Lol, everyone professions wants GS. That way everyone can show off their Great big Giant Shiny. pfff
Not us engies, gs is overrated. Hammer is where its at!
Also I wanna see pistols for guardians
I was thinking they might give us another “category” of skills instead of expanding on the current ones.
How about structures as a fifth category? The mobile barrier mentioned above, towers that give a boost to allies over a range, movement tiles (like the ones in pokemon games), and the portal mentioned could also be considered a structure and so on.
More like every weapons is yes
“What’s more is that the team is also working very kitten finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons.”
Hammer better include rocket style attacks ala king dedede!
In the latest content preview they mentioned upcoming new skills for every profession, though thats was as specific as they went. And as much as I would love to know what is in store for us, they wont tell us yet, so on the bright side that gives us time for speculation!
A dev mentioned a long time ago that they were thinking of making a portal-like skill for engies, which could be cool and unique if engies could build two gates that allies could travel thru and could stay up as long as turrets do….though with the offside that they could be attacked and destroyed by enemies.
More kits! Chainsaw kits…whips…gatling guns…the engie forums has had plenty of sweet ideas with weapons that could be a blast to play! Might we ever see one of them come true? I certainly hope so!
So what other awesome skills do you guys think we might get?
And the best part is you didn’t add more skills that stealth you!
I approve of claws for thieves.
Something that wouldn’t be exactly bad – untraited grenades are quite lackluster. On the other side you would take more damage via retaliation than before with untraited grenades, while dealing the same damage…
But be getting more chance to proc trait effects
“You may even earn a rare chance at an Aetherized weapon.”
“may” = RNG; “earn” = work; “chance” = RNG
So putting in the effort for RNG at RNG….
Thats a polite way of saying “lol nope”
Its also a way of saying the universe will laugh at you
The sad part is those who want those weapons the most will not end up getting them while their friends who go in just for achievements will.
My real question about Ascended Armor (and weapons) is how they will deal with Runes and Sigils. With jewelry it didn’t really matter to just get rid of the upgrade slot and combine it in with the normal stats, but you can’t do that with weapons/armor. There are unique bonuses on Sigils and Runes that they can’t just combine into the base stats of an item. Will they have both an Upgrade slot and an Infusion slot, I wonder? I hope they address this properly. Honestly I would not trade up to an Ascended weapon for extra stats if it meant giving up the various Superior Sigils I use.
For runes its still up in air I would think but for sigils I think they would stay. Consider that legendaries have sigils and they would be brought up to ascended once those weapons come out. They couldn’t be able to just remove sigils from them.
I’d still kill for some Valk trinkets
I feel you :/
What he wants is a transfer of power not a nerf
kitten …
So now i won’t be able to use MF gear, and link berserker gear in CoF P1?
The removal of MF gear is specially tailored for people like you
Which is too bad, knowing elitist who ask for zerker gear ping were getting punked is a sweet thought
One thing I hope devs keep in mind is to make sure the ascended armor comes for all the types of current stat combinations and not only just your usual zerker, cleric, soldier etc.
I currently run a settlers stat build with exotic trinkets while waiting for the ascended version to come out. (settlers and apothecary not the same) As of now it is still manageable to fight in wvw since the only difference in total power between me and a full ascended enemy is on an estimation around 5%. However with the new ascended gear the gap will increase further to possibly over 10% and after finding a set that I already feel comfortable with, I would hate to have to toss it away just to keep up with others.
Devs, please keep in mind that other sets exists and all llayers should have an equal chance to go ascended without having to give up our builds, because ultimately we should have flexibility at end game and not be pigeon holed into fewer builds.

Well by now you should know what kind of build youvare aiming for. If you dont go spvp around a bit with different builds. Run dungeons for your armor and weapons and use the karma for your trinkets since you cant exchange dungeon tokens for those
Save your laurels until you are 100% sure of what you want
Can’t be serious. Oh no a guy with 5k health, what will I do? Your bunker could kill him at that point.
Well, try to kill an Automated Response engineer with a rabid jewel and a condition build. Regeneration will outheal the damage.
Rabid jewel? That regeneration wont be doing crap for them
So if theyre removing magic find out of my armor, what will happen to my armor like explorers set? I would hate to see it turn into a berserkers or rampager set since I already have one of those >.<
Burning is actually the only condition, that is outstanding. Condition-speccs without it have no chance to be successfull (see engi/necros). Therefore it should be reduced a bit in duration or damage. The rest of the conditions are not a big deal (weakness mabye).
Ever tried to play a necro before patch? Without burning the damage was fine, but definitely not overhelming. Or the engineer? His access to burning was the key-element of this build (and is still).
I agree that main dps comes from burning, at least on engineer. Poison, bleeding, and confusion do low-mediocre. You gotta be kidding me though if your saying you wanna nerf burning cause thats what makes our specs viable.
Ha pretty funny. To me it seems that the more you have of one class, the better synergy they get. One mm necro is counterable, having a rush of a hundred minions coming at your team not so much. You can still keep track of a mes in between his three illusions, but its becomes insanely more hard if theres 12 clones all over the place..people stealthing and blinking all around and you cant even tell who is who when they all created the same little asura looks. Five ranger pets onto a guy? You better have freeze or start running.
Im just hoping I can
a) group up with my guldies for this one
b) have no limit to the number of wave you can survive and better chance of loot everytime. I thought that was how the christmas tower defense event was going to be like but it had a cap :/
And maybe then Ill have a good chance at those weapons by not relying on pugs
You would figure they would have reworked it by now considering its current state, but then think about what they did for it during Junes super balance patch….they reduced the cd on ice mortar from 30 to 20. Its cds are not the reason that people don’t use it, its problems are much bigger that cannot be fixed by just lowering cd. Its then when I realized anet is oblivious to why mortar sucks and/or just dont give a crap about it.
Engies have made a few posts about it since the game released and not much has changed, when it comes to mortar it just feels like were talking to a wall about our problems. I wouldnt hold my breath for any siginificant changes or even bug fixes for it soon.

I don’t play warrior much but last I remembered, when using deep strike the bonus precision showed up in your overall stats. Now when I look at them, neither one is showing an increase. Did these traits get bugged out in the last patch or does it work but not show?
@Zelulose Necros have
-Consume Conditions
-Well Of Power
-Deathly Swarm
-Plague Signet
-Putrid Mark
Oh and btw these are all conditions except for deathly swarm which is still pretty good I am not even going to get into traits but if a necro is griping about condition removal just NO.Why does my engineer list feel longer?
Cause you were adding face palming stuff like fumigate and toss elixir r as condition removers. I think at this point you really should go try an engie first before complaining about a class you don’t understand.
The more interesting part is that engineers already have enough condition removal.
With the elixir gun kit alone, -Fumigate- and -Super Elixir- remove plenty of conditions.
The healing kit has -Drop Antidote-. I will list the rest:
Skills
-Cleansing Burst
-Toss Elixir R
-Elixir C
-Toss Elixir C (the profession skill)
As for traits
-Cleaning Formula 409
-Transmute
-Automated ResponseI understand condition removal, but isn’t this too much for one class?
You can’t hit yourself with fumigate and super elixir removes like one. Though yeah engies have a good number of ways remove conditions. It could have been that anet intended engies role to be the bunkers against conditions, similar to how guardians make excellent bunkers against power dmg.
Oh, this thread again. Quote from another player:
“Hey, there is a heavily specialized build that counters my heavily specialized build, nerf it.”
It should be made so that on the third fractal and forward, no one can be kicked anymore as long as their character is in that instance (So it could still work if they went offline or out of dungeon). After two fractals, you should already know if you wanted to keep going with the party or not and it’ll minimize the time wasted for any people that get victimized to just two fractals; better than wasting more time and being kicked at third.
Its not a foolproof plan but its imo a step in the right direction
(edited by Penguin.5197)
I wouldnt say remove, but an option to be able to prioritize your back item over your kit sacks if wanted.
Edit: saying get rid off was a wrong choice of words
(edited by Penguin.5197)
They hear engies complain about hobosacks, so what do they do? Make hobosacks for everyone!
You gotta love that toucan though, it gives it enough touch to make it not just another hobosack, but the ultimate hobosack ~
Btw Anet how long more until we can get rid of hobosacks so we can show off our new hobosacks? All these back pieces coming out month after month and the only thing I can do is wait until that issue is fixed :/
(edited by Penguin.5197)
Op I cant believe you left out engie >.> But I would say necro is possibly th best 1v1 followed by engie..cause im bias that way.
If cantha returned in an expansion, I cant imagine assassins making a comeback since it too similar to thieves and engineers are the spiritual successors to ritualist. Though I would like to see a samurai class that comes from cantha, who can be fill in the third heavy armored class.
Try correcting people that keep saying Jormag is up, while it’s supossed to be claw….
Too late for that, claw has already adopted the name of jormag, the community is already used to it. Plus saying jormag is up somehow sounds better than saying claw up :S
Wvw bonuses.
dsaasdsad
I ended up switching my mind and getting radiant right at the end. Hope I don’t end up regretting it. Anyways do I win or do I win?
Well, yes they are planning on more.
“We still plan to do both new legendary weapons, as well as a clear path (on top of the current random chance) to gain precursors which players can see their progress and understand how much work they have left to do to gain it.
It’s highly likely the precursor concept will involve playing varied different content all over the game to gather numerous content specific materials that are combined together to make a precursor.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/New-Legendaries-Rework/first
That radiant armor is just so bright and shiny…would that make you more or less prone to skritt attacks? :O
I feel like you’d have to be stupid to assume less <_<
Idk lol I’m thinking they’ll be too busy staring in awe to attack
That radiant armor is just so bright and shiny…would that make you more or less prone to skritt attacks? :O
Wow everybody is getting radiant here, guess ill be the hipster and get hellfire (oh irony). If only because the helm has a unique look on charr.
I would say go for it, its not bad but that build is a little outdated since it was introduced. Elixir s is only reliable as a finisher nowadays and then theres the fact that removing boons is a lot more common now. If you use up are your utilities to stack 25 mights and a thief steals them from you or you get boon corrupted (Both those classes seems to be pretty common in wvw)…you will probably not survive. Otherwise it still has a lot of potential against other classes.
Edit: You might wanna try it in spvp first before committin to it
(edited by Penguin.5197)
If I was in eu, right now I would be hunting you down, going in stealth and placing big ol bombs next to you. At every chance I get.
But since Im not there someone else do it for me
But for those CoF farmers and players who only play pve this just saved them a lot of time and effort. So again…
can i get 3/5 of my charged lodestones?
Sure just buy them with the free gold you are getting everyday
And if prices too high wait till it drops a bit :S
Ha I didn’t even know we had a home instance, figured those maps were just empty places with nothing to do inside.
To be fair there is almost always a veteran or champion event going on in the area, so its pretty easy to remake the fee if you take half a minute to smack that ve goo around.
Imo engies are better suited for jack of all trades better than any other class. Anet says eles are the go to class for it but their hp and armor say otherwise. Engies are more comfortable with their medium armor and hp and can do a variety of roles well, including condition damage (Something which other classes other than necro fail to do well).
I’ll probably also be making a divinity build later on.
Just dodge and keep running away for 8 seconds if you didn’t build power? Not much different than when I am on my engie and gotta play defensively until someone’s stability runs out.
Dodged nerf bat, but no turret fixes either :/
At first when I was using super speed + rocket boots I was like “whoah this combo is too good! no doubt its gonna be nerfed soon!”. Then after using those two after many times together in wvw when chasing someone or running from zerg I came to the realization…even with those skills, other classes can still get away or catch up to you. Even though last patch made us speedier, its nowhere near a godly speed; still slower than warriors who spam leap closers and thieves, but faster than necros and guards. I would be seriously disappointed if it got nerfed somehow.
As builds are buffed or nerfed Im left with all these now useless trinkets that took me months to get now just taking up inventory space on my characters. It makes me sad to see that happen, at the very least I would like to be able to unsoulbind my trinkets for five laurels then just become soulbound again on use or something similar.
I would say its still performs better than Performance Enhancement or Armored Attack, which are both grandmaster minor traits. Based on the previous % of x to y traits this one was a step up from others.
Give it the the treatment always prepared got of “less is more” last patch. Remove the mortar and leave the perma stability
Our clumsiness and rng used to be worse but have been toned down significantly, for me its not as bad as it used to be. We just have to accept the fact that our elixirs are rng but sometimes its still too much rng. Still there are some skills that can use some improvement, namely removing swiftness from H and vigor from the toss one. I would love to see our elixirs have a 50/50 chance for one of two buffs instead of a 33% for one of three.
Also poison dart volley could be a little tighter.
When traited, your pistol can hit 5 times with 5 aoe explosions on top of that for a total on 20 or 30 attacks, 20 or 30 bleed stacks, and 20 or 30 procs of pure dmg (do the explosions hit 3 or 5 people?). That won’t happen often but the fact that it’s possible means it’s not a bad skill. Then you have pistol 2-5 which are all very good. On top of that you have flamethrower for power builds (that spike) vs things that don’t have ret, 1500 range nades (takes skill) that can single handedly stack 25 bleeds and 25 vuln., and the terribad for dps and insanely op for surviving Elixir gun. You can’t complain b/c 1 skill isn’t good when you aren’t traiting for it at all.
What?? NOOOOOOOO!! Not even close lol Those aoe explosions? They dont do bleed stacks, they do the power damage. And the damage on a pistol? 118(Thats how much I got on my condition build). Maybe 200 if you got lots of power. So I still think explosive shot is the worst ranged auto attack in game.
And they were just comparing ranged skill 1, not the rest :P
The increasing number of engies with automated response is a result of the meta shift, where engies just adapted to the situation. Now necros should do the same and adapt and take some more power or get countered instead of asking for nerfs. Plus as a bonus this skill helps promote hybrid builds, why would anet wanna take that away?
And btw there is a – direct damage for under 25% health its called bark skin. Combine it with high toughness and protection and you are near impossible to kill with power, just as automated response needs vitality to work best .
