If there are problems with the expansion (ie. too little for the price tag), you WILL hear it from them.

Like we did when the BLTP got changed and there was no way to convert gold to gems with a custom number. It hit the net from one of those sites and within less than a week ANet fixed that issue and gave us a custom gold to gem/gem to gold converter screen.

Or when the pricing for HoT was announced and the veteran players cried foul. It hit the net through one of those sites and ANet gave the veterans an extra character slot.

Be sure that if there are enough complaints that even those sites say ANet crossed the line, you WILL see it there.

Every account’s first Revenant HAS to actually play PvE.

Oh, and has to complete the Personal Story.

THEN accounts may use scroll and tomes and all other XP items/XP Bonuses on any other Revenants thereafter.

I wonder how many rage quits/refund demands would happen if that were to happen.

To be honest, I think we should just get both of the skins unlocked, when we have reached certain LS story steps (Act 1 & 2 of Shadow of the Mad King), because many of us have transmuted those back items for better stats when the Orr back items came a few months later and “lost the look”, because Wardrobe did not unlock the skin when that update that missed transmuted skins.
Those who earned it in the past get it unlocked, period.

New players or those who missed the event should be able to purchase it for 5 Laurels each.

I lost mine (the green one) because I needed the space before the wardrobe went into effect too.

I’ve had some bad experiences with CS so I said “screw it.”
It is just a cluster of pixels. If it comes back then “Yay” if not, “Oh Well.”

Is it just me or this zone is designed to make you extra miserable?

I was trying to grab a hero point here, and it’s at a jumping puzzle! It wasn’t that hard but putting a vista and a hero point behind all of this (and enemies constantly attacking you) in a low level zone isn’t cool, especially on how the vista is designed so you might miss the jump and have to do it all over again. I couldn’t imagine doing this in my older days.

Breach Wall Blitz (the one you speak of) and Vizier’s Tower are the only JPs with a VP and HP at the end that I can recall off the top of my head.

As to the heart in question, something needs to be done so it can be completed without sitting and waiting for 10 minutes. As it is, I just go back to the character select screen and do something else hoping that I’ll be in a different instance of the map when I come back.

I don’t see getting the whole Mistward armor at the start no matter what.

From what the BWEs had, we’ll likely get to choose from 3 different head bands then have to wear plebeian armor until we can “find” the Mistward armor either through Masteries or some other mechanic.

Don’t forget to grab material storage expansions!

For all we know, the Mistward armor could be the Legendary Heavy Armor and not everyone will be able to get it.

Because players have gotten smacked with the ban hammer for using it.

It wasn’t an overlay, it actually gives an advantage to a player that can use it well and is therefore considered cheating and against the ToS.

So…

Casual players get excluded from Raids and Fractals by the Elitists that ANet is pandering to (which honestly will leave the Dungeons to the Casual players) BUT you are going to nerf the Dungeons in an attempt to push players to Raids and Fractals.

This sounds a lot like modern politics and Class Separation. The Elitists get what they want with ANet’s blessing (by pushing everyone to other content) and the Casual Players get kicked to the curb.

How about while you nerf Dungeons into the ground, put the Hero System from Guild Wars into all the modes (Story and Explorable) so that the Casuals can see the Arah path 1-4 without having to pay other players to put up with our Non-Meta play style.

I had to kick myself from an Arah P1 group because I got called in to work.

I got warned that I might get kicked from a CoE group because I was a Ranger, but they they were curious because I run a GS-A/A Ranger. They watched me solo a Champ Golem when they all wiped and they cheered me on. We ended up going crazy on the other dungeons that day. That was a great Dungeon day for me.

I think I got kicked just because I was a Necromancer in CM before.

You can, if you want, sell the glory shards and then use the funds for transmutation. It’s 3 steps (instead of just one), but it gets the job done and allows others to make use of the shards you might not want.

That won’t work. They are going to be account bound.

So yes, they do unlock to your account, but unlike weapons and armor skins, you don’t get to keep it in your inventory to use after you have unlocked it.

I think you missed the part where you can flush it WITHOUT binding it to your account and it will AUTOMATICALLY bind to your account.

I do it with weapon skins that I may not have. I buy 4 different weapons off the TP that I don’t have the skins unlocked and just toss them into the forge. All 4 skins unlock and I get my random non-precursor weapon out.

Never even right-click unlock.

Gimmie a few and I’ll try it with 4 random minis.

If that was the case, then they would have done it from the word go. ANet know the numbers, we do not. Steam is not the be all and end all of PC gaming. Steam is great from a gamers point of view, but not so much from a business point of view. 30% of each sale an mount up to a lot of money. Just look at the Ultimate edition of HoT. If soemonw got that through steam that’s $30 lost to ANet, that’s all the cost of the digital items. Or more than half of the cost of the discounted Gems at full price.(this bit I’m not sure, as I’m from the UK and don’t know the $ price of gems.)

So if 10 people where to buy it, that’s $300 lost that ANet loses. And that only grows with every sale.

30% is also about the same amount that Amazon, DLGamer, Gamestop, and GameTap charge as well, which Guild Wars 2 and HoT are being sold as authorized dealers. That 30% is about a standard cut, and is still less than than a standard cut for physical versions. On physical versions, publisher/developers only make about 30-40% in revenue.

Seeing as how I maintain my boss’ store front on Amazon, I can tell you that it is NOT 30%.

I was going to ask if we have to have HoT to get the free outfit.

Wife and I have been here since the three day head-start. Would be a bit bogus to not be allowed an outfit meant for veterans yet new players that got HoT last week get the outfit.

You must not know how artillery works if you think this is an exploit.

You’d really hate it if ANet limited the FOV and an experienced fire team (You know, a team trained with military artillery) using team speak or ventrillo for a spotter team to call down fire on your heads without needing to pan out the FOV. Though that might work better with trebuchets and catapults.

This is clearly a “Learn to Adapt and Play” issue.

Priory, Vigil, and Whispers gear (armor and weapons) can not be salvaged. The last time I bought the gear, I could not even flush them down the Mystic Toilet.

The order gear is soulbound on purchase and added to the Wardrobe immediately no matter the level of the character buying it. Check your wardrobe using the search feature. If it is not unlocked, put in a bug report.

You must have (had?) at least one character at lvl31 before WvW unlocks. After that you can enter WvW with a lvl2 character if you so wish.

You are very much giving bad information there.

Before the Tomes, players that were too poor to craft level their characters would go to WvW right after the starter instance to speed level with a zerg.

When EotM came around, that became the preferred speed leveling zone with some still using WvW.

It is however ADVISED by the WvW community in game for unexperienced players to refrain from WvW until level 31 so they have their whole skill bar unlocked. This is also why new accounts don’t have the WvW icon until level 31.

Furthermore, you do not need the Asura gates in Lion’s Arch, press F11 and check your key bind for the “Score Board” (my key binds are not the default and have been that way for going on 3 years) and all you have to do is press that hot key to get the WvW interface and choose between the Borderlands, Eternal Battlegrounds, Obsidian Sanctum, or Edge of the Mists.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why the NPE was a bad idea. New players not realizing all game modes are available to you from your first character the moment they are out of the first instance. Then trying to tell everyone what the NPE says as gospel.

Your internal IP should not be the problem. The IP address for your modem from your ISP is changing at what looks like an alarming rate. You do not want a laundry list of IP address ranges from your ISP.

They’d have to refund A LOT of veterans’ money if they pulled that stunt.

Has ANet told us how they are going to integrate the Revenant into the personal story considering the profession came about AFTER the PS?

GW1 integrated the four additional professions by introducing Elona and Cantha and having those professions exist just as long if not longer than the original six professions. This combined with all three campaigns taking place roughly at the same time within a five year or less span. So it made sense for the last two professions (Dervish and Paragon) to go through the Prophecies campaign and the Factions campaign.

The Revenant however seems like it should be the Elite Specialization for the Warriors instead of a new profession because it isn’t being brought in with Cantha, Elona, or a new land all together with a history that says it existed before the fall of Zhaitan.

I’m a continuity nerd/geek since I help with other products in find continuity errors. So this just irks me. Does it irk anyone else?

I have it and I’ve not noticed and incredible increase in performance. It works well, it’s very different from windows 7, which I upgraded from, apart from the normal driver installs, its been painless for the most part. My only grip with with Edge not letting me save pictures from the internet. It keeps telling me I don’t have permission to save them to any file on my pc, and that I need to contact the admin, I am the admin…….

That is solved by fixing the owner of the drive. This is a common problem when changing OSs or swapping drives from one Windows system to another.

Needless to say, I did the upgrade and after having to wait 45 minutes for the system to boot up EVERY TIME, I decided to put my Win 7 Pro back on and I’ll wait about 6 months to try again.

I did find that the defaults for Windows 10 are very much alarming. I primarily needed to know if I can secure the system for the work place and what steps should be taken. I don’t need to support it just yet.

I did VoD with one of my warriors and my 2 Axe / Greatsword Ranger and found the new solo story mode satisfying. I was able to catch the story without being booted for taking too long and that is something I am missing from ALL the story mode dungeons. Can’t watch the story without getting kicked.

All the story mode dungeons should be setup this way.

Leave the Explorable modes the way they are for the dungeon runners.

I know I saw them try to put up advertizements on Facebook twice today and both times it got loaded down with feedback on the price and then the staff took the advertizements down.

Maybe they will eventually get the hint that we will not be duped so easily.

But hey, the Fanbois are doing great at helping them meet their quota so we will be able to get HoT for cheaper sooner.

Still gonna wait it out.

Because I can still buy brand new games and get DLC that is roughly 45% to 50% the size of the base game for $15 to $20.

You hope they do because you don’t want a game you like to play to die out due to the exodus of too many disgruntled customers. But reality is, not everyone that leaves this game comes back. I know people that quit the game and are playing others instead.

I’m on the fence. If they lower the price for an Expansion only or add in extras for the veterans, the wife and I will be waiting until HoT goes on sale and then just try and farm for gold to convert to buy the LS chapters we won’t get because we didn’t have the expansion.

If it takes too long, then it might be time for us to move on.

As it is right now, I log in to both our accounts for the login reward and then I either play on my PS3 or I work on Battletech miniatures while the wife watches something on her computer and cross-stitches.

Battletech minis… I’ve got a company of ’Mechs I need to finish plus more to be repaired/reworked. Maybe I should do that.

Plus $50 will get me more minis and those are REAL and not digital.

In this way they forces you to pay more $39 again

Actually those that bought the core game within the last 30 days can get a refund ($39.99) and then pay $49.99 ($10.00 extra for the expansion) for the basic bundle.

They lose up to 30 days of play time, but they get the expansion for $10.00 just like new players.

We veterans are the ones getting the shaft having to pay $49.99 for the expansion.
