i would love necro to be a better healer i would do it more along the lines of 10% of condition damage dealt heals allies near the bleed target so that it is more of a front line healer while being thematically fitting for necro healing allies with the blood of their enemies. this would also help heals synergize better would also give necro an excuse to use shaman armor. you could balance it with small caps like bleeds only heal one ally and poisons only heal 3

So, Parasitic Contagion, but less selfish?

bingo baby. sounds sexy doesnt it large quantities of micro heals that are upped based on number of enemies you can hit with your aoes so its balanced for pvp while still being effective for pvp.

There is a possible reason for it but unfortunately, I will not post or tell you. I do not know doing that is consider a bug or unintended effect or simply result of unbalance design. Btw, it isn’t retaliation.

for the sake of determining which scenario it is we might want to discuss whats causing it and if there is anything players can do to prevent the enemy from using it. for example if it was retaliation one could use boon strips like necro well everything in this game thats is intended to exist has a counter measure.

This build is really unusual for engineers but it serves an interesting purpose. It creates a certain hybrid between warrior and guardian. Lots of support options. Team healing protection reflect/destruction fields super speed enemy moas and far too much access to lighting d. also it has a lot of oumph to match its 3.2k toughness and 25k hp. Your elite skill is really up to you the elixir is there because it works well with the stats this build uses asura can have some fun with power suit (probably about the only time you can enjoy such an amusing ability) or you could use the mortar to allow upscales to help out more in dragged out conflicts or help clean walls during siege.

this build does lack conditions so you wont be kittening off any roamers today but you will have the raw damage to punch a guardian in the jaw. hammer engis have a lot of opening engagement power with thunderclap rocket charge electro whirl combo putting out a lot of heat in very little time. once you open with that blowing your CD on bulwark gyro and defense field to guard yourself from the backliners that are about to blow all their big cool downs on you.then escape with by backpeddling with shock shield and bypass coating. now that you have retreated its time to kitten the value in blowing your cooldowns on your medic gyro and reconstruction field for allies or save them for a little later. once you make that decision its time to decide on if its a good time to ult for a second push or hang out and abuse your remaining gyro and tool belt skills then cycle back into the original combo.

now these rotations are all subject to change on the battlefield. for example you might wanna open with moas or a gyro to grant yourself stability. but the premise of the build is pretty solid and grants you an excuse to use your engineer in WvW using some good ol’ cheap gear. Will it out damage warrior or out tank a guardian? lolz nah never gunna happen ever. if you get caught 1v1 with it are you going to die? probably if the enemy your facing is any good. is it fun smashing enemy zergs in half with a hammer and flying bombs? yupperoooooo

anyone else got a good way to abuse engineer in WvW teams of say 10+?

1) condition abuse
2) reflect abilities or protection ones
a) revenant tablet 1 place in the middle of the door where 90% are aimed then tablet 3 (will last about 40 seconds solo)
b)guardians nuff said
c)mesmers need i say more?
3) counter siege ballista mortars cannons catapults trebutche arrow carts shield generators.
4) moar people (primary choice for face+keyboard=win players like the team using 20 golems)

the answer still exists from the prior posts “your build clearly needs work” your probably running zerker and getting caught all on your lonesome. Remember if your running a build that works best to assist your team like a zerker staff ele or a bunker heals druid your simply going to lose vs a proper 1v1 built thief or mesmer dont feel bad about it. its unavoidable. if your in a 1v1 build and your getting insta gibbed like that then you need to tweak your build … well overhaul it really.

I agree you can pick the condi soul and mace axe but your second soul and second weapon are worthless in a condi damage build if you do. Honestly i want heavy access to torment.

I think blinding truths if I was trying to support in melee range (I think it’s radius around you rather than the tablet) and nourishing roots if I was supporting from range?

thats a good detail in that case mostly roots since while i am in the thick of it im blasting the tablet around every 4~ seconds to alternate heals between back and front line as needed and dragging heals against allies as i watch them retreat.

also bonus question do you know if shared empowerments range is base around you or the person receiving the boon?

i would honestly prefer each profession gained one skill for each siege that was related to their profession. for example ele on treb make a ground target meteor skill mesmer on AC how about confusion? warrior on ram why not aoe stability? guardian on ballista? arrows path creates a light field engineer on cata? how about supply drop where the cata hits the possibilities are endless and incredibly dynamic.

The Blood Fiend, Flesh Wurm and Bone Minions are the only minions that do not auto-heal outside of combat. All 3 are types that you can destroy and remake, however I do agree it would be nice if they also autohealed like other minions. (Although since the Wurm is immobile you pretty much do have to destroy it every time.)

i would have to check but im pretty sure goly is the only one that actually does since i remember seeing my shadow running around at 75% health the other day

Shadow fiend, bone fiend, and golem all regen, they are just ridiculously slow about it. Golem’s regen is a tad bit faster but none of them come remotely close to player health regen. Why they made the decision to do it that way is beyond me.

so instead of regen can we call it realistic healing instead?

So do you believe Druid will get unique under water weapons
Or will specializations only use the new weapon given to the parent class?(in this case, staffs)

you seem to be interpreting druid wrong you gain access to staff you can keep the rest of your weapons as well. this would allow us to keep our current water weapons thus be the same old class underwater with a couple new utilities new traits and new class mechanic but our underwater weapons and underwater weapon skills should remain the same

No about towers. As you said, towers can be easily taken so it isn’t REALY a refuge. Also, if you haven’t noticed, in the expansion, it said it was ENCOURAGING small groups and defense. That brings me to my next point, I thing towers need more worth. Either they need
A) to be harder to take
or
B) to be extremely hard to bypass

This is exactly how i feel towers should be choking the map you should never be able to go straight for the keep or the supply camp behind the tower if your going to invade your enemies territory you better have the brute force to get in the decoy on the other side of the map stone mist castle or a mesmer hiding behind a tree from your last time getting shut out. this is exactly what i did enjoy about the EoTM map you HAD to take things to get to the keep and objectives were kept inside the keeps outer wall.

EB as it is now is just weird its like …. here have a tower here … here …. and how about by that rock thats a pretty rock lets build a tower on it …. what about that choke point between that rock and the one next to it? nnnaaaaaaaah i wanna be ON the rock

i wouldnt be surprised with instead of the traditional pet you get summons similar to either necro minions or say mistfire wolf as class utilities in addition to the new class mechanic. also i wouldnt be surprised if pet positioning provided a roll in your new skills such as teleport to pet or create fury at pets location ect ect. lots of things they could do and almost all of them would be nice.

4:80 revenant with full exotic
5:set the preplanned skins for my revenant onto that armor
6:go to eotm and buy every single trait
7:look at my traits and weapon skills
8:pick traits
9:buy every weapon revenant can equip and sigils for each
10: log onto my ele and check out its specializations
11: log onto my alts and check their specializations

Yes… exactly where in that do you plan to learn to play the Revenant? I just see insta-80 and 7.&8. will not go far to teach you the workings of the new class

I’ll be using an experience scroll to get my Revenant to level 20, then run around and get a feel for the character. And take it slowly from there… already got loads of 80s, don’t need an 80 Revenant running around like everybody else.

kitten around in the heart of the mists for a couple hours and i should understand the abilities enough to start doing dungeons and after doing a few dungeons ill test my feet in eotm where i can poke all the upscale revenants that are leveling the old way i prefer to learn to play a class when i have everything that class has to offer at my disposal i dont like spamming one for 3 hours and pretending im still learning how to move forward while swinging a sword

It’s my main guardian who’s going to Maguuma Jungle to learn these new Masteries.

You’re a bit misinformed there, Roz. Engineers are great, yeah, the vulnerability stacks are like delicious icing on delicious vulnerability cake. They’re not nearly as much DPS as an Elementalist though—and they cannot stealth anywhere within the ballpark of ‘as good as a Thief’. I can keep stealth on my party for 30~45s or so, depending, without it ever dropping off. But yeah, Engi are to be loved tho.

Engi dps is not that far off from Ele dps provided you can keep up proper rotations on the engineer. And engineer stealth is more than enough for most stealth skips in dungeons/fractals and they have much more utility than thieves.

I dare you to out damage ice bow lighting storm and meteor shower while pumping out lava fonts infact if you can even deal half the damage an ele can deal in a 12 second period ill be impressed ele can melt a hole thru the map. If you think your dealing “nearly” as much damage as an ele i beg you to really look at all their multi hit skills. my ele always does no less than 1/3rd of the parties damage in any party im the only ele simple as that.

PvP honestly your fine with anything other than a necro they just get countered so easy its not worth it but most common are engi and thief warrior and guard are still very common too

PvE elementalist in every run every time warriors in every run almost every time guardians for people who want the run to go smoothly by covering up the new kids mistakes for them. the rest are there but mostly used by people without an ele guard or warrior. not saying if you have those you wont use your other classes i bring my necro in a lot when a party kitten s too hard and i dont want to have to solo on my ele

And maybe even get a Lava Pool down on your position before going down, and then have another Lava Pool from your Traits pop up. Sometimes the damage of two is too high for anyone to finish you. Even more time you have just won.

I am having a lot of fun with it, getting my enemies frustrated.

A: this OP is talking about WvW not spvp remember?
B:knowing this is WvW stick lava font somewhere it can get tags so you can rally then mistform to safety when you go down. and use that trait for something useful.
C:if you wanna frustrate them get lighting rod its OP vs zergs

How about no? Why force people to suck up GW2’s boring PvE so they can keep a guild hall? Plus I have no doubt that PvE players will moan endlessly if they have to get stomped in WvWvW for a guild hall.

you realize guild halls will likely be constructed out of reputation and merits right? why dont you look at all the places you can currently get merits and ask yourself if your going to have to pve one way or another? i personally would prefer them be thru pvp or wvw only so you have to atleast compete against other guilds for them

my ex girlfriend taught me how to do it you can create maps like this in a couple hours then a few hours of dropping your towers on a few more hours of placing your npc and then drop some foliage rocks what have you then a few days of running around the map looking for possible fall thru points whalla perfect map made using free to use programs. your point is invalid and their excuse is a lie.

Any questions?

Makin the map itself is quick, texturing custom parts, npc pathing, npc events, event zones, event triggering, mobile events (dolly), fort upgrade (massive texture swap, globally), not to mention siege placenent and exclusion. This stuff takes time, lots of it. Especially when events are local, and doubled up (2× attack + 1×defend)

Also making the map to support hundreds of players at any given time, seige equipment, special map mechanics, mobs, nodes, etc.

Sure while making the initial map may only take a few hours, you have to also count in all the other stuff that comes along with it, most of which remains unseen by many, but has a large impact on the map.

As far as lying? If you choose to believe that, thats quite alright. However, I see no reason for the devs to lie about anything. As an Anet respresentative (the devs, not me) their careers could very well be at stake if they are lying. It’s not in thier, or any businesses, best interest to lie. In fact lying to your customers is a terrible way to conduct business, and thats why it’s not widely practiced. And in fact there are US laws prohibiting businesses from lying to their customers. (False Advertising/fraud, obstruction, etc.)

laws are for the povertish if you live in america you know that well. also npc pathing isnt really hard npc behavior a little harder but that already exists new maps would just copy paste that siege placement/exclusion is literally placing circles on the map ….. drag and click and done GG you worked so hard you deserve a raise. events are also always done in a circular fashion where participation of the event which again is copy pasted from existing events is based on your position inside our outside the circle. you guys really think these games are more complex than they really are the majority of the data in these games are simply the texture files. and swapping textures on something is pretty easy doing it without making players reload the map thats pretty impressive but they already have that feat accomplished so good for them.

The problem there would be in WvW. Think about having a small zerg of Necros running around, placing their Flesh Wurms as grappling hooks, taking even Stonemist Castle with no siege at all.

eh with this scenario they would lose the ranged casting probably in exchange for instant casting

You may get more out of 0 6 0 4 4 as an staff ele with frost bow. The trick is to do your bomb fire 5 or frost bow 4 then swap into water for the +20% dmg vs targets that have vulnerability. Due to having at least 5 in air you have a 60% chase on crit to apply vulnerability with no icd so it works with aoe. You could go more on the lines of 5 5 0 2 2 if you want to realty go all in on dmg for the +10% vs burning targets.

A.) glyph of storms lighting works really well with your build and its a similar build to what i run in dungeons.

B.) in WvW is more beneficial to take the 10% bonus in fire as opposed to the 20% on vulnerability due to the sheer inability to control who actually gets hit by your vulnerability and your meteors at the same time. in addition to the massive condi cleansing we see do to guardians being walking light fields.

C.) 10% vs burning targets is more of a d/d trait staff really only burns on staff 3 and thats more of a filler skill than anything since your auto attack hits like a truck in fire attune with a zerker build.

D.) go full 6 in air with lighting rod makes static field a giant bug zapper that crushes anyone without stability. makes gust a damage skill if shot thru the heart of a zerg. and makes unsteady ground something to fear. thus always full 6 in air.

give it a shot hits like a truck if your good enough at positioning to survive.

F.) not something to said wrong just an additional thing. please dear god water 1 the gates it makes your team life so so much longer a couple ele remembering to do that is all it takes to keep the rams pumping. you dont need heal stats to heal effectively. zero healing power no problem drop the waterfield and spam water 1 on the gate or siege.

my ex girlfriend taught me how to do it you can create maps like this in a couple hours then a few hours of dropping your towers on a few more hours of placing your npc and then drop some foliage rocks what have you then a few days of running around the map looking for possible fall thru points whalla perfect map made using free to use programs. your point is invalid and their excuse is a lie.

This is technically a player created solution and its an incredibly simple one. We all know that since the genesis of gw2, population has made things very very unfair. WvW has been on decline below the t2 area. There is a pretty significant difference in numbers. A lot of people I know who were once are t3-t4 servers have moved up to t2 and t1.

Thats what I suggest the playerbase do. Stack on t2 and t1 and if everyone did it, then t3 as well. There is literally no point in having 24-27 servers anymore. The population is almost non existent the lower that you go. You may see one queue on a bl during reset night, and thats.

This is what DAoC did. They never solved the problem. They just stacked on 3 servers. Ye, it would mean queues again that lasted 30 minutes, but it would be better than ded gaem WvW. It would make the game feel like launch day when there was constant battling occuring.

this is literally what wildstar did they now have 2 servers one pvp server and one pve server do you want to become wildstar? no i didnt think so

I dont know about you but the kill title is relatively easy with a decent havok squad wipe 50 man zerg get 30 kill tags out of that wipe and woot kills for a day do that 5 times a day and your looking at 0.1% of your title…. wait alright a little over the top but still a heavy player will get it in about a year the rest of the titles lol not even close to worth it

not true i run full zerk ele and necro daily however my mesmer….. soldiers motherkittener triumphant distortion null field feedback blink mass invis reflecting focus skills the whole 9 yards of defense on mesmer because bruuuuuuh your not meant to be a damage nuker your meant for attrition

feedback kills 5 rangers every 32 seconds i fail to see how rangers could possibly be OP if anything they need a couple of their pokes or CC to be unblockable or atleast give them a signet active that lets them gain 3 seconds of projectile absorbtion
