With the plethora of AoE from engie and thief I don’t really understand how you lost to 4 spirit rangers. You should just have the thieves cluster bomb midfight while engies do the same with bombs and grenades. It seems to me like you expect to play normally to beat a team comp that is anything but normal.spirit rezz spam might have been an issue though

If ppl who have similair mmr q at the same time and get grped it just means matchmaking works.

Imho the main problem why teams break apart so fast is because a team needs 5 players.
Forcing them to create consistent teams wont fix that imo – its simply too many ppl. Especially in pvp where emotions flare all the time anyway.
If you check out wow 2v2 arena has the most players playing it .. then 3v3 … then somewhere way back its 5v5.
I see, you are EU. See how it goes with lots of games without top players on your team. It will be interesting.
If matchmaking works – why would i be matched WITH bad players vs good players? (in fact i think that beating bads with bad team is always easier than top team v top team – maybe except foefire)
And obviously the first few games i played i didnt have a top team…

Spirit definitely needs a rework and i was wondering when the first ranger would complain about it because the build itself is pretty kitten boring to play i guess.
AoE Prot alone makes it completely broken in teamfights.
I`d rather have the old BM back even if they kicked my kitten .
Play a few more games Rayn. You’ll begin to see how it goes most of the time.
Actually game quality gets a lot better with higher rank. Quitting and akitteng is more of a low MMR issue.
But yea i get where ure coming from… just make sure your team is a few points ahead rigfht after start so if anyone ragequits its going to be the opposing team.
Also some ragequits might be deserved. I always instaleave when anyone goes boss on forest at start and then our 1 dude in mid dies instantly.
I think it would be very interesting and instructive if one of the top “name” players were to ask ANet to set their SoloQ ELO to a minimum, and see how long it takes them to raise that character to the top again. If they even could.
It would be something to watch.
I won my first game on soloq by solo capping far and bunkering vs up to 4 people for pretty much the entire game. (not that build mattered – could have played dps and just destroyed everyone – ppl too bad)
Would be kittening depressing for everyone else to do that thats all. Takes a few hours max.
EDIT: @ the guy above me whose name automatically gets turned to kitten – just make a second character and switch before game starts (ALSO: why the hell is deeeeeeeerp banned? theres literally NOTHING offensive about it)

TL;DR – the “countdown ring” of condis and boons does sometimes not represent the actual remaining duration and will instead just disappear with the boon / condi remaining on the character
I have observed the following with stability and poison multiple times and a few times with burn but its probably an issue with others as well. I believe it usually happens when i stack duration pretty long but in the end i really have no idea what is causing it.
*The Issue:
The “countdown ring” of the condition or boon (which shows remaining duration of a boon or condi by slowly ticking down) does sometimes not represent the actual remaining time of the condition / boon. It will “run out” but the condition / boon will remain on the player with the “countdown ring” gone. When hovering over the condi/boon your are still able to see the remaining seconds (which have rightfully been applied as far as i could tell) but the countdown timer remains hidden.
It happens for both self and other (targeted) players
This is a huge game deciding problem when: Trying to CC right when stability runs out or heal / condi cleanse right when poison ends.
Fix please.

On high lvl there are hardly any TRUE bunkers anymore – its all about team support + caps/decaps and kills
i kill AR engis regularly with full condi builds
it can be a pain in the kitten i guess but most of the time its not worth picking (only exception might be with soldiers amy but imo there are no strong builkds with that soooo)
there are of course counters to it !
- stealth yourself
- move from the points , keep moving until stealth runs out
- try to hinder them stealthing, they have to cluster and cannot attack , if you know you just killed 3 of the nmy team follow them and disrupt their stealthatempt ..points are ticking for your team that time

What if instead of -100% duration, instead it just Removed all conditions and gave an 8-10 seconds berserker stance effect (shown with an icon of the trait number so we can see when its about to run off) on a 60-90 sec cd. It’d save lives, allow clutch, bot not be a perma resistance which is no fun.

No, there should be no rank requirement to play a tournament, and it’s not really rank 1-20’s fault of being matched with ranks 40-50. Blame MM for that.

Slowing down the pace of GW2’s combat slightly would actually contribute to making it deeper and more strategical, not the opposite, IMO. My post explains it.

Fair enough to give it the stun breaker and then a 3 second cast on the actual res. Then yeh, I would be happy with the engi. The self res is ridiculous. Resses got nerfed but they forgot to nerf toss elixr r
They already nerfed it long ago, by increasing its cooldown.
And putting 3s cast would make it useless. It already requires whoever must be ressed to stay inside that little area for enough time – it isn’t instant, it gives 20% downed hp per second. You can already use CC before the engineer gets downed to sweep it away from that area. You can use launches after that or poison him and dps him down.
The other ress skills have got a cast time and an instant effect. Here there is an instant cast and an effect that requires some time. And that’s why it is balanced.
Just learn to play.
Ress elixir has a few downsides but its still hands down the best rezz in the game.
The main issue is that most engi utility skills are plain bullkitten + no weapons swap so theres really no reason to bring anything else.
Also for the record: D/D burst ELE spamming his lightning (1) deals enough dps to out dps elixir R rezz without the need for poison

AoE stealth for the entire team is OP! Maybe make explo finishers count for the person activating it only but not sure if that would fix the issue.

AoE team stealth is ridicolously OP. There is no counter except stealthing yourself as well and hoping their stealth runs out first and they somehow end up in a bad spot where u can open on them as well..
restealthing mid game is just as op – wipe enemy team, wait a few seconds restealth 4 ppl – gank their respawn – at least 1 down again.
This kitten really has to go – there is no counter play to this crap except hiding back on close with 5 ppl and cowering in fear (ok might be exaggerated but u get the point)

Bombs are too expensive traitwise – they cost as much as a main weapon should but dont perform
I understand that people have been using these things to some effect in tourneys but i personally always found them to be meh and can dodge pretty much all of them as long as im playing ranged.
If a nerf goes live it will be the second one i dodged in a row.
