There are a LOT of D/D Celestial Ele’s roaming in WvW lately. And they’re extremely difficult to kill. I don’t usually cry “OP” but since everyone else seems to agree that they are I’m glad I’m not imagining things. And in this case I’ll have to agree, they need some kind of fix.
??? Cele ele has like 2300 toughness tops, depending on server bonus, you could literally 2-hit that with a thief. Also has less condi clear and healing compared to a medi guard.
Assassins is higher DPS for some classes

Why is PvP and WvW being shoehorned into general discussion? Just seems like you guys are intent on killing the WvW community one update at a time.
ANet is just wasting the fantastic combat system on PvE and LS updates, rather than focus on sPvP and WvW, which has been the endgame for GW2. Those two sorely neglected game modes (with a missing GvG mode) is what this game is suffering from. Screw the PvE. You get a few skins then grind for 1000s of hours for the next few skins. Put the attention into WvW and watch the player base reinvigorate itself on proper endgame content.

Some of us don’t have the time to listen to 44 mins of talking, or can’t access Youtube for one reason or another. No harm in seeing if there’s a transcript or “important highlights” available; some podcasts have transcripts available for this exact reason.

T1 should
1) work on keeping all time zones balanced, not just overall ppt.
2) organize cross-server push weeks, and other events. Rather than separate scheduling.
3) in general act like friends playing a game together, rather than fighting a war of extermination.
Basically this. It’s a way of opening up communication between servers to better understand each other to prevent misunderstandings in order to prevent the mistakes of the past, so we can keep T1 healthy and fun for everyone
For those wondering about the people in the channel, BG’s leadership is literally just the GM and officers of every WvW guild and some WvW active PvX guilds. TC has a rotating leadership and JQ has a council of sorts similar to BG. Most servers have some form of this. T1 just takes it to the next level in order to organise ourselves in order to maximise our effectiveness on the field and internally. It’s not for everyone, as such a structure was made to PPT, but it does help with providing a more stable leadership

Anyhoo, try out T1 NA servers. We always have roaming action going on, especially on EBG, where the area North West of SMC is often reserved for Fight Clubs and dueling.

Those of us left in this game mode truly enjoy playing it, even though there hasn’t been any significant changes to the core WvW mechanics since trait lines were introduced (Ruins were a nice addition with Bloodlust, but didn’t really change the way we play due to the lack of visible reward tied in with Bloodlust). We just want some acknowledgement that WvW is still on the agenda for ANet.
You eventually will max all traits anyway. It doesn’t take too long.
It’s not too hard to fix WvW, but it requires a lot of work
1. Rework trait lines and rebalance siege (i.e. nerf the kitten out of arrow carts back to where it used to be)
2. Redesign maps for more a more PvP based system. Work forts/towers/keeps off the new Silverwastes mechanics
3. Improve rewards
4. Rework/nerf PPT and boost the amount of points you get from PvP
5. Have WvW bonuses affect PvE players – but only if they play WvW
6. Decouple cities from the megaservers – it’s not necessary for cities to be megaserver’d. Hell, I used to guest to low pop servers so I wouldn’t get the insane lag and loading times when I log in. It also allows for a server community to (re)form around WvW
7. More balancing aspects around WvW (ranger rapid fire overly buffed while other ranger skills still need work – do any of you rangers use a Torch at all? Also nerf/rework conditions)
8. Remove EoTM access unless all 4 maps (not including obsidian sanctum) are queued – it was supposed to be an overflow for WvW, so make it one.

6 months ago I would’ve said no to merge (and did, these merge threads have been popping up for a long time). Now? We need it badly. Current T1 populations match T3 or lower populations from last year. We can barely queue the 4 maps on reset (recent resets have seen 1 or 2 maps without a queue). 5-10 people can PVD an entire map during certain times of the day. If the game is dying at the top and dead at the bottom, something needs to be changed. Fast.

so is the t1 zerg fighting worth the transfer? cause this is what its all about…. looking for sea timing playtime 8pm – 12mn gmt +8 was wondering if there are servers in t1 who raid at that time
You’ll find lots of 20-30 man groups at those hours, though the fights have been pretty blobby recently and end up being 60vs60vs60 or something, which is fun for a while but gets dull quick

Neither does TC. I wonder why BG needed to send people over to JQ to keep them in T1 given that JQ has so many queues.
They lack experienced commanders in the EU and NA time slot, not lack of players. Given the pug heavy nature of JQ, it’s really hard to get anything done without a strong guiding hand.

TC: GC, Sern, TF, AHMA, HIRE
JQ: MERC, KA, SoX, PINO, FOK
BG: Munt, DAWN, BEAR, TS, FL, SouL, xsoe, cA
I put OCX guilds first and SEA guilds last, keep in mind there’s a good 3 hour gap between OCX and SEA and they DON’T raid at the same time.
Also it should go without saying that more guilds doesn’t mean more numbers, just simply means more groups

WvW is easily monetisable. There are lots of ways from upgrade tokens bought with gems (in multiples of course), to bulk siege blueprints and if they bothered, guild banner emblems with gem store only designs similar to hair styles if they make structure claiming a lot better and more important. Other monetisable stuff include what they already do – finishers

Feigning weakness to give opponents pity wins doesn’t work in EU.
It’s stopped bandwagoners looking for easy wins to consider our server and made the other two servers attractive for guilds looking for fights. Not that you’d know anything about what goes on on T1 NA from your EU server
Unfortunately, I actually disagree with this 100%. I don’t WvW, but the fact of the matter is once you start giving special treatment to one group of players then they will roll all over with it. Why can’t people do dungeons until a certain level? I don’t see this as a fair change across the board and honestly it just seems like special treatment for people who play world versus world.
You can enter dungeons at level 2. You simply can’t open the instance. Fail argument is fail.

Now I am all for a 2v1, if it happens during the natural flow of the map. WvW is not meant to be fair and Anet has said such. However, the following example is plain nuts and completely unbalances the game even further than it is unbalanced due to population.

Un-natural 2v1s, currently like the one that exists on tier 1. There is a guild on Blackgate who sent members over to the other server in the tier, Jade Quarry. The entire time two of these leaders are on, they communicate back and forth and push both servers into combat with the Third. Now I am all for a 2v1 if it occurs in a natural context (i.e. one server attacking a keep and the other noticing the orange swords and deciding, lets go hit the other side and troll the reinforcements.)Basically by sending members of a Blackgate guild over to Jade Quarry, the parties responsible are sticking their hand in the cookie jar. Now my opinion is they are doing this not only to shift the focus of 2v1s but also to hold up a struggling Jade Quarry so that they can not fall from the tier.
What the hell are you smoking? There’s like 4-5 TW members on both BG and JQ to improve the fight situation on T1 and that’s about it. 90% of the time they take a map blob to fight amongst themselves and altogether ignore TC.
Plus, JQ and TC 2v1’d the kitten out of BG during season 2 to the point where commander lists were made, so there’s absolutely 0 wiggle room for anyone on JQ or TC to complain about 2v1.

Where did you get the idea that T1 is overflowing? T1 has less than half the population it did a year ago. In fact, T1 now would barely be competitive to T4 back in October-November in 2012.

Put my opinion earlier on what could be done about WvW. Doesn’t seem like enough devs care to get things done. We just end up getting crappy kitten crap like the change to Quinten Lake tower that was broken for ages. I wonder if that change even went through QA cause it was horrible and extremely uncharacteristic of ANet’s usual work
The PvP in GW2 is what needs content updates. The PvE update schedule at the moment is pumping enough content out to be competitive with expansions against other games. There has been no significant update to WvW gameplay since WXP and trait lines were introduced like a year and a half ago. SPvP got a big update with reward tracks and stuff but is stalling again with lack of new maps and modes.
WvW got a huge number of RvR guilds and players from other games, but the vast majority of WvW guilds that were around at launch and those players that are here for RvR are no longer here. We’re talking tens of thousands of hardcore players that played extremely competitively. Instead, they got drawn away by ESO and Archeage even though both games are inferior to GW2 in terms of mechanics and graphics, but can’t even hold a candle to those games’ PvP support. A pity really
ANet needs to hire more devs and get bigger dev teams so they can maintain their own game, cause it’s just clearly lacking.
@Rimmy, you’ve completely missed Smokee’s point. T1 is the only place left for non-NA players left in this game. OCX prime is like T5-T6 NA prime. There’s not enough OCX, SEA and EU players to split up on the NA servers and still continue to provide those players a decent WvW experience. In fact, look at all the T2 OCX guilds that transferred to T1 recently, and we still can barely match T5 NA prime populations. We simply cannot spread the population out any thinner than it already is
