So we’re ignoring Trait Stone Splinters (10% within 600 range), Strength of Stone (10% of tough->cond), Enduring Damage (+10% when endurance full, minor) and the +300 cond damage for going into in the earth line now?
As an Engineer I can say it is our best weapon against a necro. Have have already a really hard time against condi necros. If you nerfed this skill we lose 10 of 10 fights against a necro.
1v1 it’s very hard, but not impossible. Eng has loads of CC which necro is poor against. If you can manage to lock him down and blind/dodge the cond transfer/damage you can do it (NOT easy).
Full passive immunity is a bad way to design a trait to help with cond damage however. I’m in no way saying just remove the thing and don’t replace it with something else that helps Vs. conds… it should… and it should be strong… but it should have more active play to it.
Lol a condition Elementalist is the easiest thing to kill. We have very few conditions and even harder time applying them. By going 30 in Earth our Health pool is about 10k – 12k, and we almost never have full endurance. 10% damage, big freaking whoop. Instead of doing 300 damage they now do 330. Congrats.
Throw on Necro new Signet of Vampirism and watch that 300 life regen each hit the Ele does to you.

I don’t know about you guys, but condition PU Mesmer’s in WvW are a Non Bunker, Non 0 10 0 30 30 D/D Ele’s demise. If you kill the clones you instantly die.
Also you can only remove so many conditions so fast… Long cooldowns.
hey does anyone feel like the bonus chest should be once per character. with it being account wide i feel like my other characters are being wasted. i do a dungeon on one character get the bonus chest but if i do it on another character then it wont pop up. i don’t see how bad it would be if each character could run dungeon and get there own bonus chest i don’t see that as an exploit or to powerful if its only once per day on each char. i mean it does mean people who have more characters and have bought slots will have a slight advantage but it will give people more motivation to make a new character if its worth because now it really doesn’t seem so worth while too make more then one character. i feel like theirs no point in making more then one character if they cant each get a chest. any thoughts?
You must be relatively new… This change was more recent, old version gave bonus tokens per path per character. So players could essentially get 1 piece of armor (or a whole set depending on how many alts you had) in a day.
I’m just waiting to see how they nerf the Elementalist in this release.

Nope, you just get a crap-ton of spikes.
This x3… Seriously, I get like 3 spikes a kill. I sell so much “Junk items” that I make about 1g each play session just from it. But it explains why I am always broke. I salvage everything to try and get a better chance at items (magic find). So far, no luck, always get junk!
Can you please revert the nerf’s to Elementalist Ride the Lightning… Every class now has more mobility than Elementalist (except necromancer).

The only way an Elementalist can outrun or catch anyone is by using FGS and it is on a 180 second cooldown.
Someone just link the guy to the vid of the ele hitting 10k Lava Fonts and 20k Meteors, while “omg hb too strong” threads are always funny to read you really shouldn’t feed the trolls by responding to them.
20k Meteor shower with full might stack, full bloodlust stacks, sigil of force (or night depending) and using Tornado which is on an extra long cooldown. Goodgame, please play an Ele before you “link videos.”
Retaliation really only effects Glass cannon Elementalist… I melt myself with 1 Meteor shower / Lava Font.
Easy, 1500 Range, 5k damage Long Range Shots vs Glass Ele = 2 – 3 Arrows downed. Them pesky Rangers. Lol

i think that vertical progression hurts my gaming experience.
i feel forced doing dailies, world events, etc…because it s necessary to craft ascended, to avoid any “handicap” when playing with other better geared ppl.
don t care if it s relevant or not that stats difference in wvw o pve. just hate that.i loved to grind for a title. for skins. i felt really motivated and found it a free choice.
vertical progression binds me to a sense of inferiority, grind like a necessary work to be done for a mandatory aim.

Don’t feel bad, I will never have Ascended Weapons or Armor due to limited play time. However, over the last year I have finally gotten all ascended trinkets on ONE Character (except backpiece, it’s still Rare and not available via WvW)
The problem, if you run the paths to last boss and these a.holes kick the members because there are 2 of them, then throw up LFG Party Selling Path.

We have great defense as well. Just no evades blocks or stealth. The amount of bad in this thread is startling.

What? I think you exaggerate somewhat, max hp/s of a warrior is about 1200.
^ This. Your situation doesn’t make sense. I stalemate very few warriors, and I lose to none. Healing signet makes them quite OP for certain situations, but not like what you’re describing.
If a warrior is doing the 1200hp/sec build they will hit mediocre numbers and not be very mobile by warrior standards.
It may have been a shout heal build, but as a glass Elementalist, they still hit for 2.8k – 3k damage with auto-attack. But he killed me in 4 hits with just auto attack while regening / full healing (without using his heal). May have been shouts cause they do heal quite a bit. But like I said, even when a warrior traits / specs defensive, they can still dish out awesome damage.

The ele can casually just heal themselves and attack whilst the necro has to go full force against it.
I cannot take this video serious… 22 mins in he “tries” to drop ele below 90%… Not once does he us death shroud #4. Mindlessly spamming crappy attacks to try and lower 2k life, you sir have failed.
Also, everyone keeps mentioning ele passive healing, since when does ele have passive healing? Ele has to work for kills, using 20+ skills just to kill someone. Necro complaining you can no longer drop a few skills to win? Adapt, learn, it is what all us Ele’s do after people complain till Anet nerfs our class more. We have been nerfed in every aspect, and p.s. Diamond Skin is a joke unless you go full apothecary bunker/heal, even then, good luck killing anyone.

Today i had a terrible experience with an Engineer in WvW. This Engineer was spamming turrets like crazy; 4-5 turrents within seconds of each other; which i find very ridiculous to begin with.
To get to the point, i died; no surprise here. Engineer has come a long way from nothingness to something being and i believe, they still need some support buffs from Arena.net but at the moment, i feel they are near balanced.
I consider their turrets as pets and they can be very dangerous.. unlike the rangers
“pet”.The reason why i’m not “hating” the Engineer class is because they are the only top supportive class in the game, including their toys; which i find wonderfully well designed… alongside the Guardian class.
In fact, the design team who designed this class, deserves an award.
As i already stated, i am not asking for a nerf for the engineer class but to warn others to stay far aways from their toys..if you want to live.
This turret spam… Kill them in a few hits (or just run out of range) and the engineer is now locked out of all his utilities for at the least 20 – 60 seconds.

Hello. When my computer overheats my gw2 has a problem with loading screens. They take much longer than usual and once I get past the loading screen, all textures are invisible and it is very laggy for a good 2 mins. Due to this, I get kicked out as inactive and have gotten the dishonorable effect.. is there any way to remove this
If your overheating your computer for GW2, you have a worse problem than the Dishonorable effect… I run a laptop and do not overheat. Be sure to perform proper maintenance and ventilation on your computer and get a temp monitor… Check for bad parts and upgrade components as you can afford them. Best of luck!
I do not like the AP visible either… I play WvW and basically only WvW. I have over 5k APs and when I do run dungeons I get to listen to someone with 10k+ APs complain saying they know how to play better because their APs are higher… Seriously had to revive the guy and his guild mate 10x in row because they just tried to rush through and leave behind the lower levels in group. They then complained voted to kick me out of group right near end of dungeon and since they were 2 players from same guild vote worked. Saddest part, is I didn’t invite the 2nd guy, we had someone lose connection and the guy invited his guild mate without asking. When they kicked me, everyone got removed from dungeon since I was the creator.

Hey there ANet, if someone happens to look at this forum (the Elementalist section that is) some great suggestions have been thrown around for conjures. The best suggestion thus far would have to be the following…
1) Make conjures like Kits, able to go in and out as needed with separate cooldowns, like Engineers kits. (Leave FGS Elite the same as it is).
2) If Not making them like Kits then change the cooldown to something like 30 seconds instead of 60… Or at the very least make the charges a lot higher than 10. 25 Base, 50 traited?
3) New Conjures all together, for example… Summon Elemental Bow, Axe, Shield, Hammer, Greatsword…..
These conjures abilities are determined by the Attunement you reside in. If in Fire, Conjures cause Burning attacks, Water causes chill or torment, Air (Blind or vulnerability), Earth causes Bleeds or Cripples. This gives more use to condition builds.
- is pretty far fetched so I would really like to see something like #1, if not then possibly #2 as it is just a few number adjustments in your code and easily tested.

Deathpanel might not be able to win 1v1 with staff in wvw but i can. Haven’t tried it out after patch yet but before patch in full celestial and bunker I can win 1v1 roaming wvw solo, and no i am not talking about just taking out that are low rank.
Lol and then you woke up. Staff elementalists in wvw alone are free loot bags. Those in full celestial are even more helpless since in addition to having a bad 1v1 weapon you hit like a sponge. That fact that you try to deny this shows you are either outright lying, or just don’t know what you are talking about.
My 4k average lava font, 6k lightning surges, 5k ice spikes, 2k fireballs, 2-3k chain lightnings, 5k eruptions, and 8-12k meteors disagree. But thanks for coming to the forums.

Because it was decent in Beta and then they started smacking us around with the nerf bat and I guess they never got tired of it? I play my ele because it is what I like to do, always play a mage… Unfortunately GW2 “mage” hits like a sissy. And if geared for max damage, do less damage than a thief / warrior and die in 1 hit.
The current state of Diamond Skin makes it far too strong against condi classes. If you run Carrion or DIRE, forget about winning against an Elementalist using Diamond Skin. The main source of our DPS is all but gone, and it’s nearly impossible to get D/D and S/D elementalists below 90% HP with the tons of healing they have using power alone, depending on what class you play(Condi warriors should be fine). The trait should be redesigned to be similar to that of the Engi’s below 25% HP condi immunity trait, NOT above 90% HP. Then at the very least it would be more balanced in a 1v1 scenario yet provide eles with more toughness during zerg fights and small battles.
Have you even tried it??? I have, and it was near useless. Take 1.5k – 2k damage and tada game over. So even a non power necro with scepter 1 you can do ~500 damage an attack, so 3 – 4 attacks and the player is now affected by conditions. Or 1 hit from any profession that does 1k – 3k damage, tada now Diamond Skin is inactive.
You all know the skills have been data mined and are viewable for types on Reddit right?
In WvW they just knock you back and gives you a message… One enemy was so focused on it, he didn’t see the zerg of 20+ people running up to him. So when it knocked him down we all rolled him. Was to funny.

You all completely misunderstood the point of the post… It’s the ability to apply conditions while having stealth upwards of 20+ seconds without ever being revealed that is the problem… They can come in, drop AoE conditions and run out and keep stealth up and reapply conditions faster than condition removals come off of cooldowns without ever becoming revealed. It’s broken mechanic, physically attacking a player by using skills should cause revealed… I understand not being revealed if they already have conditions on you, but applying any new conditions that do damage should not allow them to stay invisible with no ways of fighting back besides running away until the thief gets tired of following you…. It is like fighting a necromancer who just constantly poisons, bleeds, blinds, etc while being 100% invisible indefinitely. Meanwhile you cannot out run stealthed players either, because even with swiftness moving you at 33% faster speeds, stealth at 50% faster speed = never out run, unless you play a warrior who just sword / gs away all the time.
@Doggie.3184, I can see the aoe rings correct, but I cannot fight back at a player I never get to see… If a player can cause damage while staying invisible 100% of time, you will never know where that player is, period.

I hate to be “that guy” but it has come to my attention where I thought players were hacking because they were attacking and not becoming “revealed.” Out of curiosity I logged onto my thief and started using stealth skills and then I spammed shortbow poison aoe, caltrops, etc to apply conditions on foes in area and noticed I can pretty much kill both players and monsters without becoming “revealed.” This is getting more and more popular in WvW and it is rather unfair… I can deal with most thieves even though they down my character in 2 – 3 hits. But this is enough, please make any damage the thieves do in stealth apply revealed. Spamming conditions from stealth should reveal them.

I see the logic in not wanting the two changes in this line to counter each other. Moving good adept traits to master level is contrary to reducing the need to spec into this line. That being said, Elemental Attunement is just a beast of a trait and could honestly be compared with most grandmaster traits. I think a good compromise would be to place Renewing Stamina back in the adept tier, placing is where the other professions get this type of trait, and instead move Final Shielding to the master tier where it could live alongside Arcane Retribution as two good choices in arcane builds that take Arcane Mastery in the adept tier. That could leave some interesting builds such as: 0/30/30/0/10 for fresh air, diamond skin, and renewing stamina. It also still leaves builds that put only 10 points in Arcana a chance to gain Protection by going 30 air for Tempest Defense, and 10 Earth for Elemental Shielding and still have 30 points leftover.I still believe there is work to be done at the grandmaster tier in Fire at the very minimum and that Air and Water are the only truly good grandmaster choice right now. There are also still a handful of just terrible traits that will still get looked at, but we felt like we were already bordering on changing too much.

Jon, if you happen to see this, please consider it or at the least have it tested… Fire Grandmaster trait, Pyromancers Puissance (spelling) Gain might on each spell cast in Fire… Lets face it, staff skills have a long recharge and barely get above 8 might stacks. However, if you were to make this trait more like the Engineers flamethrower trait where it would now be… “Gain might the longer you are attuned to Fire”. Just a suggestion I think would be worth some tests. Also, I am liking the idea of having a condition removal in Fire line, but the Cooldown of 40 Seconds is a bit much. If we decide to build into Fire we are already squishy and if you spit on us, we die. Perhaps a 30 second cooldown is more realistic. That way we take the chance of going squishier, and have to watch for conditions still, but don’t die instantly. Just a thought. Thanks for all these changes… I cannot wait!

If your read into the Dec 10th patch changes on Ele forum, Jon states that Renewing Stamina can be moved back it Adept and the Arcane Shield proc at 25% life will be moved to Master as a Compromise. Which is a great compromise.

He tried to spike me twice and when I got up with downed #3 he jumped out of the tower. And you all followed him around like lil sheep to QL and onward – shame on you.You should know who he is, because a lot of people followed him around.

Where are you in this picture? Because if you say you got up with vengeance, how did he try to spike you 2x? Did you run out of tower and vengeance back in? Because your screenshot just shows a Charr in tower and target isn’t a Charr., and you are inside tower, he is not… I however have pics of enemies running through walls, but get infracted if post them.
Edit: If you are the Charr, I want to be able to zoom that far out… Lol

Just killed a roaming thief of the [BLAM] guild on my staff ele who decided to use hacks in frustration. Luckily I got screen shot of the player. Your whole guild. Complete kitten.
Anet please fix the hacking. It’s getting really old.
Funny I made a post with a screenshot of Kain doing something like this last night, running through keep walls / gates to portal in and I got infracted. In the post I also included this same FC guy. But again, was infracted for posting about “other servers hacking” huzzah.
Tequatl still gets done on some servers and guesting is free. Anyone who insists on getting it done on their server is being stubborn.
The store down the block from where I live was out of milk. Now I have to go without milk. It’s a tragedy. Why doesn’t my store have milk….I mean I have to go to the next shop now, and that’s a couple of blocks away. Oh the pain.
Teq still gets done. The Karka Queen still gets done. You can join a server that does them both if you want…or you can post to the forums and never get your achievement.

On the topic of other boss redesigns, I’m pretty sure none of them will require the coordination of Tequatl. Anet does learn from these things, the way they learned from the original Karka event.

I wanted to play on my Server, and if it is only do-able by Guesting, then it is a failed event.
Logged on to an empty Tequatl… AGAIN, he has never been completed on my server… He looked so sad just standing there doing nothing as his timer counted down… Actually looked like he was in a cage.
Never ending cleanses from Guardians… Symbol + Whirl combo = Cleansing Bolts. Ele’s = Cleanses in water and on attune every 9 seconds if 30 arcane, Warrior cleansing shouts / cleansing ire / warhorn / massive healing and high regen. Now Mesmers also have AoE Condition cleanses with Mantra’s.
sPvP I can see how Conditions are great, cause you are not fighting 10 to 1 odds, ever. WvW that is a different story :’(
Thank you for the Condition Floaters, now I know exactly how bad my necromancer is versus Zergs… I can spend an entire fight dropping bleeds/poison/weakness/burning on my enemies, and only see 1 to 2 ticks thanks to all the condition cleanses. Guardian/Ele/Warriors/Mesmer all have AoE condition cleanses. I guess everyone has to go Direct Damage just to get some loot bags! Anyone want to send 100g my way for new gear… Lol (j/k about sending the gold part) but seriously, there is a reason Berserker gear is at 8g+ a piece on TP and condition gear barely hits 1g.
Im currently looking for an exotic or better backpiece with zerker stats, and also trying to get Ascended Earrings… I only play a little bit each week, if I even get to play. I have 8 characters, 5 level 80s. Only 1 of those has almost all exotics and a few ascended pieces (the first char and my main char since beta). I would love to get a legendary or ascended, yet I have seen 5 exotic drops in a year. Also, I find map completion to be tedious, to this day I have barely left WvW.
