if utilities will be changed to initiative based skills, i think it will be a dissaster
imagine if healing ability will cost 6 initiative
all 7-9 skills will use 7 initiative
elite skill 8 initiative
scenario 1: if we missed CnD, and we want to heal immediately, = death
there are some back items that dont contain the name spineguard, right?
so we cant filter off backsitems from TP?
i cant filter them of., is it in the trinkets category?

Its not the blinding that this game has, what im suggesting is blinding as flashbang like what FPS games has, where the enemy screen will turn completely white,
its not a specific counter to thieves, but a utility to rangers to use against different enemies in pvp, whether what class rangers face

since reveal buff is not well accepted by the thief community,
because they point out that:
1. specific counter build is not good, eg revealing stealthed character
2. they also pointed that only 2 classes uses stealth as a mechanic.
then why not give rangers blinding light (aka flashbang to FPS games) so that it can be used generally against all classes,

Rangers are a very good class, they have way better traits then thieves do and access to more then one kind of playstyle.
even if they have wide variety of playstyle and traits
rangers are still a good food to be devoured by our thieves,
and im still wondering why rangers in gw2 doesnt have a stealth remover, given that most of mmorpgs use ranger/hunter/marksman/gunslinger have stealth trackers
how about, we change it to gain endurance for 50% whenever we reach 25% of hp
an extra dodge whenever we are below 25% health is nice(i think)
Or they could exempt the last refuge/ instinctual response trait not affected by reveal debuff,
even if they made the stats of t3=exotic, i would not dare to make it as my armor, eg, i dont like the stats of human t3 medium, pow prec cond,
it will still be as good as a skin,
but i do like the suggestion made earlier, to make it as a skin like HoM skins.
In all honesty, good mesmers are the ones that i am afraid to deal with,

It was a ninja patch from anet: due to many ppl complaining that thieves have very little in the way of dmg, they made the thieves guild melee thief use backstab after scorpion wire.

1) Join a guild
2) Make a guild group
3) Go to LA
4) Enter FotM
5) ProfitNote: if you cant get a guild group, you need to join a better guild. Its called Guild Wars for a reason and you can even join multiple guilds.
I don’t see how this negates the gated community effect…. it just gives you a better opportunity to find people willing to take a few steps backwards in order to go forward. I mean I wanna help my buddies out… but it sucks that I’m going to have to run lower fractals 7 or more times just so that they’re at my level; whereas my proposal above could shave that to more like 3-4 runs.
i agree, for example i have level 24 fractal, would i be willing to grind 23 levels of fractal to help a level 1 fractal runner? i will think several times, and my answer would be/ probably No, because its time consuming, and drop rates are lower in rate low-level fractal
a sad part also is that, any returning players that have not touched this dungeon will find it hard to look for a group/ a guildmate/ that is willing to devout their time running a low level fractal…
but i guess i need a guild that is willing to run a low level fractal in the future, since as of now, everyone in my guild is rushing/ competing for a high level fractal
the difference of story mode and explorable mode is that if you have a member who has not yet done with story mode he/she can still run explorable given that other members have explorable mode,
i hope this new dungeon changes its mechanics, that even if you did not accomplish level 11, that you can still access level 11 given that one of the members have level 11 fractal, even if you have level 2 fractal
its pretty hard to find any low level group. players on scale 1 are pretty much screwed allready. I’ve tried several times, always more than 1 hour and no chance. And it won’t get better in any way, since there is no reset. So you have 2 choises: Jump on the gear grind treatmill right now, or beeing left out forever and from all future content. Easy as that.
true, once you are left out, you are left out forever, this dungeon is not for the casual players,
maybe if i will not play for another 3 weeks, and try out this dungeon, every one else will be at least at level 10
and i will not find any player who is willing to run a level 1 fractal
the sad part is that no one that has a high level of fractal scale wants to help/lend a hand to low level fractal runner,
its so hard to find PUG that has a low level scale in FOTM, because everyone wants to/have to be in higher level, i myself just login after 1 week of not playing and looking for level 1 scale
no one ever wants to help someone with low level fotm scale
rangers are exceptionally good at PVE, the only clamor is with PvP
i saw a group of rangers with chinese names in WvWvW specifically in SoS server,
same outfit same default face and hair setting same pet(jellyfish), swimming and killing and farming,
i tried and approached to kill them but they were not responsive like what other players would normally do, but in the end im dead (they are quite powerful)
so, farmers found a way to farm in WvWvW
my best indicator for night and day is,
AC weapons, and ghostly pepper popper,.
and its really odd, like in other maps, its like the sun is shinning brightly, but actually its night time, i hope night time is a little darker

or why not, change the mug according to what weapon you are using (like warrior f1 ability)
pistol main hand= mug(bleed)
dagger mainhand =mug(damage)
sword = mug(immobilized)
short bow = mug (knock back)

because it was so shocking to hear just in a week-time-notice that new items that is superior to present items will be implemented.
at least by doing an advance notice we can prepare for what will happen,

and just incase that backstab is nerfed, and NOT mug+CnD,
other thief can also just use mug+CnD+tactical strike, same destructive power+dazing/bling ability
yeah backstab is not the main culprit,
it is MUG + cnd
no trait shoul do 6k damage in itself, maybe we could petition to change mug to deal bleeding instead of direct damage,
and or CnD should act as a preparatory skill like black powder of offhand pistol(meaning less damage) instant cast, low damage
In itself, backstab damage is FINE, but what makes it so destructive is the Mug+ CnD combo
theoretically, if mug will just provide bleed + CnD is just a preparatory stealth charge no one will die
normal>master>rare>exotic>ascended>ascended master>ascended rare>ascended exotic> transcended>transcended master>transcended rare>transcended exotic…………… legendary

I think that is the point of having stats already on them..there is no customization past the infusion..so you have to farm more for the stats you want.
oh so sad, i cant have def + damage at my future accessories then,
i hope future armors can be upgraded with runes.

asura is in an advantage situation, if you are going to be a defensive thief, 5 secs of confusion and retaliation till be a plus for you. WvWvW setting of course
condition builds will not be affected, since conditions are balanced across all classes that can provide conditions,
the bleed of any class is the same as anyone else given that they have the same condition damage modifiers

I would hold off until the patch hits before dedicating too many resources into any current Thief spec.

I love how everyone who has never played a thief but fights them think we have some magic button we can spam that just instantly puts us in stealth without having to do anything. Every form of stealth a thief has, has a cost, the most common of which has a moderate initiative cost AND requires us to land a very specific hit with a noticeable animation. If you dodge that, BAM you just prevented stealth, a solid amount of damage, AND the potential for massive damage. It’s all a matter of learning WHAT to dodge. Instead of crying about it, learn how to counter it.
The problem for this guy specifically is he’s a ranger that can’t put away his pet. That should be addressed. You can’t tell me you have never C&D’d a ranger pet when you can’t get to the ranger himself due to him successfully kiting you with traps or whatever. If they had the option to dismiss them they would have a easier time vs thieves at a small cost.
i agree, as long as rangers cant stow away thier pets permanently, rangers will always be a good source of badges

i, myself, tried the pseudo-bunker thief and its fun, eventhough i cant kill fast, at least i can outlast them >.<
