What it sounds like you really want OP is the ability to keep people or yourself up with a spammable heal while you look at health bars the whole time. GW2 isn’t that game nor should it ever be. Run Zealot’s or the equivalent. Be a healer while at the same time being an asset to your team with decent damage to boot.

Zealot is nice but you will not have much sustain. also the trinkets seem to be missing still, especially for the group nopt reallyt interested in RAIDS

The personal housing or Home instance….

Home instances are

  • Salma’s District, (human, Divinity’s Reach)
  • Dreamer’s Terrace, (sylvari, The Grove)
  • Hunter’s Hearth (norn, Hoelbrak)
  • Hero’s Canton (charr, Black Citadel)
  • Applied Development Lab (asura, Rata Sum)
    You can mine in any city, whcih also counts for relevant dailies (daily miner/gatherer/logger), all home instances are unlocked at the same time but mining in 1 instance will lock the mining points in all 5 cities for the remainder of the day until reset.

A-Net has provided some ingame nodes providing

  • sprockets,
  • quartz,
  • candy corn,
  • a skill point,
  • aurillium,
  • and a Christmas tree…
    available from storylines long past & rewards for story/event completion, some are available from aurel vendors.

Mining nodes though the Black Lion Chests

  • mithril, orichalcum,platinum, (t4,5,6)
  • hard wood elder wood, ancient wood,(t4,5,6)
  • different herbs/veggies (snow- and orrian truffles, saffron, ghost pepper,omnomberry and more)(t6)
    nodes sell on bltp for 100-350+ gold max/1 per unique type/ home instance

Basic harvesting nodes (Gemshop)

  • a copper, silver and gold mining point
  • a green wood, soft wood, seasoned wood node
  • a basic cloth rack (~3-4 jute, wool and occasionally a cotton scrap)
  • 3 low tier herb/veggie nodes
    Nodes are available via gems in gem shop

You can get easy acces to your home instance using a Home portal stone (gem shop). All nodes are minable ONCE A DAY not influenced by the amount of characters you posses.

You can get a node from HoT too, I forget the name, I think its for doing all achievements in AB.

Yes, the Aurillium one.

yes it is. vitality seems important due to creating a large healthpool and seems o allow fr more dmg absorbtion, but

1 DPS is negated by toughness therefore tougness already creates a bigger -virtual- healthpool, Due to dmg being reduced, it becomes healable, protection allows for far more “virtual health” as long as you can keep the boon up and it isn’t coprrupted or stolen (which will likely kill you if you are dependant on it’s reduction in damage during a certain portion of an engagement with enemy forces).
2 conditions ignore toughness 100% so vitality seems relevant here, but you’ll not be able to outheal conditions, poison destroys healing (healing is 33% less effective) removing your abilty to fill your huge heathpool (best heals heal ~13,5k, biggest possibe HP ingame (sentinel warrior) has ~35k HP, with poison you will heal only 9k with the best heal ingame….
Secondly health gain is useless while being drained by bleeds, terror, chill, torment, poison and burning as no healing will compensate for a real condi burst….

So I’d urge you:
A) Make sure you can kill stuff, 1000 power and 0 condi dmg doesn’t help
B) Make sure you can remove conditions ASAP, especially Poison as it will impair you as healer, it will also remove the need for a seemingly powerfull, but mostly useless healthpool, allowing for either power or other buffs
C) Boon duration will provide many buffs indirectly also including regeneration being a substantial buff to any healing build,but also providing buffs to retailiaion, swiftness, might, protection, stablity and so on.

So a combination of Minstrels and Clerics might be quite usefull in the end. and I repeat, without condi cleanses and without a way to provide some dmg you’ll essentially do not exist on the battlefield.

Also remember: with a PS Warrior,who could buff you +1000 power, even a build with 1500 power would remain a viable contender in the thick of battle…. and a minstrel/clerics could attain this easily…

Minstrel incorporates vitality as well…

problem might have been the fact dungeons could be “sped-up” but this was simply a result of giving ppl dungeon food + 10%, dungeon sigils + 10%, night or force sigils and builds building on syergizing buffs (with Zerk PS EA GS War/Zerker as summit, providing 1000+ power, 900+ condition dmg, (2)6+ % precision, +6 % Critical dmg…. and ALL AOE in 1 single player package ….)

This combined with perfect skips, using thieves or mesmers, and Full DPS support builds (perma blinds, perma weakness, perma protection and quickness, and max vulnerability…..) created an environment where dungeon paths could be ran with 33% max of incoming dmg when you failed a dodge and ~150% more dmg outgoing the anticipated.

(stacked dmg + 25% dmg from warrior buffs,+25% from vulnerability, 50% more critical hits, +33% from foods and sigils, and of course and inate knowledge mostly regarding paths, safe spots, mechanics and so on.)

This set of remarks doesn’t even adress exploits and dungeon bugging. cause there have been so many ways of being safe, being outside mechanics/ spawns of alt spawns or just dmg removal…. which have been reported, and sometimes fixed, but sometimes blatantly ignored.

Still a reinstatement of some reards would be welcomed, as it was a big part of the community whcih really enjoyed dungeons. Some of the ppl shifted to fractals, and continue the same methods there.

Chronomancers, PS EA warriors, facetank guardians, AOE Nuking Ele’s, vampiric necro’s will continue to smile at bosses with so much health, it’s no longer a healthpool but just a statistic and kill him for just more statistics.

well vitality is pretty useless, as your survivability should come via condition cleansing not through a huge healthpool, toughness will mitigate some dmg, protection way more.

More healing then e.g. Clerics will never happen as it is main stat healing. the end.

The best way to continue is delicious riceballs, sigil of transference, runes of the monk or benevolence(like) traits for AOE heals, (being healer) or things like mango-saffron icecream and potions of karka toughness and soldiers runes for self (if you’re trying to be a tank whcih is mostl;y useless) for tank purposes which are generally unwanted and unneeded and I’ll be frank Minstrel will likely be more effective then Clerics or nomads here, as your dependency on boons will rise.

wanting more is only possible trough runing/sigils and getting the perfect food combo for your purpose

BTW the healer/booner build posted above can keep[ glass buil;d alive vs high level bosses by reducing dmg and refiling 100(0)‘s of HP’s a sec.

If you wat more distance and be a healer, you’d enter the realm of full spec water (healing) ele’s either zealot/zerk (or cleric) (glass, semi tanky), celestial (semi tanky) or full minstrel/clerics (well pretty tanky.)

Problem with nomads and minstrel only (as far as possible) is the fact they can be killed but have no damage potential of their own, so in the end wth these builds you can kill nobody, maybe just support a bit, but you -will- die through pressure (mostly condi burn) eventually, showing again the potential of condi cleanses with these stats.

Ofcourse

  • (Dual) Staff Druid (or variants) (runes of the monk or druid)
  • D/F & Staff Necro (Transfusion, Vampiric Aura, Well and Mark of Blood (on dodge) focus 4) runes of Dwayna
  • A/Wh & Hmr Shout-Heal Warrior, with Inspiring Banner of Tactics, runes of the soldier

are also support-healers

It’s like a bakery (Guild Wars2) providing basic bread (main game), perfect chocolate chip cookies cookies (dungeons), croissants (fractals) who says we will no longer sell our perfect sweet cookies anymore and change ’m to crackers, we will however sell dark bread (raids) and double the size of our croissants….

The baker will see the original cookie lovers leave and find a new bakery, even though they might have the feeling they have a more healthy assortment now….. and the baker will wonder where did I go wrong, while he could just have changed the perfect chocolate chip cookies to okay chocolat covered digestives cookies instead of stale dry crackers instead. (I choose dark bread for raids cause it’s just not everyones taste)

Did you ever look at Minstrel?

TOUGHNESS, HEALING POWER, Vitality, Concentration (=Boon Duration)

should be extremely close to what you want. combined with the rune of the monk should provide a decent start

This should be an ample guardian melee healing/support build…. I have a guardian using a mix of clerics and minstrels (weapons,chest, legs,helm ) and I can make 4 berzerkers facetank anything till lvl 70+ fractals anyways, no need to dodge, ever. (Except maybe Thaumanova Boss due to environment….)

Well I have salvaged dungeon armor (and weapons), mostly for insignia’s and inscriptions and to lesser extend for runes, runes are account bound, so ned to be farmed or gained by flushing…
Ecto’s were an interesting byproduct.

Actual drops from dungeon runs have 2 big problems: 1 when doing runs on a lvl 80 you get lvl 75-80 drops which are relatively valueless, an occasional rare , and a rare exotic (generally I got 1or 2 exotics per dungeon / week counting all paths ran so about 10% chance for an exotic drop and I guess 50-75 for a rare a day… yes you got 10 wool scraps from daily AC and some dust, but it is mostly underwhelming.

I like gliding, I do not like to notice area’s unpassable though, I can understand safeguarding JP’s and other things but still having big walls (like in some orr maps) tends to make the travelling less interesting, I also have become stuck quite a few times in maps by just landing oon top of sructures as they have no roof/ cover. to safeguard you from falling into walls/holes and the like,

I do not like the huge mesmer alacrity nerf ,from 66 to 33 was over the top, 50 would have been better, I play mostly PvE and I do not care too much for quickness and slow on stomps, but I do like the fact my defensive skills stay up the correct time in quickness area’s.

I also think making an invulnerability well, and then removing it’s invulnerability is a bit…. well…. unthoughtfull, finally there was a skjill which could turn ppl immune for a while… to everything except ticking DoT dmg. And it gets removed instantly cause people use it. You ha ve more skills providing invulenrability though those are all self skills. Endure pain or the virtue recharge elite. Why didn’t you just remove the capping possibility, If a mesmer casts it on a point in PvP you will lose control of the point if an enemy person stands on it due to " loss of contribution"? on all affected also through blur/distort and make blur/distort(f4) also lose contibution.

you can be invulnerable but not while fighting on a cap area. just deal with it with 2 dodges

2 other things not adressed would be:
buffing condition builds for thief and
condition ranged weapons for revenant

You cannot ride animals… Only villains ride animals. Was so in gw1, is so in gw2. Only good guy using a mount is Taimi, who’s dependant on her artificial legs to get around (faster).

You can use animals for assistance (junundu wurms in sulpurous area’s(gw1, crystal desert)) or siege devourers in Far Shiverpeaks/EotN (gw1) and EotM(gw2).

as for drills, broomstiocks and magic carpets. Well NP

You Can't Keep Forcing 1 Hour Restarts!

Make the event maps get 2 hours instead of 1 if needed and most problems should be avoided.

Or else make sure all for the active meta event cycle is able to finish the bosses. Most events are finished within 1 hour. You get 1 hour anyways before maps close.

I loved Dungeons…. Dungeons were nerfed hard however with the introduction of Heart of Thorns to a point where people prefer doing personal PvP-arena farms over doing actual dungeons.

I have found I seem to be playing at the wrong time for most HoT content (which is mostly “been there, done that” after the 3 months it’s live now) and I find myself longing for dungeons to a point where I run some and then just log out due to the uselessness of playing for no reward.

In the end the nerf reduced my actual playing from a dungeon run and a fractal run (2-3 hours/day) to a fractal adept/main run lasting 30 minutes and a run for dailies lasting about an hour., only logging in to chat with some guildies and losing interest more and more each day.


As I view it: In all it’s wisdom ArenaNet’s balancing dept. seems to think doing:

  • Fractals: 2-10-x (15-20min total) ,
  • Fractals 21-x-40(15-20 min total) and
  • (Fractals 50+ well 20-50 minutes)
    for 10-20 LIQUID Gold Return for 30min-1 hour , so for me ~15 gold in 30-60 minutes (limited by keys and encryptions) (doing swamp, swamp,( swamp, swamp, swamp,) molten boss, molten boss and 2 random= BORING)

is so much less problematic, then people doing

  • AC ful(35-40min)
  • Cof 1+2 (15-20 ) ( p3: 15 min)
  • SE 1+3 (15-20),
  • TA (up+fw) (20-25min) and
  • CoE Full (30-40 min)
    for formerly 16 gold 61s, now nerfed to 6 gold 6 silver per 2-2,5 hours, (thus doing most different (night) dungeon paths in 5 different dungeons around tyria capped by demishing rewards on rerun) paying ~3 gold/hour, which is lower then World bosses, Event(-chains/maps), and even mat farming runs effctively making the trip into dungeons as rewarding as farming junk items….

and thus most GOLD farmers go SilverWastes farming
Netting 12-40 gold/hour depending on efficiency and experience running the same events over and over again, and opening stuff on dedicated charaters for maximum gains, playing only silverwastes, and ignoring any farmcodes due to refreshing maps and map travelling via LFG thus skipping around servers avoiding farm code, draining from HOT event maps, making personal resets occur within seconds, labyrinths are skipped, only focussing on champions and crests go buy shovels so after a week you can run a couple of Silverwastes ChestFarm (SW CF) runs for a spike in income.

We have people in our guild pulling over 150 gold each day from silverwastes, buying legendaries from the TP every 3 weeks…. I know this requires some serious no-lifing, but it invalidates all other parts of the game. they do not care for HoT events, for dungeons, PvP, WvW, not for events, or celebrations. They just have their character(s) in silverwastes, farming, farming, farming.

I think if you can see this the dungeoneers and dungeonmasters were not that bad. it used to be a community. A vibrant part of Guild Wars.

Showing A-Net has no valid point whatever in reducing rewards for dungeons other than the fact they gave -GOLD- instead of mats and item containers…., and thus:


A possible solution to respark a little interest in dungeons:

1st: A daily dungeon option as an ADDED option to dailies
2nd: Introducing a container with 1 piece of dungeon armor, 1 dungeon weapon and some relevant crafting materials would have been a way better change it and maintaining a viable environment for doing dungeons, without flooding the game with LIQUID REWARDS, e.g. GOLD!

Suggestion: (reward/path)
Always, anytime, no more deminishing returns
25s + 20 dungeon tokens for path (any)
Daily, once a day/path
AC: 1 exotic AC Armorpiece+1 Exotic AC Weapon, 75s + 20 dungeon tokens
, some t2/t3 20pcs (REFINED cloth/leather/wood/metal/dust),
CM: 1 exotic CM Armorpiece+1 Exotic CM Weapon, 50s + 20 dungeon tokens

Writer misses running dungeon, finds A-Net should have introduced containers (with a dungeon armor,a dungeon weapon and some (level relevant) mats instead of just nerfing gold, this could allow for dungeon track completion and might respark interest for said dungeons…

Though My 3930K with 2 GTX 780’s (32Gb DDR3) is a bit outdated nowadays, I am looking at the same performance.

This is mostly cause the CPU’s are the main bottleneck,
Hence most people use i5’s clocked into red zones, as i5’s are easier to OC compare to i7’s.1 670 would be plenty to run Gw2, to be honest people with earlier series already got the same performance. I use my hex-core to simultaneaously watch streams/video’s/movies and read pages on the web while playing (yes Dulfy and others) while using the programs for normal work to the side in a corner of the 32 Gb. The PC is a multitask beast, and just focussing on gw2 with it’s 2-3 thread use and the few kb’s it needs each second is a waste of about 60-85% of your pc’s capabilities.

Legendary vs Ascended

Well truly legendary….

I think most HoT legendaries are in a league of their own, and can be considered way more legendary then previous legendaries…

I’ve seen lvl 80 ppl with -300 to 400 AP- with Legendary Greatsword skins, whcih IMHO are purely bought with creditcards. There is little legendary about most legendaries… especially on characters without AP’s

I made 2, The Kudzu and The Meteorologicus and am working (albeit not with any rush) on Zap to make Bolt. I might want to make the new Staff skin, ehm… Nevermore is it?

But I do not see the added value above the (mostly BLTP skinned) ascendeds I already own. I have 7 full ascended armors and I have 70+ ascended weapons for my 19 lvl 80 characters.

If I make a legendary it’s -PURELY- about the value of the skin, whcih also means I’ll never make any of the Greatswords as I find them UGLY (I still hate the blurs after 3 years I still am convinced it’s the 2 ugliest things ingame, and there are some really bad things… which rate (far) above.

/ Guild Fashion Wars rant.

Oh and after Nevermore, likely never more legendaries, or they need to be really, really ,really impressive. And they will need to be extremely impressive!

Minion usefull:
Yes, in some cases, dungeons/fractals with minions are not so fun….a least not as long as you want to be stacking a lot, and want to be serious. On a troll run/fun run with non-experienced guildies why not?

Where not usefull?
Stacking runs/Dungeon+fractal farms

I would use traits most of the times mostly with condition builds, I might take Flesh golem in builds for a tank, also untraited.

I used minions on all kinds of gear, including zerker (before HoT), Vipers, Rabid, and I’m consideing Trailblazer as I run an alt necro now (Other Viper, but I also have a zerker somewhere, but do not like GS, still loving condi/corrupt/epidemic.) and then still clad in full Rabid and I use it when my daughters are sleeping lightly (so I can AFK a while and come back and see Minions bodyguarding me while AFK. Build is rediculously tanky though.

Well It can work Curse/DeathMagic/Reaper will work, You would not have problems fighting objects as objects in PVE in HoT are condition vulnerable,going back however to Tyria Base you’ll notice you will be dependant on you flesh golem to take out objects and scepter an Staff will be inadequate.

I would suggest you check Trailblazer-stats. Just because expertise is king.

well like… FARM instead of making forum posts and so you need to engage in:

F Farmtastic
A Altoholic
R Repeditive
M Movement

You could go and farm wood/iron from lvl 17-65 area’s (t2-t4) and if you are really fanatic t5 is an nice addition as well

Or go to Silverwastes like all of us farm the masterwoork things and open them on a character between 25 and 55 (50-53 for maximum profit?)

Alternatly, farm fractals lvl 40 for encryptiojns until you will never ever worry about firefields again.

When bored take a run through Orr or do a Meta Event in Maguuma jungle , then restart at top. Continue as long as possible each day,

And remember you’re playing this game to have fun. = Very important. Repeditive movements with no gain other then some coin tends to lower the idea you ’re progressing. And doing the same stuff 2-3 maybe 5 , 10- or 20 times in a row tends to cause serious brain fry, often resulting in boredom, disinterest and frustrations..

Place unused alts at rich mining nodes/ or other area’s with many harvestable materials(
flax (under itzel villkage, Verdant Brink)/
platinum (in Mount Mealstorm on west side)/
Iron (Brisban WIldlands Northwest))
as a few starters

I have a lot of mining tools, and salvage o matics. Mostly from a time when they were still SOULBOUND. At the time when they were made ACCOUNT bound the Devs had a time of leniency to allow ppl to get their salvage-o-matics/mining tools reimbursed. I aquired about this myself and decided against it. SO I got account bound salvage tools for the price thgy were originally released (800 gems as opposed to the 1000 now)

While poepl can say well they are now completely useless I’ll be honest yes they have become fairly easily to share now, I do not know if you can USE them from the shared slot (if so I’d consider this extremely nice and a HUGE QoL for all those with only 1 set)

But I’ll be honest I never swapped my mining tools on my main(s) I have everything I need on my alts I have a copper fed/char and I normally used normal mining tools as I am STILL too lazy to swap ‘m. It’s alos the reason I just bought 1 slot, and just put in my perma bank. If I need stuff it’s there.

I have restructured my bank, put all foods and utility in 1st tab,all keys in 2nd tab with some WvW siege and in the 3rd tab boosters and banners, all the rest has just trinkled down to the bottom

To make room I salvaged 60 Asneded rings I had in 6 fold anyways

My inventory : 146 slots + 360 from the bank. QoL!

It’s by far not useless, It’s the ultimate convinience…. as long as you had the perma contracts available…. and if you had the bank contract you’d only need 1

Then again if you didn’t, you’ll likely want 3-4 for perma tools and salvage o matic… and if you choose 4 you could just as well get 5 for the same price.


This is likely ALSO the reason why perma banks were sold out as of 1 minute after patch and the price went up through the roof going over the top 2-3 times. and the perma merchants skyrocketed, with BL merchants going over the top 3-4 times and the normal merchants doing nice as well on a comparable 2-3 times


(Only valid provided you have MULTIPLE chartacters some/all bank slots and a PERMANENT BANK ACCES CONTRACT (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Permanent_Bank_Access_Contract) ~3200 gold now used to be 1100-1200 before )

You just need 1 shared slot and shift all your stuff 1 slot down in you bank put everything you want to be accesssible in the top slot. done. for the amount saved you can buy several bank slots (well 3.5 actually if you haven’t gotten them already)

Necro has a trait: convert 13% of precision to condition dmg and with rabid gear and undead runes a huge number can be achieved as well. should be curses as well

Mesmer is quite unique cause it has 2 signets, one giving 180 condi dmg and 1 giving 20% duration.
Clones do not do dmg, they do however apply conditions. evasive deception tends to be very nice in combination with scepter, Why? You can do confusion, torment and blind on each shatter as well and confusion on blind… giving 2 confusion, 1 blind and 1 torment / illusion on shatter -ON ALL 4- shatters, with F2 doing an aditional confusion.
Didn’t test this for chrono tbh. (chaos/illusions/dueling)

And I understand why warrior wasn’t in this but the banner of strength and 25 might alone give a nice 170+750 point bonus to condition dmg. this being roughly a 50% addition to most condi builds base values.

As story goes the 48 step condi engineer is/used to be one of the most powerfull condi builds around.

  • Condi Engi: have all fields all finishers and conditions on a LOT of skills.

Others:

I’d only advise against condition thief tbh. P/D & SB Daredevil has some conditions on dodge, and they’ll add to caltrops but targetting those is a full time job. nthen again you can get 2 spike traps, a poison field and whirl and bleeds from pistol or SB. It can be fun to play (PvE only) if you are not in a hurry though…

Most proffesion give good PvE world completion builds (well above lvl 25-30) when using conditions but conditions tend to suck at low levels.

SInce bank guilds or small guilds can no longer gain buffs in WVW, WvW is now broken, and unfair. It’s a shame they had to do something so drastic and destory a game mode so far by locking stuff behind a paywall .

in the end this WvW is no longer the game mode it once was and has reached a point where trying it is just a waste of time.

All these mount threads mount to nothing.

As long as you understand it’s better to have no mount, than to be mounted by your mount or the need to read the thread(s) regarding mounts….

I think I’m sure this stuff is just a mountain of text about mounts, and I’m not waiting to have it reach the amount of positive reviews. And I’m sure you’ll be sure this is a mountain which will not be scaled as mounting an expedition to get mounts is a serious waste of time, which already amounts to days if not weeks of lost time due to the mountain of posts created by the mountain of people trying to mount arguements for or against mounts.

And it still mounts up to nothing: you need to drill to find mounts or sweep this subject, being mounts, under the carpet with a broom.

And thats about it… for mounts. I hope I mounted a good post about the amount of useless time spend to get useless mounts.

I hope this post doesn’t amount to things which need to be corrected as I think I mounted a good defence against the introduction of mounts.

Oh and sorry for the typo’s, the mountain of those still amazes me. each time I try to add something the number seems to mount…

1st: Theoretically you could also go warrior with GS and LB,

Similarities for the 2 are,

  • traps…
  • both can be healers
  • both have a area boon (ranger: spotter, 150 precision to 5 ppl; guardian: strength in numbers: 150 toughness to 5 ppl)
  • both can give a lot of boons to self, though guardian will be better supplying boons to others.
  • both have acces to good condition specs, though both will need different weapons

ranger:

  • pets willl make ranger extremely flexible and will be adding sustain,
  • it has a lot of decent and good ranged options (LB (1500) or staff (1200)) guardian used to have less, but with the Longbow, the single target scepter as only ranged option has been surpassed.
  • while playing Axe/torch you will have a great condition potential, especially when combined with traps

guardian:

  • guardian is mostly used for sustain, though it has a decent DPS role as well and a powerfull DOT option (burning guardian)
  • guardian is limited on condition builds by focussing all out on burning (desstroyers and some other creatures are immune to burning destroying your source of damage.)
  • guardian can use traps for a good DPS build.

Lastly guardian used to be prefered in a lot of situation beiunbg part of the most commonly used groups for added survival. Ranger was found to have less benefit to parties, and while these views are largely antiquated, you’ll still find people not allowing rangers in parties.

I play both. and I like both, they are completely different in playstyle and capabilities.

We have shadowsteps and teleports ingame, teleports were nerfed to have the same fuctionality as shadowsteps, mostly.

Difference:
Teleport would move people from point A to B within (sight-)range originally without any limits, later no longer through forcefields/walls/doors
Shadowstaps are instant moves across a field which is checked: is actual (walking)movement possible? if yes -> ok; if no → no valid path to target

Well since the interest for the dugeon thread has reached levels like the discussion of raid rewards, farming loctions for mining and a discussion on the beauty of empty dungeons, I would like tho say,

Thank you for continuing to create stuff and then removing it….

A-Nets track record should list the following
Most events from previous festivals have been removed though people still would like to aquire them
Most Season 1 events seem forgotten for the better part e.g.

  • Halloween tracks (Mad Memories)
  • Tower of nightmares,
  • The Marionette,
  • The secret of southsun (reworked,maybe we could get a small karka invasion in LA daily to reintegrate Southsun cove in this game),
  • Bazaar of the 4 Winds with it’s mini games
  • SAB (even though I hate it personally)
  • Dungeons (yes…. leaving dungeons to the side, with no rewards seems a bit extreme, why didn’t you double the tokenrewards or create a chest directly giving skins so we could complete the reward tracks. I sure as hell will not play PvP, WvW
    NP, if it’s reverted to playable state again, but PvP never, just because!
  • WVW? Well ‘nough said We have a queue on EBG and no-one playing the borders except a few PvE-ers doing dailies. No-one seemingly cares. NO-ONE! Even though the maps are nice estethically they are unfair, unwieldy, unpopulated and bound to all things WvW-ers asked, even begged, not to be included. The end result shows you are living a dream far away from this game and it’s players….

Some people make an effort to keep some communication alive to make sure there is still a community, but the hardcore community shifted partially to Reddit, as did some other developers causing a rift in comunications as well…

I must say the release of HoT wasn’t the succes you expected, maybe in sales it was, but the reception and acceptance of content was horrid. For me HoT has been the worst experience in Gw2… mostly because I find it unplayable, I log in for 30 minutes of sometims a bit longer and I log out again, cause I do the daily fractals(easy) in a 15-20 minute block, then next time I log in a do daily and the 3rd time a day I notice there is NOTHING LEFT as DS, VB and all other maps take too long, are full, or unacccessible, I need points for masteries so I travel to them to find the are behind a timer/event barricade, but I’m mostly in empty maps… events get done only if I do ’m myself it seems…

DUNGEONS WERE ALWAYS OPEN, well except for COF, COE and Arah which -NORMALLY- had open instances somewhere else…through LFG… whihc took 15-30 minutes and paid for my ingame needs…

I fight over scraps now in my ascneded gear…. no longer a hero, but a beggar
unable to afford a guild hall, upgrades to new armor, or new specs….
The money I gain is put in food, and when I run out of cash I sell stuff from my bank. each time just feeling poorer and more miserable, the feeling of rewards are long gone, as is the fun in opening bags after bags after bags of junk just for the salvage-o-matic. Even the bags give bags now… but I haven’t gotten 1 drop from the new area’s yet with a new skin remotely usefull, yes I got a set of rare weapon, and some exotics but all OLD skins…
ALL new skins come from repeating story over and over and over and over and bugging on hearts and minds , bugging on hearts and minds and bugging on hearts and minds hasn’t made my experience better at all…. No really it is not okay.

I really want to play, but I do not have much fun at this time, the nerf in gold for dungeons was a usefull thing for the economy but I really hate A-Net as a company for it.

I really do not care for RAIDS, which are dungeons, problem is I missed the boat and as such who cares, it’s noot 15 minutes either, unless your party is ready and waiting.

HoT final story - too long (spoilers)

I tried the final fight a 6 or 7 times now, on normal mode I finished once. I had 1 group disband on me and 5 times mostly DIFFERENT bugs with characters not appearing or mordremoth staying invulnerable

I made parties gathering 5 ppl and bug … and bug again…

I do not mind a glitch once every 3-6 weeks in a dungeon but this is reciulous, in dungeons I had 99% good runs, here I have had 15% succes…

And not even through own error, just to buggy programming and flawed mechanics.

I tried it on hard mode 2 times as well, 2 times I got past the flying phase and the 3rd character only to be bugged out. Which is truly cause for migraines.

Regarding: The fixed amount of Condition Duration on Givers Weapons

Givers Weapons are Condition Duration (main stat) and precision, vitality (minor) as such they follow a completely different stat combination as compared to the armor and jewelry.

The present Condition Duration is

10% (or roughly 150 expertise) for a single handed weapon
20% (or roughly 300) expertise for a 2-handed weapon

If these values would be normalised for normal exotics the values would be:
120 expertise ( + 8 % condition duration) for a single handed weapon
239 expertise ( + 15.93 % condition duration) for a 2-handed weapon

Changing the name and adding a slightly modified recipe could make the stats more comprehensible. I agree on this.

I’m still wondering about “yellow snow(-flake)”even though it has a history in Guild Wars… but it’s up for discussion of course. And I would not mind gold as long as gold ore is used, as weaponsmiths cannot use gold ingots as they cannot refine it, as it is now, Yellow dye could be an interesting thing as well. I would have at least a use for it, not having a scribe.

Present status:

Giver’s Armor/trinkets:

  • Toughness (Major)/
  • Healing/
  • +1% Boon duration (fixed)

Giver’s Weapons:

  • Condition duration (Fixed) 10/20%
  • Vitality
  • Precision

Inconsistency:
Since the introduction expertise and concentration in HoT, 1 thing isn’t changed:

The fixed amount of Boon Duration on Givers Armor and Jewelry, and on Doubloons
The fixed amount of Condition Duration on Givers Weapons


*And thus I’d like to propose: *

Changing the now ‘legacy’ fixed boon duration to concentration in all cases, I’d suggest the stats provided by doubloons be re-evaluated as well.


Proposal (details):

Changing the now ‘legacy’ fixed boon duration to concentration in all cases:

  • would make the Exotic Giver’s armor provide (299 concentration (19.92% boon duration)), 299 healing and 419 toughness
  • would give Exquisite snowflakes their 1% boon duration still, but the trinkets would be greatly improved.
  • would give Doubloons stat bonus in % but it could be reworked to give a single boost to concentration (15/30/45/60 concentration respectively, for copper/silver/gold and platinum.)

Q.) Should Giver stats and Doubloons be reworked to add boon duration through concentration, as a minor stat, thus replacing the “legacy” percentage boon duration which has been the standard (and underwhelming) till now?

A.) I’d say Yes.
It would rebuild and correct the structure of giver’s amongst armor stats, as well as refresh/rework the givers stat making it (more) usefull in builds.
And make doubloons usefull (I think it wouldn’t inpact on the availabiliity of silver doubloons (needed for certain legendaries, always in short supply), and would give a market for gold and platinum doubloons).

Interestingly if you need 10000 alcoholic drinks they should give a replacement liver as a reward…

This is like drinking 3 alcoholic beverages daily for 10 years…. Most RL people will be decent alcoholics….. never ever being able to stop….. so this should be “drunkard” title

Give the other one after 500, 500 drinks is 2 good beers every weekend for 5 years…

HoT also has all of Vanilla.. Only thing I find a minor minus is the fact I cannot glide in vanilla or WvW, that would make fo some interesting intrusions…

Anybody for AntiGlider mastery?

I find myself playing events, and festivals, fractals, and occasional dungeon Season 2, HoT and also personal story…. I hunt for masteries, then go do a world boss or my daily…

You cannot see HoT without Vanilla… I just find the expansion limited. And I would say:

I see a lot about bleeds, but both engi and necro have poison fields and finishers poison bolts/ fire bolts (when a firefield is used) will stack a nice burst. (RS4+corrosive poison cloud) and scrapper/engi has all combo fields, and a whirl gyro… I do not know if this would add to dmg, I have used it with burning warrior (axe 5 in F1 fire after end of f2 burning phase)
