If you could get it guaranteed after 10, it wouldn’t really count as “rare”.
Same would go for rares obtained by using the dragon timer.
This applies to RNG as a whole. That’s why other MMOs use a token based system which creates a ceiling on your efforts. This was recognized after fractals was released and now there’s a daily token you can get — this caps the maximum time expenditure on a player’s part to 10 days for an ascended ring.
The example was off topic, but the rest is relevant. Eliminate RNG and implement deterministic reward and crafting systems.
I don’t RNG in the game. But Anet and Ncsoft doesn’t seem to be backing away from RNG. This idea would at least make RNG less of a ripoff.
This idea allows Anet to sell RNG chest. And also would help Anet to sell more chests. Because players have less than 10 dropped chest opened. Will be more likely to buy some chests. If there was a guarantee that they would get a skin.
Example:
*Supply Crate
Open 10 Supply Crate to get 1 weapon ticket in the mail.
Players earn 1 ticket for every 10 Supply Crates opened.
*Black Lion Chests
Open 10 Black Lion Chests to get 1 rare item/skin in the mail.
Players earn 1 rare item/skin for every 10 Black Lion Chests opened.
First they take our World pvp. Doesn’t work with the team aspect of the DE system.
Then they take our DPS meters. Why do you want more screen clutter?
Then our /inspect cosmetic only with player/guild message and profiles

You just don’t like dueling. If the post was about a topic you wanted. You would make a reply supporting it.
That is why I wanted the option. I simply don’t like or understand having shoulders when one is left completely exposed. It makes it a tough choice even though I really like the shoulders.
With some roman gladiator armor, one shoulder is left exposed for the shield.
Spartan’s didn’t or rarely even wore shoulder armor at all.
Players were exploiting it by deleting and remaking characters, so we made it based on your entire account.

Due to the reward being so high, and the upscaling for the living world, this was seen as being bad.
edit: Make it so characters under two days old can’t receive the reward.

The fog looks great. Just make the icons stand out more.
I agree with this idea. The first time I bought a infusion, it was the wrong one.
Maybe it doesn’t have to be called a achievement or be in the achievement panel. You would just see a stat of how many chest the player has opened. At every 10 opened you would get a ticket in the mail. Or a rare in BLC’s.
Well I hope they were summarily smacked upside the head.

It’s that persons bosses fault for not properly reviewing the patch note before being posted! Anet management is more to blame because they have final say.
If the person writing the patch note got in trouble for it. That was just wrong. His/her boss should have done a better job checking the patch notes. That’s part of their job.
We’re listening. That area was never intended to be accessible, but we’re looking at other changes we can make that won’t confuse players trying to visit their home instance or continue their story, and won’t get in the way of RPers. I don’t have an ETA for when a change will go in, though, sorry!
I don’t RP but i don’t mind RP’s. They add life to areas.
I’m not sure how there is any confusion for players trying to visit their home instance.
Maybe instance teleport scrolls that take you directly to one of the previous instances. And on the anniversary the replay npc’s for story review would be up again.

For those who missed parts of the living story…
Would people be happy if ‘replay tickets’ were made available through the gem store? These would basically re-load the LS elements for that person alone.
My feeling is that when I go to a story mission, I can see the green sparkly thing telling me where the instance entrance is, but noone else can. Would there be a way to make this happen for all LS elements so that only -you- can see the dead drops, or the molten facility entrances?
How much would people be prepared to pay for such replay tickets?
These could be adapted to the personal story too for those who wish to run through it again.
I would pay NOTHING to reply story missions! This feature should be FREE! STOP GIVING ANET BAD IDEAS!
I would also apply this idea to the BLC. Every 10 BLC’s opened gives 1 guaranteed random rare item and a increased chance of a super rare item.

Good idea, but 50 is too many. 10 sounds better because they drop rarely.
It also gives players a ascentive actually buy some chests to complete their achievement.
Every 10 chest would give one weapon ticket. Once 10 chests are opened the achievement resets. But shows as complete.
*10 chests open achievement, 1 skin ticket
I like this idea for most instances. I’m not sure about having all of a dungeon opened up though.

All I see is name tags. I would turn them off if it didn’t put me at a disadvantage. Tags revealing players locations is one of the main reasons I don’t play WvW.
At any given time, if Canach is NOT following you, he is setting off (or rearm) mines.

The reason why /duel is not in the game is because arenanet wont make money out of it. IT WONT HAPPEN. Its not hard to code and its easy to implement in the game. Why else do u think they added spvp tokens?
Increased player base from people who want dueling is how Anet will make money. It’s also VERY LIKELY TO HAPPEN in some form. Costume brawl and other plained mini games is PROOF that Anet likes dueling.
I’m sure Anet is planning dueling with limitations on where and how players can duel each other.
I agree that “don’t play the UI, play the game” is better than having to read the chat or look at the mini map. We should be able to play this game with a minimal or no hud and still understand what’s happening.
If you’re just running or spamming a attack. The PS4 touchscreen could give you the option to have a menu displayed just on the controler.
The Wii U controller would work better for this. But the Wii U wouldn’t be able play GW2 in 1080i.

But many menu options could be played through the touchpad. The Mic with voice recognition can be used for voice and text chat.

I’m saying, GW is too complex for simple controller based controls. You’d use a keyboard and mouse. So basically you are using a computer. That makes the need for GW on next gen consoles nonexistent. If you wanna play, get a PC. And if you want a larger screen, I know someone who players GW on a 48 inch.
Console controls have evolved more than PC controls. Depending of the console you can use a controller, mouse/keyboard, move, kinect, touchscreen, and headset.
Besides the future of gaming will be on console like tablet devices. And probably use the cloud.

The controllers wouldn’t have adequate support for the game. Not enough buttons. And if you would use a keyboard somehow with a console, you basically have a computer with a flat screen. I don’t think they will do that. Plus are you forgetting that GW2 is more than 24GB? That’s a lot to run on a console.
Keyboard and mouse support is already built into the current consoles. Developers just don’t take advantage of it. Even the PS2 had keyboard and mouse support. FF11 used this feature.
Does culling effect supply crates? Or can culling prevent supply crates from ever being seen, before they disappear?

Didn’t WoW have a expansion where flying mounts were limited to that zone? Then WoW players started asking for using flying mounts anywhere. So they made a expansion to let players do that.
Pro mount players will never be satisfied with a few zones.

I picked a human Thief. But I disappointed to find out that a Thief doesn’t steal anything other than a enemies skill.
I just want my Thief to actually be a Thief.

I agree with the out of combat swap for elementalists.
Some people will say it gives elementalists to many skills in WvW/SPvP. But that doesn’t mean there can’t a cooldown for PvP. That starts when you use a skill on another player.
Does “Skip Content” include skipping any chests and boss drops?
Levels are not important in this game. Traits and armor are.
Traits and armor are strictly limited by your level. Also when you’re level 15 and the mobs are level 60, your aggro radius becomes huge and your armor doesn’t matter because you get one-shotted. Have you even been underleveled in a zone?
What are you doing in a higher level zone at level 15? Level up in the appropriate zones for your level. Then when you reach 80, only traits and armor are important.
+ Guild Halls (This would also give a reason for people to launch GW2 more.)

+ New features unlock at level 80.When I reached 400 in cooking I was like ohhh yes. but nothing really changed, it was like as if I was just a 1/400 in cooking.
Guild Wars 2 needs to focus on more of a completion when you finish/accomplish something. (ex: reach level 80, 400 crafting , etc)
If Anet adds Inspect and Duel, it should be Free basic features.

I would like more emotions and a hud/list for them. So we don’t have to remember and type them.
Some of the interactive emotions between two characters may not work with GW2 game engine. Anet would have to tell us if it’s possible to do.
If it’s a on/off option in the setting. It should be off by default.
After the pre-event for Shadow Behemoth. Enemies spawn out 3 portals before the Shadow Behemoth spawns.
My suggestion is to make portals around the Shadow Behemoth last longer with much stronger enemies. So there’s more time/challenge between the pre-event and the Shadow Behemoth spawn. This will also give players doing the pre-events more time to get to the Shadow Behemoth.
Why are mounts seriously needed?
*It’s not for speed. So why is smaller cosmetic mounts not good?
*It removes a needed gold sink.
I disagree,
*Renown heart tasks should be harder and have more depth to them.
*no visual aids
*Individual tasks completed should reward their XP.
*More redoable tasks the effect DE"s.
*add Personal story instances to renown hearts.
*Renown hearts that can spawn small DE’s and bosses.
They don’t take 20 minutes to me.
But even if it were only 20 minutes, that’s less 20 minutes I have to actually play the game… I have limited time to play, let alone do chores in game. Know what I mean?
That depends on what dailies we have to get for the day.
I am on High pop server, but the game still feels kinda empty in certain zones. There’s almost everyday someone in Southsun, but as for Orr or some 15-25 lvl zones, they feel kinda dead. Sure, you might see person or two doing an event once in a while, but most of the time you’re just going solo.
My guess is that bunch of people left the game, I know since I had a small guild with 80 people, and nowadays I’m the only person that logs on almost on daily basis.
Where did all the people go? What drove them away, did they quit or is it just me?
Some high population servers may have a high inactive player base.
