Obsidian sanctum is no longer crowded cause all drops from players have been removed due to "suicide"farming. Which also removed any value from the Ultimate Dominator title as most players carrying this title got it by cheating (the system). Also the obsidian sanctum is no longer coupled to EBG. making it’s connection only the fact you can meet enemy players, which have been nerfed of loot.

a variety of knockbacks, knockdowns, dazes, stuns and so on… you could get some immobs maybe with skills that cripple… but I’d prefer this..

Many offensive builds don’t want to go or can’t support full glass. They’d like a little bit of toughness and vitality in addition to higher power, precision, and ferocity values. Those amounts vary by build and profession. For example, guardian and elementalist probably want more vitality than a warrior. The current amulet system doesn’t allow for that simplistic of a customization level, which is a huge shortcoming.

I had the idea of breaking the stats up into four components emulating but as a simplified accessory system which mirrors stat elements from the WvW/PvE stat system. If were looking for more customization & easier translation of play styles & builds between the 3 modes what do players think the system should look like?

Could the below design help or do we only want more fixed stats?

The Design – Four Components
The objective was to simulate & simplify elements of the WvW/PvE system through use of the accessory design providing familiarity. The elements are:

  • Amulet – Designed to reflect stats gained from weapons & armour in WvW/PvE.
  • Ring – Designed to reflect stats gained from rings & back item in WvW/PvE.
  • Earrings – Designed to reflect stats gained from earrings in WvW/PvE.
  • Back – Designed to reflect stats gained from the amulet in WvW/PvE.

Insta lvl 80, will need to do map anyways so I’ll learn it while speedrunning past the WP’s and HP’s of tyria, but I’ll focus on other classes first. No reason to start with rev for Maguuma Jungle, Might use it in Haloween & Mad king things though….

As you get 3 full trait lines now, till grandmaster each, it really doesn’t matter and you’ll just change complete trait lines when switching…
You are not (no longer) trying to fit in 70 (ancient system) or 14 points (old system) you now have 3 full trait lines. But can only switch between unlocked lines. You’ll have enough points to unlock all basic lines at lvl 80, you’ll need heropoints fot HoT specs….

In effect you have 18 points (90 in the ancient system) but you need to put ’m in 3 trait lines (mandatory)

This also means some older builds are no longer possible (e.g. 6/2/2/2/2 ele and such…)

Generally this isn’t a problem and the newer traits tendf to be a little mopre synergetic and thus more powerfull..

I’ll be honest:

I do not mind seeing WVW reset shifted to another day of the week at LAUNCH of HoT You have a fixed number of people probably all engaged in bug fixes and stuff, (Though I really, really hope it will be smooth sailing)

I undestand with all kinds of guilds going for guild halls first (also my WvW/PvX guild) there is room to do so.

BUT i think you should consider making the week last till friday and moving on from there. adn KEEPING it at friday.

Only ALTERNATIVE I SEE is when your brand new WvW map is really a swiss chease with people running past walls ovber exploits ionto castles and keeps and you need to fix things. In sucha a case I’d advise to shut the PPT counter down for the time it takes to fix it. and when it is fixed start at friday anew, losing any changes in the server rank system.

Then return to the basics and get everything back on track. Saturday is a bad move.

I like the staff it’s an improvement IMHO over Bifrost
I think the axe is nice, but I have no huryy making an axe.
I think an engineer with HOPE, predator and the Juggernaut would look nice and shiny

I think healing could be very worth while in instances , and in the open world, this will doend on the pressure ingame… we could get zerky groups with 1 or 2 healers and a little more tanky explorers…

The fact healing has been below par has several reasons.
1 if healing would out do dmg, this game would be broken. nobody would be killed in PvP and WvW
2 to increase the pseed of the game
3 because most mitigation DOESN’T COME FROM HEALING, but from blinds, aegis, reflection, weakness protection, invulnerability and dodges…
4 because healing consists of more then just a burst heal on #6, healing also is waters & finishers, cleansing, regeneration, and low hp heals from auto’s. Cleanses with a big wink to poison.

Attempts have been made to shift more healing from the base heals to the scaler so healing power as stat would attribute more, druid saw this implemented but -very carefully- if this proves to be a succes more of these conversions are likely.

Boon duration which saw a big nerf when it was removed from trait lines should be benefitted by scaling from healing as well. WE’ll see what will happen in Gw2 HoT.

Hmmm, new amulets. Aside from zealots, anything else you folks think would be interesting?

Zealot trinket set, Yes….
Also other sets which are missing. (Givers for example, utility amulets for example)

Inclusion of new(er) stats in backpacks, preferably also in older ascended backs like quivers/books/spinal blades, grenth, lyssa, balthazar,dwayna’s backs…. and other selectable pieces

I’d suggest:

Not my favorite option: Introduction of boon duration and condition DURATION in stat combinations…
Or
SUGGESTION:vIntroduction of healing/boon duration and condition dmg/condition duration AMULET infusions for both WVW and Fractals
Suggestions include:

Fitting in the system:

- Condition dmg/ toughness/power
- Condition dmg/ healing/power

- Condition dmg/ condition duration/ power <—- this one… with condition dmg as main. Using condition weapons and having power main is really really bad.

I’ll leave toughness and vitality based combo’s out of this list. Personally I’m not fond of using them… and when running with “expereinced” people I seldomly need them other then buffs from traits or banners.

Healing is still weak, the fact devs have looked into it after healing power was adressed for the n~th time is a good thing… requests to get boon duration from healing should be reworked if some of these stats would be introduced, or at least slightly corrected. to keep the boon duration on armor/gear a “worthwhile” investment.

Vitality main is the new Magic Find…. While everybody is working to keep dmg reduced and focussing on staying above 90% vitality Users cannot refil their 90% easily and their huge investment in HP leaves power and condition dmg below par.

Toughness could have some decent combo’s but I think you can find most toughness combo’s
a banner of defense, a guardians strength in numbers and optionally a potion of KARKA SLAYING creates ~320-470 point buff to armors instanly creating a HUGE load of tankyness.. at a relatively minor loss of DPS if any loss at all…

Most time : Celestial/WupWup’s

  • Timegated only 1 Charged Crystal a day… not available on the TP. you need 5 crystals for each weaponor armor piece, making a full celestial build generally 1 to 2 months of charging crystals, Which does give ample time to farm the base mats (quartz crystals) in dry top (you need 25 a day to charge them….. If you are lucky your home instance quartz node drops a charged one, never happened to me in either the zephyrite map, or dry top…

Most resources: Zealot/Keeper’s

  • 1st: recipe for EXOTIC insignia’s costs 140 gold, as you need these for both exotic AND ascended gear…. most recipe’s are cheaper, Heavy armor keeper’s recipe’s are more expensive then crafting an actual piece, generally making it cheaper to make a verata’s armor piece and convert it to Keepers with a Zealot insignia… Weapons are a kitteneaper… Yes, a bit (is a small amount) cheaper yes… Stupid cat system needs to breed kitens everywhere….
  • 2nd: Watchwork Mechanisms cost 14-15 gold each and you’ll need 6 for an armor and 1 for each weapon, closest second would be powerfull blood with 3-3.5 gold per Insignia/inscription…. which isn’t really comparable..

Berserker will be a very decent buff to S/S & LB warrior, going S/T & LB will be a very,VERY decent boost to DPS! (or in this case DOT)

4 blast finishers for own firefields (2 banners, banner #5 and skill #3 on LB),
FGJ and Signet of Rage,
Fury is needed for an added 150 condition dmg,
The Torch will provide 150 condition dmg,
Conditions applied will stack condition dmg
There could be discussion if sigil of bursting/ smoldering or corruption would be best
and crits will spread burning…

PBAOE fire fest…
Though only 2 cleanses will reset the stacks and it’s squishy.. with no self cleans….

ascended armor will run you around 1000 gold per set. If you have many characters you’ll need at least 3 sets light, medium, and heavy. Then, you’ll have to decide, berserker’? Rampagers? Knights? Sinister?

I’m not exactly sure how peple have the gold to do this. I’v played since launch and I don’t have anywhere near enough for even one se. I used to stress out because I couldnt afford a commander tag. Now we’ll be required to have ascended to survive?!?!? Grrr!!!

No 1000 gold per set? no not really…

If you have the crafting it will be more like
18 mandatory damask for the insignia’s

  • 18 x (14-20) gold for 212-360 gold base

and a variable number of damask

  • 18 for light (212-360 gold),
  • 6 for medium (84-120 gold)
  • 7 for heavy (98-140)

and either

Elonian leather (~5 gold )

  • (6 leather for light (30 gold),
  • 18 leather for medium (90 gold) or

Deldrimor Steel

  • (16 steel for heavy ~80-96 gold)

totals: (not counting exotic insignia’s)

  • Light will set you back 475-750 gold
  • Medium will set you back 384-570 gold
  • Heavy will set you back 390- 596

Damask has been stable at 14 gold for a LONG time , and will likely spike to 20, maybe even it’s original starting price of around 25 gold/ bolt (hope not), BUT fractal levels could cause a reduced cost due to good amounts of gear dropping… from levels above 50

(level 50 currectly has a 12% chance for an ascneded chest, with either a weapon of gear. This will likely be higher ABOVE lvl 50 fractals (though expected AR ratings could be a problem 50-59:70AR, 60-69:85AR, 70-79:100 AR,80-89:115 AR.90-99:130 AR, 100: 145AR Though likely the fractals mastery track will give support here, I can imagine me having 100 AR, but 145 seems a LONG road…) To get there we’ll need to invest in ascended gear no matter what….

WvW and the Heart of Thorns Release

Hello All,

There are a couple of reasons for the change to reset time. One is for the overall quality of the game. The last few years we have been careful to not disrupt the WvW reset time but this has at times made it difficult for our team to address issues during reset day. This change will give our team an extra day of the week that they can use to respond to issues that may occur with WvW or any other area of the game if it is necessary. In the early days we wanted reset to be during a weekday to ensure we had people available to monitor the game at reset time, but at this point we have seen the ongoing stability of World vs. World and resetting on a weekday is no longer necessary.

Another reason is the emergent gameplay that has come from reset. It has become one of the most exciting times for WvW and we would really love for more players to have the opportunity to experience it. We have many more players logging in on Saturday than on Friday which means with this change many more people will be available to experience the rush of claiming objectives for their world during reset.

However, given the concerns posted here we will be moving the Saturday reset to earlier in the day to give most players the majority of the day to enjoy the start of the new match. Immediately after launch the new time will be 11am PDT / 2pm EDT (6 pm UTC) for NA and 11am BST / 12 pm CEST (10 am UTC) for EU. Keep in mind that the following week with the end of Daylight Savings Time / Summer Time the reset times will be pushed even earlier to 10am PST/ 1pm EST and 10am GMT / 11am CET.

Thank you for your feedback. We realize that no time we pick is going to work for everyone but this change is going to benefit even more players overall while at the same time giving us a little more breathing room to improve the quality of the game during the week.

The small shift DOESN’T CUT IT!

IT STILL REMOVES AN EVENING! LEAVING LESS TIME to experience the first days of a new week.. Showing you directly this motivation is flawed! RESET is a chaotic day, a lot of the community guilds and wvw guilds made agreements on who could play at what time to make sure coverage was highest and people could get in, this goes VERY much for servers from t1 down to t5 in europe, though even servers low as t7 and 8 have basic agreements…….

Where are you going to put the people now playing in the 3 days most interesting days???
They want to play RESET now they’ll have 1 alternative evening and in some cases NO EVENING AT ALL !?! People will fight in communities for space on the servers…
More so even if a BIGGER part of the community will press for time on a reset on a day where MORE people are active
I doubt this will turn out to be a constructive change to WVW.

At the moment we have 3 days to play in the weekend (I’m in CET timezone, reset at 20:00 on friday) We have 4 full WvW maps. All weekend long from 16:00-23:00 . Even if you allowed 120 player /side instead of 80 now the new maps you’d still remove 200 places for evening gaming during the weekend. Most player play for HOURS at a time, not just to get a daily. Having to requeue will be a really bad experience again with long queues during saturdays and likely sundays, where atm sundays and saturdays are relatively accessible…

If a-net expects people to return with HoT (and they will); some, maybe many will take up WvW (again) and when a-net forces others to do content in WvW servers will make WvW maps horridly crowded during the soon to be 2 reset evenings.

Saying well as friday doesn’t matter’s anymore people can farm then would be a big kick in the face of the community, as is removing a full night of captivating gameplay in the weekend…

The first 3-4 days are the most interesting, only a few fights will last longer on a new week’s matchup. Leaving the last days for some training and some farming but in the end not for any interesting play from a PPT view, which is in the end the ONLY reason where WVW revolves around. Yes scrims, GvG are nice… for some and I doubt night capping vs only t3 objectives for hours in a row will be interesting…

I think it’s an unwise, unwelcome and unneccesary decision to shift reset wich is unthoughtfull, and unintelligent, even with all your theories it shows no affinity with the -present- WvW playerbase .

And this small “gesture” feels like: Oh sorry for steamrolling over you, here’s a bandaid. In this case where the WvW patient was misdiagnosed in the first place, and directly afterward in need of Intensive Care… A-net might not have killed their patient outright… but will at least cause major complications… For some members incurable and possibly fatal.

I still vote for fridays!

Weakness removes all enemy crits and gives all hits 50% chance of half dmg…

Don’t think this is true. I believe glancing blow removes chance of crit but weakness only gives you a 50% chance of getting a glancing blow. As such, you can still critically hit someone for huge dps/ get hit by huge dps with weakness on if rng esus is on your side.

ready for their elite spec:

Well….

I will stay PUG user forever. I might run some 10-man dungeons… Ehhmm…. Yah RAIDs with some guilds and then I well I’ll go back to pugging…Like I pugged through fractals like I’ll pug through anything.

As log as people know what to do and have gear it should be manageable. even without COMMUNICATIONs…. If not, it’ll be agrave mistake. ALso as people can figure out a raid leg in a beta weekend, not with perfect gear, then it should be possible to do this… with people knowing the game and good gear.

Don’t think of other players as hostile. Some can be, but not all and that’s not the point.
Elitism is certainly not the reason ArenaNet decided to nerf dungeon rewards.

When developers talk about breaking the meta, they are not condemning the players for creating it. They are trying to make new content that will be a new experience and a new challenge for those same players.

So think of it like:
“Good job, now see if you can beat THIS!”

It’s not meant as a form of punishment to crack down on elitism. The creation of challenging content is meant to reward players who have developed their skills with new content better suited for them. The phasing out of old content rewards is to remove the motivation to ignore the new content because of easier rewards in the old content.

Except they basically said " you guys are making too much money over there – we’re taking it away" – and I understand why.
Now mark my words – the new content will not be as rewarding as dungeons per amount of time spent – so essentially this is a farm nerf veiled as “we want to motivate you to do our newer content” – which will most likely have less rewards than the old dungeons.

I dont see the difference. If dungeons were giving more gold than new content people wouldnt even need to do the new stuff besides running it for a week for achievements. Its definitely a farm nerf, but its also moving ppl to new content. No reason it cant be both.

Also technically fractals are not new content, unless there is a new fractal or two thrown in, but even then only like 2/15 of them will be new (here’s to hoping there are new ones soon!)

Except there’s already huge incentive to do the new content because legendary armor.

Maybe…. though I really really wonder If everybody will do fractals 50+ how much need there wil be for legendary armors as I’ll be swimming in boxes….. (Well at least I hope so…)

I’m at 38 armor pieces (zealot/sinister/zerk…) and 70 weapons atm… I noted I have 20+ zerk and 20+ sinister weapons and 10+ zealot, a few rabids/clerics/celestial ones… I also have 30 sets of trinkets ( and 20-22 ascneded backpieces) in use…

Maybe the crafted ascendeds will die out….And we will survive and just gear out alts with fractal boxes…/ gear from raids…. And we will no longer need money except to buy food and legendaries… Oh wait…. they will no longer be tradable……yeah….

And it’s still dungeons, I doubt though it will b nice running an 80, 90 and 100lvl fractal a day… and get well 1 gold 40, 1 gold 45 and 1 gold 50….

And how does it work blasting a water area for heal? Is valuable heal or what? I never understood this and how does it work with healng power?

  • Water+ Blast: Area Healing
    Healing: 1,320 base + (0.2*healing power)
  • Water+ Leap: Healing
    Healing: 1,300 base + (0.5*healing power)
  • Water+ Projectile: Regeneration
    Gain health every second; stacks duration. Regeneration (2s): 260 health
  • Water+ Whirl Healing Bolts
    Gain health every second; stacks duration. Regeneration (2s): 260 health

Depending whether the field is once or pulsing , the blast can be ok or very powerfull….

Per pulse healing rain, and healing spring can be blasted once… BUT they will pulse for several seconds allowing even a NOT so well healing person to add a significat blast healing… 1320*5 is still 6600 healing… even with NO healing at all.

But to the bad side of this: it can also be not so much as you would wish with a lot of healing power, If you have 2000 healing power maximum gain would be 1720 per blast

Healing is most effective when you are able to counter most of the DPS by using

  • perma regen (ranger, warrior (traited banner of tactics is very nice for perma regen),
  • perma weakness (Necro?) and
  • reflects whenever possible (mesmer/guardian)
  • projectile blocks when reflects are not possible (ranger, thief, necro, ele?)
    And preferably have some mitigation through armor/or potions (-10% dmg will be very nice)

Also some passives:

  • soothing mist
  • virtue of resolve
  • Inspiring banners
  • And -any- other sources of regen or healing over time
  • Vampiric aura is underestimated 35 for each hit will fo a long way when fighting a big health boss..

as a group will make up some decent healing.

Well again, you’re leaving out the most important one; protection

Regen is nice but hard to get really high without serious damage sacrifices
Weakness is nice but unreliable (If you’re willing to give up your utility buff, you can easily get perma weakness with any class tho).

Going to hit it again, Protection is the most important healing buff in the game, hands down.

Protection reduces 33% dmg… Weakness removes all enemy crits and gives all hits 50% chance of half dmg…

for an enemy with 50% crit chance and 200% (avg 150% dmgs of standard) critical dmg it’s around 50% dmg reduction….. (from 150-75%)
even with 50% crit chance and at 150% critical dmg it is still 40% dmg reduction.
from 125% to 75%
If the enemy never crits dmg will go down from 25%
from 100% to 75%

Weakness and protection together will reduce any dmg to 50% of “normal hits” not being crits. but only when weakness is in place, else you’ll just negate 33% of a 200% attack or a 150% attack respectively for 133% or 100% of normal at crit.at normal non critting you’d be at 67 % the only area where protection would outshine weakness… :
basic hits.

They should be looked upon as a team… not a discussion which of the 2 is most powerfull. And I’m at fault for not looking aty protection, As a necro player I should be considering the team, though weakness is relatively easy to come by as a necro and protection is only available when using wells..

I have 15 characters with 189/189 HP

just geetting all HP and WP takes me about 2-3 days depoending on the amount of playing done beofre, My engineer at 2% map completion was “unlocked” in 3 days…. it’s now at 52% hand has all in map waypoints and heropoints, except for the cities, Couldn’t bring myself to run the cities AGAIN…

Of course I have 9 times map completion and 6 times this 189/189 & 486/486 So I ‘me resonably expereicned in finding all WP’s and HP’s

Just take a speedboost/ banner/ or any other way you can gain speed (signets?) and run a cirle around the map , then one in the center, should be enough for most. And If in oor , just do the complete maps. Drops for the maps (Orr and frostgorge, except forstgorge needs some hearts) tend to be nice.

WvW and the Heart of Thorns Release

Friday is now an interesting day to play, many WvW guilds have active days on fridays and saturdays and have guilds missions on sundays or later in the week.

I will foretell this willmake fridays useless, and saturdays useless untill reset and guild mssions on sundays no longer possible. Also ALL WVW Guilds will want a spot on SATURDAY (reset evening) and SUNDAYS instead of having guilds spread around on 3 days. Communities will fight and bicker and you’ll have istantly created the MOST TOXIC ENVIRONMENT IN THIS GAME BY NOT USING YOUR BRAINS WHILE THINKING…

WvW is a game within the game, 90% of the WVW-ers I know do some dungeons (to-be nerfed) OR some PvP (which are mostly roamers, and the new WvW maps really are not roamer friendly) and -HATE- PvE in all it’s facets. We have seen this -HATE- voiced back at A-net in stupid implementations of PvE in WVW and PvE minded WvW concoctions (like the golem weekend which was stupid to the maximum of stupidity and far, FAR beyond…)

Why would it make fridays and saturdays useless? Because all servers have their main groups active during the weekend an week, most even have 24/7 activity and there will be little shifts, if all during fridays and saturdays. During the week most servers get ahead 20-100k and this will be nearly to fully incorrectable…. Leaving the servers just to run circles on the map and turning WvW into EotM karma train. Destroying the weekend and thus the fun for MANY WvW players… It will not open the community to PvE players (but just more EotM-like farm, do you really think if wvw stacks are gone it will make stuff better for people coming in with little or no experience? I suggest a brain check if you do) and it will destory it for WvW players creating a VOID.

I STRONGLY URGE ARENA-NET TO RECONSIDER!!

You should be working to expand on experiences not destroy them….

If you could just kill 1 critter and move on for a more then 50% reward the fact you could do so many more rewards would make tag and bail interesting… It would also give problems… due to people nearly instantly leaving single events and just stacking on big events upscaling it all to champs.

I understand for a big part why dungeons are being cut on rewards. Nerfed say some.

But I do not understand why the focus will shift to Fractals, which is in fact a trinity of mini-DUNGEONS and RAIDs , which are like DUNGEONS:
INSTANCED CONTENT with a MECHANIC which will be cracked and broken like fractals AND dungeons. In case of raids only with a few more people.
As with dungeons:
There will be a META for RAIDS, and like in dungeons it will be enforced by players, either because they think they will not suceed if they do not, or just because what they think is a fact. Due to the “way this RAID-dungeon was spoonfed to the elitist” this will be:
Get a group, content has been done by **** (full in guild name) by party of X types of Y class and so on and it will be used to mold people(‘s build/ armor/traits) in the “NEW META”, PING or KICK. If this doesn’t need to be done and anyone can run it it is not challenging content.

This doesn’t solve the former dungeon problems about “elitist” -soon-to-be-former?- zerkers.
Also I do not think the content will be “exploit” proof. Someone will figure out how to bug/ cheat or otherwise mold this content into a preset communcable frame and then what: it’ll be broken as dungeons have been broken before. Like fractals have stacking META and META builds/setups at this moment, yes for each fractal but still.

Shifting from Meta dungeons to META FRACTALS AND META RAIDS.

I do think some gold shift would be in place…
Having Fractals pay 1-1.25 gold/ run is unrewarding, and having Arah pay 3 gold is quite a lot.
But then again I have done a “easy” selection of Farctals in 35 minutes.
And I’ve done other dungeons (Cof 1,2 Se 1 ,3 and more) in 15min…

I’d say fractals should be rewarding 2 gold, and if it’s 1 gold 50 +25s per 10 levels I’m perfectly happy. I’d accept a reward of 74 silver from a dungeon path as well… at least for most, maybe 50 cents more for AC and 1 gold more for Arah.

But it will not change the fact ther will be a Meta and this Meta will travel to other content and manifest itself more firmly then ever before. Which IMHO ISN’t neccesarily the best development.

I’m basically annoyed by all the time-gated stuff in the game there should be a better solution for making these items hard/harder to get Time gating is not the solution its just an annoyance. Some people like me also have work and rather spend there free time on stuff they find fun and not waiting around to have my fun (i need more agony on different armor classes hence why i want to make more pieces)

I don’t think people are getting this, i think its quite stupid you have to do a very annoying work around which cost even more time ( I don’t feel like getting the bandit crest i’m a wvw roamer/pvper i don’t enjoy pve that much besides fractals and CoE).

Only charged queartz is timgated, for most other materials it’s a tiny bit more expensive to pass the timegate, then actually frustring yourself .

They’ll be removing the dungeon tokens from the legendaries and replace ’m with something new.

PvP tracks gave acces to these dungeon tokens as well.

Why nerf the only thing I like to get some cash from?

ANET:
You need to do fractals!
You need to do raids!
You need to do nice new minigames in HoT!

Me:
- I hate daily activities. I hate them to a point I’m glad I get into one just before the timer runs out so I can leave it in a dozen seconds with my chest.
- I bought this because it’s an MMORPG, I respect some people want other things
- I like exploration of maps, sightseeing…. I have 32 map parts now will get 4 new ones, yes in 3 layers…, 12…..layers… It took me 3 years to get 20 characters to lv 80 and gear ‘m and 15 characters to all hearo points and waypoints,
- I like dungeons and some team effort with a low respawn being able to do content daily. I do ’m with pugs in open runs, with zerk meta’s in speed runs… I do not care.
- I did dungeons DAILY for the past 2.5 years.
- I like to progress and I like to be doing what I want, not what the designer thinks I want. It’s also a reason why I like to play stuf ff cause I can relax doing what I want.
- I like people to live up to promises made. You can play however you want… Poeple seem to have forgotten…

I do -not- give a F about content with mandatory end game gear with coordinated groups of 10 people of whom nobody can fail with the punishment of:
A not getting loot
B not getting progression in a soon te be mandatory track
C not having acces to gear or skins due to it not being available from other sources.
(you can get the dungeon skins from PvP, I have epilepsy I seize up every 15 minutes. In PvP I’m useless to a team, in dungeons I get killed often by losing my consiousness for a couple of second, but I NEED TO DO RAIDS alse you cannot be part of the group no more. The raid will screw over 10 people who will have their content reset, If I spaz. In dungeons I sometimes just stand somewhere and die. People wonder why or are guildies and wait for me to either respawn or in some cases I have a buddy and I get ressed (often guildies link me to a warrior)
Why can’t you just make some dungeons and continue one of the facets of the game.

A-Net :
Because we have an economics man who says we cannot. Economics is the point… Mostly in RL but ingame it’s important as well.

Me:
I know your economics will dry up if people need to wait a week for new runs.
And fractals is nice, but I’ve seen ‘m. Been there done that. now we do not only need to repeat them 50 times … NO We need to repeat ’m indefinately the exploits and mechanics of fractals are as stiff and cluncky as dungeons. there is no actual difference. Most people only run dungeonsnowadays to get lvl 80 rares and exotics for forging and ecto’s… Yes, ok ? I do all other content for the SAME REASON. and I get some gold, not 10 gold or 100 gold. Just 1-3 gold /path… each path takles me as long as a fractal, not the fractal RUN, but a fractal… unless it’s Arah, I suck at Arah…

Maybe you should merge fractals and dungeons…. and put the raids in fractals as well

In the end it’s all instanced content.

As for the raid, : It will be broken, I do not know when but some guy will notice something and it will be “Return to Arah”… cause it’s fubar-ed somewhere….
If not for this path for one or more of the others.

I’m deer in PvP I do not care to go higher. I aksed a few peopel to carry me just for fun and for a deer finsiher. They had a good laugh I actually won some. I do not care for PvP, I play some WVW. I like it. Don’t care for PvP 1 vs1 I don’t even put in any effort. when I run with my staff ele back to my zerg and I get duo ganked by thieves or PU mesmers I run on I do not care If they are persistant I just stop and give them the kill wehy bother . If they think they’re hot: Well let them! It’s their fun. I do not care. I’m a guild player or a group player in WvW. I do not roam anymore. I tried it and had some fun with a PU 2 years ago, and it’s done and gone.

Burning

Interesting fact before the patch 1 stack of burning did 350+ dmg/. tick I had my condi mesmer doing burning: 1 stack of over 1100 dmg/ tick… easily…

And you do not have a clue what full condi is.
My warrior is at 2900 condition dmg when fully buffed.
My mesmer has a base condition dmg of 2100…
My burning ranger starts at 1500 and gets 900 added (25 might with axe and 150 from torch… for 2400 condition dmg….
and so on.
My burning guard will do 1800 condition dmg with +20% druation and +20% added dmg from burning.

Problem is not the scaling of the dmg but the people who eat the dmg. condition cleanses whirls or projectiles in light fields , minus condition duration food, or cleaning runes or reduction runes will go a long way to mitigate dmg.

Guardian has ONLY burning… cleaning it is just having 1 or 2 condition sklills and a fast hand
Ranger roughly the same though I tend to IMMO people on the spot before spiking.
Mesmer is a pain but burning lasts only 2 seconds , maybe 3….
Warrior can stack decent burning if poeple ignore the fire aura.

You do not need to use laurels anymore to unlock ascended recipe’s after the 1st set is unlocked (for each weight).

you can craft any other sets just by using your old recipe’s and paying a few spirit shards and 5 ecto and your exotic insignia to change stats It will save you the wait,.

but in effect both should have roughly these numbers when stacked and fighting.:
1st giver 2nd sinister.
power 2650 3000
condi 2550 2800
duration 65% 20% (effectively due to duration reduction) (oh, bleeds get +33%)
swrd/hit 1000 1100 (auto)
final trust 4k 4.5k

both will use fire aura, have (perma) regen from banners, and their signets, signet can be used for resistance if you would think of it. but I thik it would be a LOS battle with LB’s and the first pin down will likely win..

This also shows you why a lack in one field can be decisive. The few HP from givers will not win the battle, but coupled to the difference in condition duratio It will be a decisive difference. power difference will not matter either.

If you’d take warhorns instead off offhand sword and mending, and lose fgj for shake it off this would be a very long battle…. VERY long… provided you do not get below 50%

Well pax, now tell me what equip do you use.

While waiting i will answer your questions

1) you need condition damage, and some builds needs precision too. you got an extra free secondary stats ( usually toughness ) which makes you tanky. Zerk can’t
2) There’s no equipment for condition duration. Nice try btw, but we were talking about stats ( vitality ) and there’s no1 with condition duration stats ( some uses the generic sigil ).
3) you need time as zerk needs more time to kill you tanky player. while your damage is not reduced by anything. Maybe the new boon will be good against conditions but hell, im not that sure.

I use
Conditions (7):
- sinister on 5 characters (mostly PvE)(grd,war,rng,nec,msm)
- rabid on 2(WvW), (nec,rng)
Support (5):
- zealot on 4 (PvE,WvW) (ele, war,nec,grd) with zerk trinkets in pve and clerics in wvw.
- nomads and clerics (WvW build) (grd)
Power (5):
- zerk on the others (dungeons/fractals/pve) (war,ele,msm,rng,thf)
and I use my engineer as mule atm.


Gear is more then just the basic stats alone. I consider my runes and sigils part of my gear, and while food and utility are consumables they will fit in a build. as do trait selections.


And trust me you can use stats: giver’s weapons.
20% condition duration for 2h weapon
10% for 1 handed.
I can get builds up to 1600-1700 condition dmg… then 20% from weapon and 10% from sigil and 6% to compensate some condi dmg lost with bursting will outweigh 250 condition dmg yes… cause it will be more powerfull with givers if given time… if I can keep the duration higher: the pressure will be higher… and I’ll have some freedom to change stuff… (WvW…)


Understand:
Zerk (Burst) is powerfull against squishy targets,
Conditions should be used to counter highly armored enemies including condi builds…

  • fighting a dire condi build is easier on any condi build
  • fighting a soldiers build is easier on any condi build
  • fighting a sinister/rampager/carrion build is easier on a zerk (burst) build (armor is -no- help
  • fighting a zerk/assassin build is easier on a zerk (burst) build (though some armor can be of help.)

Vitality should also give a little % of condition damage resist.

edit: or at least ofc, some fixes to zerk or condition mechanics. zerk needs 3 stats to works. condition 1 or 2.

conditions will need 3 stats and food else it will be useless..

  • 1st you’ll need condition dmg (and preferably precision as many apply on crit) to do dmg, no stacks is no pressure….. and cleanses will remove stacks.
  • 2nd you’ll need condition duration (most likely in the form of:
    - runes (10-45%),
    - sigils (10-20%),
    - build (25-33%),
    - utility (10%),
    - food (40%))
    No duration makes continues pressure a problem
  • 3rd you’ll need TIME remember conditions are damage over TIME… and to make sure you are alive to see the results of your conditions tends to be nice
    you can use a variety of options: Toughness, (and maybe Vitality or Healing), you can reduce time needs by using Power…. but you’ll be glass (most likely) if you do. the chane you’ll be using might and be using might boosting runes will be bigger as well…

If you fear conditions that much maybe look into :

TRAITS:

  • removal of conditions on dodge,
  • removal on skill (type) use
  • immunity (mostly conditional) (obsidian flesh?)

BUFF

  • Resistance

FOOD:

  • Bowl of Lemongrass and Poultry soup (expensive)
  • Bowl of Poultry and Leek Soup (fairly cheap)
  • Loaf of Saffron Bread (really cheap)
  • Sweet Bean Buns (extremely expensive)
  • Bowl of Saffron-scented Poultry Soup (no experience)

SIGILS

  • Generosity
  • Cleansing
  • Purity

RUNES of

  • resistance
  • hoelbrak
  • melandru
  • antitoxin
  • sunless
  • soldier

Condi cleansing:
And a build having decent acces to condition removals or in case of runes of the soldier: Shouts (warrior, guardian, ranger, tempest)

Field Combos
You could use projectile or whirl finishers in a light field…

And that’s about it. You can become very immune to conditions with a lot of classes

Regarding Stats:

Armor and toughness have no use vs condition dmg

Vitality really doesn’t work as well except give you a few additional ticks if you’re lucky (though some builds can stack 4-8k damage per tick in 2 or 3 seconds leaing you with 2 or 3 seconds to counter. But going full sentinels with runes of the soldier is likely a bit overkill…

Healing cannot remove condition (well sometimes it actually can with food or certain heal skils like consume conditions (necro) but poison will deminish healing and the time to cast the ability could kill you.

Regen however will offset a small amount of bleeds or poison, (also from healing signet, adrenal health, virtue of resolve, signet of the wild, soothing mist) but it will not cure them.

Warrior elite spec will most likely not be meta.

Depends, I think it will not either, but iof you need -condition dmg- with a warrior it will be required… I’m sure.

% outgoing healing gear

You can boost outgoing healing on some proffesions already by a SIGNIFCANT boost:

- Runes of the monk (175 healing, +10% healing to allies (15% boon duration))
- Sigil of benevolence (
12.5% healing to allies
- Delicous riceballs (+100 healing +10% healing to allies)

- Guardian has Force of Will each 100 vitality you’ll have will give 1% allied healing (you have 1000 base and you’ll get 300 vitality from this trait for a +13% base allied healing…)
- Aquatic Benevolence o eledoes a flat +15% healing to allies
- Druid has natural healing get stacks (6s) for eacht heal on ally, max 10 stacks (max 20%)
- Revenant: Invoking harmony (
20% when switching legends), and serene rejuvination (+15%) ad tranquil balance when above 75% health +20%

Say most are around 15% the allied healing would be
1.1×1.125×1.1x1.15 = 1.6125? for around 61% added healing permanently on ALLIES

ALLIES =/= SELF!!

I’d still like boon duration to scale on healing 2% for each 100 healing. We’ll see.
