Ultimate dominator is pretty reachable. I know a few people with that title. It’s also pretty possible to get 200-500 kills a night if you focus on WvW alone. Some get upwards of 1k kills a night pretty consistently. I myself have around 60k kills, around 35-40k of which were obtained in the past 4-5 months as I moved away from roaming into zerging to work on UD title

My complaint is usually because I play a melee class and a ranger can kill me before I can close the gap. Only exception is when I’m playing a medi-build guardian with projectile absorption on sword 3 skill, 3 second block on focus 5 and 2 targeted blinks and a leap. If I’m playing a d/d ele (which could be killed in 1 rotation from a LB ranger even before the patch) or warrior, there’s just no way I could close the gap and still have skills and hp left to fight. If the gap never existed (such as if they didn’t pay attention to me), then they’re still pretty easy kills

Condi melee Rangers are pretty fun to fight though. The evades are real

I have all level 80s and play my class depending on what’s required in WvW or sPvP (usually bunker guardian, elementalist or warrior). Where does that put me lol

Correlating class choices with Myers-Briggs in a video game is really stretching it due to many people playing a class ‘because it’s OP’, or because they were told to (play your healer for raid/play your warrior, we need a banner).

I’d honestly recommend Blackgate. If you know what you’re doing, several of our guilds would probably accept you tagging along if you’re on teamspeak and get into some decent fights. It’s less likely that will happen on the other two T1 servers given that Blackgate still has more individual guilds during NA prime, even if they run less players compared to our competitors.

Heck, sometimes our pugmanders will simply send a whisper to an enemy commander to come fight them. Sometimes it works

Every time something is about to flip colour, everyone on the map would d/c and the map would reset. Upgrades still work though so it’s pretty kitten difficult for BG and TC right now since SMC is upgrading uncontested due to a broken game.

The difference is pretty minimal so with open field fights, most guilds would use poultry and leek over lemongrass in order to save gold.

In GvGs, definitely go for the lemongrass.

The difference isn’t much, but it’s there. That fraction of a second of being immobilised or chilled too long can make a huge difference in the outcome of a close fight.

I’ve noticed this on lower tier servers. It’s actually what makes me enjoy them more than T1 at times (T1 gets pretty stressful at times). Most guilds will let you run with them as long as you know what you’re doing. My alt account is on CD at the moment and watching guilds do their own thing is pretty cool. I wish T1 had more guilds willing to do that

Try having 2 queued enemy servers standing outside your spawn waiting for you to come out. On all 4 maps. What you’re facing is nothing

I don’t get the big deal with expansions and a monitised content delivery method. I grew up with free MMORPGs that provided a ton of content for free. That’s what I’ve seen LS as. It’s not expac, nor is it filler. It’s content delivered for free

well since it effects everyone , changing anything would be a bad idea .

changing your gear to compensate just means your gaining 125power ect compaired to others that also suffered the change to might.

the change to might isnt a nurf but a rebalancing of might to power/condi.
better off keeping said gear and wait it out till you know what is effective or not.

no point in getting full zerks for WvW then find out the new gear isn’t as effective on your server , since a lot of people will change there builds to compensate the might change.

The might nerf affects power main stat users less than power secondary stat users such as Knights and Clerics. The mathematics of it was posted up on Reddit somewhere. This means that if OP wants to mitigate the effects of might nerf, he’ll need to invest more into power main stat.

Buy gems and transfer to T1. It’s the meta solution to all of WvW problems.

You’ll have less chance of getting map completion in T1 than in T8. It’s actually easiest to complete in T8 as you can get your PvE guild, if it’s large enough, get on the map you need completion on, and completely take it over if you have a decent amount of people. If that happens in T2 or T1, you’ll simply get farmed for loot bags while you try to run around taking points.

Full Knights on warrior was never that efficient anyway due to the high natural armor that warriors have. Get a full set of ascended berserker trinkets, weapons and back piece and you won’t feel the effect of the nerfs as much

PvP areas are always toxic, that’s why I rarely go there

Low level PvP players are toxic. High level PvP players are competitive and trash talk each other, but still hold respect for each other. It’s the same across any PvP game. Get good and enjoy the community or suffer the toxic mess with the worst players that think they’re hot stuff.

Block function works fine imo. You still see the characters to decide whether or not you want to unblock or not. I don’t see OP’s reasoning.

You simply moved to the wrong T1 server. Neither Blackgate nor Jade Quarry gets the queues Tarnished Coast gets during NA. Not even close, if we even get queues at all. JQ mostly gets the queues during OCX and SEA while Blackgate has pretty evenly distributed coverage so we rarely see any map queued longer than 5 minutes.

Night capping is a bigger problem on the EU servers as I understand it.

Seriously though, if I want to stay up ’til 4am playing a videogame, who are you to say no to that?

PPK was the only thing that kept my server (Blackgate) competitive in terms of points last matchup. I’d love for it to stay.

Other sources of points (sentry and yak kills) are fairly constant with the other servers so it’s only kills keeping us competitive :p

There are times when we can’t use voice comms. If I have relatives over, I’m not going to be on comms. If my headset is being used on another computer, I’m not going to be on comms.

That said, simply ‘not wanting to be on comms’ is a pretty kitten poor reason. It makes a bad group mediocre, a good group great.

But team composition out of NA+EU+CN (CN is china, CH is confederation Helvetia, I.e. Switzerland ) would be the only way to make 24/7 meaningful.
And for the Ping: move the match every 8 hours to a server in the region that currently has primetime.

Won’t work. OCX will have 400-700 ping to China servers (from Sydney anyway). Can’t imagine what kind of ping you get to China servers from NA.

I don’t see how ANet can’t. Nexon has done pretty well with free updates for their MMOs, as well as a bunch of other developers who’ve done similar updates with their games, there’s no reason ANet can’t either.

I’ve always been against boxed expansion and pro micro transactions. I’ve always seen it as a cash grab for incomplete content. The current Living Story delivery system is fine. They should charge a little more for each chapter imo, but the amount of content is good and the rewards are pretty good too.

Living story and PvE isn’t repeatable end-game. WvW and sPvP is. That’s where the development team (outside of the LS team) should be focusing.

Why would a WvW guild not have class/build/activity requirements? Sounds like you want a PvE guild and just show up to WvW now and then.

Anyone serious about WvW wouldn’t join such a guild.

And I rarely play NA except for reset nights, when I don’t roam cause zerg bags.

We had the Ruins daily today so lots of tishy PvE players or zerglings capping ruins for the daily box.

Also, I see more mesmers and condi engis when I roam. Maybe it’s just the time.

If he wants consistent action, T1 is the last place where there’s consistent SEA. Other servers have SEA, sure, but even in T2, you’ll be roaming around for ages before finding a fight. You still have that in T1, but a higher likelihood of finding fights

T2 is ok for some smaller zerg fights during SEA though, since the 3 servers can field like 30-40 on a good night and just stuff them on EBG to fight it out.

Actually, the roaming scene during SEA in T1 is very good. Theres a lot of 2v2 or 1v2 situations which is highly ideal for roamers, as well as fight clubs and duels going off. The borderlands will often have 5 man groups running around as well(when the blobs aren’t there) which are great for some small scale skirmishes.

No reason to be intimidated by WvW players. Will you get blown up seemingly from nowhere… yes. Will some players seem unkillable… yes. Will you get frustrated and want to hurl your mouse across the room… probably. Will you rejoice when you beat the crap out two other players simultaneously from sheer skill alone… it will be one of the better feelings of your life.

We all had to start from somewhere and the best way to get “good” is to just go in there and start dying. Eventually you will get comfortable, improve and one day be cracking skulls like the rest of us.

Cannot agree enough. Running solo in WvW requires a lot of skill but man, the feeling you get when you pull off strong wins against other players is amazing.

You’re not missing anything. Most of us hate the removal of white swords and are eagerly awaiting the end of the event for it to come back, even at the expense of PPK

So how exactly are you supposed to gain PPT without sieging again?

Who said anything at all about winning? Who at this point of the game still cares about that? Criticisms levelled at GSCH is that you guys don’t care about WvW. You’re a PvE guild with a few WvW players. There’s no desire to actually participate and boost WvW presence in SoR from GSCH. There’s little to no desire to improve open field fight skills within the guild leadership. It leads to conflict with the people and guilds that do care. That’s generally why SoR’s second exodus happened, even though SoR was in a very good position to rise back to Silver.

If you go completely hands off WvW and keep your trains to EoTM, SoR might actually bounce back as your extremely large PvE population gets slowly introduced to WvW via ANet events such as Sneak Attack and tournaments.

My impression of SoR, or at least those that didn’t leave in the latest migration, is that it’s full of awesome people… until you suggest that they change something they’re doing to help the server succeed. Then it’s full of angry people.

That was the impression I got from my 2 week stay on SoR on my alt (you guys hadn’t moved yet at the time). I would say that there are people willing to change, but are overshadowed by the people who would rather show up to WvW in uplevel PvE specs and ride the weekly 2 hour karma trains and to hell with those people trying to make WvW fun for themselves by trying to defend and win. In this respect, GSCH has a lot to answer for as the proponents of the weekly karma trains that really warp what WvW is meant to be, in my opinion.

There are some really dedicated WvWers in GSCH. It’s a pity they aren’t given much support to do more and push more people into WvW.

I must say though, that SoR kept me slightly more interested than ET when ET was ranked last, though the problems differed immensely between the 2 servers.
