To rush far at the start, you should either be able to win the 1v1 or stall the 1v2 long enough for it to be an advantage. It can be a viable strategy, and is often a very good way to carry teams in solo queue. You don’t even necessarily need to decap the point if you can hold multiple opponents there long enough. It’s not a cut and dry issue, but if you die too fast, it’s not a good idea.

That’s like how it was for the PvP Mystic Forge before the reward tracks were added. I don’t see any problem as long as it’s just different skins, not better rewards.

The rank up chests are unrelated to the reward tracks, but I see what you mean in regards to overall PvP rewards. You still do receive worse drops from the PvP loot boxes if your PvE level is below 80.

It should cap you at two tiers for hot join. Are you sure you didn’t play one solo queue match to put you at 2.3 tiers gained or something like that?

My main issue for these would be that, due to the equal access to the other tracks, the lower tracks would be pretty much useless. Who would do a reward track for anything short of a 20-slot bag when you can just do the dungeon tracks and then buy the bag? The way they’re designed, you need to have them all be of approximately equal value or you’re just adding tracks that nobody will use.

The All Star Tournament at Gamescom gave out a full armor set to the NA and EU teams. That includes Phantaram, Zombify, Zoose, Supcutie, and Kaypud for NA and Helseth, Denshee, Tage, Sizer, and Rom for EU.

Most teams are starting to run a comp along the lines of 2 Elementalists, 1 Engineer, 1 Warrior, and 1 random. The random class is generally a Warrior, Engineer, Necromancer, or Thief. In terms or OPness ATM, I’d say Elementalist and Engineers are both bigger problems than Thieves.

Cleansing Ire is a trait used in almost every warrior build. The easiest way to proc that is with Longbow. On top of having strong skills of it’s own, Longbow gives easier access to condi clear through easy proccing of Cleansing Ire. There’s a reason almost every warrior build runs Longbow.

It’s just a fact that if you play those weapon sets, you’ll be an easy kill for many classes. You don’t have good ways to deal with conditions. Anyway, if you’re not playing meta specs, all I can tell you is that you need to practice general game mechanics. Dodge the hard hitting skills. Count their dodges and land your hard hitting skills. Use your defensive cooldowns efficiently.

Just a note to the people saying this turned them off from joining a team: I don’t know a single team that rages at each other as much as Sharks does. On another note, my opinion of this is that Ferox can’t accept criticism and his team can’t supply constructive criticism, but that’s neither here nor there.

That’s what you said, and that’s what I was arguing against. An ele takes just as long to kill as a hambow, and takes about the same amount of effort.

At top tier, condi necro will beat hambow. Necros lose at lower skill levels only because they don’t manage their dodges and cooldowns well. Besides, the tanky comp generally pushes 3 points, and the hambow is not the one you want to rely on to win the 1v1s. It’s strong in skirmishes, but it’s too easy to beat in 1v1s. It loses to so many things now. Also, the soldier’s hambow generally runs Battle Standard.

There is no delay for authorized shoutcasters. If they are spectating your matches, they can literally talk to you in map chat as they observe in real time. If you watch them stream one, there is a delay because of the stream, not in game.

Even doing this live would require many more changes to the existing system, along with being exploitable. Doing this with a delay or after the fact would require an entirely new system to be put in place. Not matter what way you look at it, adding this would be a lot of work. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea. In fact, I’m all for it. However, be honest with yourself about what you’re asking them to do, and keep in mind the other objectives and size of the team you’re asking it of.

Soldier’s Hambow loses hard to a good condi necro…

Axe/Sword Longbow is really only usable in the 3-point CM-esque comp. Hambow’s stronger in team fights, whereas A/Sw LB is stronger in skirmishes.

It’s possible depending on the skill. For example, if you’re a Warrior and you drop a Combustive Shot. If you dodge into melee range while they have Shocking Aura up and Combustive Shot damages them, it will stun you.

In regards to Celestial/Soldier amulets for Warriors: I think that Celestial is significantly stronger on A/Sw LB than Soldier’s is, but since the patch I’ve noticed that most warriors have gone back to Hambow anyway. I think Soldier’s is the stronger option for Hambow. Hambow is much more prevalent, so Soldier’s amulet is probably used more than Celestial on Warriors nowadays.

Condi damage is highest because it only comes from a few sources. Power damage is spread across every different attack you have.

S/D thieves can go into Crit Strikes instead of Acrobatics and do a ton of damage.

Against enemies of equal skill:
-Stalemate vs staff ele
-Stalemate vs cele engi until it crates
-Even match-up vs necros
-Favors the ele vs mesmer and thief, but possible to lose
-Beats warrior unless you play poorly
In 1v1 scenarios, it’s VERY hard to get a celestial DD ele in trouble.The most you can really rely on is sending someone who can stalemate the fight if you own the point he’s going to, sending someone who can decap the point and stalemate if they own the point, or outnumber the fight quickly with a mobile class. If you’re outnumbering the fight, it might be best to have the 1v1 start, have the ele blow some cooldowns, then come in.

As you may or may not know, the EU Tournament of Glory starts this weekend! MP is excited to run the EU version of this event. Hopefully you are too. If so, here’s a chance for you to get involved. Toward that end, Mistpedia is sponsoring a contest. Basically we want you to make brackets showing who YOU think is going to win each match for these qualifiers. The first person to post the closest bracket to the outcome will win 800 gems. Temporary LB decay can work, but I don’t personally think it should be 100% temporary. I think most of it should be temporary, but there should be SOME permanent aspect. Then good players who come back aren’t rated as trash, but there is also some penalty for inactivity.

The thief was correct. You don’t ever pull a boss unless you can secure the kill. That might mean you just wiped them, or you see all five of them at far. Sometimes it’s just that you killed the enemy thief, so there’s nobody on their team in position to steal it. Also, if you’re going to post stuff like this, black out the names, please.

Hi. Many of you may recognize me from Vee Wee’s List of Chubby McCheeseburgers or something like that. I was formerly on Team Teamwork, but decided to part ways with that team in search of a more competitive team. I am rank 80 with 5,160 tournament matches played and play on a competitive level with warrior and elementalist. I’m vocal in TS and knowledgeable about rotations. Lastly, I don’t like playing with ragers. I want chill people to play with. We can talk about mistakes after the match. Mention it and move on. Raging mid match doesn’t help anyone.
