Events become treated like dungeons where everyone in the effective radius of the event has to be dead before you can waypoint out (players that made it public in chat AND on the forums that they would not revive you if you were dead would have no one to blame but themselves if this were to be implemented)
Guild Wars has a big following because it was a casual player’s MMO. I doubt they would harm any solo aspects of GW2.

Actually, taking the concept of time into factor (take Halloween and Winter’s Day out since that is mostly for the players), 26 days from the Karka attack to Scarlett’s attack REALLY brings into perspective why LA wasn’t fortified enough to prevent Scarlett from slapping the tar out of the Lionguard.

I’m honestly glad I missed 7 months of this LS. I’d probably be even more perturbed at how it ended.
As to the in-game time frame, take each update that happened roughly every two weeks and count that as a day that is repeated constantly for two weeks then you’d might be able to handle the story a tiny bit better knowing that from the end of the Personal Story to the end of the Living Story (including the Karka) only 26 days have passed in-game.
This would actually explain away most, if not all of the plot holes seeing as how the Living Story was less than a month from start to finish and therefore the plot holes “technically” are not there. Example, the probes were only there for about a day or two before they ’sploded and a full investigation could not be done in time.
Concept of time could help make this palatable for many.
The wife and I were talking about this thread and she has pointed out that LA was attacked 3 times before Scarlett:
Zhaitan
Mad King Thorn (counts since he busted through the lion statue)
Karka
Lions Arch should have reinforced the city’s defenses LOONNNGGGG before they even figured out that Scarlett was going to attack.
LA deserves to STAY buried now.
Time to contract the Asurans and Charrs to put proper defenses in the 5 capitols.
They’ll bring LA back and I’m with the others that it should be redesigned to look more like a city instead of a pirate mockery of Cantha.
Since ANet proved that the Mystic Toilet can be moved by the people, they should establish a Mystic Toilet in each capitol to help reduce the lag that LA suffered.
Leave everything else in LA (Fractals, Southsun access, Mist Gates, etc.), but give us Mystic Toilets in our home cities. It is the only reason I went to LA in the first place.
100$ to buy a Atlas 100-ton mech (from battletech universe) to be able to three-shot Tequatl.
Why don’t I just bring my whole ’Mech regiment and kill all the pesky dragons???
Assault ’Mechs
Heavy ’Mechs
Medium ’Mechs
Light ’Mechs
Inner Sphere and Clan….
You get the idea
The way I’ve always seen P2W is literally needing to buy X to achieve Z. The common form of this I’ve seen is having to buy the upper tier skills past level 50 that actually do damage to level 85 enemies. ***cough***Forsaken World***cough***
What race do you think would use Battlemechs in GW2? LOL
Everyone who is complaining about the event scaling up, once it scales up it DOES NOT scale back down. If all the dead players (let’s say 30 from a Knight pull) that you all refuse to rez just WP and tell you all the sod off then the left over 20 (keeping the numbers simple to the intended group size) get to finish off a Knight scaled for 50 players.
And yes the Elemental glyph does work from the DEAD state. I’ve been using it with Earth attunment to rez 3 at a time. It sucks that I can do it only every 80-90 seconds though.
I rez EVERYONE except for the WP criers. It is fun watching THEM whine about not getting rezzed while you’re rezzing everyone else. Then the mob mentality changes and they realize they’ve become public enemy number ONE.
I think ANet should take the account names of everyone that says to use a WP and not rez the dead and block their ability to be rezzed for a full month of PvE/WvWvW play time (720 hours) along with banning them from the TP during that month and freezing their wealth.
They’d be allowed to only use what coin they can generate through playing events and loot drops sold to merchants. Any coin that is sent to the accounts from other players, personal farm accounts, or converting gems to coin will be frozen with the wealth.
Make them eat their own words and realize that the 99% can’t afford to WP ALL the time because of the selfish 1%. Bring them to our level and remind them where they started before they became the 1%.
FYI, the Elementalist has a glyph that when attuned to Earth will resurrect 3 players/NPCs from the DEAD state. Best part, it is NOT an elite skill.

Since Scarlett woke up the dragon in Magus Falls area…
Does that mean she found Zinn’s lab out there?
You know, the Asura that created R.O.X., P.O.X., and N.O.X. who had the lab you could enter if you had M.O.X. in your party out in Magus Falls area in GW1.
I brought this to the attention of one of the in-game Devs (Nexune) that is on my contacts list and they said that it was not right and that they were bringing it to the appropriate people.
If you tag any enemies and do some kind of damage you are to get EXP no matter what from the way it sounds.
Loot is a whole other story and I didn’t mention that to them since the EXP is most important.
When I brought this to their attention, I was doing thousands of points of damage and many times taking down 50% or more of an enemy on my own before a zerg showed up to kill the enemy and was getting zero EXP. I watched my damage logs for a few days before I brought it to their attention.
Getting Gold for event participation, but no loot either.
Hopefully they get this fixed.
“Defeat ALL THREE assault knights WITHIN six minutes after the event STARTS.”
You need three teams (one for each knight) attacking at the SAME time.
There is NO order to kill them in. I’ve watch almost every possible order work.
If a team can take one down in 2 minutes then that means if we work together in separate teams on each knight, we can take them ALL down in 2 minutes.
Overflows won’t work since they can not seem to coordinate properly and it is a clash of egos and everyone is stubborn and refuses to listen.
And the fix that A-Net needs about the rezing issue is that after 10 seconds of no active rezing, the dead player and players nearby in a certain radius ALL get teleported to the nearest WP. We are to work TOGETHER, not force everyone to WP when they die. If waypointing was free then I would agree that once you’re dead you should just WP, but I’m not about to force someone to waste their money because someone can’t take a moment to rez another player.
This would be even more hilarious if this was ANet’s answer to AFKing in LA.
Send enemies with “launch” and boot them out the door.

Well, you know it is nice to bring things back once in a while because there are some people like me that may have been around since the 3 day head start, but I had to miss 7 months worth of content because I was away. My wife did my dailies for me while I was gone and that was it.
When I got home and she realized there were things that were missed that I thought were cool she felt guilty. I only asked her to do my dailies while I was away.
Bringing back some items actually makes A-Net look even better in the eyes of those that have to deploy for months on end and can’t enjoy the content updates. We have the wiki to fill in the story gaps, but to get our hands on something that is only account bound and can’t be bought is AWESOME.
So, how would you like it if a whole guild ran by and reported you as AFK just to get you kicked the Character Select?
GW1 leech report was easier to use since it was only usable against your own team and the slot would not refill. Here it could lead to serious trouble in an open world system.
I have the Razer Naga Epic and I get the same deal but I chalk it up to using too many inputs through the one IRQ for the mouse.
It hasn’t really affected my playing since I zoom out in a big battle so I can place my marks and wells for maximum coverage anyways.
Have you tried installing the DirectX End-User Runtime?
I had to install this for another game before GW2 released. Can’t remember which one since Sacred 2 required a special Nvidia driver and I had Aion, Lineage II, Forsaken World, and Perfect World before GW2 and I had to install the run-time to make one of them work.
I’m feeling a little lost. How are we supposed to color these?
I must have missed that announcement.

Set your paging file to 3 times your physical RAM. (min and max page file size needs to be the same)
Putting the paging file on another physical disk WILL help.
Update ALL drivers. Use the driver utility whenever possible to make sure you get the latest drivers.
Make sure Windows is fully updated.
Not having a paging file WILL NOT mess with your system, SSDs can not have paging files put on them nor can they be de-fragmented because paging files and defragmenting will reduce the life of SSDs alarmingly fast. SSDs only have about 10,000 write cycles and a page file will chew that up in a week or two.
And check your case fans and make sure they are working and blowout your heat sinks. Heat will mess with EVERYTHING in a PC and make you think you have problems elsewhere when all you need to do is clean/replace a fan or two.
Change the OS power settings to “High Performance” to remove the dynamic flux with the CPU.
Win7 and 8 are defaulted to “Balanced” which puts the CPU in dynamic flux between 20% to 100%.
Most GPUs on the other hand are set around 60% of their max and using Afterburner (for MSI graphic cards) or AMD Catalyst/VISION (for ATI GPUs) can boost this up on GPUs.
7.1 Surround requires 7 speakers + a sub-woofer. LF, RF, LC, RC, LR, RR, CT, and Sub-Woofer.
Headphones only have 2 speakers and hence why normal stereo works because it uses only 2 speakers (left and right).
You are very welcome.
I’m not referring to IP address changing, I’m referring to the fact that it said my account was “in use at another location.” I was worried that meant that I was booted from the game because someone else logged onto my character from somewhere else, meaning I was hacked.
I’m referring to the fact that your IP address got changed by your ISP while you were logged in causing you to get that error.
Ex:
You are playing from IP 75.75.75.75
Your ISP changes your IP to 96.96.96.96
You are still “logged in” at the time of the change at IP 75.75.75.75
You get booted off the internet for micro seconds while you get changed to IP 96.96.96.96
Your GW2 Client tries to reconnect then “sees” the residual login at IP 75.75.75.75 which is no longer your IP and generates the mentioned error.
The game server still “sees” you logged in from IP 75.75.75.75 while it awaits the notice that you got DC’d. You have to authorize IP 96.96.96.96 before you can log back in.
Advanced Example:
Log into your home router and change the internal IP address of the computer you are using to access the router and you will get the same error when the router applies the IP change and boots you out and says something like “the administrator is currently logged in from another device.”
If you have Comcast, their DHCP for the modem IP Addresses have gone “Full Re+ard” and started giving out IPs from across the US.
My wife and I are supposed to have a South-East IP, but we have a North-East IP now that is about 7+ states away.
The wife has been noticing the same issues with jumping while playing on her computer. She has a different keyboard and mouse from mine and she is using the default layout.
That is two machines I can confirm having the same issues I’ve described.
Lemme clear this up:
I use a Razer Naga gaming mouse with all my skills at my thumb. I slide my my keyboard over so I have a lot of room for my mouse hence why I use only right side of my keyboard.
Every key on my keyboard works just fine even the jump key except when I REALLY need to jump. Be it in a JP or to simply jump out of the way. This is made worse when my character stops mid-step for no reason.
3. Jumping into a dodge roll. My jump key is nowhere near the dodge key.
Yes it is. It is binded by default on “V”.
My jump key is bound to my right Ctrl key and my dodge key is bound to my D key.
I refuse to use WASD for any type of movement. I’m old enough to remember how to use the up, down, left, and right keys or the number pad for movement.
W = walk/run
A = target ally
S = scoreboard
D = dodge
So my comment of jumping into a dodge roll still stands since the dodge key and the jump key are no where near each other on my keyboard.
The problems I have noted with jumping are:
1. Character refusing to jump when pressing the jump key. This is not a latency issue if you can jump when you press the jump key one step before the affected spot.
2. Object collision where there should be no collision IE. Jumping next to a smooth, flat surface and the jump is acting like there is an overhang where there isn’t one.
3. Jumping into a dodge roll. My jump key is nowhere near the dodge key.
Plus ANet took down the blog where they promised the dyes would be account bound.
All that remains is their lame excuse as to why they made them character based while we all know it is for them to make money out of it somehow.
And if players can farm 184+ gold to afford 8 Abyss dyes, then they obviously know how to farm that much gold and 184 gold is simple pocket change to them.
I also have issues with my character stopping dead in their tracks mid step and looking like they have hung up on something. I once thought it was my mouse, but I’ve replaced it since then with a corded mouse.
But yes, jumping needs some clean up work.
I see fishing suggestions and all I think about is how players in Forsaken World would drag hostiles over to the fishers, especially during the fishing tournaments, and watch them get creamed. This happened in all the realms on all the PvE only servers.
Talk about getting ganked in a PvE only setting ROFLMAO!
Oh, that is my “No” to including fishing to GW2.
4. It’s funny how no one objects to Black Lion Chests until ANet puts something people want in them.
I honestly don’t know what is in them nowadays. I get a key from my story and I unlock one and usually get boosters out of it.
I’m more concerned that I’ll still be able to play GW2 with the wording of the new laws coming to FL since I did pay for an account. It seems that the easiest way to avoid the new laws is for ANet to remove the keys, mini packs, and the dye packs out of the Gem Store.
I even quickly checked the Gem Store and those 3 items are the only things there that are even attached to RNG in any way. Everything else is WYSIWYG.

But if you work at it, you could. I’ve seen REAL engineers do some crazy stuff LOL.
I thought about this and there is no place for Druids in GW2 except with the Norn and the Humans.
GW1 had the Dervish which was almost spot on for a Druid since we draw down and invoke our gods/goddesses and that is what the Avatars were. That is what the Humans could do in GW2 with a Dervish/Druid class. They’d gain new skills and weapons including 6 new elite skills.
The Norn have their Totem Animal Spirits which ALL Norn (with the exception of Jora after the Drakkar Lake incident) can invoke, so a Norn Dervish/Druid wouldn’t gain much different except new skills and weapons. No real new elites.
The Charr, Sylvari, and Asuras don’t have gods/goddesses/totems. These races would be excluded from being Dervishes/Druids.

Kaimick, your link does not work.
I live in FL and have worked in the businesses as armed security that is causing the current push to ban online gambling and internet sweepstakes.
FL nailed 55+ people in a money laundering scheme that used internet cafes with online gambling. While they are trying to ban these “cafes” the language is affecting online gambling including our games with cash shops.
Optional or not, the fact that there are items that can be purchased with real cash that can cause a gamble with RNG of getting what you want falls under the definition of gambling. It is the fact that somehow REAL CASH can be involved that classifies it as gambling.
Which means unless they increase the drop rate of Black Lion Keys to become roughly 25-50% of the drop rate of Black Lion Chests those can be considered as gambling and will be affected by the new laws coming to FL since the fastest way to get BLKs is to buy them from the Gem Store.
The Dyes and Minpet Packs sold in the Gem Store (not the Unidentified Dyes picked up as random drops) would also fall under the definition.
Basically, ONLY the RNG items from the Gem Store would be classed as gambling and subject to the new laws.
I just want to know how each game company would work this out. Would they identify the IP addresses as coming from FL (and any other states/countries that outlaw online gambling with the same language) and automatically block the purchases of the items in question? Take the items off the cash shop world wide? Block the games from those states/countries?
The new laws are not in stone yet here in FL since it has been less than a month since the heavy push to outlaw online gambling, but the wording is about to change how some aspects of online gaming are treated.
Illegal, where? Not in the UK it ain’t.
It has already passed the House here in FL and I believe it passed the senate too.
FL has outlawed/is outlawing any type of online gambling after the Allied Veterans fiasco here.
Not sure if this has been solved yet, but there is a way to do this! On your mini-map, there is a arrow-like button when you hover your cursor on the map. Click this to enable rotation, make sure you are zoomed out when you click it though, because for me it wouldn’t let me click until I was. Enjoy!
THANK YOU!
I did a quick search and didn’t find this suggestion so here goes:
Can something like a two week time limit be put on Sell orders in the trade post?
I make this request since I have had items on the TP that kept getting “one-coppered” and they actually sat for a while and I ended up getting them off when I noticed.
I’m not upset that what I tried to sell didn’t sell, I still had the merchant I could sell the items to.
My experience with MMO Trade Posts/Auction Houses are limited, but GW2’s Trade Post is the only one I’ve used that didn’t have a time limit on the Sell orders.
I know it would help curb ridiculous prices on some things plus it would allow buyers to have a bit more say in the value of items instead of just the seller since the sellers would get the hint after paying the tax 4~5 times because no one was willing to buy the item at such a ridiculous price.
This could also get players to actually go out and work on legendary weapons for themselves since players won’t want to part with those weapons cheaply after all the work they put into them.
Finally, a two week time limit for sell orders may aid in bot prevention especially if bots can’t take items off the trade post if their inventories are full. A high rate of items needing to come off the trade post due to expired sales coupled with full inventories may assist in tipping off potential bots to ANet though I really don’t know if there is a limit on how many items you can put on the Trade Post.
On that note, thinking of it I believe GW2 is also the first MMO I’ve played with a TP/AH that doesn’t have a limit on how many items you can have for sale at one time. counting full stacks as one item of course. The max that I tend to see is between 15 to 20 items. Maybe we could do a limit of 30 items for sale at one time.
Anyhoo, that is my suggestion.

Reporting from North East FL, negative on being able to log in. I also have reports from West MI say they can not log in either.
Makes me want to start a guild just for Military Personnel so they don’t lose their guild while deployed.
I will only agree with this if commanders were still choked in PvE and PvP.
Commanders are only useful in WvWvW and I support them being un-choked there ONLY.
Someone already posted in the Glitch forum. They know about it.
Cool!
OP, you do realise that many of these small guilds are actually made up of family members or close friends who want to play together, right? Who are you to dictate how small or large a guild must be to exist?
You took the words out of my mouth.
My guild includes:
3 family friends
My wife
My mother (Yes, my MOTHER plays GW2!)
And soon my nephew will be joining.
I just saw the change.
It completely RUINS my purple look for my thief.
I think they meant to remove the dye panel for the blades on the chest piece, but I will look over all the armors now.
Good thing I like Red though.
If I can work 15 hour days 7 days a week and STILL get my dailies done, there is no excuse to have ANY kind of grace period on doing dailies. You have 24 hours to do them in.
because the world revolves around you. A lot of people work 15 hour days, have kids, A LIFE, etc but as long as YOU can complete YOURS because you make sure you come home and play Gw2 immediately after working, that ANYONE ELSE dare not get BENEFITS / PLEASURE from the game. Sir, yes, sir!
I get home before the kids wake up and get them done in an hour. I never said the world revolves around me. The normal average work week is 8 hours a day 5 days a week. As an armed security guard I’m working 15 hour days (+7 hours), 7 days a week (+ 2 days x 15 hours).
That means I work 105 hours a week and can still get my dailies done plus spend time with the family, but someone that works 40 hours a week feels they need a grace period to get their dailies done. Hogwash!
As to degrading into a fractals complaint thread, Fractals is OPTIONAL for the dailies. Get five of the dailies done on the list THEN run fractals AFTER the dailies are done.
Time management people! You have 24 hours to do them in, quit making excuses. Takes an hour to do them.

It would be cool if they could use the “Magic Weather System” from 1990’s Shenmue, but that weather system was based on the actual weather data from 1986-87 for Yokosuka, Japan. Notably from November 29, 1986 to April 1987.
Basically, it could be rainy in the morning, overcast early afternoon, rainy late afternoon, then clear in the evening.
