Free transfers are bad. Cost to transfer being dependent on your current server is not. Transfering to a lower tier server than your current server should reduce the cost while transfering to a higher tier server should increase it. Transfering to a server in a lower rank within its tier than your current server should also reduce the cost while transfering to a higher rank server within its tier than your current server should increase the cost. Maximum cost should be about $50 while minimum cost should be about $5

Server Titles for WvW playtime ?

It’s the opposite – the idea is made to encourage balancing wvw server population by giving a unique reward (a server title) even to underdog servers.

I mean everyone can have SFR or Desolation title…but who can have Vabbi titles ?

I gave examples with Vabbi because they will be the most challenging once and they will require you to go out of your comfortable zone and move to the no mans land.

It will give a reason (even a small one) to all the people who left their servers and moved to another to go back – and fight for their home once again.

so what your saying is make long term dedicated players who are looking for the challenge of being on a weaker WvW server have an extra bar telling them they shouldnt leave? You fail to realize this is a double edged sword it reduces transfers out of low pop servers yes but it also reduces transfers into low pop servers. Honestly i think you just want another title in your pocket

Tanking damage is an important thing. Be sure you play the meta classes (guard, warri prefered) and if you are a heavy run with 3.5k+ armor. Gs or hammer/staff with gua and hammer/sword+warhorn with warrior. Stability, ah build with gua and shout support with warrior. Your personal damage is secondary. Stay alive, keep others alive.

under no circumstances do you need THAT much armor. You hit diminishing returns on the Armor stat at 3k, which is about as much armor as you will realistically need. Once you hit 3k armor, you’re much better off stat-ing into damage.

Nonsense,more toughness will Always be better,if you know your builds you can make sure your dmg is coming from other sources.

true enough a 4k toughness can dishout perfectly good damage if he is build for retal spam and reflects

I feel if they were condensed into a glyph where you could conjure any one of them based on your current element it would be more effective. and doing so would make them more useful in glyph master builds.

nobody is asking for upgrades to be free they are asking for a reward for spending their gold and that is very fair. at the very least you should gain world exp for giving not one not two but a whopping 3 shyts about your servers success and putting your money where your mouth is. and im sorry but if your dropping superior siege like its candy the world your on owes you something and NOBODY would complain if you gained some WvW exp for it infact you can have some karma and glory badges too ill even give you some of mine.

i have had many match ups where its a fight for first place and third place is sitting there at the end of the week with a 5 digit score. If anything the out numbered buff needs to do two things put an auto Q on the servers that dont have the debuff running. and give you stat bonuses based on the number of enemies within 5000 range of you. say if you have 20 allies within that range and 50 enemies you would gain 30 to each stat zero allies to 10 enemies would be 10 points to each stat. this would be just enough for a decent commander to push the balance.

WvW titles sure a few more never hurt but discouraging players from transferring servers is a REALLY REALLY bad thing right now we need all the transfers we can get

who says you need to force people to transfer make transfer to the bottom server in a line up free. and players in the bottom 3 servers gain a few bonuses every week like a free tome 1 gold 1 WvW experience booster. 200 badges. 1 laurial people will transfer to other servers specifically for the sake of a small increase in your alts progression speed

simple stay dodgy in the back/mid lines. as long as your not in the front you wont get focused so you simply have to avoid random aoe circles. plus i run sigil of restoration so when i hit someone for half their health if the rest of their health goes away from either my hit or an allies i gain 900 hp and since i hit their entire zerg for half their health at once the enemy zerg melts and sigil of restoration with no internal CD goes off like a broken alarm clock.

ever drop comet from focus water on a enemies with this trait? if not do it do it now. then switch to earth and earthquake them. then for wvw or trash mobs (lets face it WvW players not on your server are just trash mobs) switch to staff and go berserk with lighting and earth.

1 I doubt that under any circumstance will there be a chain that ends in a knock back

probably but for an elite skill if it only lasted 30 seconds instead of 1 minute and the knockback was only 200 it would be just fine

That’s the main issue, sometimes I forget I even have an elite, because everyone one of them will reduce my effectiveness in 90% of situations. (in pve at least) In wvw they get more use I think.

nah in WvW elemental gets melted using the sword puts you into melee range not good for ele tornado requires you to actually move into melee range and it makes you an easy target kinda like HEY look there is the enemy ele that was nuking us we should kill him first, fortunately his hitbox is now HUGE i can click on this sob from the backlines. I suggest using racial elites like charzooka or even seed turrets

I think a full bunker staff ele does a bit less damage than a full bunker D/D. Staff is superior if we are talking about CC-heal. If my commander asks for more staff ele I swap of course.

I’m in a very lucky position since our core team has 3 staff eles already so they usually let me play my DD auramancer frontline support. Four ele in a 15 large group is overkill for sure

So please consider: not everybody is forced to play staff or scepter and not everybody wants to play as they should.

Columbo: nice build but I don’t like the Rock Solid trait… too much investment for less than 3 sec stability. Would you consider Stone Splinters, Geomancer’s Freedom or -heck- even Strength of Stone (lots of celestial there…)?

the idea with staff is you can build full zerker and be just fine and you will deal MUCH more damage because you have larger aoe to hit more people plus you will have the better offensive stats

Skilled engi is very nice in dungeons but the player will likely get carpal really quickly.

In order of my preference:

Thief – since that’s all I play 90% of the time
Guard – when feeling mentaly challenged that day or when I see the party is full of nubs, it’s amazing how well a guard can keep even complete scrubs alive.
Ele – got asura ele to lvl 80 few days ago and man, it’s fun to play but with nooby party, it’s such a pita in dungeons, gets 1 shot even more often than a thief and in some dungeons, ele seems to get all the agro – 3-4 snipers in CM hitting me at once and completely ignoring rest of the party.. normal.

I feel your ele pain certain dungeons i drop my ele and log in on my necro because kitten my party if they cant even play frontline for me

Ok counter build. This one provides MUCH more survivability while not sacrificing much damage infact you should actually notice a minor increase in damage. Essentially what i did is i took the traits you put into the healing tree apparently specifically to get vitality and put those into earth for toughness and air for crit rate to proc your food life steal and your sigil life steal. The vitality lost from healing is replaced in your gear. And you no longer have a trait to remove conditions on gaining regen (you had no way to gain regen anyway GG) now you have a way to gain regen and vigor by using a cantrip which now have reduced CD. oh and did i mention your cantrip removes not 1 but 3 conditions and deals damage to nearby enemies? This set up gives you more options to GTFO when put under pressure. I switched your elite to FGS not because its good but because its an ok movement tool and it helps you catch up to running enemies as well as get to the back of your allies quickly. I did sacrifice a lot of might for this build tho if your having no trouble staying alive consider switching a sigil out for sigil of strength or out for might on critical food instead. You are however upfront with the warriors and guards so you should be absorbing some of their aoe might and firefield blastings.

WvW build Glass megacannon. 6k crits on heavies with meteors 4k crits with lighting glyph of storms (usually better to use earth glyph of storms tho) auto attacks 2-4k keep a scepter and dagger in your bag at the very least for close quarters locations like lord rooms in keeps best to have every weapon set available tho

PvP build Again keep your other weapons on hand incase your enemy is build with thiefs i find a staff will mess up thiefs pretty bad. and D/D tends to treat me well vs guard/warrior heavy teams. But this build is bunker heavy and you got more heals coming your way than a tank in WoW

build for staff but have atleast scepter dagger at the ready for when your going into a team fight in a location too cramped for staff. I personally have 2 daggers a scepter a focus and a staff on standby to ensure im the most flexible player in my zerg as an ele should be. Also why would I want to be frontline on a ele? i get 6k+ crits with meteor and up to 4k with lighting glyph of storms. Front line on a guard or warrior? sure hell frontline on a ranger sure, frontline on an engineer sure why not. frontline on a necro hellz yah. front line on a mesmer…. your pushing it bro. front line on an ele? yah no you would have to be absolute bunker build and a bunker d/d still does less than half the damage of staff i think your playing the wrong class bro

Siege Disablers Ruined the Game

it beats having to build trebs/cata inside a tower to hit the inside of our own gate in order to destroy the enemy rams. It needs a more visible projectile to encourage blockers and it needs to be blockable from anywhere in its effect are even if the actual projectile doesnt hit the block

I agree reward tracks that only work in specific battle grounds 1 for your home BL 1 for EB and 1 for attacking the enemy BL. You would get points for killing players points for capping anything even sentry and you would get bonus points for killing enemy players/siege in a tower/keep/sm Give us a reason to fight for our tower instead of back capping it in 5 minutes.

In addition defense/offense against guards/lords? does it even matter? get the WvW traits for the buffs at the end of the tree and thats all you need. What good is a 5% reduced damage from a guard going to do when the guards got melted between two colliding zergs? just take agony so you can still do fractals in your gear.

I play this same build, only difference is I have mix of berserk+assassin stats on armors, scholar runes and Lightening Rod trait in place of Shocking Aura. This trait does huge damage and we staff eles have quite a few good interrupting skills (you could try dropping them behind when someone is chasing you for some laughs). :-)

I do have lighting rod in that build its amazing staticfield +push= double weakness duration and less chance to add stability before walking thru. Then earth wall for giggles. I actually run with 2 daggers a scepter and a focus in my bag and i quick change between them very often based on where I plan to fight the enemy zerg. If i plan to be in uber close combat i usually go for scepter/focus for survival since i dont stand a chance in melee range without it. in towers i often switch do d/d stonemist lords room im usually running scepter/dagger. And for the record dagger earth 4 best “bite me” skill in the game with lighting rod

I personally would love WvW reward tracks. I believe every aspect of the game should provide a player with progress towards their characters. In addition WvW Finishers would be a great way to identify our leading players from the guys who started this morning. I tell you what every time i see the pheonix or dragon finisher i make sure to check who dropped it.

I personally think its a perfect training ground. Players learn their class vs a mix of pvp and pve enemies learn basic team fight tactics and get used to ganking/getting ganked. This map has reduced the number of upscales and increased the number of people who have the important masteries like ram and catapult. Removing this would be like putting new soldiers into the middle of afgan. Do you really want to get rid of the training grounds it has improved the overall skill level of the actual WvW maps so much.

Idk it should at the very least be moved to utility or have its CD reduced to 60s. As it is Flame axe is almost more effective anyway. The real beef I have is While I love my ele I can go hours without using my elite since none of them are game changers in WvW. Play a guard and you get Tomes that change the course of a battle, Play hunter and you have rampage as one and suddenly your stacking might faster than a critical fire necro running sigil of strength with ghostberries. play a mesmer and boom whole team double speed GG. Play necro and hey look i get a worthless minion…. hey look i have a cool looking sword that lets me move across the map relatively quickly hey look im a tornado that will hit you three times in the next 20 seconds teeheee.

Eh on certain nights for WvW i switch from my ele to my power necro makes a good bolster to a front line when you have too many pew pew rangers running around your team. And dropping enough wells will make for some effective area denial.

Ah, I see that you haven’t actually used the healing trait that you’re basing your entire build upon…

Restorative mantras only heals at the conclusion of the initial channel rather than at every activation.

now thats just stupid why would they even consider doing it that way your supposed to prep mantras before a fight not during the fight >_> thats like making an ele wait 10 seconds to use skills after switching attunments

It’s not that healing is a bad thing; it’s just not a mesmer’s strong point. The water field blasting works because of the timing (on or between hits), placement (the melee train), and the quantity (each blast can heal 5 different targets). The mantra heal is a PBAoE with a long cast time, a 5 target limit, and we don’t have the armor to push with the melee where that healing is needed the most.

If you only run with a fixed 5-man and they really need the support, then run whatever you want! It’s just that a mesmer needs to sacrifice a lot to bring that support when the role could much more easily be filled by a guardian.

now what your saying is water is more effective because it can get cast at range and 1800 toughness isnt enough to get upfront with the melee?

This isnt a build for myself this is a party build if i want to bring death I bring the ele this is for havoc squads. as for laggy aoe enviroment…. you have lag? heal up damage a bad thing? then why are we always asking for waterfields? Tho the point of mantra heals scaling badly with healing is a fair point and i noticed that while building it but i gained about an extra 300 heal per mantra and since this is primarily a heal/condiclear and stability provider build i dont mind sacrificing my damage for it. For bags i dont have to actually do damage i really just need to tag and I can still do that.

I honestly support additional classes sure we have 8 but why not 10? there are surely infinite playstyles why are you kittening about balance of other classes? this has nothing to do with the balance of other classes it has to do with the number of available classes. I personally wouldnt mind a class that actually used guns effectively as a primary weapon. or one that was built around hammers. also while each class has its own nearly infinite range of playstyles they only have ONE class mechanic. new class mechanics could improve the game as well.
