Lady Alexis Hawk – Main – Necromancer
Ravion Hawk – Warrior
I might agree to this if the broom was moved to a karma vendor and out of the gem store.
I know we can convert gold to gems cause I’ve done it for character slots, but the fact that one could pay real money for this item right now would prohibit this idea because the entire idea revolves around having the broom toy.
The broom is a gem store item.
If they add an achievement and/or rewards for this they would be slammed into the F2P-P2W category.
Plus, in order to participate in this proposed race, players will have to purchase the broom. And since one method involves real money, I doubt it would be added.
As to the track area, I honestly think they are going to add Moa Races to that spot in the future.
GW2 does two distinct types of updates IIRC. One type can happen while you are playing and we just end up restarting after 3 min hence the 3 min timer in game.
The other is the massive updates that are updating UIs, textures, new areas etc. These are buried in the .dat file and our computers pull that info from the .dat file.
GW2 is also an open world compared to GW1. We need that .dat file fully updated to make sure we don’t have any problems in the world. GW1 was able to update per map hence why we could play sooner and it would update as we loaded into a map that had been updated.
I think this is a good idea and I’m not sure why people think that this will somehow break the game. 99.9% of people have a rebreather equipped at all times.
and this is exactly the reason it is a waste of the dev’s time, when barely anyone would even see this “feature” if you can even call it that
The first time they saw this proposed feature, they’d never take the re-breather off again.
Pressurized equipment is only necessary when diving past certain depth.
The logic you are trying to put in this game with your “Breath Bar” would require this too.
Have you been to the Straights of Devastation? There are Skill Points on the BOTTOM. The rough scale of the depth in that area is about a quarter mile from the surface. I believe Frostgorge Sound has an even deeper depth. Plus to add this realism you want they would have to add a “Proper Resurfacing” element so the character’s blood doesn’t “boil” on the way back up from a deep dive.
And since I pointed out Frostgorge Sound, they would further have to add the fact that the character would suffer severe hypothermia at those depths even in the Straights of Devastation.
As we say in Battletech: This is a game, leave RL scale and functions in RL and enjoy the game as it was designed.
I don’t know why people get so whiney about jumping puzzles…There are at least 5 different JPs that involve like 6 jumps total (and those jumps are ridiculously easy), and everyday you can redo the same JPs and they will count towards the monthly…I guess people will just always find something to complain about.
I honestly didn’t know you could redo JPs for the monthly.
I said to hell with it when I saw the 30 and my brain said there is about 31-32 JPs in the whole game.
The W3 and Fractals need to be removed out of the Monthly though.
For those who’ve not seen it yet…
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magical_Infusion
Ascended Infusion – 20% MF – cost 20 Laural eaI personally don’t care either way, since I’m more interested in Cleric’s or Knight’s gear these days anyway (both of which are missing on Ascended IIRC – though its still just rings/amulet, so may be fine for other stuff there).
Edit – I’m also far more interested in these two anyway:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gilded_Infusion – 20% gold from monsters
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Karmic_Infusion – 15% Karma
Way to go A-Net!
Instead of removing MF they added two more “selfish” upgrade stats. We’ll be seeing threads asking for the removal of those stats too!
Oh BTW,
I’m a full MF Set user without a back up set! ROFLMAO!
What you are trying to say is that our characters which are “Heroes” will be dumb enough to swim without a re-breather.
Using a little bit of common sense will tell you that the demographic of players playing GW2 will use a re-breather in real life if it were handed to them and they were told to swim under water.
The only real “detail” issue I have with re-breathers is the lack of eye protection for areas that are likely salt water and the fact that one can see better under water with eye protection even in fresh water.
A-Net didn’t take your urge to remove a piece of armor that allows you to breathe under water into account. I honestly think you are part of a VERY small minority in removing that particular piece of armor.

There is an upfront listing fee they show and the projected profit.
What they DO NOT show is the Net Profit AFTER the TP Tax.
It was promised that they would be account wide and they went back on that promise.
And dyes are not a gold sink. They are RNG drops as unidentified dyes, karma sinks if they are crafted, or real cash (intended) if bought from the gem store.
Where did they say that? And if you buy gems for gold they are a gold sink
only nobody does that.
http://www.arena.net/blog/live-and-let-dye-kristen-perry-on-the-gw2-dye-system
Once you unlock the color, it will be available across your entire account, not just the individual character.
I didn’t include the gold-to-gem transactions since it is countered by gem-to-gold transactions.

How elitist of you.
We are trying to prevent elitism, not encourage it.
Most of what was supposed to be Utopia became GWEotN and GW2.
The “Summoners” became the Sylvari
The landscape became Rata Sum, The Black Citadel, and Ebonhawk etc.
Look at all the concept art for Utopia and compare it to GW2 and you will see what I mean.
Probably not unless they change guild membership to account wide instead of allowing us to join multiple guilds.
Too much ability to fix the fights.
Doing a MAC address or IP address ban isn’t fool-proof.
MAC Address Ban = Circumvented by a new NIC card (cheap) or new Motherboard (expensive).
IP Address Ban = Punishing everyone at an IP that may not have been part of the exploit. There are those that use IP Spoofing to keep from getting caught and innocents could get banned. IP Address ban can also be circumvented by getting a new IP Address.
Using the PID of the OS would violate a few EULAs.
The banned players get as many chances as they are willing to make new e-mail addresses and spend more money for the game.
I was not talking about the Shattered Strength fiasco, I’m talking about the Mesmers getting shafted left and right because ANet is trying to avoid the inevitable PvP/PvE Skill split.
What is balanced in PvP is inherently under powered when used against the PvE AI.
What is balanced in PvE is inherently over powered when used against another player.
Illusions work against players because we see the characters on the screen. Illusions don’t work against the AI since the AI can see the coding of the player character and illusions and will always hunt the player.
Since we are out in PvE working together, ALL classes should be able to pull their own weight.
The Profane armor looks correct on Humans and Norn. It was an actual armor in GW1 for Necromancers and matches the original quite well. The mask was added though since in GW1 Necromancers used Scar Patterns in place of head armor.
Looks like what I requested in the Suggestion forum:
Please put the Mesmers back to the way they were before they were nerfed into oblivion.
If they are that OP in PvP/W3, then use the nerfed/PvP versions of of the skills in W3 and PvP.
Let our illusions do damage, all of them. Speed up the scepter attack. PvE and W3/PvP are two separate play modes and we already know that PvE skills are going to be more powerful than the fine tuned, balanced versions used for PvP.
That and could we get a main hand pistol? Please?
1. No. Elitist are hurting the ability to get groups together for dungeons as it is.
2. That makes some sense
3. Iffy. Kinda hard to gauge the possible reception.
And I would taunt any humans that come by my castle!
Excellent laugh.
Please no. This isn’t Forsaken World.
Though I did have a habit of dragging mobs towards AFK fishers during the daily fishing tournament.
Here we have DEs that could ruin a fisher’s day instead.
I’d like a midnight ice if you have one to spare.
Kinda like a wintersday present.
Oddly enough, I haven’t found one of those yet, even with my piles of dyes.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
Can’t say I didn’t try
MMOViper has a bot that I hope ANet has gotten a hold of and is running through its code to so they can detect easier.
Though after what I read on it, I’d put in random spots of enemy mobs turning into green friendly NPCs for about and hour or two in the more popular areas for farming to try and catch that one. The way it read for those that don’t subscribe to their group makes it sound like the bot would turn “we-todd-did” because it would constantly be attacking a named mob that was turned “good guy” and can’t be harmed by players.
I’d currently only give warriors and necromancers access to this weapon. Maybe mesmers.
Lemme get this straight, did you report ANet to the federal government for illegal gambling based on the fact we can purchase items/gold (gold in turn being used to purchase in game items of chance) with real money?
I’d like a midnight ice if you have one to spare.
Kinda like a wintersday present.
And people say this is supposed to be a social game, yet elitist put others on block/ignore list just because of their gear preference.
How anti-social of you ROFLMAO!
And you obviously didn’t understand my reply to your proposal. If you want to give the party leader the ability to kill a stat on another player’s gear when entering a dungeon, then the party leader and other party members better be prepared to have a stat killed by the affected players in return. It is called eye for an eye.
I so want the dervish back.
I remember a PvP match where I went toe to toe with a monk and neither of us would die. The other 6 players stopped fighting and sat in a circle to watch us fight to a draw cause the match timer ran out.
Kaimick, I am starting to like you.
I don’t play WoW for one simple reason and one very complex reason. The simple reason is the same for all sub games and F2P-P2W, I can not justify spending $15+ a month to play a game. The complex reason is only tied to WoW and it is personal.
You don’t see me suggesting to make GW2 like Battletech or Mechwarrior (same universe, but Mechwarrior is the simulator and Battletech is the original table top miniatures game.)
But you got me hoping for a Hello Kitty armor set for my Necro though.
GW2 minis… Bah, I hate painting non-mecha minis. Cool idea though.
he wants to take all his favorite games from wow to farmville and soon hello kitty island adventure and make GW2 that
I’d put a Hello Kitty armor on my Necro!
@GCleonardo.3947
Yeah, this isn’t WoW. Though many are trying to make it like EVE.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence showcases beautifully how the control, group hitting, and pulling of whip combat is done. When using the elemental whips (Fire, Ice, and Lightning whips), the added elemental effects showcases how an Elementalist would use a whip. Necromancers could add life steal, chill, and fear. Mesmers could add confusion and daze.
Rangers would likely add poison and bleed.
Whip combat is fast moving with an elegant flow to it. Hence why I suggest all the light armor professions to have Long Whips for primary weapons.
Short Whips are great for control. Mostly grappling and tripping. Any profession should be able to use one in an off-hand to cause knockdown and/or cripple.
I could see the whip used by all the classes as an off-hand control weapon. Though I can only see (borrowing from Castlevania and Real Life whip fighters) Rangers, Necromancers, Elementalists, and Mesmers using them as primary weapons.
I’d also make two different types of whips. Short whips (4 to 6 footers) which are off-hand only and have control skills and Long whips (8 to 12 footers) which are 2 hand primary weapons with at least one control skill on the bar..
The Risen Chickens are out for revenge against all of us that play Legend of Zelda 3 and up…
Except here we get swarmed by them without torturing a lone chicken and having it call them in. ;D
But I do agree with you there on the variety.
You want the party leader to have the option to disable MF at the start of a dungeon…
Fine, but everyone in MF gear gets the option to kill another attribute on everyone else.
And let’s stack it!
Party leader wants to kill the MF on two players, in fairness those two get to kill the power and toughness of everyone NOT in MF gear.
Karma is a kitten!
So…
You want to add Farmville to Guild Wars 2?
1-9: Agreed
10: I’m mixed on this one. Too many players are staying in W3 and Fractals causing your idea to end up punishing players that tend to find themselves virtually alone on the mid-level maps.
11 & 12: Agreed
13: Not too sure on this one.
14: Unlocked dyes should be account wide.
15 & 16: Agreed
17: NO! This is not WoW, or any of Perfect World Entertainment’s MMOs.
18-20: Agreed
21: They should take another look at the skills and add more to the “Cast on the move” list, but some spells need concentration hence the need to stand still.
22: Dunno…
23 & 24: Agreed
25: Insignias, Runes, and Sigils can already be done this way by just upgrading with a new one to overwrite the current one. I would blend this idea with number 1 and make the higher tier armors allowed to have an Insignia and a Rune added while allowing higher tier weapons to have a Rune and a Sigil added.
If you’re trying to make me feel guilty for my comment and dislike of market manipulators, it isn’t working.
I’m a working man pulling 50+ hours a week as an armed guard. I hate market manipulators in real life and I hate them in games I paid for to enjoy.
ANet has the ability to hamstring the market manipulators and fix the in game economy so those of us with real lives can enjoy the game as casual players. It is time ANet showed their ability to fix the market and deal with the power traders.
This is “Guild Wars 2,” not “Wall Street Market Simulator 2012.”
As to my inventory, there is a Karka item they can take since it is useless and the PvP finishers that I probably won’t use. Might even be a blueprint or two in there they can have.
Hmm…
I think we will want the guild name…
I would ask that you already have the funds to at least make an impact on the market in a meaningful way when combined with the power of the other traders.
Maybe ANet will ban all members of said guild for mass market manipulation.
Or zap all members of said guild’s gold while they try and fix the market that you are trying to impact.
The trade post and crafting is causing the game to become a grind-fest.
Either you grind for materials to make gear to make gold, or you grind for loot to make gold, or you grind for loot and hope it is what you want.
I’ve given up on crafting and just grind to eventually afford what I need.
We couldn’t get into the floating castle in GW1 either.
If there is a storyline to it eventually, it might have something to do with the Necromancer Vassar I believe.
Just for humans, I count about 20 armor sets just in the light armor category that are concealing (long skirt/pants with long sleeves) for females with about 10 that show their mid-drift and/or quite a bit of leg.
Going to the opposite end with heavy armor, there are only 2 maybe 3 sets that show any significant skin.
And it looks like only the tier 3 human medium set shows any significant skin.
Sexy armors got the shaft in GW2.
Sexy armors from GW1 I’d like to see in GW2 and the respective armor class:
Light Armor
Elite Scar Pattern armor brought back for Necromancers.
Enchanter and Elite Enchanter brought back for Mesmers
Probably ALL the Elementalist armors brought back
Medium Armor
Elite Druid armor brought back for Rangers
Canthan, Luxon, and Imperial armors from the Assassins brought back.
Heavy Armor
Elite Gladiator armor brought back for Warriors and Guardians.
Probably ALL the Paragon Armors
More armor choices would be nice along with class specific armors. But honestly, skimpy armor is the minority here so far since there is more concealing armor sets vs revealing armor sets in GW2.
Please look for yourself:
http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/
I support this.
I have lost count on how many times a enemy has gone invincible and regened to full life…
OUT IN THE OPEN.
ie: Open Flat Terrain.
Nope…
If you want the other dungeon tokens, do those dungeons instead of farming an “easy” dungeon for tokens and hoping to convert them into tokens for the dungeons you don’t want to do.
They should be Account Bound, period.
They still have a major reason to have people buy the unidentified dyes even with the the unlocked dyes being account bound…
The Gift of Color requires 250 unidentified dyes to make.
So, the OP is willing to pay $240 for the first year of a game then $180 a year after that…
If a company put a price on their game like that (like all subscription and F2P/P2W MMOs) whether optional or not, people with Real RL would give the game the bird and walk away.
Guild Wars has set the precedent for being RL friendly. Most of the GW1 players came to GW2 knowing they could enjoy this game and still go on with their lives.
We don’t live with our parents and work at McJobs (this is a real word, look it up) just to have our only bills be the subscription fee for our game and maybe car insurance so we only have to work enough to pay for those and then live in our games the rest of the month. That would be an average $100 combined for the month, basically 14 work hours a month at federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hr.
Please drop all the “Subscription Ideas” at the door. This is not WoW.
Buy $15 worth of gems every month from the gem store if you feel compelled to pay a subscription fee every month for the game.
(edited by Ravion Hawk.4736)
I honestly think they should have a set price and not an inflating one with our levels if they keep the waypoint fee.
What happened, did my lovely necromancer get fat as she leveled up?
Besides, has ANet started doing anything about the teleport hack? I’ve been seeing quite often at gathering nodes. Obviously somebody found a way around the waypoint fee.
Using the search feature would be nice too…
This message was brought to you by a Kitten who can see the Search Button
Maybe ANet will get the point that we want the dyes account wide.
what is 2g? its like 20s now.
You got that right.
My warrior is level 40 using 35 armor until I get to 50. I can not justify dropping 4g on a set of rare 40 gear when I can purchase/craft rare 50 gear for 1g 20s.
Thankfully my guardian can make the rare 50 armor for my warrior.
