Yeah really enjoyed these fights, they had a more epic feel to them. Looks like the devs are really starting to learn how to get more out of their mobs, which bodes well for future World Bosses and Elder Dragons.
Having seen that video a couple of times, I see no indication of Mursaat whatsoever. Not even remotely. Where are you seeing it?
Yep, thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this episode. Even the harder than normal fights felt right to me. Wiped away the disappointment of the previous epsiode completely
Would anyone like some toast?
Just had said issue now
What troubles you?
I’m on the fence about forum interaction. The forums are pretty demanding work for them although I can understand why people want to see more from them. Even the CDI’s have dried up. OK, I freely admit I found them nauseatingly bureacratic, but I was a minority in disliking them. If ppl found the useful and productive, why haven’t they carried on?
What I can’t understand is the complete lack of Games director updates. Every mmo I have played, the GD keeps in touch via some kind of letter on the webpage. I really don’t understand why it doesn’t happen here. China is no longer an excuse. Living Story isn’t an excuse. Typing up one GD letter a month or every quarter isn’t so much work.
The crown pieces needed epic events or involve a great deal more time and challenge than they did considering what the symbolised setting up.
Re using events I agree is an interesting tactic, although the world needs a great deal more anyway, so adding more I still believe is a bigger priority.
As for a piece in Orr….well that wouldn’t work from a story perspective considering Orr was underwater (and leagues away) when Adelbern did his final act.
I’m still confused why its such a hassle for the leaders to meet. Its probably quicker even with Asura Gates to get to the Grove than it is to walk to the next zone for them. Phlunt prob would have taken far longer getting to Dry Top.
Not really seeing a reason why they would be so inconvenienced
Frostgorge still broken in at least one event. WHen getting to the totem, I accidentally destroyed the totem before the event was finished (if nearby and you press F thinking you are looting, you can destroy it early). The story chapter couldn’t complete.
A couple of relogs fixed it, but that’s not an ideal solution really.
Seems very map dependant. I see him killed every time at the moment.
Part of the problem is the event timing though. He spawns and then 5-6 other events spawn during that time, so it isn’t productive to fight him. I only fight him because I enjoy the fight and try to rally as many to his location as possible.
He either needs a HP nerf to fit the timer better or have the sandstorm last longer, then they can sync the events better.
I enjoyed the fight. I thought it would be a replica of the original which would have been a disappointment, but I was pleased to see some emchanics.
Far better than the build up which was decidedly un-epic
I’ll be happy if any didn’t bug out. Even crate scrapper wont tick when I do it!!
Yeah, re-doing DE’s that were in game from launch seemed a lazy way to handle something apparently so big lore wise. Rytlock could have easily got them long before we arrived!
Really needed more focus in an episode or something more epic at the very least.
After the highs of episode 1 and 2, this felt a bit of a let down. It just didn’t hang together too well with some pretty big plot holes.
I don’t mind using DE’s for storytelling, but the cycles were on strange syncs and timers and tagging the story onto old DE’s felt like forcing content to mesh too much.
It wasn’t awful by any means, but a bit of a step backwards in some areas
I liked how he said that his coming would be unpopular. I suspect that was a cheeky wink to the players
The story had some plotholes for me. Why are we having problems convincing world leaders to a summit? It’s not like a trip will take weeks…asura gates and waypoints make travel easy acropss Tyria. It would be no inconvenience for them to meet at all.
Also, why is Rytlock unaware that Mordremoth is already in the Ascalon zones. He said the Shiverpeaks would protect them…but we just left Iron Marces and could have told him?
For me, it didn’t hold together very tightly this episode.
On the plus side, I liked that they involved the wider world and other stories. And that they used world events. It’s a shame they were so hevaily bugged or on constant spawn loops.
Yep, enjoying it so far. Am debating over saving an alt just to play through it at season end as well.
Looking forward to next weeks content!
You can replay any episode of this season at any time you want as many times as you want. No alt required
Yes I know, but I wanted to save one for a full playthrough start to finish without repeating. I really cant be bothered to repeat the story on the same toon more than once, even for achievements.

This has intrigued me. Linking other zones stories is something Ive long thought was necs for the Living World concept to be viable. This looks like a great first step
She has the judgment of a child. .
She is a child isn’t she..?
They were also unphased by poison atmosphere and a giant tower appearing from nowhere.
Keep a close eye on those centaurs…they are our true threat……………
Im hoping for an Eternal Alchemoose mini coming soon to the Gem store.
Insta win – it would fund Cantha and Elona outright
How about we get Maguuma, Crystal Desert, Ring of Fire, and Shiverpeaks first before we move to another continent?
Was just a joke

They confirmed, over and over, Zhaitan is finished.
Again, that doesn’t mean his power is gone, and his corruption through Risen has stopped existing. As I floated above (and I am sure many before me have) – that’s probably part of why Tequatl suddenly turned into a real threat instead of a loot pinata.
(For a couple months anyway.)
True enough, although the devs did point out in the forums last week, anything said in interviews that isn’t specifically written into the game isn’t necs canon. I believe the word they used was “malleable”. A Zhaitan resurrection is admittedly unlikely, but not out of the question based on that.
Karkaaaaas in spaaaaaace
Half Life 3 confirmed
Afaik it is the same writing team. Which says a great deal about how they have taken on board feedback, because so far it has been vastly superior to season 1 and the personal story.
Maybe when the queen is killed, an ancient human magic is broken allowing demons from the Mists to begin invading Tyria, and then we have take the Locket to the Blades… err Shining Blade, and help them track down the heir before the demons. Then the heir uses the magic of the locket to turn into Glint’s baby or something, I don’t know. Then, Glint Jr. gives us the power to head north and yell at Jormag until he dies.
Too much skooma, this one.
Though if people keep insisting to me there are only five human gods, I might have to wonder.
There are four lights!
rofl
They said Tyrian leader. Although the natural assumption is Tyria as a continent..they could mean Tyria as the World, since Tyria refers to both. That opens up…possibilities.
However, that’s likely over thinking things. Jennah seems the obvious target at this stage.
Apart from 2 minor things (suggesting it would be hard to meet the Pale Tree, when no such obstacle existed before and the whole knowing Mordremoths name), the difference in quality from s1 to s2 so far is amazing. It feels like a different writing team as well as a content team.
I hope long term the zone stays active population wise so we can get the tiers going and thus the rewards, otherwise I’ve been really impressed so far. If the quality and content amount keeps going up like this, season 2 is going to be spectacular.
I can give a better opinion with a screenshot
Some of the views high up the canyon, especially over the NW corner…are beautiful
I’ve had no issues joining team mates – I always get the prompt when im in the same zone as them. Not sure what to suggest here.
Have to say, first impressions are good so far. I very much enjoyed the opening dialogue instance and some of the lore set ups with it. And more area to explore = +1
Also some of the views high up the canyon…breathtaking!!

I know plenty of ppl who use them, especially on jumping puzzles. I see zero nebefit to removing them at all – they are not obstructing more traits being added.
I’d too like to see non-rectangular shaped zones – it always struck with me as odd on release. However, I imagine there must be a technical reason for it and it’s a fairly small point for me these days that I can live with.
EOTN areas, largely because I like snowy, mountain areas. The EOTN ones felt cold and isolated. Not getting that feel from the current ones. Dry Top shows they are ramping up the atmosphere, so I’d be excited to see Far Shiverpeaks with current design mindset in place.
I hated Cantha first time round….but…the potential to see Kaineng in all its glory in GW2 could be something special. The Jade Sea in the fractals looked awful though…so I could (sadly) leave that.
I think the CDI is on hiatus largely due to the workload. Seems like season 2 is probably requiring a lot more time and attention based on feedback for S1, then you throw in China release honeymoon period and then any other projects behind the scenes….well I wouldn’t blame them for not being involved with a CDI at this time.
I’d personally rather see;
1) CDI’s run by the community. Without sounding disrespectful, I found the dev interactions rather surplus and uninvolving in the CDI’s. Most of the productive discussions came from the community. I’m confident they would still read them if we kept them up
2) A Game directors update. We’re long overdue something really, although I suspect the 2nd Anniversary will see something. Not sure why many games have quartely or monthly GD letters and we get nothing.
I think a community Guild CDI or an underwater CDI could be something interesting to discuss anyway.
I agree. I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the characters in the books, but Dougal Keane was one of the better heroes. Be really good to see him involved, even in a minor way.
I honestly think for most people, this news doesn’t affect them. Either they are pleased that the game is doing well, or they are impressed with the sales figures while saying, “Not the game for me, I found out, but good for them.”
For me, the news that 7+ million people bought the game is good, but really impacts my feelings on the game less than kitten all. I’ve bought plenty of games that the masses didn’t like. Hell, I happily toil away on a “failure” of a console (the Wii U).
The only people that this news would genuinely upset is a small cadre of “players” who had a vested emotional investment to see the game fail and die because of a misplaced feeling of betrayal that the game wasn’t GW1 with graphical updates.
Nought wrong with the Wii U, still better than the other consoles, sales or no.
As for 7 million worldwide, if factual then the devs rightfully can feel pretty good these days, seeing all the hard work paying off financially. I suspect gem sales to be pretty hot too regardless of retention figures.
If they can nail season 2 and not make it feel like new players have missed out from not playing season1 from a continuity perspective, then the future should continue to be bright.
Yeah mercy has more than one definition and it fits one of those in the context stated by DaiBish
The forums can’t accurately answer this one for you since we don’t know and the devs certainly wont comment on future content incl. festival releases.
However, my advice is keep them. Most festivals tend to return at some point.
Events for sure. Farming dust mites for skily strands will top up a few, but really events is your main way.
And take any alts through the story for the rewards as well
Underwater combat has a lot of problems and is only suited for skirmishes with a small number of enemies. I don’t expect there will be any new major content (underwater bosses or underwater capture points in PvP) until these problems are fixed with a radical overhaul of skills, traits, weapons, utilities, surface state, and camera. There’s no point adding extra skills/traits until the overhaul takes places.
Quoted for truth.
They should start a CDI about this. I have many things to say/suggest about underwater combat.
Why don’t we start an unofficial one?
The open-world content is there for those who want to make their own story and roleplay their own epic tales from their own imaginations.
Most of what you say makes sense, but this is the bit I take issue with. Not because you are wrong, but because this needs to be developed separately alongside the main story. The world doesn’t stop just because we are in Maguuma, but if you look around….it has. The zones and their stories have not aged or changed in 2 years. That makes it harder for us to do what you suggest.
What is going on in Ascalon? How goes the fight against the Fire Legions and the rebels of EBonhawke? It doesn’t need to be a story, but we need new events, changing events. Something new and different to show this evoloving Living World which is meant to be core to the pillars of the game, yet still hasn’t fully been realised (yet)
The devs saying it out of game doesn’t mean they can’t change their minds though surely? It wouldn’t be game breaking if they did find a way to bring him back into it.
I used mace/shield warrior stuns during takeoff. Worked fine, we killed Tootsie with ease after we worked that out.
Some interesting stuff (no idea what the hologram thing is about – seems needlessly obtuse).
The story is shaping up nicely..but lets hope it isnt drip fed too much. Season 1 was maybe a chapter or 2’s worth in delivery. We need a massive amount to happen in the coming couple of months really. As Konig said in the other thread, we dont want to be 3 years down the line and still be waiting for the story to be unfolding.
There also needs to be a great deal more going on in the world, hopefully we will get plenty of side stuff outside of Maguuma. It is a living world after all…….
