@Olba:
Just a little FYI, more servers are using multiple virtual servers on one machine nowadays.
Even as a Computer Information Administrator and IT Manager, I don’t like multiple virtual servers on single machines since if this is the case with GW2, one hiccup with the hardware could knock out either all of the NA or EU servers. That is assuming that all the NA servers are virtualized and on one machine and the EU servers are done the same on another machine.
The one bonus I could see if they do have them virtualized is that it could make it relatively simple to merge dying servers.
So people complain about people undercutting by 1c, but now they also complain about undercutting by larger meaningful amounts too.
Apparently just to play it safe, you should never sell anything for the lowest price in any situation. You should sell it well above what everyone else is selling for or else you’re a mean person.
Also if the stuff below you all sells, be sure to load up the TP and quickly remove your item while it’s the lowest. Mark it up more next time.
ROFLMFAO!
I feel lucky when I get a rare or exotic drop. I stare at it for 5 mins. Then I get upset that I can’t use it or I that it doesn’t fit my play style. Then I undercut EVERYONE by dropping the price by around 75%.
Makes me feel warm and cuddly cause I got SOME coin out of it.
“I’ve got to unleash!”
I want to hear the dialog of other NPCs, but I don’t want to hear PCs dialog. Maybe that might be an option to have in the volume section.
Since most exotic gear is only worth less than 5-10 silver to a vendor, anything past 15-16 silver is a profit.
Wow, he isn’t going to get 9-something gold out of it, but he is still making close to 160 times the vendor value of it. Quit complaining.
congratulations, u compared an exotic’s worth with the merchant sell price. genius.
Or he just described the seller’s view of the “profit” he makes from selling the item. He (or she) is making a decent amount above what they could receive from vendoring or salvaging the item, and they don’t particularly care about maximising the profit.
Bingo!
I knew someone would understand what I said.
For a better analogy for Velocity to understand, imagine if there was NO trade post and NO way to trade amongst players, you’d be stuck getting only the 5-10 silver for an exotic instead of ANYTHING above it.

“I’m so good it hurts.”
Yeah, I want to hear that every time I level up. /ugh
I want to zip my guardian’s mouth shut, button my warrior’s lip, glue my… You all get the point.
“Welcome to the big time, population ME.”
ANet did set a precedent with GW1 that they are ignoring with GW2.
We had the OPTION to play ALL of GW1 either solo or with friends. If our friends weren’t on (Face it, not all friends work the same shift or live in the same timezone) then we’d solo a mission or four. If they were on, then we’d either go back and stomp a new hole and and get the Master’s Completion for the mission or we’d go work on others together that we were having a hard time with.
That is what drew my friends and I to GW1. My wife enjoyed having that option. Now we can’t do dungeons because we have to wait for OTHERS to actually be in the area looking to run the dungeon and be willing to PUG with us since we don’t have headsets.
We want that option back. Without that option, GW2 is just another MMO clone.
I didn’t know your own team mates could attack you. As far as I know any type of offensive skill used by a team mate can not harm you. You might want to submit a bug report first.
I would keep Rytlock and the HoM Minis as account bound since one is from the Digital Deluxe and the others are earned from GW1.
The rest should be unbound.
I’ve been a staunch supporter that Guild Membership should be account wide and not per character. I’ve seen too many MMOs (Perfect World Entertainment’s MMOs come to mind) that have per character membership and people abuse rival guilds by logging in with a character that is part of the rival guild and then sabotaging them.
So far I haven’t noticed any GvG type events, but the moment those start up you WILL see abuse of the per character membership model.
What I think is funny is that players use the Legendary equipment as excuses to keep the World Completion points in W3. Having Legendary equipment sell-able on the TP defeats that argument.
Still kinda silly to make them hard to acquire then allow them to be sold. At least they aren’t bought in the Gem Store, that would make this a P2W business model then.
I’ve done the dungeon twice today with a group, but it is impossible to get the wife to join any groups.
I tried it solo with my 80 necro but found the respawn on the veteran skritt to be quite fast and I couldn’t get the oil reservoirs to stay full long enough for me to get past the first stage since I had to take them out constantly.
I don’t mind doing dungeons myself, but the requirement to do 5 player dungeons for these special events is excluding my wife and others that don’t do dungeons from fully participating and earning the holiday titles.
With the player attitudes we have witnessed when it comes to dungeons including the Halloween dungeon, she refuses to do them and she feels ANet is forcing her to do dungeons.
Since Wintersday has already started she knows this won’t help here, but in the future can holiday dungeons be made solo-able?
Since we are in the age of 64 bit how about stacks at 18446744073709551615?
2 to the 64th power minus 1

Dwarf!
I like the way the dwarves look in GuildWars 1.
Dwarfs are gone due to the battle with the Great Destroyer at the end of GW:EotN.
The posts above are complaining about one stat, Magic Find.
They are coming up with every excuse under the Tyrian sun to have Magic Find reworked or removed.
There are more threads bickering about Magic Find across the Dungeons, WvWvW, and Suggestions sub-forums than you can toss an Asura at.
I’m waiting for the admins to put in a filter that prevents the creation of “blah blah Magic Find blah blah” and “blah blah Inspect Gear blah blah” threads.
If they want, I’ll go through and clean them out and delete every new Magic Find and Inspect Gear thread that gets created. And I’ll do it for free.
1) Make sure nothing is soulbound. Your inventory looks like soulbound items and they will not show up on the BLTP to be sold.
2)No clue as to why you can not buy. Looks like you have enough to make the purchase.

This is a fun idea…
Especially since my main in Aion wore a plated breast plate, boots, and lower arm guards then had the shoulder guards and the dress of the Eylos costume skinned on the plated shoulder and legging armor.
You do realize there is an end all way of “fixing” the problem with MF gear in Dungeons…
Balance the dungeons correctly so that a group of 5 players can complete the Dungeon with White gear of the appropriate level. This way the “Level 80 only” and “No MF gear” groups can stop bickering about MF.
BUT, that will likely never happen since ANet made the Dungeons harder for the elitist that breezed to 80 by crafting and the only gear they ever got was Exotic then they went stomping around in level 30-40-50 etc. dungeons with maxed out gear and felt they were too easy.
Have you seen the difference between the stats of a White piece of level 30 gear (AC Story Mode) and level 80 Exotic? Those stats are where you get your edge for dungeon runs. Your base stats are what get scaled down, not your gear or traits.
Complaining about MF should be a moot point since you SHOULD be facerolling a lower level dungeon while wearing level 80 Exotic gear. Any “ideas” to fix MF should be a moot point for the exact same reason.
MF does not need to be “worked” on, properly balancing the dungeons it what needs to happen and ANet needs to ignore the elitists that demand that the dungeons need to scaled to their level 80 Exotic gear so they have a challenge.
You level up and get better gear to do facerolling. That is the whole point of leveling up.
…Besides, guess what, a lot of people (me included) use exactly the same skins for their MF and combat sets. Actually not exactly, because my combat armour is purple and my magic find armour is green, but that’s just so I can distinguish them easily; the links look exactly the same when previewed.
This is really funny since that requires you to change your dyes when you change your armor.
Example:
If you have a combat set of Winged armor and a MF set of Winged armor, the moment you change them out, the dye pattern is EXACTLY the same and you have to go into dye mode to change the dye pattern.
Having the same skin for a combat set and a MF set makes it easier to “hot-swap” your armor in a dungeon without getting caught.
Now if your armor changed from Winged to Exalted (or vice versa) then you’d get busted and kicked by the elitists that hate MF.
Those would be the Koda.
They might be cool, but the Tengu may be playable first if they add more playable races since they were in GW1 and the Koda were not.
Kaimick, one coconut cream pie to the face for you! LOL
As to your “Sim’s Wars” comment, I felt about the same when I saw the other game doing a lot on the “Sim’s” type content and not fixing the glaring problems with their system in general.
I honestly can not get behind in-game marriages. It is bad enough that I’ve seen relationships end just because of an MMO first hand, but when I found out what happened after my buddy’s fiancee got in-game married to her guild leader, it made me WTF, WTH.
I agree on the too many skirts/kilts looking style for men.
The skirts come from actual design function from the real armor in history.
The armored skirt covers the the vulnerable hip joints that are exposed to allow for motion.
As for dresses, skirts, kilts, long coats etc across the other armor classes, the same logic applies. Light armor needs a lot in terms of mobility so the long skirt is used instead of pants to allow that mobility. Medium armor needs to be able to stay in the fight a little longer and still be able to run if needed. Heavy armor trades all the mobility for stand up power. Hence they get the shortest skirts just to cover the exposed joints.
Basic Armor 101, class dismissed.
An Azura being taken up the aisle by a norn is just to weird

Lol
Charr and an Asura
Your choice as to which is the bride, but both are amusing.
Though catnip jokes would be everywhere in the case of Carr and Sylvari marriages.
Here are all the armors, pick and choose. I saw quite a few pants across all the weight classes
Some have posted before and linked to the article that the original idea was that they were supposed to be account bound. My apologies that I do not have that link.
But I will add in my agreement that the dye palette should be account bound. I had 4 rare dyes unlocked on my mesmer that had I paid for them would have cost LOTS OF GOLD. I had to think for a week before I deleted her just because of those 4 dyes.
I’ve seen this done with Aion.
They have a whole area dedicated to housing to pull this off. If you can afford a house or better, your home is non-instanced and players can come and go unless you set your home to allow only your friends.
If you can not afford your own house, you get a free apartment that is instanced and requires you to bring friends instead of your friends being able to drop by.
The bigger the home, the more you can put in. The free studio apartment has a limit of 20 pieces of furniture.
All players get a “gateway” skill that takes them to their home from anywhere in the game.
Housing mortgages and some furniture become gold sinks. Player crafted furniture can shift the TP prices on a lot of items since the vain will want top tier furniture and could draw attention away from other items that are overly priced causing those prices to go down or it can make the prices worse since players will need more gold to pay their mortgages.
Cabinets allow for additional storage and are on set timers. Typically 30-60-90 day timers. This causes cabinets of all sorts to become gold sinks.
I have seen this done in other MMOs. Here are the Pros and Cons…
Pros:
Couples only quests
Couples only dailies
Special title
Public marriage ceremony in the bride’s home town
Cons:
No same sex marriages
Divorcing gives another special title
Divorcing takes up an inventory slot for every divorce decree (No way to get rid of them)
RL issue already mentioned by Soulstar
RL issue with RL relationships (I have personally seen this and regret introducing this couple to the game)
Just some food for thought.
In all honesty, I have no idea where the jumping puzzles are in W3. I guess that is a good thing since I don’t need to run into a zerg of opposition that only wants easy kills.
In other news though, last time I looked today it looked like our server was trying to throw the W3 matches just to get us rotated.
Makes me wonder how long it will be before A-Net starts noticing the “fixed matches” that got Hero Battles (I think, but I know it caused problems for tournaments) removed from GW1 and was causing problems with the Alliance Battles.
If you go based on how Guild Wars (1&2) has always been geared towards Map Completion = PvE then you would understand the complaint.
The only PvP areas in GW1 that counted towards Map Completion was Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood. And they were small areas scraped in about 2-3 minutes.
When players went armorless in those areas everyone left them alone to do their mapping. Since those were “instances” all we asked in return was that once you got the map open get back to your starting side and armor up for the rest of the instance.
You’d be amazed what a little courtesy does.
Here though they have to put up with PvP players that have the WoW mindset and refuse to show a little courtesy to someone that is trying to get their completion done so that a dedicated W3 player can get in once they leave the map.
They don’t want to be there anymore than you want them there.
And if they were “PvP related achievements” there would be a separate list for PvP Map Completion. Stop bundling the W3 monthly kill achievement with the Map Completion Achievement.
As for me, I’ll likely finish my completion, ignore the jumping puzzles, and going based on the attitudes I’ve been seeing in W3 might not ever go back.
I seriously thought I might like W3 when I tried it and decided to finish PvE to 80 for gear and skills so that I could be more effective in W3. The attitude is putting me in the camp to help out the PvE players.
Whoa! You guys are taking what I said out of context. I’m not complaining. I’m stating an observation with a solution.
The person I quoted called the PvE players dead weight.
I was pointing that these “dead weight” PvE players are there because they have to be to finish two achievements, World Completion and Jumping Puzzles.
If he wants these PvE players out of W3 he should instead of ganking them for easy badges then telling them it is their own fault for being there be championing a movement to have W3 content removed from those Achievement lists.
I’ll play W3 after I finish my World Completion. I can care less about the jumping puzzles IMHO.
You all shouldn’t be bashing the pure PvE players and calling them whiners when they are simply trying to finish something that ANet spread into a PvP zone.
I am keeping you from getting free sieges, and also because I’m doing something the WvW players on your server would’ve like to do to you since you’re essentially being a dead weight and taking up a queue spot that your server could’ve used to get another WvW player in.
Can you explain your psychological reasoning for doing WvW jumping puzzles at the expense of your server’s interests?
PvE players are FORCED by ANet to be in W3 in order to complete the Jumping Puzzles and their World Completion.
Maybe you should be championing the removal of the Jumping Puzzles and the World Completion points from W3 so the “dead weight” PvE players stay out of W3.
I’d rather have all my normal stats listed first, this includes MF.
Then I’d like the skills to list what trait lines they are from.
I think those are needed a bit more.
Crafted Gladiator armor
I may have to agree. FA looks like it is on life support in the Mid-Range areas. And it is spreading.
You switch map/sides every time so every 3 weeks you can have a character completed, dont see how this causes you any problems at all….
No you don’t. There are complaints in the WvWvW sub-forum about match ups being the exact same for going on 7+weeks. That means the starting positions haven’t rotated either.
I’ve got one VP left on the center borderlands map. I’m done with the right-hand map.
I’m about 50-75% done with the left-hand map and only 33% done with the Eternal Battlegrounds.
When I’m done, I don’t plan on stepping foot back into WvWvW. I don’t even step into PvP.
Is it possible to at least have the starting points rotated when the same three servers are matched up for weeks on end?
I really don’t want to have to start server hoping just to finish my World Completion.
Once that is done I’m done with anything even remotely associated with PvP combat.
I have been having problems with all the back armors on my characters not accepting upgrades to the upgrade slot.
Is this a bug or is there a small list of what will work on them?
Thank you for reading.
Yes, Eleri, some are PvP only. I plan to go through them and mark them.
Could you either color code or list the rarity?
Maybe the maps the Karma sets are on?
Other than that, the site is very helpful.
Hmm… When I play my Asura I pretty much call everyone “Bookah.”
My Charr calls humans “Meat.” I call Sylvari “Catnip.”
Just run with the lore and have fun. You do know that there is an Asura in LA that tries to make a bad “salad joke” about the Sylvari right?
While I like this idea (I’d like my necro to have red effects), someone has already stated the obvious reason why it won’t happen…
Combo Fields
We don’t have profession specific armor like we did in GW1 which means unless you are clicking on every player or paying close attention to the weapon sets, you need those colors to do your combos right.
We did have 4 sets in GW1 across all our characters.
I’m only asking for the Warrior a.k.a. “The Walking Armory” to get 4.
Could the F1 adrenaline be replaced with F1-F4 being weapon sets?
The Warrior has access to the majority of the weapons yet we can only equip 2 sets then have to tote around the rest. Having 4 weapon sets would allow us to “bring the pain” better by swapping sets like the Elementalists do with their elements.
For example, I’d have dual swords on F1, dual axes on F2, great sword or hammer on F3, then a long bow on F4.
Just a thought.
Plus the adrenaline cries are annoying.
Honestly, I highly doubt there will be a race change or class change and I will agree with TPTB that if you want either of those, either buy a character slot or delete a character.
There is a LOT that gets affected by race and class: Armor, Personal Story, NPC interactions, in-game NPC mail, etc.
The only reason we got profession changing in GW1 was due to the fact that we had a primary and a secondary with the secondary being allowed to be changed. The primary profession affected your armor and interactions, your secondary ONLY affected your functioning.
I’m still waiting for the re-customizing to be added along with more body types, hair styles, and faces. My necro needs to look like she has eaten and not anorexic. She’d also like her chest to look closer to her 30’s in maturity instead of 12-13.
The “accidental” price of 350 gems was perfect. If it turns out to be 800 or 2000 gems, I’ll be very disappointed, to say the least. I know $10 was the price in the first game, but more smaller ticket items would do the store some good. You can only buy gems for a minimum of $10 anyway, so why not?
Actually, $10 got you 4 makeovers in GW1.
actually , it was 5 makeovers for 10$ lol
seriously plz no 20$ makeovers, thats ridiculous!
I got the point ROFLMAO!
You’re right it was 5 makeovers for $10
It was one extreme makeover (gender change plus makeover) for $10
And I believe it was $15 for a name change
How is a small icon at the top left of your screen bugging you? Is your GUI set at max size making it the size of a baseball? Lower your GUI size and see if that helps.
F12 then click log out. Though being able to hit F12 and then L for log out or C for character select would make a very quick two keystroke log out. I would like that very much.
No need for a resurrect confirmation button
In a MMO spending time getting gear is natural , this is not a fps , if it was not the MF gear you would still rares anyway , or exos. See the point? The game will never simple allow something to login in full whites and go run a dungeon , your group , unless they are your friends , will kick you in one second , no mercy or excuses.
People will complain about ANYTHING if it isn’t their way.
How about ANet just re-balance the game so we only need white gear to do EVERYTHING? People will whine that the game is too easy with the other gear.
How about they just go back to the way GW1 was and the ONLY differences in armor and weapons was the look and the costs before insignias and runes were applied.
It is time for the elitist to quit QQing about MF.
I roll with Exotic MF Gear and I still kill mobs more efficiently than others in their power etc. gear.

I’d say they could join my guild since the wife and I don’t use the VOIP systems because our immediate surroundings are more important than a game. Especially when you have children.
Only problem is that I’m the only dungeon runner in our guild. The wife has seen how players get treated in a dungeon and refuses to do them and the other two members have connection issues. One is because of construction in her area.
Too bad the Voice Recognition/TTS software out there doesn’t work with these games. Would at least help the VOIPers talk to the hearing impaired without hurting their precious finger tips by typing.
