Why would I want to play a Revenant healer? Might as well go play druid to heal effectively and reliably

in WvW this is 100% not the case rev burst heals for 8-12k on a 2 second CD while providing protection and alac. Only an auramancer ele can compete with rev for WvW healing.

Provisions master and Siege bunker need to be maxed out first. You can choose whatever else after those.

siege bunker siege damage and provision master up to all but the last rank are absolute top priority. after that i suggest supply master.

from there it depends bunker characters usually go with ram then cata glassy builds go AC then cata

then shield gen is kinda sexy

after that go treb/mortar/cannons everything after that is extra.

The Meteor Shower changes realty hits ele hard in wvw for being a siege clearing class now you can no longer kill siege with out other siege. That going to need to be fixed badly.
Who even in charges of ele balancing at this point this seems to be a major over sight.

this is true but to be fair a single ele could clear siege faster than a ballista honestly two meteor showers would take down an ac or ballista

at the very least tablet will now be a beloved heal feature in WvW. i already healed 10 people thru 20 with ease. a bit more practice and build tweaking and im sure i can hit 10k heal bombs. sprinkle light field projectile absorbs rejuv protection and condi clears it could be main heals for a zerg almost on par with ele. if they just slightly upped the range of its heals it would be unstoppable.

The meteor shower nerf is extremely painful to say the least. Well, on the bright side, armor of earth, arcane shield, and ride the lightning has their cooldowns reduced. Ridethe lighting is back to it’s pre-nerf days and if you hit a target, the cooldown should be less than its initial release version’s cooldown (15 seconds if you hit a target as opposed to initial release’s 20 seconds).

The nerf to meteor shower makes me wonder if meteor shower was the major culprit or if it was a combination of meteor shower + pre nerf lava font.

Staff is becoming a liability now. No flow in fire what so ever with the LF nerf from the last patch. Read through these changes and was a bit perplexed. Until i read that they INCREASED the dps on both guard and warrior. Now i just don’t care about any of it anymore…

no flow? describe the flow prior and how this has reduced it. staff ele has always been and will always intend to be a slow weapon. its designed to be pve and WvW, in 5v5 pvp your an idiot for picking a slow weapon.

read the entire revenant section they changed A LOT on the tablet. its practically free to use now. and its core healing ability has more to gain from healing power. its still no ele healing but its atleast more useful than it was and honestly i find tablet heals to be fairly useful in WvW.

I know it’s not fair that 10 people have to defend against 50, but is it any fairer for 40 people to not be able to play at all or to have to transfer because of something completely out of their control?

Also this is really easy to abuse – just park a few alts on one map and lock one server out, then let the other server freely k-train the map.

Would be funny to see afk wars 2 though

parking alts would only lock YOUR server out tho ….. i mean i suppose you could multi box free accounts on enemy servers but thats A LOT of work for little reward.

Warriors:very popular front line face roll smack down “artist”
Guardians:boons boons boons heals boons and did i mention boons? yah its popular
Revenant:boons armor healing less popular version of the guardian really. 1/10 ratio of rev to other players is still suggested as its a very valuable thing.
Engineer:unpopular roamer that does very little in zergs. their ultimate is great antizerk tho.
Thief:popular roamer is popular you simply can not be caught period. did i mention zerg usage? yah there is a reason for that
Ranger:1500 range is highest in game and rapid shot is one of the best ways to down one player at a time. you dont need many in a team and they have a very high skill floor in comparison to other classes
Mesmer:one or two is plenty but is almost mandatory. team stealth exists and portal bomb/escape instantly wins team fights.
Necromancer:condition bombs are nasty. also the class has innate survival due to shroud being super awesome.
Elementalist:AOE is god in WvW elementalist is the embodiment of AOE. a single zerker elementalist can put out the damage of 5+players and if protected by a good frontline can put hard stops on enemy zerg advances.

all classes have value in a zerg but you need more heavy armor classes while those 1-2 mesmers make a HUGE difference a 3rd or 12th is pretty pointless when you could have another ele.

nah bro that would suggest revenant was near complete. i mean honestly look at how many weapon choices we have. look at the fact that we dont have an extra couple utilities per legend so you can pick how you want to play each legend. usually utilities are broken down into “sets” like traps shouts wells physical banner cantrip ect. and you usually have 4 of each per class revenant gets told to kitten off you get 3 of each and if you use one you use all. in exchange for that bullkittentery you get to select two sets but in exchange for that pleasure we will make sure you are limited by energy so you cant make full use of them and your weapon at the same time.

Dont forget the poor underwater combat. Anet: " lets give him just 1 weapon for underwater, 2 legends which are easiest to redesign for water and just ignore the others. What? Herald? Nah, ignore it. Wastes too many time – they will buy HoT anyway!"

you cant even use glint underwater and all of glints abilities are center of caster aoe buffs the sole thing that would be hard to redesign from glint is the active of the swiftness signet.

but hey anet has given up on underwater combat so its cool that the new class is terrible at it and all the classes are majorly out of balance with it. never mind that mixing more underwater combat into the game would be an epic way to upgrade combat variety. imagine a new borderlands map where garrison is under water. or a new eb map where smc is underwater. would LOVE to fight gvg underwater.

Why, they already have a quasi-balance system in effect which is to roll servers together. That system certainly needs to be dialed in better but no reason to create another layer.

the fact we are still seeing outnumbered buffs is how you know more still needs to be done. honestly have you ever seen that buff and thought “its ok we can still take the enemy team on”

This may not be a good idea because of the link system. The better option is to simply merge servers. More people, more fun. Less people, less fun.

Black desert did it, and it saved that game.

if any team has x more players than another team then they will obtain a Que for that map. set that number to something like 10 so if green has 20 players on eb and red has 25 players than blue would find themselves capped at 30 and that would go up as people join green.

this would not only encourage t1 guilds to transfer to smaller servers to that they can join WvW more frequently but also would encourage guild to run multimap making BL fights more interesting.

lol what does seeing that buff give you comfort or something? the very fact that the game enables fights to reach that level of imbalance is an issue to begin with.

Devs play on a lot of different worlds and move around frequently and that includes the WvW team. However, the WvW team also plays together on a different random world once a week.

Have you thought about delay streaming, or putting up videos?

putting it up on a 30 minute delay stream would help mitigate people complaining that you dont care about WvW without having to actually do anything i mean setting up a stream takes 30 minutes then just 30 seconds to turn it on and off when you play

From the looks of the picture still have your keep.. so build some trebs and clear out the tower?

You also got a bad roll with a t3 server rolling down to t5, just going to have to wait till it blows over, not every week is going to be dreamland matchups, that’s the cost of having some randomness to the system.

If you look carefully at the picture you can see a few reasons why this won’t work.

1. Counter trebs are already up
2. They have at least 1 shield generator most likely 2 or 3
3. Enemy zerg is also near the tower (red dots on mini map) protecting it.

We can also assume from this snapshot that the keep is under attack as you can see one of the trebs arms in the upright firing position.

so what your telling me is at all times the enemy zerg has every tower sieged to the teeth and all siege manned. and these people are just standing around earning nothing doing nothing until you attack? honestly bro just PICK A DIFFERENT TARGET!

i have to avoid t3 towers behind keeps all the time hell i dont think your honestly supposed to be able to take those without going the extra 10 miles. the whole locational balance of EB is what makes it great.

smc can hit all one center tower per side and be hit by one center tower per side. each center tower can hit their respective keep and be hit by their respective keep. each outer tower can be hit by and hit their respective keep. so long as you keep your keep sieged your towers have protection so long as you hold an enemies tower you have opportunities to hit their keep. so long as you have center towers left you may push for smc so long as you own smc you may easily push for enemy center towers. the whole map is a giant game of border management. that said siege stacking and wall hugged catas need to be nerfed. perhaps if a cata is inside its splash damage it gets hit? and siege other than ballista and arrow carts cant be placed within 300m of each other?

if siege existed in cs go, it would be like spamming smg that hit everything in a 10 meter radius at sniper rifle distance. behind cover.

if your guild of even 5 cant fight thru a single siege engine and take a tower then your a failure plain and simple. siege slows enemies teams down the only time siege ever shuts anyone down is if you end up with 6+ arrow carts in which case you can just shoot them out with either ballista or cata from a distance.

Well that’s a strong argument.

You can make any correlation you want to justify it. The question is if it fits the theme of the class, not what other classes have. Does a big chopping GS fit the theme considering the flavour of the current weapons they have? I think that’s a stretch. The weapons currently have a very magical-enhancement flavour and go slightly against the grain of what you would expect them to do, like hammer being range and staff being like a hammer.

I think if Revenant does get something like a GS, it’s flavour is something more like mesmer GS than Warrior/Guardian GS. It not only important to consider the weapon, but the context of the class it’s attached to. We see this with other classes too, like Necro Axe and Ele Dagger. Just wanting GS on Revenant will not necessarily result in the concept you are thinking it should be.

The real question we should ask is what flavour we want another weapon on Rev to be.

i would honestly rather it be a 600-900 range condi version of necro GS

A condi (or hybrid) ranged weapon whichs #1 doesn’t aply condition with every attack and has a 300 unit range? No thanx, the mace is already better.

cripple to keep them in bleed and torment to deal damage that is a condi on each attack…. infact it covers your bleeds so that condi clears dont always prevent the damage what more could you ask for other than maybe range but honestly im trying not to be overpowered here.

Ranger’s shortbow or Necro’s scepter seem to me a good examples of condition ranged weapons. None of them are op.

yes but this is a 3 enemy cleave i mean i suppose it could be a 600m ability with a small aoe around or even behind the enemy for example knock the soul out of them and hit enemies in a cone behind them. but i feel hitting more than one enemy on the auto attack is relevant on this weapon.

Lore wise having a Thief wielding a two handed greatsword or hammer lacks sense.

Abut the topic: I would love to see someday greatsword as a Revenant weapon, but NOT in the next (second) expansion. The class currently needs a ranged condition (or hybrid) weapon due the condition builds lacks any pressure at range, but a pistol, longbow, shortbow or rifle would fill the task much better due ANet already did use the greatsword as ranged weapon with the Mesmer.

im semi kind of ok with them not having a ranged condi options i woulnt mind mid range great sword condi like 300-900 range on the skills so long as they are all aoe oriented. also projectile reflection and team retaliation would be a good place to start. here are some prototype skills

1:300 range 3 enemy cleave deals cripple first strike bleed second torment third
2:900 range leap finisher creates 4 second long toxin field
3:600 range grants allies 5 seconds of retaliation and chills enemies
4:600 range cleave draws enemies to you and deals 3-6 stacks of bleed based on their distance from you
5:900m dash to location placing a 4 second projectile reflection bubble at your landing and fire field on both your path to and circle around the bubble. projectiles reflected from the bubble burn foes.

If you defend with fighting you’ll get a lot of bags. Get a group together, get organized and get bags the fun way.

yes but its more profitable to be on the attacking end because then you get bags tower cap bonuses the supply from that tower the karma ect ect. being an attacker is REALLY profitable while being a defender is meh here bro have a few bags if you can stomp them from siege distance that is. but honestly if your looking to profit its easier to give up the tower then recap it. the solution is to reward defenders over attackers.

Look at necromancers, they gave them a greatsword and it is trash.

there are plenty of other builds tho all of ele weapons are viable you could roll bunker and go DD for either condi or strength. S/D? sure works just fine.

but if your going to WvW in a large group nothing makes a cataclysmic impact like a staff zerker ele with an obsession with fire.

You may have just convinced me to spend my 80 level book thing on my ele for those times I just feel like zerging around

tread with caution if your team is bad or has a weak front line no matter how good you are the enemy will shred you instantly. but if your team has the iron clad front wall your meteors will melt the enemy team for over 6k per hit and 4.5k on auto attacks. and if you want to end lives overcharge either fire or lighting. and if you want to cover your tracks when your team retreats overcharge water or earth.

buffing the rewards for defending your towers both on a progress for the team and player value.

successfully defending a tower should grant you a champion bag as if you killed the lord. also it should grant the tower either “Yaks” towards upgrading the tower to the next teir or if its already t3 it should grant supply or free partial repair. This would encourage small forces to fight off large teams in prolonged battles instead of just letting them take it and then flip it back before the tick, for more profit.

its not a perfect solution but it would break up ktraining a little bit and force you to have to really fight if you want to paper that t3 tower.

working on an expac is not an excuse to leave one of the most important additions of the last expac in a half finished state. bullkitten like that is how you destroy a game before you even get to that next expac.

Maybe they’ll squeak one in with the patch. We got plenty of Ascended material eaters.

Though, max luck is still a “hardcore” or “you did this to yourself” issue, so I’m not sure if ANet’s inclined to fix it just yet.

All this luck is from normal gameplay no farming. Im a WvW player.

That’s bizarrely impressive. Most players that cop to it say either:
They salvaged ecto to get to max early on
They’ve played ‘regularly’ since launch and still don’t have +200% MF.

I hadn’t imagined WvW to be that lucrative.

wvw drops luck and ascended crafting materials like they are pieces of copper i get a stack of blood stone every day i play.

this doesnt actually improve anti blob gameplay all it does is empower roamer gameplay. the thing is im facing yaksbend atm and honestly i needed bloodlust to fight against them we cant hold blood lust for more than 5 minutes because they have a near infinite supply of people to send out on roaming orders. honestly a decent commander has command over their roamers too. i consistently organize roamers to go flip camps or tap garri to force enemy commanders to move.

it isn’t meant to be " Anti-blob". I said it promotes thoughtful tactics for both small and large group engagements.

As someone who claims to use roamers and has control over them I would assume you would like a mechanic that makes them more useful then just a scout.

the problem is my zerg has usually around 3 teams of 2 roamers yaks bend can field 4 teams of 5 roamers that would allow them to hold our camps and slaughter our keep while we are fighting inside the keep to defend it. so this honestly wouldnt empower smaller servers it would just change playstyle a little bit. honestly a good change but not one that will solve our problems.

Glint has no costs to its actives because it has costs to its passives.

Glint is not mandatory for the passives.

Glint is mandatory because without it you miss out on 9-12 might, perma fury which boosts you to 80%+ crit with roiling mists trait, and the access to the only movement speed rev has in the game — swiftness.

Just 9-12 might for yourself and the group is huge. Boons are an immense power source in this game.

The revenant used to have high base damage and coefficients on mainhand sword so going without boons was bearable.

After nerfing mainhand sword and hammer, however, the numbers are pathetic if you don’t have boon stacking. It’s why Glint will always be used over other legends.

You can’t exist in this game without boons. Boons are too important to perform.

shhhhhhh talk like thatwill get the duration on that might cut to 8 seconds to balance it with the other legends.

idk rangers can put out some nasty dps at 1500 meters. hell i put out 15k on rapid fire on an ele that was melting my team last night. the only complaint i have is the aoe damage is terribad. but its ability to destroy priority targets is unmatched.
