My guild takes a ranger with us on most nights now because of how powerful they are to down single targets from range. If you can protect your ranger(s) (1 for every 10-15 people in your zerg), you can put a lot of ranged pressure onto your enemy backline or to snipe the enemy commander.

Because the female voice actor for humans is better than the male voice actor. Seriously though, I used to make female characters to get free stuff from adolescent guys who think with their dangly bits rather than their brain, then made them cause they usually got access to more armor skins. In GW2, I made a few female characters cause they fit. 2/9 are male though. Male asura VA sounds sassy as hell

How to create a Zerg; tag up and do kitten. People will gravitate towards you and eventually you’ll get a zerg

The lv22 thing only applies to the UI. There’s nothing stopping anyone from entering the mists at level 2.

Honestly, for OCX, if you want decent NA-esque fights, you need to go to T1. For slightly smaller fights, then T2. Under T2, you’ll get a few 10-15 man zergs karma training. Not saying those servers are dead, but there’s little to no competition there.

If I’m wrong, please let me know cause I kind of want out of T1 myself.

Grind: Repetition of specific content in order to achieve the next tier of content. E.G. Grind mobs to level up for the next area of higher level mobs. Grinding Fractals in order to achieve the highest level Fractal content.

Farm: Repetition of specific content in order to achieve materialistic gain such as gold or items. E.G. Farming Silverwastes for that HoT BETA portal stone, or farming mats to craft my Ascended gear, or farming Dry Top to craft my Nomads gear.

1/5 of my guild is now made up of people not on my server, trying to transfer in.

It’s frustrating, but gotta deal. The server cap has got to be raised sooner or later, when 1/4 of the NA servers are on Full status.

There’s absolutely 0 grind in this game. People confuse farming with grinding. I’ll probably keep repeating that across multiple threads until people get that into their heads

Either a game is good and the player base is decent, or one or the other sucks and people leave because of it. So, either GW2 is a bad game at it’s core or your guild sucked. Or, maybe they’re all playing together someplace but told everyone not to let you know about it.

Agreed with your first premise. I’m the guild leader for my guild. I try to organise events every single night, but with fewer and fewer people turning up every night, it’s hard to continue justifying playing on GW2 rather than moving towards other games.

Faerie Law [FL] is an Australian/Singapore based WvW and PvP guild, though we organise some PvE in the mix too (Friday nights for guild missions, occasional weekday dungeon nights). We’re based on Blackgate for WvW (it’s not required to be on Blackgate to join the guild as our server is usually on full status, only that your guild rank is restricted until you’re on the server). We also require all members to have access to teamspeak

We’re not a large guild with our guild roster at just under 50 players, but we’re pretty active with very friendly players

You can get max level BiS gear in under 1 month from making an account. I’d say that’s no grind.

Other games my guild and I have played required years to even get close to max level.

Don’t mix up farming with grinding.

It seems that Australia gets no “love” from ArenaNet, especially in the 10 year anniversary competition, we are not even able to enter. I’d just like to know why.

I’m moving to Australia from Europe this year, could you tell me what it’s like to play from there on EU servers? What’s the ping? Which ISP do you use? Is it possible to pvp at all?

You won’t be able to play on the EU servers. I get 360~450 ping on my SFR account and 230~290 ping on my Blackgate account.

PvP is fine on NA servers, but I found it a bit tough on the EU servers due to the much higher ping. Extremely hard to land a good static field when playing an ele with that kind of lag

Actually, the 1v1 faction system was implemented in other games before and found incredibly unbalanced (Warhammer anyone). A 3 faction system was far more balanced as it theoretically allowed a 2v1 on the stronger server, or even if there’s no 2v1, it allows the weaker 2 servers to gain ground back while the stronger server switches between targets to try maximise their points. Again, theoretically speaking.

Unfortunately, GW2 players are a bunch of casual carebears that would rather karma train than fight it out, so that’s why WvW is so, SO terribly unbalanced. As soon as a server is struggling, people bail. Each NA server has enough people to queue all 4 maps during NA prime, but only the top 6 servers can manage it, and only then, during reset. The WvW map limitations are tiny compared to the population this game has, so why can’t the maps be filled?

Engineer has very little self sustain and damage compared to other classes in WvW. It’s great for small scale 5v5 sort of fights, but for anything larger than 5 people, other classes start to overtake Engineer in viability for both damage, support and sustain.

Slick shoes just isn’t enough.

This long drought for content is killing activity within my guild. Not sure about others. Expansion is still months away, surely we can’t be expected to just go off what we have now for content until expac release?

GW2 has always been starved of content compared to other MMOs cause of the lack of grind, but Living Story was an ingenious strategy to keep people interested. This current lack of any updates is seriously boring us out though.

More like REN. Rangers with their ridiculous range just plinking away at you so you have to move even further out of range of your enemy zerg or risk getting spiked down with 5+ rangers hitting their 2 button

The walls definitely need to be wider because siege built on them right now are useless. Even if they were made wider, non-LoS skills like Dragon Tooth on Elementalists will still be able to hit them.

AC fire needs to be made for LOS

Golem damage needs to be tempered so that 5 golems won’t melt everything in seconds

And from an attacking point of view, the siege cap needs to be changed to force siege to spread out more. Having over 10 ACs on a single gate is ridiculous. Especially on a keep like Hills, where there’s no real entry point besides the gates if it’s upgraded.

This is definitely a l2p issue. You have dodges for a reason. Use ’em.
