My solution: Highest score server can capture points but doesnt get stat bonus. half bonus for second place and full for third. Do it anet do it.

Edit: This way first place can negate a buff to their opponentsand keep them from catching but it doesnt add more pressure to the losing servers, while giving the other servers a fighting chance to catch up.

Is there any other game that still doesn’t have a hard counter to their invisibility? It took long enough for anet to figure out how powerful the stealth mechanic is, and its about time they tried to balance it out.

Elixir S will grant not only invulnerable but the toolbelt will grant invisibility.

Can’t see me and can’t hurt me if even if you know where I am.

Typically I could only reliably do this with cloaking device before…but now…mother of god the rivers of tears will threaten to down me.

Yeah I think I may be altering my build a smidgen.

Yup Yup without superspeed I will be shortening my rocket jump distance a bit, but for the ability to misdirect its definitely worth it

I might switch out slick shoes for elixir s now that the toolbelt is more reliable. Having one of the strongest mechanics in this game is too tempting to pass up.

(Im on my settler build with h.turret/r.boots/s.shoes/tool kit)

I honestly cant imagine turrets ever being considered op (viable at best), it would take some drastic changes to get them that far.

Granted but as soon as you pass the centaur in a race giant mega-troll and his giant mega-troll wife spawns and rips your characters head off, smashes it into the centaur head causing both heads to explode and giant mega-troll’s wife uses the mess to make dye for her new dress made from baby Quaggan skin.

According to the leaked patchnotes, there’s a possibility that it’ll be taken care of in October’s balance patch – and if I’m reading it correctly, it might go like this:

If your back item is showing, then your Kit will not cover it.
If your back item is not showing, or has no skin attached to it, it will be as normal.

Yeah..thats pretty much what the dev said he was trying to do on page 5.

I would love signets but realistically we would not get them for one simple reason: We can overcome the choice dilema of either using passive or active signet effects simply by playing with out tool belt skills. 99% sure its because of our class mechanics that we are the only class who werent given one

I’m very excited about these engineer changes. ^^ Yeah the toolbelt elixir skills (especially s) weren’t too much fun to use since it has always been unreliable, and you would more often than not get the one you didn’t need and fail at whatever you weren’t doing/die.

On a side note, I would like to see mortar get some love from devs too after this patch. Its been a year and still horrid, or do devs really find engie mortar balanced?

My Guardian girlfriend just discovered the Engineer traitlines, and looked at the skills.

This is hilarious.

My girlfriend rolled her first Engineer alt last week. Used the scroll to boost to lv20, picked up a nice looking pistol and used a spare backslot skin she had left.

After 5min she asked me if its normal that she couldnt see her back or rifle half the time.
Poor thing.

9/9/2013 WvW night

NERF is a PvX guild on Fort Aspenwood. We have guild missions on Saturdays and WvW nights Mondays. Lately we’ve been joining SIC for PvP on Thursdays.

That minute in the beginning was pretty fun! Jq was trying to capture that point, unaware that they were about to get hit by a stack of supply crates then attacked from both sides

I don’t see how its bad. There have been many times when I have used them only to watch them shoot at anyone and anything but the guy I want shot. Having more control over turrets is a step in making them truly viable.

Mind you, I can’t stand Asura either, ugly little grey spitballs that they are.

They’ve basically Said for clipping they just care more for the most played races and not so much for charr. I love my charr but when your own devs don’t give a crap about a race I don’t expect many players will either.

Contrary to popular belief, engineers dont actually have strong arms. Grenades only travel a long range cause each one is equipped with a mini thruster.

The only time I think it can be considered useful is when fighting a thief or mes in wvw and they stealth and dump all the aggroed animals on to you. Might as well turn all that dump into boons

hmm engi to me seems fairly balanced imo.. you guys have some seriously strong builds. to run off with so i wouldnt think they would need a buff really.. but ive only been playing engi for like 2 weeks so i wouldnt really know offhand myself the only complaints ive seen on you guys forums are mostly about legendarys.. and having to run around with hobo packs on.. thats mostly what ive seen lol.

I agree with you Engine is in good state ATM, no need any buff or nerf. Though, I just add to the list as one of the class that need skill to play.

I agree too, other than some fixes on turrets we are fine were we are. Though watch us get hit by the condi nerf and take us two steps back again.

I can pretty much relate to this thread. At this point all I got time for is the daily and an achivement or two per day. Usually by the time im near finished the next update is already here which shortens my time for what I really wanna do such as lvling alts and wvwing. If anyne has noticed, the amount of achievents on successive living story updates has been increasing in by an absurd amount since it began with the karka invasion. Slow down on these achivements give us time for other stuff too :/

The reason why so many people are against updates through living world is because the living world hasn’t proven itself to many yet. By now people have connotated living world with quests/achievements and so far it has really been lacking what expansions give and we players look forward to; new skills, new classes, new races and such. So far the living world has progressed a story and that is cool and all but it hasn’t really given players a sense of progression for themselves too.
Once living story starts pumping out those kinds of updates players may start accepting it more.

Im kinda worried about capture points, it sounds like itll have the same problems as orbs all over again where the power boost only ends up helping the biggest zergs. I would like to see it where your server cannot capture it unless you are capturing at least three points simultaneously (To break up zergs and introduce smaller skirmishes) or that the points only give a power bonus to the 3rd place server
