the most widely spoken languages in Europe. As you can see, English is the overall most spoken language, with German and French coming up next. The reason Spanish was chosen over Italian would most likely be because Italian is hardly spoken outside of Italy, whereas Spanish is rather evenly spoken both in Spain and outside.
And as was pointed out by everyone else, implementing a language to the game comes with a lot of requirements. You have to do the voicework for every single NPC, which there are hundreds of. You also have to do all the written text in the game, which is a massive effort. Also, you might have noticed that all the supported languages have servers of their own. This means that any language is only up to consideration if there is a significant enough playerbase to warrant giving them at least one server. Last but not the least, by having the game available in a specific language, you’re implying that the customer has the right to support in that language, which means hiring people who are proficient at that language to fill tech support roles.
And of course, adding languages after the game has been out for almost a year is going to have issues of its own. Even if you add a language, give them their own server and provide free transfer to that server, you’re probably wasting your time as most people will not be willing to leave behind their guilds and friends just to move to a server with their own language.
So in the end, it’s a lot of effort and resources that would most likely end up wasted.

Well:
- Warhorn provides 10s of Swiftness. 15s cooldown
- Signet of Rage provides 30s of Swiftness. 60s cooldown
- Furious Speed provides 10s of Swiftness on critical hit. 15s cooldown
- 10 points into Discipline gets you Warrior’s Sprint, which provides a 25% movement speed increase when wielding melee weapons.
There are also various traits that go with these. Tactics as a tree provides boon duration, plus there’s a Major Master trait (20 points) called Quick Breathing, which lowers the cooldown of Warhorn skills by 20%. That alone makes Warhorn provide permanent Swiftness. Similarly, 10 points into Discipline gives you access to Signet Mastery, which would lower the cooldown on Signet of Rage to 48s.
Well, in the item hierarchy for the event stuff, the Watchwork Portal Device is the rarest thing. Makes sense for it to be exotic if you ask me.
Do note that the event items are not taking slots from other exotic/rare/masterwork items. They’re additions to the drop tables.
I actually wish Bull’s Rush had a 1/4 second stun and a 15 second cool-down. Gap Closer.
Yeah so that we can add in Sigil of Paralyzation and get 50% crit rate on it and have Axe/Shield be hilariously powerful.
Also, the OP reminded me of that Braham skin on the Gem Store. It’s got horns.
5 Thick Skin
Heal for 5% of your toughness whenever you gain health.
So that means Healing Signet would be even better than it currently is, considering that it heals every second.
Not to mention that it heavily overlaps with Adrenal Health. Rather do something to Adrenal Health.
25 Armored Attack
1% of toughness is given as a bonus to critical damage.
(100 toughness is 1% critical damage.)
So that means 9% crit damage base? And honestly, I don’t think it’s a good idea, since that would result in certain stat combinations being outright obsolete. For example, Valkyrie would be useless in Chest, Head, Legs, Amulet, Accessories and Rings, as Soldier would be strictly superior.
And can you imagine the kind of crit damage you would get for putting on a full set of Cavalier? Well, we’re talking 170% crit damage. 180% with food. Go 30 into Discipline and throw in some Rubies and we’re talking 224%.
While your dream would be to give bunkers more damage, what you’re also looking at is giving the Zerkers more durability, as they would be switching to mostly Knight’s armor.
(edited by Olba.5376)
I would like more aggressive leaps/pulls on other weapons. It feels like a lot of our weapons are in-complete compared to other classes. Other class’s weapons have boons/conditions and a lot of cool effects attached right to them, while ours are like theirs, except less. Bland
Pretty sure the reason why we don’t get boons on weapons is because that’s something that is a distinctively Guardian thing.
In terms of conditions, Warriors have good access to Vulnerability and excellent access to Cripple. And we have the longest bleeds in the game. And of course, we’re one of the few to get Torment.
As for leaps and pulls, I don’t really know. The thing is, we have so much cripple that giving more means of catching up to our foes might become broken. If anything is done to our movement, I would prefer them making Rush better.
- Well how about no on the achievement part? A massive majority of all achievement points are in PvE, not in WvW. Thus, AP has very little relation to how long you’ve been in WvW. As for the ranking, I’m not sure. From what I’ve done with commanders in WvW, a lot of them do stuff like leading people in building siege in towers, which doesn’t get any WXP to them unless they build it on their own, rather than just placing it.
Honestly, I don’t think that it’s possible to rank a commander in a fair manner. WXP doesn’t quite cut it as a measurement, considering that the best way to get it is to blob up, which doesn’t really make you any better of a commander. Achievement points only relate to doing stuff in the game, which doesn’t have to be WvW. For example, Jumping Puzzles yield massive amounts of achievement points, not to mention dailies.
Having the Commanders be rankable by some kind of voting system also wouldn’t work, because that just turns into a popularity contest.
It seems I can no longer pull them to the merchants to kill Tenoh. They seem to be leashed.
Some men just want to watch the world burn. Luckily for everyone else there are guardians like me that can retaliation these stupid things.
Holy kitten, you’re Batman?
Personally, I don’t like Jumping Puzzles either. To me, they feel a bit out of place and, for an open world, they’re a bit too obviously crafted into the world.
However, I simply choose not to do most jumping puzzles. To me, using a Mesmer portal would ruin it. That crystallizes the idea that I am doing it for the rewards, not for the activity itself. And if I’m doing something for the rewards rather than the activity itself, then I need to reconsider what the hell I am doing.
So the recipes remain lucrative without a massive grind.
You would be complaining more if it required a massive grind.
Whatever happened to the god ol’ days when crafting was neither grind-intensive nor time gated?
“Good old days”? My memory of crafting in other games included things like lower level materials having abysmal drop rates for higher level characters. The result was that materials in the mid range of levels cost more than the highest tier of materials and their accessibility was a fraction of the higher stuff.
If you wanted to “grind” that stuff, you had to make an alt that was at the proper level. And even then, you would’ve fared better if you just did some endgame dungeoning on your high level character and bought the stuff instead.
Heck, even single play RPGs are guilty of extremely grindy crafting. Think Final Fantasy XII with Tournesol or Dark Matters in Final Fantasy X.
(edited by Olba.5376)
Well, some that come to my mind that have been suggested here:
- A storage for dungeon tokens was implemented in the Wallet
- Various trait improvements (such as Cleansing Ire for Warrior) have been put in
- Various skill improvements (such as the healing changes for Warriors)
- Increased loot for Champions was also brought up here
I honestly don’t think that recharging instantly would be a good idea.
But maybe, like, reduce the cooldown?
I just got my 5,000 AP chest the other day and I’ve never stepped into any proper dungeon. Well, I have done a few fractals and the Wintersday toy factory, but that’s all.
Oh dear, I wasn’t expecting to find Final Fantasy XIII-2 in these forums.
Cool.
Here you can see another S/S warrior facing a S/Sh warrior. You can clearly spot the S/Sh using Shield Stance and Shield Bash, while the S/S one seems to be spamming Flurry. A lot. Gotta love that Final Thrust in there too.

- Is there a difference between your “quarterstaff” and the current staff that’s already in the game?
- Also, even if the answer to the above is no, you’re still talking 2 new weapons with the profession. That’s not really a good idea, considering that you would pretty much have to spread the access to the other professions. And that’s a ton of extra work.
- I’m not sure that the idea of combining your F-skills with utilities is a good way to go. It just sounds like something that would be extremely prone to pigeonholing.
- Pretty sure Aspects are already tied to the Zephyrites. Better go for a renaming, unless you want your profession to be accessible once a year.
Sidewinder X4 and Zowie EC1 eVo.
The latter is the third member in a chain of similar mice, preceded by Razer DeathAdder and IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0.
Just gonna sit and wait until someone comes in to rage about freaking Defektive using GS with Mace/Shield.
I’ll be honest, I rather like the smaller scale and overall lightness of the Living Story.
To me, one thing that always kinda made MMORPGs seem weird was that they kept getting these end-of-the-world scale threats so often. I mean, what kind of world is it when you beat one world-consuming abomination only for the next one to emerge a week later? And how would they explain that the heroes never get even slightly tired or depressed about it?
And really, it makes the world… more alive. While our characters might be heroes, they’re not the only people in the world. And ordinary people have celebrations, elections and stuff like that.
And of course, having a villain (group) that is not about ending the world for no apparent reason is actually pretty nice. I just hope that they flesh out the Aetherblades a bit more. There needs to be proper reason why they’re terrorizing the people. Can you imagine how hilarious it would be if the villain was terrorizing the people because they’re celebrating and not fighting the dragons? That would be so hilariously meta that I think that would result in a massive explosion of lolz on the forum.
Shield Stance with a knockdown would be hilariously OP in WvW.
But kitten it, one of them gets to use heavy armor and pistols. That’s cheating if there ever was some.
I have a counterproposal.
Limit the amount of tickets you can use per day to like 20.
Another day, another event exploiter complaining about people ruining their exploitation.
Man, I can’t wait for ANet to make the timers on all the champions longer and more random.
Though, in the event of this being an actual legit complaint: It’s open world, you shouldn’t go in expecting flawless execution. Because there’s very little you can do about randoms joining in. And people will always be asking for whatever class they think is the best. I’ve seen other MMORPGs that had 10 classes and endgame PvE dungeons were basically looking for just 2 of them. Not to mention that the actual speedrunners had a bar of entry that would basically amount to having full exotics, ascended and a legendary in this game.
(edited by Olba.5376)
Well, I have to say I don’t really like the idea here either.
First off, Sure-Footed won’t be able to handle long durations without something being nerfed. I mean sure, 50% for 8s could still be handled, but 25% for 16s? That’d be a 20s duration stance with Sure-Footed, which is quite ridiculous.
Second off, it would make comboing Frenzy with Endure Pain even more of an issue. Currently, popping Endure Pain and Frenzy at the same time leaves you with 2s more Frenzy than you’re getting Endure Pain for, which means you’re still taking some risk with using it. But with Frenzy being a 25% damage increase to yourself, having Endure Pain reduce damage by 50% for 8s would easily fully cover Frenzy, making it a no-brainer. Even more ridiculously, with 25% reduction for 16s, you’re going way beyond “safe”.
Also, with longer durations, the possibility of procing Defy Pain while you’re already using Endure Pain would be much higher. And let’s just say that if the two don’t stack, you’ve made Defy Pain into something alike the much hated Last Refuge on a Thief. If they do stack, you’re looking at:
- Untraited: 50% reduction for 16s
- Traited: 50% reduction for 20s
- Untraited: 25% reduction for 32s
- Traited: 25% reduction for 40s
And let me tell you, all of those numbers are completely insane.
And honestly, to me this just seems like a variant of Daecollo’s usually “WE WANT PROTECTION! BECAUSE NO ONE CAN EVER BUNKER UNLESS THEIR PROFESSION HAS PROTECTION!” stuff. Because let’s be honest, 50% reduction on 8s in a trait would be better than having a 60s cooldown trait with 10s of Protection. And of course, the 25% reduction for 16s would be superior as well.
And since I know Daecollo loves ad hominem, I’ll just point out that my Warrior runs Berserker armor with Hoelbrak runes, exotic Knight’s trinkets with Rubies in them and 0/30/20/0/20 for about 2.9k armor total.
(edited by Olba.5376)
You’re misunderstanding it.
Each stack of bleeding does 42.5 + 0.05 x condition damage. That is, 25 stacks of Bleeding will do 1,062.5 + 1.25 x condition damage worth of damage per second, which is more than three times that of Burning.
In fact, Burning will always be equal to about 6-7 stacks of bleeding, assuming identical amounts of condition damage.
The reason Burning has such high base damage becomes apparent if you compare it with the others:
- Unlike Bleeding and Confusion, Burning stacks duration rather than intensity
- Unlike Poison, Burning does not have an additional effect other than damage
- Fear only deals damage with a Necromancer that has traited for it
That is to say, Poison makes up for the lower damage by being useful. Bleeding and Confusion are actually better than Burning most of the time due to stacking intensity and Fear is a unique case.
Torment isn’t really something to consider since access to it is very limited.
