Laudable attempt, but I’m not sure it addresses the core problem that you identified:

The busiest time of day for GW2 is reset, once dailies are finished groups become far more scarce.

Of course, some of the issue isn’t just that reset is the time to show up. Most of the game is on rails, including the core of HoT. Verdant Brink’s only worthwhile time is only 20 minutes at night. Auric Basin’s money shot clogs about 30 minutes or so out of a two hour period. Don’t even think about Dragon Stand unless you’re in the One Sacred Map.

Many of the Lv80 maps aren’t much of a go-and-play experience, or they demand being around at specific times, so that Auric Basin meta might be interfering with a Lake Doric leather “farm” run.

It really makes me miss Silverwastes, but that got exploited for chest farms or map hopping.

Also, your assessment of the usual “group comp” at Vinetooth is … sadly on point. :\
What’s sadder is that a legion of bearbows actually stand a decent chance and popping Vinetooth’s bar, since he usually jumps far before starting it, and there’s a very small time window to hit with it. It’s very likely that the long-jump/short-charge combo contributes to most groups not breaking him enough to overcome his HP sponginess.

I think you are forgetting an important factor here: timing. Badly timed CC is one of the reasons those bearbows are annoying to have around.

True enough. The ones most likely to contribute to Vinetooth failure are the ones who will explode every icon on their bar for lack of anything else to do. That’s a very difficult thing to unteach to a zerg.

Blegh. I’m not looking forward to having to do a full write up and copy/paste while my apple is up. But I need that kill, so… osu, and stuff.

See… this is just one of those things i’d attribute to the poor learning curve of the core game, CC, Buffs and all that other stuff should be in every build in one way or the other.
The best case there could be would be that every possible build is seen in events, to a degree, not 20 Greatsword Warriors, 15 Ele’s who don’t know how to switch attunement because fire is so useful on it’s own, 65 random rangers with longbow and minion master necro’s/reapers.
Those numbers are of course hyperbole but you get what i mean hopefully.

Agreed. I’ve seen questions from people who have played a while: “What is breakbar? What is CC?” The game does not explain it outside the wiki, and to get there, you have to know what you’re looking for.

Slider just isn’t as good a solution. It’s a blunt instrument when distinct correction is needed. Setting cooldowns (2-3 seconds, really just 2 seconds would help a ton) removes the Troll Factor from the noise, and the firing frequency is the core of the problem.

Probably mentioned this once and again, but the character screen needs a rework:

More characters visible in selection. At 20+ characters (I can’t imagine 60+…), it’s something of an obnoxious scroll to get all the way to the end if I want to play my least recent character. At least being able to PgUp/PgDn to scroll would help loads with this.

Character filters. Daily PvP has Necro in it and you want to find your Necros? Boom, checkbox filter. Need to get those daily ascended crafts? Filter for that too. We could really use some better character management tools.

Show the dailies, please! For PvE, I’d like to know if I can get away with one of my sub-80s that I’m working on, and for PvP, many would like to know what classes to bring in before logging in.

Smaller character model. The size of the character model dominates the screen and wastes a lot of space. And sometimes it still manages to clip off the screen. Squish them down to a more convenient size and let selection options fill in the space.

That and a proper spec’d mesmer (Signet of Humility + Adrenal Shrooms). I’m actually fairly irked that a random Reaper is better at bar busting than my hammer warrior. :\

Ayup. Also, the HP bars are smaller with small groups. Golem Mk-II with 5-6 people drops in about 2 minutes. With a whole map on it, 5 minutes. Vinetooth probably has similar problems in that not only do players have to manage CC for much longer, they have to DPS like crazy, without falling over, to smack down his bar.

Man, this almost sounds like teamwork could be required with EVERYTHING classes have to offer… like.. heal, CC, buffs, damage… wow… but.. yeah, no, that can’t be it.

Funny that you should sarcastically mention “heal” in there, as a buffed-up enough critter can three- or one-shot a player due to excessive damage scaling. But that’s not the point.

Breaking that bar is more vital to Vinetooth’s success than any other boss I’ve seen in HoT, specifically because he’s a massive HP sponge. Add in Vinetooth’s high mobility and very short CC window (cripple, chill, weakness are useless), and it takes a team of rather specific builds to beat him.

Sound Updates

If there gonna look into the sound effects of The Dreamer, can they do something about the bug with it where, if your frames are below around 45, u will never hear its sound effects, same goes for chuka and champawat i believe. I don’t know if its tied to the frame rate, or if it can be fixed, but i would love to see it looked into

I only get 30ish fps, and I hear that stupid bow just fine.

Considering the amount of admitted trolling as a reason for getting these weapons made, it makes me increasingly in favor of blunting their noise and nuisance. It’s not kind to the community to let it continue.

While a nuisance-sound slider for other players might help, making it a blanket Legendary Weapon sound slider would tick me off, and probably many others who own not-annoying legendary weapons. Don’t tie a slider like that to instruments, either, because they’re two separate sound sources.

I don’t see many folks with Quip, but I imagine it’s the same level of nuisance as Dreamer, for the same reasons: high-pitched/shrill sounds at a high rate of fire. So, the natural solution there is to add a brief cooldown. Even 2 seconds in between gives enough pause to not be a river of party favors and neighneighneighneighneigh. Two (2) seconds is my concession. That’s maybe every third shot on Dreamer, and it stops the trolling from Pistol/Pistol rapid fire.

Though, didn’t Dreamer have a cooler sound before? I seem to remember it was more horse-like in the past, before it got some irritating update.

The Dreamer is amazing, keep it as it is.

Also people who don’t like the sound effects of Quip and Dreamer now have alternatives in the form of Hope and Chuka and Champawat.

Yup, recommend a bow that its creators have panned by saying it’s not worth making, because the bow effects and footfalls are too unnoticeable.

I’d like to see, after Dreamer/Quip sound adjustments, a few legendaries get some other adjustments.

Howler’s actual howl can barely be heard over the original horn noise. The wolf head doesn’t move with the horn, either.
Judging by other feedback I’ve seen C&C needs some more noticeable effects, especially the visuals.
I know, off topic a bit, but since this thread’s getting dev attention, I’m aiming a little high.

My biggest problem with Dreamer has always been the frequency. An internal cooldown of 5-10 seconds or only triggering it on non-autoattack skills would greatly reduce the annoyance.

Possibly as a suggestion, see if it sticks, fire off a pony once per cooldown, change the pitch off the irritating whinny (make it lower), and on shots during the cooldown, make it a mellow sprinkling while firing pixie dust. Seems apropos.

Looking at the history of high level rewards in this game you can surely expect another kind of legendary armor to be released down the line or another way to earn legendary insights to get to this one.

This stuff is always exclusive in the beginning – but gets broadened over time. So lets not panic.

Probably the best set of statements on the topic.
While I’m not a fan of the “I do hard content therefore I’m entitled to unique rewards” attitude, I’m optimistic that ANet will release alternate ways to get legendary armor or alternate legendary armor. And I don’t really need it, though I could see it having its uses for someone who raids with different builds of the same profession or WvW, but it’s not that huge an advantage. So I’m okay with it being a raid reward (and yet another material sink).

It’s not the raid rewards that bother me about their inclusion, it’s the attitude problem and the constant push to violate the ToS in order to justify that attitude.

I prefer the old system, because it was skippable. -_-
Not that I spite the story overly much (though it is kinda groan-worthy), but I refuse to put up with it for the purpose of retrying achievements. With the old system, it was easier to program those skip points because it’s built into the scene to get all the little dolls in place before triggering the action.

It scales on the assumption that large groups also bring larger amounts of CC. When people ignore the mechanics, it doesn’t work.

Same thing as the guano hero point: a couple of people can do it trivially, if they do the mechanics, but bring along a third of the group just DPSing all-out and ignoring the mechanics and suddenly it’s failure city.

Ayup. Also, the HP bars are smaller with small groups. Golem Mk-II with 5-6 people drops in about 2 minutes. With a whole map on it, 5 minutes. Bolded items need to be re-tooled/re-made/scrapped:

Salvage Pit – Easy gold
Flying Circus – Waaay too long per attempt, and it pretty much requires advanced gliding mastery to pull off.
Tendril Torchers – I find that my main problem with this one is that not all of the tendrils show up at once, or the flames don’t catch them appropriately. It forces me to waste way too much time repeating the same sections.
Bugs in the Branches – Either just a few more seconds or adding a few extra orbs would do this one fine. I’m usually 2-3 away from gold, but the actual pathing is a mess.
Shooting Gallery – I did pretty well to get Silver, but the targets just spawn too randomly, enemies spawn nearby, and terrain is an issue that blocks LOS/shots.
On Wings of Gold – Easy gold
Fungus Among Us – Prone to skill lag and terrain glitches that block progress. The gold time requires getting a special jump just right.
Sanctum Scramble – Utterly obnoxious, and worse than Flying Circus for time-to-failure ratio. And much like Fungus, there are random niches in the terrain that can snag a toe and fail a run. Sadly, it’s one of those “could have been fun” adventures that falls flat due to numerous execution failings.
Floor is Lava – Also prone to skill lag, and the pathing for it is just too erractic to be sensible. Came close to gold for it, but the timer stops me just a few short.
Fallen Masks – Entirely too random.
Beetle Feast – Can’t remember if I got gold or not. I can’t remember having fun with it, either.
Drone Race – Kinda-sorta aced it on the first go. Remember to have Poison Mastery (yay, the one time it’s useful!)
Ley-Line Run – The failing on this one is less the run itself and more that the jumps are utterly obnoxious due to poor collision detection, forcing a lot of restarts.
Punch-O-Matic – Mash #2 to win. Took a few tries to get gold, but that’s mostly because the chak stopped approaching. Cheesy but not fun.
Scrap Rifle – The heat management and other features might have been decent, except it was way too easy to catch an egg patch in the line of fire and chak don’t actually approach. I mean, seriously, I could have taken an egg, shoved it down a chak-mom’s throat, and kicked it, and they still wouldn’t come after me. It made for a very boring, frustrating chore instead of a wild extermination ride.

So, we once again realize that Adventures might have been okay in concept, but something in their rushed execution left them ailing and unpolished. :\

At release, and for a good time after, participation was required to get the gift. Unless, of course, you just farmed the jumping puzzles.

I got a Gift of Battle bought from medals mostly from Achievement Chests,

Which happened a good time after release (around July 2013).

But there was that blissful period in between, 2013-2016, most of the game’s life, where Gift of Battle was available for badges. There were some moving goalposts, settled at Rank 14, which was easy to get.

Now? Eh, I have no desire to go through that track the first time, let alone the 4+ times I’ll need for the legendaries I’m targeting. 40 track levels is a long time to spend bored.

Doesn’t matter as my entire point was that the game started off with requiring WvW in order to get badges. The game “changed its identity” when it included them with achievements chests and then went back to its “original identity” with the reward track.

That’s your argument for “identity”?

Oh noes, GW2 added QoL improvements again! It’s even more convenient! GAME CHANGING FOREVERS!

Sorry, but no.

That wasn’t a QoL improvement. Sorry but no.

I’m pretty sure that someone would argue that if the game had started out with badges coming from achievement chests, and then subsequently the gift could only be acquired from a reward track years later, people would say that the game’s identity changed. Kitten, they’re doing that right now despite how the game started out like.

Arguing Gift of Battle as an “identity” change at all is the flaw there. It’s so minor, that it’s hardly worth mentioning. And yeah, it was a QoL improvement. It improved mine by a lot! Conversely, it has gone back down now that it requires me to bore myself with Walk v Walk for hours on end to get one.

Oh well. I’m not slamming the game’s identity about that. In fact, GW2 has a bit of a reputation for forcing content on players, so.. I’d say it fits right in!

If you actually wanted to argue changes that signal identity shifts, look at the trait systems. The one at launch was fine enough, but Traits 2.0 was nearly universally loathed, even though it “gave GW1 players what they wanted”. They were chasing old glory and botched it up hardcore instead of designing for the game they made. And then, moving onto Traits 3.0, we see GW2 finally starting to come into its own, designing for the future instead of its past.

Adding badges to rewards chests isn’t a QoL change. If you’re looking for QoL changes then look at inventory/bank extensions, account bound scavenging tools, build templates, auto loot, and so forth. Loot from another source is not a QoL change. Of course we can call the new leather farm a nice QoL change if you’d like.

If it was so minor and hardly worth mentioning, why did you bring it up in the first place?

Why yes, those are also QoL changes! A+ on identifying them, even if most of them were gem store items. I don’t see why alt-loot makes it any different, since it lets one avoid annoyance or tedium in attaining a goal. Even the leather “farm” could be a QoL improvement. If it worked properly, instead of being a T5 faucet.

Granted, it’s a glorious faucet though. Spent a short while at the camp at the bottom, not even farming the stupid mountain, just the camp, and skipped away giggling with a handful of loot.

But, that’s not really related to “identity”, so why bring it up? Unless you consider mismanaged materials part of GW2’s identity. I know I do. ( Economy on the whole is still fantastic, though. That still makes me )

Also nobody urinates in the world of tyria..did you see any toilets around?

IKR how is this sustainable?

Magic!

When it comes to some fantasy universes, world-moving phenomena are generally attributed to something ubiquitous and generally magical. In FFX and X-2, it was “spheres.” in XIV, all crafting required “crystals,” which is common to the intellectual property and fantasy tropes in general.

So what ubiquitous magical thing does GW2 have?

Dragons!

That’s right, dragons are somehow responsible for our bathing and poo.

The “200+li arcdps or kick” group is so sick of grinding raids that they just want their loot, as fast as possible. For them, there’s no room for a minute’s delay within the raid, even though they’ll wait an extra 15 for someone who fits their elitist description. They no longer want to explain fights, entitled to the belief that YouTube should be everyone’s mentor, instead of having a copy-paste set of instructions that could easily be used. That’s not the GW2 most of us know.

You must not have ever been in WvW. metabattle.com is the worst thing to happen to this game besides the implementation of overpowered conditions and the removal of a skill based game.

I have been. It just bores me. 90% walking, 10% action that almost never happens.
Hiding the Gift of Battle behind the Walk v Walk reward track was a horrid decision that I will spite until the servers shut down.

Which just adds to my perception of GW2’s identity struggle. WvW is in such a desperate state (and given DAoC as a case study, it was destined to be), they had to force participation for rewards.

Did GW2 lose its identity?

This, to me, is what GW2 was. I don’t think that’s changed. I’m frankly amazed at the effort some posters seem to put forth in casting raiding as a threat to this. To me, it just sounds like “raids are too hard for me, and I don’t like that such a thing exists in my favorite game.”

Nah. I don’t imagine raids are all that “hard”. Just coordinated. And even then, the hardest part of that is getting a group of 10 people together who aren’t going to be kittenfaces to each other. No one wants to meet in the middle.

On the other side, there are some very ardent soloists who insist on doing things in an environment that may not be suited for them, because it’s different from the rest of the GW2 experience. They’re not really prepared to break out of the trappings of their build (nevermind that gear sets are expensive) or their playstyles, and they may not realize that their performance can threaten the success of a group endeavor. They might be able to break out, if someone guides them, but there are too many people in that salt-filled valley that they don’t really get the chance.

Granted, that’s just a looming, shadowy thing coming from a corner of the game. It’s usually not a big deal. And it’s not the only way that GW2 seems to have changed over the years, whether that’s desired or not.

With how easy large amounts of XP are to obtain, and the likely reasons Anet put mastery points behind a lot of achievements, they should not be obtained from XP.

I certainly didn’t have a problem with the XP part. Alts, so many alts. o_O

If they hadn’t set mastery points behind some rather garbage “achievements”, maybe I’d agree with the statement entirely. I pushed through and did what I could, so I’m currently at max, sans raids, anyway.
Side note: for anyone lacking those mastery points, if you haven’t done it yet, sneak into Dragon Stand for the meta. So many points hide there, and taking each once can net a significant boost. It’s also far less buggy than “adventures.”

Maybe it’s my own tunnel vision, but I generally see the ‘wasted xp’ come up in relation to the raid lock.

Regen nerf is far too restrictive for PVE.

in Living World

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

Quite honestly, if it were up to me, Regeneration would get turned around to be stackable in intensity, not in duration.

Of course that would mean all skills applying it would have to be rebalanced.
In essence the sources would need, often, a shorter duration for regen but, depending on cooldown, area and what not, a certain amount of stacks.

Water Trident for example could cause regen for a short burst of 4 seconds but give out 3 or 4 stacks.

Of course, stacks would need to be looked at in Terms of strength.
Should they be more healpower dependant, how much does a single stack heal without healing power and so forth.

On the other hand this change, not that it will ever happen, could lead to new Problems.

I will always recommend stacking regen. I think, in the end, it would add more synergy for parties and probably give some purpose to healpower.

The missing part:
There could have been someone on the enemy team who rolled his allies “1v3” just the same.

Armor Repair feels pointless

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

If anything, I kind of feel like the effect of armor being damaged due to death is not strong enough. Maybe it should go this way: one death equals one piece of armor being destroyed. So you basically play your character with one piece of armor less per death, not downstate ofc if you manage to rally.

It’s only a punishment if you die alone, though. More or less anyway. Pact Command mastery can raise someone from defeated status and repair broken armor. It’s cool that such a group-friendly feature exists, but it drives home the point that armor breakage is regarded as a nuisance rather than a pointed mechanic.

Masteries are not repeatable and I don’t want them wasting resources to create a system that allows that just so the holdouts that don’t feel like maxing their masteries don’t waste their XP.

They don’t need to “create” anything, just unlock the raid mastery track without having to deal with entitled salts who want to dictate others’ play experiences.

Probably easier to just bring back the cost element. I mean, if people find it pointless strictly because there’s no cost…

It’d be easier to change nothing, unless there’s a good reason. There is no good reason.

As an easy-ish QoL improvement:
Comment out the line that does the armor damage. The actual functions don’t need to be removed, just the command that executes them.
Change the Repair Canister items into something else. The item reference codes probably stay the same, they just reference different items. Hard part is deciding what goes in place of the various repair canisters.

Should I have more than 1 main character?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Rauderi.8706

GW2 is very friendly to alt characters.
Unless you’re willing to drop gems on extra crafting slots for some characters, I recommend having at least 4 to cover the various crafting paths.

Other than that, experiment on which classes thrill you the most.

Ele is a powerful class once you get used to the game, so it’s a solid choice.
I’ve always been personally lukewarm on Necro, and they’re not as useful in supporting parties as other classes. Having a Reaper was fun, though. If you’re looking for a safe choice, hop on the internet and see if there are any “minion master” builds. Having summonable HP sponges to insulate you from damage will help your survival. And if you like Necro overall, there are sites you can go to find other builds for open world, PvP, raids, etc.

As for getting Hero Points, finishing some core Tyria content can help you progress on that before you jump into the Heart of Thorns zones. Many of the points in HoT require mobility options you may not have yet or fights you probably don’t want to engage in solo.

Even at their worst, masteries were never as bad as The Time We Had To Unlock Traits.

Ah, the Dark Times. Actually highlights GW2 having trouble with its identity, even at onset.

“Let’s be like GW1!”
Turns out that GW2 players didn’t like that very much. :|

“We need ‘endgame content’!”
Accusations of becoming a Trinity WoW Clone fly as raids are finished by some groups in a day or a week and then whinge for more content.

“We need more challenge!” (Which, to be fair, old Tyria’s faceroll easy…)
While a few enemies stepped up their game in tactics, ‘challenge’ was delivered mostly as CC-spamming HP-sponges.

I like GW2 as a product overall, but I can readily see how over time that it’s still flailing for something to grasp onto as the game continues to grow. After committing to its own ideas on MMO combat (action combat, self-healing) and quality of life (insert huge list here), it feels like design is chasing what’s already been done instead of designing for the wonderfully free system they’ve created.

What Happened to Hardened Leather?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

You can’t just say that now silk is cheap without also talking about why. And the high price of leather is a decent sized part of why silk is so cheap.

As long as leather remains at such a ridiculous price, the demand for silk will be lower, because people in general will be crafting less components that require leather than they would if the price of leather was cheaper. If the price of leather goes down, the price of silk will eventually go up as well.

Prices of silk and hard leather arent dependant on each other at all because you dont need both to craft equipment. YOu need t6 leather for exotic crafting and silk for ascended crafting.

Patches. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gossamer_Patch
8 cloth to 30 leather at T6.
Necessary for all exotics and crafting Ascended patches the regular way.
So yes, they’re linked.

No Silk Scraps are harmed during the crafting process of gossamer patches.

Which isn’t terribly relevant commentary when the item in question is T6 leather.
The disparity of usage, partially because of those patches, is the reason why it exploded in price.

I know because I had a similar initial experience. In retrospect, I was making a lot of new player mistakes. I just didn’t realize it because up until I hit the jungle, my build and tactics were working out great! I totally steamrolled the personal storyline and core Tyria maps! Then I entered the jungle and fell flat on my face! Ouch!

Played since beta. Had the same experience! XD

Getting into the HoT beta and not knowing wth I was doing, that had me spitting mad about the future of the game. Didn’t ease much when I started in Verdant Brink, but it’s still up there as one of my kinda-favorite zones. Knowing how to get around and opening up those travel options will be a great help.
So give it time, OP.

Game design problems

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

1. Knockbacks;

A lot of enemies knock me down, interrupt my best attacks, slow me down, and they do so with infuriating frequency. My character is often turned into a pinball, thrown around helplessly in a stunlock until his health depletes.
In less severe cases, it just prolongs the fight to several times the length it would otherwise be.
Some would say, evade them.
Thing is, there’s no evading all of it. Most of these attacks are fast and come with no warning.
Some are slow and telegraphed, and might even paint an indicator on the ground – Even these can be impossible to evade when fighting multiple monsters, or might still happen with such frequency that there is no time for attacking between trying to avoid danger.

In short, it’s just not fun. A disabled character is not fun. Wasted time is not fun.

Truth. Some of the worst offenders are HoT enemies with charge attacks. That is their one and seemingly only attack. Cripple doesn’t slow them, because charging skills are immune to the effects of cripple after a patch a long time ago. Their knockdowns penetrate stability, because each little step removes a stack. Yes, I’ve had Juggernaut Engis knocked down by a charging enemy…
PS. Anything with Jade in the name can get kittened for the amount of perpetual CC.
PPS. 5-second stuns aren’t amusing, ANet. Just stop.

The amount of CC can get somewhat stupid because they just give it to everything and have very short cooldown on them for both hard and soft CC. Many mobs’ balance also end up failiing once scaling is in effect.

You can have a squishy mob that hits very hard which is mostly fine but then you scale it to a champion and it stops being squishy and it how hits even harder. It also gains a breakbar so all forms of CC is useless against it as well.

Specifically, Mordrem Stalkers. -_-
They spam Death Blossom with far more frequency than a Thief can, making them immune to attacks half of the time while they churn out player-killing damage. The Elite/Champ versions are absurd.

2. Damage.

I often agree with this as well, but I do have to say:
You’ll get better. Give it time. I know it’s frustrating, but you’ll get more awesome, and the damage might not seem as bad as it does now.

That said, the Hero Point Champions still need to go. Especially Tangled Depths’ mushroom queen of AoE bombs in tight quarters. Again, ANet, just stop…

For a game with such huge zones, it was a surprise to learn there are no kittens.
Clearly, a way to move 2-3 times faster would be a great boon. Why do we not have them?

It’s generally considered that waypoints are superior to mounts. That was more or less true in classic Tyria. HoT and the later zones saw much fewer waypoints per square foot, probably as a way to encourage participation in events.

Most players have found a way to coax their characters into moving at +25% faster with traits/skills/runes or try to get Swiftness uptime as much as possible. It helps, definitely, but sadly, it also forces a build to be defined with those skills in mind.

I’m not sure if the developers were aware, but their maps weren’t the greatest to begin with; Many unimportant details clutter up the page, making important ones harder to see. It’s difficult to tell where a road leads, where are impassable barriers, and how high or deep something is located.
And while things were this messy, they made the expansion zones so kitten ably vertical, with many paths underneath each other.

THIS. I’d very much like custom mapping tools. I might even be willing to reinstall Overwolf if anyone has recommendations for awesome map tool mods that won’t get me banned. :\

For me the best way to solve this problem is just by giving vendor prices to all pseudo-ascended materials. If I was able to vendor a whole stack of auric dust or dragonite ore for a couple of silvers it would work for me.

Easiest solution, and one I fully support. The eaters were cute at first, but they’ve really gotten out of hand.

Though I’m still fond of having a vendor be able to turn oil/dust/energy into map currency.

transmutation stones

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

Most people don’t feel the need to change skins much. Very few want to change them regularly. There are plenty of xmute charges available for the first group; ANet is asking the rest to pay, either in cash or coin.

Or simply be patient. Daily log-in rewards also grace a few charges every month. (I don’t recall the actual number.)

And since PvE dailies are still half trash, there’s always PvP daily rooms if a player wants to surf a reward track for more charges.

Not that I would be against a permanent item, but you can bet it’d either be at least 2000 gems (maybe 2500) or it’d be a super-rare, ultra-expensive drop from a Black Lion Chest.

Airship Oil , Auric dust eater ?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Rauderi.8706

Rauderi.8706

I could definitely use an eater for them. Just opening chests in my home instance can shovel 5-11 of these into my inventory every day. If I go to map/meta an HoT map, it gets even more ridiculous.

You do know you don’t HAVE to open the chests in your home instance if you don’t want the materials, right? It’s pretty much unavoidable on the maps, but if it just gives you ascended crafting items, STOP.

Uh, I’m not giving up 1-2 free rares per day just because I have to shove 3 items off my inventory panel when my inventory’s full. :P

It would be nice to have a vendor to turn this stuff into (I’m so tired of eater items…) so that the materials don’t go to waste, but the current situation is merely a nuisance due to scant planning.
