Def start from LS2. There are some excellent bits in LS2 (esp for GW1 players) and some much better challenges as well. HoT starts pretty much minutes after the LS2 anyway so it will flow nicely together.
I understand the anxiety thing – i get it a little too when I focus on a single goal, but I wouldn’t get too bogged down in it all here. There wont be another expansion until at least mid-late next year at the most optimistic guess and apart from LS3, there wont be any urgent feeling of “needing to catch up”.
I would also work on your elite spec for your class, which gives you a lot more variety in terms of skill choices and potentially make life a bit easier as you progress in any game mode you choose (some of the elites are quite powerful). If you have done a lot of map exploration in Core Tyria already, you will be well on the way with the Elite spec and will only need a few hero points in HoT to finish completely.
Don’t focus on anything. Just play through the HoT maps normally and you will unlock a significant chunk of what you need as you go along and explore. Then you can start working on specific mastery points and mastery levels.
170 indicates getting 170 mastery points from exploring and specific achievements from HoT, Core Tyria, Fractals and raids and then spending them on the mastery lines. There are different masteries for HoT and for Core Tyria/Fractals.
Grab gliding and bouncing mushrooms first in HoT and start working on the Pact Commander lines in Core Tyria first. Fractals is another one you could look at if you fractal a lot. Other than that, little else is essential and you can progress at your leaisure
Hi, its default as power, toughness, vit.
I want it to change to zerk, nothing seems to be working.
thanks
As said above, you can’t. The level up gear is pvt stats only and can’t be changed (no exotic armour can change stats). It also can’t be salvaged or forged. I had to delete all mine and make new stats.
They give pvt for free as it is a safe option for getting to grips with either a new level 80 or for starting straight out into the jungle. It is designed that way so you can then go craft or buy the gear with the stats you want once you are up to speed.
I think laurels for gems would be awesome, and give me something to spend my laurels on.
I think the OP is suggesting it being the other way round and that they buy laurels using gems.
This is why I always preferred MMO’s and RPG’s to have silent protaganists. Leaves more to the imagination – the chosen voice risks not being in keeping with how I want my character to be and it can break that immersion.
I don’t think it would be a popular direction for GW though.
I’d love a larger range of voices, but I am fully understanding as to why it can’t happen. The only consolation is that at least the VA’s are improving. The PS VA was pretty dismal compared to HoT and beyond and that might go hand in hand with the general improvement in what is being written for them.
Daily mystic forger comes up 4 to 6 times a month. Now there’s Ley Line anomalies to hunt down that drop one as well.
I’m currently crafting the backpack, and have been saving up mystic coins. If as you said the Daily Forger comes up 4 to 6 times a month, your acount is bugged. Because there’s no way I would miss a single one of them, and I’ve only seen 1 in the whole of august,
The schedule shows it appearing 5 times in September alone
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily/Table
I can’t remember how many August had, but I’ll see if I can find a list of dates
Let me get this straight, you want a finisher of a charr screaming in pain whilst flames lick at its fur, burning it alive?
We should be friends
I agree a timer is unnecessary. Anet utterly adore timers, but they can be cheap and old hat for a modern, progressive game like this. It’s not so bad on certain bosses, but it has zero value in this situation.
Forgive me if I am misunderstanding here, but don’t follow a colour too far. Stop every time the sensor skill recharges and check location. Unless you are moving whilst you are doing it, you should always be on the right track if you do it like that. If you are doing that already, I’m not sure I can really advise further.
Also make sure you are standing still. If you move whilst activating it, the sensors don’t move in alignment with you and you end up going the wrong way. Just don’t stand still on a hill either.
Ignore the symbols, they have no relevance unless you have colour blindess, then they are a way of differntiating the sensor distances easier. All you need is the above colour code for approx. distance and you are good to go.

In their defence, they also massively improved their tech to handle so much more players in one space after that event. If they re-ran that event now, the problems would be vastly reduced in terms of the % of ppl affected by the lag. Some good did come out of that event.
Having said that, the concept of one time events should never have been put onto the table in the first place. I am also glad it never expanded further, although unfortunately it did evolve into LS1. I don’t mean unfortinately because it was terrible, I mean unfortunately because it was temporary in nature and caused the big story hole we have now.
Map wide boss is an interesting idea, but I am unconvinced the appetite exists in the game amongst a large enough portion of the population for it to have sustainability. I can forsee a time where bosses/maps like DS and Gerent are going to struggle 1-2 expansions down the line as it is.
You should state EU or NA to make it easier to find ppl
It’s intended. The achievements are tied to the precursor crafting only, not to the actual legendary. If you obtained a precursor via a drop or the forge, you do not auto unlock he achievements/collections.
So if you want those points, you need to craft the precursor, regardless as to how you obtained it before.
As I said in my Uzolan thread, the mix of crafting and collections worked well there. I hope we get more of that. Perhaps with just a tad less insane RNG..
Well, I decided to sell off my bank assets and just finish it off. Might move it, but it’ll do there for now. Def a nice decoration!
I like the idea of mixing crafting and collections like this. Despite the wild rng, it was more fun than making a lot of the other decorations.

Might be worth stickying it if it drops off. Or starting a new thread and stickying that. It’s getting quite bulky and a little slow to load a given page
All of core tyria alone will not fully complete your elite – you will still need to do some HoT to finish off, but only a handful since they are worth 10 instead of the usual 1
They were going to do something during the original development, bu scrapped it at the last minute due to resources not being available to complete it and keep it going if memory serves me.
The character select screen will say the exact % each character has completed of World Exploration
true, but you don’t need to explore every area to complete world exploration. Most of the jumping puzzles in the game are unmarked and open up a discover able area. I was initially confused when I got to 100% but like some areas were 174/176 or something like that.
Oh you mean those areas. No there isn’t a tracker for other toons for those bits beyond the account wide achievement which wont help you with new alts.
The character select screen will say the exact % each character has completed of World Exploration. Bottom left hand corner you can see in the screenshots below one toon is 100% and another is 62%.

Most of the music since launch has been exceptional in my book and some HoT ones have elevated to being exceptional.
Battle for Tarir is one as is one of the lighter Auric/Tarir ones. Rata Novus is perhaps the best of all of them, but the sound studio are generally doing a really great job.
My only criticism was a lack of new music for Bloodstone Fen. It just reused Verdant Brink which isn’t the most exciting.
Well, I didn’t read the entire thread but I think I’m the only one who just enjoy wondering arround in the leveling zones just doing events, looking at landscape and listening to npc’s conversations.
I do it too, but less atm due to so many in game projects atm. Once I’ve finished kitting out this Guild Hall, I’ll go back to playing as you describe whilst levelling alts.
I do use a big range of maps though. Depends what the current map rewards are, so it def isn’t poitnless using other mats post-80. Possibly less efficient, but I don’t play for efficiency
Unlikely.
Someone may be kind enough to link the Dev responses about why, either from the Forums or Reddit.
Good luck.
And a hero steps forth!
It wasn’t as terrible as many made out. It just feels very clunky, which considering the smoothness of GW2, makes it very unintuitive and out of place.
It needs rewards though. There is no excuse for no rewards or achievements. There are only ever going to be a fraction of players who do anything like this purely for fun alone and it needs something to encourage more than 2 man teams and get it going properly and more regularly

Holy wow! I didn’t even know that list of chest existed, thank you! As you say I got it 5-6 chests down. As for the adventures, just do each of the easy ones each day. It’s tedious, but I got mine after 30-40 adventures.
Now, I’m looking at the actual recipe to make the Orchestra. Gift of Magic, Gift of Music… So it’s a legendary decoration? Seems so.
You are welcome. The adventure one finally dropped for me, so I’m into the final crafting bit now. I’m just selling off assets to buy what I need and should be done within the week.
A few reasons;
- the simple gameplay means I can pick up and play and fill any timeslot I choose
- The downscaling means every zone is relevant and means I can vary what and where I play
- The variety of what I can do is staggering, whether its messing around in pve, farming, easy crafting, WvW, PvP, fractals, dungeons, story. Most MMO’s have variety, but not as easil;y accessible as here
- I always feel rewarded. Even blues and greens give me mats I’ll need for something
- It’s easy to set targets through collections and achievements. I always have a goal (and always too many lol..)
- The variety of social looks is staggering – so many options I can play with. I don’t like the fact that they’ve lost a sense of a specific GW2 style with all these wings and wearing White Mantle gear etc, but I can’t fault the variety. It is outstanding.
There’s a lot wrong with the game (for me) – whether it is the lack of LS1, the reliance on grind for most things, the wistfully poor communication and interaction between dev and community and the inconsistent deliveries of quality, regular content (largely due to direction seemingly changing on a whim). However, none of these are outweighed by the advantages which overshadow the problems greatly for me.
Only Anarchy Online has ever matched the interest and that more sporadically over the last 13+ years. Lotro died for me after Rohan came out and it never regained its glory. GW2 still remains fun for me after 4 years with barely any break.
The problem with Flax Fibres is the fact that WvW players need them the most and have no reasonable way of getting them in their game mode.
WvW players suggested the cost of Supply Sacks to go down to 6 (or 4) when Anet tweaked Scribing in April – which they have not done (nothing WvW related really was fixed concerning Scribing; same applies to the Cost of 3000 Badges of Honour for a Mist statue).WvW players need a War Supply Track that replaces the Boxes 5, 15, 25, 35 & 40 from the Hero Weapon track with Greater Boxes of War supplies (2 Supply Sacks, 1 random T6 fine mat, one Exotic backpack, 20 Badges of Honour + 2 Clovers for the final box)
This is a good idea. Hope the WvW devs pick up on it
I think it’s the opposite. They defeated Primordius long ago and regained their organic forms. Since then they’ve been breeding explosively and now there’s so many of them the stomping of their little dwarf feet is causing the tremors. Overpopulation is forcing them to return to the surface for more space and resources. The next expansion will be about a dwarf invasion of Tyria.
Even though I know you are kidding, having thousands of Kilroy Stonekin offspring charge up through the depths would be a photobomb moment
As long as they don’t lose interest in gliding by the time new expacs roll around, in the same way underwater was so dramatically dismissed, then potential exists in pve at least. The early seeds are already sown with the LS3 content.
I doubt it could ever be converted into a new wvw/pvp map just for balance reasons. Perhaps an activity instead.
There are two possibilities:
- ANet also recognized this issue more than 10 seconds before announcing legendary armor (and this is one of the reasons it cannot yet be obtained, because their solution has taken longer to implement than expected).
- ANet hasn’t read any of the posts about it since they announced legendary armor and they have no plans to deal with the issues of changing builds that exist today, let alone the new ones introduced by the new armor rarity.
It’s taking longer to implement because it links to future content and they didn’t want spoilers added. I believe they stated the next raids would be required.
That does not discount any possibility of adding sigil swapping though.
I got the adventure one almost right away. I’ve been working on the chest one for a few weeks now with no luck. I assume it drops from one of the strongboxes.
Open world or strongboxes apparently, however I used this after not getting the strong boxes and it dropped a few chests down the list

Support are pretty generous if you miss a sale by a few hours. They do understand ppl have lives and can miss these things. I got an item I wanted which I missed.
Of course a few days later I discovered I already had the outfit in my bank packed in the chest from the last time I bought it…..
That top pic is awesome
Thanks, at least I’m not the only one noticing it. I’ve reported a bug in case a drop rate problem exists. Otherwise I’ll keep chipping away on them all every day until it drops.
On the plus side, I have a few more golds than I did…On the downside Fungus Among Us may break by spirit forever..

One extra tip is to be still when using the sensir. If you are running whilst using it, the clouds up behind you and pointing the wrong way. Also make sure you are on a flat surface ans not a slope
I remember being surprised when a massive box arrived before release and this larger than expected chap grinning toothily at me…
Hopefully year 5 will give another choice.
If not..well what can I say. I feel sorry for Support who prob got inundated for the sake of actually communicating how this works in the game/patch notes.
I got a question about seis, maybe someone can help me. I wasn’t able to do the task in frostgorge sound because I was away. Is she returning to this location after a full cycle or is the achievement no longer obtainable for me?
Thanks in advance for any responses
You can still do Frostgorge after she has left
Has anyone done this recently? I’m on 3-4 days worth of doing of every adventure silver/gold and still the collection item hasn’t dropped.
Anyone else had issues? If not, I’ll put it down to bad rng..
I don’t find them hugely rare, especially since they also drop from jungle plants, which gives two sources for the material to drop. At least they aren’t as rare as Freshwater Pearls or Maguuma Lilies which is insane
FOr a consumable yes I agree 12 is too much though. 2 is waay too much of a drop though.

Has she moved from FG completely? Do we know if she will rotate back for those who missed the first map?
I like the name
I once agreed with the OP, but as time went on, I found them a tedious chore. They were only ever added late in development as a response to players wanting better guidance through the game
They have developed their dynamic event technology and creativity to do this better now so hearts are no longer needed. Orr, Southson, Dry Top and Silverwastes have all been added in the last 4 years (Orr prior to launch) without hearts so we knew HoT and future maps would not get bogged down by them.
The cap needs to stay – it was in part requested by the community in the first place;
- allows newer members to catch up to veterans
- players didn’t want to feel like they had to login daily to stay on top of ap and not be punished for unable to login for one day due to any number of mitigating reasons.
The 2g reward mitigates any need for removing the cap since it gives an alternative reason to do them
The dev team likely hasn’t responded because this is all drumming up discussion. And that’s exactly what any dev of a game usually wants – speculation is usually good fuel for a game. I don’t agree with that stance here and it is a shame not to see interaction over the current events since by and large I like these little fillers as a concept.
Yeah there are diff tiger cubs (one with barely visble stripes which u prob saw) which you carry around as part of the chuka and champawat collection 3. Once completed, you can use a journal to activate any tiger cub on your back at any time.
Was a neat addition
Any mention on the livestream?
I think adventures will finally break me this weekend. Spent 2 days doing every adventure, aiming for silver-gold on all just for 1 rng drop for Uzolan’s collection. You get to know them pretty well after repeated attempts and some never get any more fun or satisfying..
Maybe tomorrow cry
It wasn’t each month, it was something they did a couple of times iirc
The Mr Sparkles one was cool though
I wouldn’t say these are huge QoL issues. A trip to the treasury takes a loading screen since u are put next to the treasury NPC on arrival. I do like your donate from inventory idea though.
I have thought about a withdrawal UI for guild items before and it always runs into the same issue and that is abuse of the treasury. Anything that can be removed either directly or via a crafting panel, will ultimately result in some cases of players not using them for the guild, but for themselves.
