He doesn’t need a nerf after ONE day. People need to learn how each part works to help take him down. Keep him as is. Everyone else that’s complaining after ONE day l2p against him. Just fought him for the first time and yea we lost. Fought him up close and personal and did fine. Next time I’m going to learn the about how the lasers work and try for those.

There are 3 reasons why I’m not a fan of the charr.

1. I hate their homeland. It looks awful to me. Most if looks like dying plants barely covering up sand and ash.

2. Most of them act crude and act like complete jerks (this is not to say all of them do but most).

3. And the biggest reason is, I cannot really find any armor that looks good on them whether it be light, medium, or heavy. I’ve tried several times to make a charr, and have made another that could have potential but armorwise they look awful in pretty much everything.

Here are a couple looks I’ve been toying with for a war charr. Unfortunately I can’t dye these the way I would like. I’m not going to buy several expensive dyes for a toon that I may end up deleting.

We need gold sinks. As it stands there’s now a lot more gold around since the past couple of patches than should have been allowed. Legendary items is understandable to make account bound considering the amount of time and effort (if you’re one of the ones that actually tries to make it then use a credit card) to make than other soulbound items. Exotics don’t need to be account bound there are plenty of them around for decent prices or cheaper if you fight in dungeons (though I don’t agree with the account bound chest with 40 tokens which should have stayed character bound). The same with ascended weapons even though it would have been nice for them to be account bound a couple weeks to make one is not so bad and the prices for mats to upgrade your craft and make the weps will drop in due time. Legendary weps on the other hand are unique. I’m not saying that you don’t see them everywhere, just that they take a whole lot more effort, time and money to make than rare, exotic, or ascended gear. It is not too much to ask for legendary weapons to be account bound. Plenty of people, including myself, want to be able to thoroughly enjoy these weapons on all the characters we are able to use them on and not just stick with the one same character.
People love variety. We love different types of food, different types of music, different types of games or movies, so it’s not too much to allow us to use our legendary weapons on the different characters, and classes, and races that you have made for us to enjoy. I mean that is why you made all these races playable right? To enjoy the different ways each race uses a weapon in their respective class. To enjoy how those weapons look when they hold them. Otherwise why did you not just stick to just humans as the only playable race?

Honestly I think there is more incentive to make legendary items account bound. Making them account bound, yes, will allow you to use it on multiple characters (I don’t know many who just enjoy one solitary class and not enjoy a change every so often) but it also stands to reason as to why just stop at making just one then? I myself enjoy 3 different classes (mes, guard, war) out of those 3 all of them can use Greatsword and Sword so why not make both if you like them? Two can use mace, hammer, and shield (war, guard) maybe I’d make the hammer for them. Two can use scepter and focus (mes, guard), the focus looks a lot better now maybe I’d want to make and use that one. The point is allowing legendary items to be account bound would be worth while to make and use them rather than just sell them off or not make them at all. It should be about being able to enjoy using them on all the different classes you have and not continually have to stay on that one class just to enjoy the legendary you made. I know they made the trans splitter to allow us to switch them between characters but this just seems… like a low blow and just feels disappointing that they’re constantly looking for ways to gain more money now than looking at the long term of their player base.

This is becoming a daily basis with me. Usually someone is either afk or “D/C” then others follow suit. Just yday our team became a 4v5 then within the other team getting just over 100pts to our 40something 2 others dropped out leaving us in a 2v5. It was pathetic on my teams end for ditching out like that. Honestly since this solo queuing thing has become pvp has become a joke. I see more of rage quitting happening now then I ever saw before this was invited. Honestly I think that it should be a the level rank you are that should count on who you’re with rather than this random assignment we get at least then with the higher level people you tend to get paired with those more serious about it and won’t afk while being queued a lot of the time. Right now, though, I’m starting to lose my enjoyment of pvp and that is just kittens and rainbows.

I’m finishing up The Moot, bought the energizer the day after price increased, X^(
am shy 178 ectos (any donations would be appreciated ;oD). But after this one I’ll be saving up gold and mats for when the new legendary weapons come out. I wonder if the new precursors (and maybe the old ones) will be ascended.

Well, I’m still hoping that the bubbles you can dig up are in the same places as last time in world 1. If that’s the case then you can still get a decent amount of bubble baubles by turning in 250 of them. I used to get more than that in less than 15min so it should be fine, well, if they’re still in the same spots….

I never really understood why they would make them soulbound. There are a lot of people that get a bit tired of playing the same class constantly and like to switch things up and yet due to legendary weapons being soulbound they cannot enjoy the legendary that took them a long time to make on another toon.
I play 3 types of classes constantly, my guard, my war, my mes. All 3 can use a greatsword (which is the legendary I made) but here’s the kicker, if they were made account bound what’s to stop me from making another? All 3 can use the sword, so why not make Bolt? 2 of them can use a mace so why not make The Moot if I wanted same 2 can use a shield or hammer. 2 of them use a focus and scepter why not enjoy those new stormy/puffy cloudy footprints with meteo? And the new legendary weapons will be coming out later this year why not try for one of those?

Honestly there’s just so much more incentive to make a legendary if they were account bound. So, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t.

A month is long enough. As the saying goes: Too much of anything is bad for you. In the beginning of SAB the place was packed but after awhile people got continuously tired of it. Hope they’ll add another installment 6 months to a year from now or even a part II. Maybe they’ll add armor skins. That would be interesting.

If it was possible would you eat pizza every. Single. Day. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner and any snack in between? Wouldn’t you get tired of it? Wouldn’t it just grate on you after awhile?

So no, I do not think it is sad that people are getting all excited about SAB coming back. It is a nice… reprieve, from the norm. Of fighting the same mobs, of zerging the same events, of farming the same dungeons, of fighting the constant tug-of-war of WvW, of fighting on the same maps of s/tpvp.

Yes, this is a nice reprieve nothing more, nothing less. So no, it’s not sad that people are excited about SAB’s return. Of fighting the next installment of the game. Of getting the rest of the SAB weapon skins. Of fighting new mobs and harder difficulties. Yes, SAB coming back is a good thing. I can’t wait.

Conversely, I’ve mentioned this briefly on reddit, but they could also have sigils/infusions dynamically increase/adjust their values based on the type of weapon (two/one-handed) they are placed in.
Examples:
Sword – Sigil of Force, 5%
Greatsword – Sigil of Force, 10%

Scepter – Sigil of Fire, 5 second icd
Staff – Sigil of Fire, 2.5 second icd

Axe – Sigil of Bloodlust, Gain +10 Power each time you kill a foe. (Max 25 stacks; ends on down.)
Longbow – Sigil of Bloodlust, Gain +20 Power each time you kill a foe. (Max 25 stacks; ends on down.)

Pistol – Mighty Infusion, +5 Power / +5 AR
Rifle – Mighty Infusion, +10 power / +10 AR

Dagger – Gain 50% of your endurance when you swap to this weapon while in combat. (Cooldown: 9 seconds)
Shortbow – Gain 75% of your endurance when you swap to this weapon while in combat. (Cooldown: 9 seconds)

Obviously, it would need to be balanced fairly, but it seems like it would be a simple way to bypass the restriction on the item slot and simply have certain values change dynamically.

I can understand having 2 handed weapons double the amount of AR they can get BUT using 2 of the same type of sigil negates one of them making this idea basically a moot point. So, no, it’s not possible to use 2 sigils of bloodlust to double the amount you can get or use 2 sigils of force to gain 10% extra dmg instead of 5%. It seems you didn’t know this and now you do and knowing is half the battle. Go Joe….

All that work to create them and not bring them back? I do understand that people do prefer to keep them rare but it does sorta stinks that they would not allow others to enjoy said items just because a few want to horde them and resale for an exorbitant price or they believe their skin would be devalued because more people can get them (which I never fully understood; if you like the look why should you care others have it and like it too).

Though, I do wonder, if they don’t bring them back does this mean other skins like the Halloween ones won’t return either? Well at the very least I will be making my ghastly grinning shield into an ascended weapon so I can enjoy it on both my guard and warrior.

Rofl..i can say the same about whirling axe.. Moving around, dodge without interrupting skill and damage is slighty lower than hb (spvp version) and i don’t see anyone complains about it to the point i can lol about “op” when something like removing selfroot is suggested as op.

Right now u act like ppl just can’t turn back and run, dodge one time or even intterrupt and thats about it. U probably don’t understand differences between pvp with pve. Skull crack is a gimmick bandfix to make hb work in pvp, like omno pie was abused before in wvw to help us stay alive in fight. In a right build sword beats gs on breakfast.

Also as i posted above -65% duration stun completely negates that build making the warrior a running joke

That’s because rarely anyone uses axe offhand. You know why? Because the damage is not that great in pvp or pve. It does take a half second longer for the attack to end once you dodge but it is interrupted nonetheless. And yea removing self root is op for hb considering its damage output.
And don’t presume to think I don’t know the difference between pvp and pve, I do them both on a daily basis and try different builds to change things up every so often. This only makes you sound arrogant.
And yes you can trait yourself to negate most of that stun duration but at what cost? It’s not like everyone’s a war or a stun war or even has a whole lot of stuns in their repertoire. And yes it is a fad for the time being and it works well coupled with mace shield or hammer and it won’t surprise me if this will most likely change as well and some new build will come into play soon enough to take its place. Who knows maybe someone will find a build with sword that makes people believe that it is way too op as well. I mean you have torment (offhand), you have bleeds and cripples from just your auto attack if traited, riposte can reflect projectiles back to its owner for its duration, which is quite nice as well. Yea, it does seem op maybe it should get fixed too. Doubtful but who knows, only time will tell.
I’ve used both weapons plenty of times in pve and pvp and won’t presume one way or the other, they are both good weapons used and traited properly. The only thing GS needs fixed, I reiterate, is adding a second chain to Rush that allows you to do your final attack anytime all the way up to its full duration.

Rush, hb, arcing slide. In spvp forums a dev mentioned something about swapping hb with arcing slide or rush to burst w/e.

I hope we get rid of throwing gs skill too..its bs, or at least to make it as a block with second ability to throw like ranger has.

There’s nothing wrong with the GS skills. What you seem to be asking for is making it op. I’ve seen plenty of people use this weapon to great effect. So no, bladetrail shouldn’t have an added blocking that’s what whirlwind atk (if that’s the arcing slide you’re talking about) can be there for. Whirlwind atk is also fine as is with its atk and evade at the same time I rather enjoy using this ability while immobile. People tend to get up close and atk during that time so it’s nice to evade and deal extra dmg to them while being held in place. The dmg and cripple from bladetrail is good too with its range and ability to do said dmg/cripple to anyone in its line, coupled with whirlwind or rush to get closer to your target/s. Removing the root in hb would make it op. chasing after your target simultaneously dealing all that dmg to them along with anyone nearby is way op and yeah you could lower it’s dmg output to compensate for removing its root but it wouldn’t surprise me if the dmg is reduced by a lot more than what you would be thinking, say by half or slightly less so, which I think would be a lot worse.

The only thing that I think needs an addition would be rush. I think they should add a second part to it that allows you to execute the atk sooner if need be cause honestly half the time I’ve done it or seen others do it you’re running into a wall or your target for nearly a second before the attack hits which is plenty of time for them to avoid it if necessary.

So other than that small addition to rush the GS skills are well made and I hope they do not get changed anytime soon. And working in conjunction with mace/shield or hammer the GS can be used to great effect as we’ve seen people here defending and arguing against said builds in this thread.

I love the Infinite watchknight tonic. I enjoy using this tonic a lot. Sorta sad that it’s only for 5min. use and a 30min cd would be nice for a much longer use like an hour with a 30min to an hour cd. And so I ask and hope that soon you devs will grace us with the combat quaggan tonic version of this lovely item. I’m sure you’d have a lot of sales just for such a tonic. Please I hope you consider it.

Let me start by saying i have 5 lvl 80s, a warrior included and over 8.5k achi points so i have been around.

During all my time in WvW and sPVP i have yet to see a more overpowered build than this.

Skull crack with sigil of paralysis gives 3.75 sec stun which can be followed by a 100b which has a total channel time of 3.30 sec. This usually results in death unless you use a stunbreaker. Thats nice and all except for the fact this combo can be repeated EVERY 7.5 SECONDS due to burst mastery. IN addition, due to fast hands weapon swap = 5 sec cooldown as well as gives adren.

Let me repeat it: You can perform a 3.75 sec stun due to skull crack —> 100b EVERY 7.5 Seconds. I am repeating this before some “pro” warrior comes to tell me to bring stun breakers. I have tried to go against this build with various builds on D/D ele, thief, guard and mis each bringing from 1-3 stun breakers and eventually you run out of em, At this point, you die.

Also, you can add in a shield stun which ADDS into stun duration. It can also help to land a skull crack due to the mobility it provides.

Last but not least, HEALING SIGNET IS EXTREMELY OP. 400 Hp/sec in addition to regen based on adrenaline (2nd minor trait in defense line) makes for quite a ridiculous regen which is unconditional and can be further enhanced by regeneration.

Now, have come flocking in here trying to defend your OP build. I will not be replying this thread because i know most of you have been longing for a buff for so long and now that you finally go it, you wanna clench to it, but at least show some objectivity in your responses

You can counter the stun with melandru runes. That is it move on nothing to watch here boys, just a bad, whiny player…..move on!

So, everyone should wear melandru runes just for this one particular build in this one particular class…… yeah, that’s just not gonna happen. Silly solution.

I’ve been enjoying this build for the past couple weeks now. It was actually because of this thread that I found it. So thanks Hunter. Unfortunately it won’t surprise me if a-net’s solution will be to add a slightly longer CD to our stuns. Who knows, it may be necessary but I’ll enjoy it till then or till I find a build I may enjoy more.

Gotta quit being so impatient. If they put out the next dragon only a few months later and the next after that what then would they really have to put out after you’ve killed them all off in less than 2 years? And honestly, I’m hoping they remake the mechanics in fighting this last one. It was pretty anticlimactic taking him out with cannons. On a ship…. From a distance…. which they nerfed……… Yeah, that was pretty sad, all of it I mean, not just the nerf. Tbh, I’d like to see all the world dragons we fight updated with better mechanics. I mean what’s fun about standing to the side of Shatterer and taking him out there? That should be fixed so you have to face him up front. And the same goes for Jormag’s lieutenant, standing to the side of him taking down his wall to avoid the ice spike aoes and such.

Just popping in here to note: today’s hotfix has gone live and the karma change has been reverted. Those who spent karma today will be refunded. The office is closed for the night, so this process will start when the team is back in the office and able to work on it. Thanks.

Well that’s a relief cause when that karma change happened i blew 248 jugs over 800 drops and near 1k drips. Will be nice to get all that back….

Do you all think, with the coming mats leading to lvl 500 crafts being account bound that these new precursor weapons and possibly the ones we have now will become account bound? Also, Precursor’s may still drop but will these then become account bound upon acquire. Do you think that if they do become account bound they will make legendary weapons account bound too?

It does sort of seem like they are heading in that direction. Possibly making these new and current legendary weapons account bound upon acquire (most likely then soulbound upon use) rather than soulbound on use which would allow you to sell them.

Legendaries impress me, though maybe not the person using them depending on their skill. I use Twilight myself on my asuran guard and don’t really care showing off to others I just like watching the effects myself. Can’t wait for legendaries to be in pvp so I can use them on any toon I want.

It depends. Which one do you use more? But if you use both about equally then and you don’t like to farm much, then The Moot would be your best bet as Bolt takes 100 charged lodestones (most expensive one near 3g a pop) and it’s bottle necked since you have to do the Dwayna event to open up the sparks. You could also do CoE for them or try for aetherized scrap metal for a lodestone but in the end it’s a whole lot cheaper to make The Moot. Plus it has a nice like footprint. :o)

Since this last patch this glaring problem has become more and more bothersome and the more loot you get the longer you have to wait. I thought the whole idea of clicking the bottom left exit symbol was to speed you along to continue playing the game. I know I could just click to enter the mists but the whole point of that exit symbol would be irrelevant. Is this something that will be fixed in a coming patch? Say this next one?

Yea, I enjoy looking at what other people wear. Most of the time I myself try and coincide with the weapons I use or make/buy certain weapons that go well with the look I have going for me. I even try and incorporate the eye/hair color to match my look. The color scheme can play apart of that but it’s not detrimental to the look they may be going for for me.

A thought occurred to me just a moment ago about AR with ascended weapons. If weapons get +5 AR per will two handed weapons get +10? Logically I would think so since 1 handed weapons allow you to equip two of them giving you +10 AR (besides why would you only equip one 1handed wep.) but I’ve seen plenty of games not do this sort of thing to begin with….

What would you do with 50,000 gems?

Out of curiosity is there a gs, axe/dagger build? If so, what type of pets/gear/jewels/foods/etc. would you use, to use in PvE, dungeons, and wvw (would have both bows for backup just in case)?

DPS meter in WvW could show overall dmg, which would be cool to know. A lot of variables to weigh, but it would be cool to know, anyway. Also, you can still determine the DPS of certain rotations (most applicable to 1v1s or PvDoors)

Rotations? What rotations? Skills have far too much of a situational element for any generic rotation to do anything more than ultimately kitten you overall. People still seem to have trouble realizing that damage/control/support isn’t tied to your character, it’s tied to your skills. Most skills have two or three of these attributes tied to them. While you could cast them on cool down they’re far more effective when used at better times, not sooner times.

Then let’s consider other factors. Say I drop a null field which gets stomped so now everyone in the area has chaos armor. How much damage do I get credit for from the confusion stacks caused by this to the enemies? How do you credit any condition damage at all, be it direct or indirect? Say Joe Necro applies a poison to my mesmer who in turn decides that that is rather rude so he gives the poison back to the necro. Who get’s credit for what?

This game is not built, no matter how you slice it, in a way that a raw damage or dps number can reflect actual combat. You can’t sit in a rotation and optimally fire away. You could be “perfect”, yet blocks, dodges etc. all skew the numbers. A dps meter simply does not make sense in GW2.

I will have you know my Ele has a refined and distinct rotation i use to stack might. Although, it could change if i knew how much DPS i was getting from it.

DPS meters were never intended to reflect “actual combat.” It’s just refined data that can be extrapolated to represent certain areas of combat. Not everything is about straight DPS, so if you rely solely on DPS meters as a basis of performance you are not using the tool or assessing performance properly.

And you think the majority of the ppl that use DPS meters do using it properly? Seriously?

I don’t know about the “majority,” but i will argue that someone using it properly will be less noticable then someone using it wrong. It is in the nature of trolls and bad-mannered people that they make themselves noticed. That doesn’t mean there are only negative aspects of dps meters. And those people will thrive and continue to thrive with or without dps meters.

The only thing a party will look at is how much DPS you do. I will admit that there will be people that use a DPS meter effectively but the “majority,” as you put it, will not. This has been proven time and again in every MMO that has had DPS meters implemented. A DPS meter implemented in this game will be the foundation to crumble everything A-net said this game wouldn’t be.
